    This topic has been touched on before but not really answered. I have a dual monitor system and the colors differ wildly. I currently live Buenos Aires where color correction hardware costs premium prices. I do some graphic design, but don't require a pro-level calibration. That said, I'd like my monitors to be set as close to "true color" as possible. I've located the useful and free Monitor Calibration Wizard, but it seems to adjust the entire system internally at startup. I could use the Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet to set a different ICC or ICM profile for each monitor, but the Monitor Calibration Wizard outputs its own format for profiles.

  • Lost "VGA Display" color profile in OS X

    OS X Display settings used to have a color profile named VGA Display, which I found quite usefully for finding color problems before hooking up a projector. Currently, this profile (along with a number of others I've collected from projectors in the past year) is not available. I'm currently OS X 10.6.6 and my best guess is the profiles got wiped out during the last upgrade. None of the available color profiles seem to stink quite enough. Am I overlooking a renamed profile? Is there somewhere I could get a 'VGA Display' profile to install on my computer?

  • ActionScript black color value is NaN

    i'm trying to determine if a color has been supplied as an optional argument to a function. in order to determine this, i'm simply writing if(color){...} and supplying NaN if i don't want there to be a color. however, it seems that the color black (0x000000) also equates to NaN. how can i determine if a supplied color number argument is present and black if 0x000000 is passed as the argument?

    I'm having a problem using a machine level RSA key container when storing only the public key of a public/private key pair. The following code creates a public/private pair and extracts the public key from that pair. The pair and the public key are stored in separate key containers. The keys are then obtained from those key containers at which point they should be the same as the keys going into the containers. The code works when CspProviderFlags.UseDefaultKeyContainer is specified for CspParameters.Flags (i.e. the key read back out from the PublicKey container is the same), but when CspProviderFlags.UseMachineKeyStore is specified for CspParameters.Flags the key read back from PublicKey is different.   • Determine which software product a Microsoft Product Key activates

    Without a product key being labelled, is there is any way to identify what Microsoft software product a given product key is meant to activate? Let's say for example I had the product key ABCDE-FGHIJ-KLMNO-PQRST-UVWXY, but I had no clue if was meant for Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 7 Home Premium, Vista Ultimate, or even Office 2010. Does Microsoft (or anyone for that matter) have any kind of tool that I could paste the key into and get a result that identifies the software product the key is meant for (or at least a good estimate)? Note: I have searched and searched many times on the Internet, but the only results I ever find are how to recover a lost product key by using something like Nirsoft ProduKey. This is not what I am looking for.

  • How to recover Windows Vista product key?

    Two years ago I've bought asus laptop with Windows Vista preinstalled. I also received recovery dvd with it. Now, I want to reinstall Windows and fully format the hard drive. However, the sticker with Windows product key under the laptop is unreadable. I tried recovering the key with ProduKey and similar software but they show another product key - it is different than the one from the sticker (I checked on another asus laptop and on my dell laptop). Do you know if I it is possible to reinstall the operating system with the product key obtained from ProduKey? If not, how can I retrieve the product key? It seems stupid that it was only placed on the sticker that is destroyed after some time if you frequently hold the laptop on your lap. I've tried ProduKey and Recover Keys and they show the same key. However, it's not the one from the sticker. Thanks in advance for help.

    I have a network with DHCP enabled, and also a computer that dual boots operating systems and has different SSH keys on each (and yes, I would like to keep different keys on each rather than copying the same identity/private key to each). Because the IP address does not change between operating systems because the MAC address is the same, when connecting to ssh, even when not using the IP address but the hostname via DNS/mDNS, I get the warning: Warning: the RSA host key for 'hostname' differs from the key for the IP address '192.168.1.172' Offending key for IP in /Users/user/.ssh/known_hosts:37 Matching host key in /Users/user/.ssh/known_hosts:38 Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? How can I surpress the warning when the hostname differs from the IP address for that hostname, but retain the ability to check host keys are the same for each hostname? (each OS has a unique hostname)

I have the password of the "root" AWS account and of course I can manage the users and credentials through IAM, but we have a lot of users and I don't want to look at them one by one looking for the owner of the key.   • Remote Desktop Printing With Color

    Our ACCPACC administration software runs on an off-site dedicated hosted computer, running Windows 2003 Server with a completely different NT DOMAIN. We have many users connecting to that computer remotely to perform administrative tasks such as printing cheques, printing invoices, printing POs, packing slips and so on. Basically the setup is that we are all connecting using Remote Desktop Protocol (local computers are Mac OS.X, XP SP3, Vista and Windows 7). At our office we have a DOCUCOLOR 242 printer. When printing from the ACCPACC software, it prints to the local printer in our office. This is because we are using RDP features to connect printer ressources to the remote computer. This almost works now. I had to install the printer driver software on the remote 2003 Server for the printer sharing to work. Now, everyone is able to print black and white but color is out. NOTES: Normal users on that Windows 2003 server are running as part of a Group Policy Object to restrict what can be done. I took one of these normal users and gave him all domain administrator rights, no effect still B&W only. I took this account and moved it OUT of GPO policies, as a normal account instead, no effect still B&W only. It seems only MY account (which is domain administrator AND a normal account not part of the GPO objects) can actually print with color. This is the account that was used for installing the printer driver software. How can I manage to get everyone to print in color? Any suggestions as to what to try next?

  • How to continuously fade a BitmapData to a certain color?

    I'm drawing stuff on a bitmapData and I need to continuously fade every pixel to 0x808080 while still drawing (its for a DisplacementMapFilter)... I think this illustrates my problem: http://www.ventdaval.com/lab/grey.swf The simpler approach I tried was drawing a semi-transparent grey box on it, but it never reaches a single color (i.e. 0x808081 will never be turned to 0x808080)... The same kind of thing happens with a ColorMatrixFilter trying to progressively reduce the saturation and/or contrast. (the example above is applying a filter with -10 contrast every frame). I'm trying paletteMap now, and I'm sensing this could be the way to go, but I haven't been able to get it... any ideas?

    I have some questions regarding generating keys for ssh access: (1) Supposed there are two computers running ssh server service and I have generated a pair of key files on computer A and copy the public file to computer B. Is it true that this is only a one-way key: We only gave computer A permission to access computer B, not gave computer B permission to access computer A? If I now want to ssh from computer B to computer A, must I generat another pair of key files on computer B and copy the public file to computer A? (2) If I would like to connect a single local computer to several remote servers, is it to generate a common pair of key files only once on the local and copy the same public file to the remote servers, or to generate different pair of key files on the local for different remote servers? (3) If I would like to connect several local computers to a single remote server, when copying the public files from different local computers to the remote server, is it to combine them together into a single authorized_keys file or store them in different authorized_keys files? (4) If there are several servers shared the same file system by, for example, NFS, how to generate keys and arrange the key files for accessing from one server to the other? Also how to still generate keys and arrange the key files for a local computer to access anyone of the servers? All the machines above are Linux.Please provide examples and commands in your reply so that I can better understand how to solve the problems. Thanks and regards!

Enter file in which to save the key (/var/www/user/.ssh/id_rsa): Created directory '/var/www/user/.ssh'. Your public key has been saved in /var/www/user/.ssh/id_rsa.pub. However othe side, CI server copies the key to the host but still asks password ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub user@webserver-address user@webserver-address's password: Now try logging into the machine, with "ssh 'user@webserver-address'", and check in: .ssh/authorized_keys to make sure we haven't added extra keys that you weren't expecting. I checked on the web server and the CI server public key has been copied to web server authorized_keys but when I connect, It asks password. ssh 'user@webserver-address' user@webserver-address's password: If I try use root user rather than my created user (both users are with copied public keys).     I'd like to be able to stop the Windows Key from activating the Start Menu on Windows 7. I don't want to disable the Windows Key completely. I'd like Ctrl + Esc to still open the Start Menu. I know that you can use AutoHotKey to disable the Windows Key completely.     Like in Office 2007 the default color scheme for 2010 is blue. If you are not a fan of it, here we show you how to change it to silver or black. In this example we are using Microsoft Word, but it works the same way in Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint as well. Once you change the color scheme in one Office application, it will change it for all of the other apps in the suite. Change Color Scheme To change the color scheme click on the File tab to access Backstage View and click on Options. In Word Options the General section should open by default…use the dropdown menu next to Color Scheme to change it to Silver, Blue, or Black then click OK. Here is what Black looks like…who knows why Microsoft decided to leave the blue around the edges. This is the default Blue color scheme… And finally we take a look at the Silver color scheme in Excel… That is all there is to it! It would be nice if they would incorporate other color schemes to Office 2010, as some of you may not be happy with only three choices.
