  • How to keep a team well-trained?

    Hi dear fellows, I'm currently mentoring a small team of 4 junior dev in small software company. They are very smart and often achieve their tasks with a high-quality job but I'm sure they still can do better - actually I have exactly the same feeling for myself :) -. Besides some of them are more "junior" than other. So I would like to find of a funny way to improve their CS skills (design, coding, testing, algorithmic...) in addition to the experience they acquire in their daily work. For instance, I was thinking of setting up weekly sessions, not longer than 2 hours, where we could get together to work on challenging CS exercises. A bit like a coding dojo. I'm sure the team would enjoy that but is it really a good idea? Would it be efficient in a professional context? They already spend all their week to code so how should I organize that in order for them to get some benefits? Any feedback welcome !

  • Can not use keyboard on unity

    Dear Ubuntu Community, currently I am using Ubuntu 14.04, and few hours ago, an update notifier prompted to install an update. After update finished, it ask for system restart, I think there is some kernel update etc. The problem start after restart, I can type password when login, but after entering unity desktop, my keyboard become suddenly unusable, system doesn't respond to any key press, after few minutes, it lock the screen automatically, but still I can't type password to unlock the screen. I tried to logout (mouse is working properly), and login again, try starting onscreen keyboard, but still have no luck, system still doesn't respond to the key press. I tried to login in console, and keyboard working well, tried to install xfce, and keyboard also working properly, keyboard also working properly when login to unity as guest, it only not working when I login using my account. I also try to reset unity config via unity-tweak-tool --reset-unity , but still no luck any suggestion to resolve this?

  • How to configure Google sitemap links in Wordpress? (without editing its HTML or PHP source code) [duplicate]

    This question already has an answer here: What are the most important things I need to do to encourage Google Sitelinks? 5 answers I run a Wordpress 3.7.1–de_DE site, but don't have much experience with it yet. When my site comes up in a Google search, there are 2 links displayed underneath: I believe these links are called "Google sitemap" and my question is how to configure them in Wordpress. Because while the right link is pointing to the /ueber-mich URL at the website, the left link was pointing to an non-existing /imprint and I had to add that webpage as a workaround for now. And I'd like to change the /imprint to German /impressum anyway (currently I use mod_rewrite to redirect). UPDATE: Dear downvoters and movers, would you mind to READ my question please? My question has been about how to configure Google sitemap links in Wordpress. So it is NOT A DUPLICATE (I do not want to edit the HTML code, I want to find the correct configuration in Wordexpress) and my question SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN MOVED AWAY from wordexpress.stackexchange.com.

  • Creating a Lazy Sequence of Directory Descendants in C#

    My dear friend Craig Andera posted an implementation of a function that descends into a directory in a "lazy" manner, i.e. you get the first descendant back right away and not after all descendants have been calculated.     Beginners and professional, on blogs, in forums and chatrooms - people say it everywhere: C++ oh dear god no The short form of the question: For what reason is C++ so widely disliked and people are horrified by the imagination of using it for some project? I have been using a lot of different languages, including C++ by now, and I can only say that I really like it. I'm far more horrified by Delphi than by C++. Actually, I find it's an almost perfect, compiled language! I've been doing a lot of different projects in C++ as well, ranging from 3D video games to webservers and emulators for old video game consoles. And I still do not see the problem everyone else seems to have with it! It was hard for me to get into it of course, as it is quite complex and has a lot of depth, but after that it's simply great.

  • Yet another suspend/wake up problem [closed]
