  • TFS 2010 build template failing to open in designer - how to fix?

    I can open the DefaultTemplate.xaml that was installed as part of our TFS 2010 RC setup. I created a copy of this template called ApplicationTemplate.xaml and modified it slightly, using the workflow designer in Visual Studio. Now, I can no longer open ApplicationTemplate.xaml. When I try, I receive many errors like the following: Error 2 Assembly 'Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Build.Client' was not found. Verify that you are not missing an assembly reference. Also, verify that your project and all referenced assemblies have been built. C:\Projects\tfs\Hydraulics\BuildProcessTemplates\ApplicationTemplate.xaml 1 1828 Miscellaneous Files However, I can still open and edit the DefaultTemplate.xaml file without any issues. Has anyone else come across this problem, & if so, did you manage to resolve it or did you have to recreate the template?

    I'm going to be switching back and forth between Ruby on Rails projects and some as-of-yet undecided PHP MVC framework projects. Which of the PHP MVC frameworks out there (CakePHP, CodeIgniter?, others?) is most similar to Ruby on Rails in that the most conventions, locations, workflows, etc are preserved? I'm looking for the similarity in the way things are done such as directory structures, conventions, etc, not a pros vs cons in speed, extra features, etc.

  • PHP: Auto Updating subscriptions?

    Hey guys I am currently making a website and I am hopefully going to start a premium service for it. What I am currently looking into right now is how to make an "auto updating" shop which removes 1 day from how many days left the user has left on their premium status. so for example if the users purchases 30 days of premium, each day that 30 with negate 1 so.. 30, 29, 28, 27.. etc and then if the days gets to 0 in will remove premium status. The only way I can think of keeping track of this right now is by manually monitoring each persons premium status but that wouldnt be very practical. What would the best way for me to do this? (hopefully "automatically") Thanks.

    I have a Movie plan table: movie_plans (id, description) Each plan has items, which describe a sequence of movies and the duration in minutes: movie_plan_items (id, movie_plan_id, movie_id, start_minutes, end_minutes) A specific instance of that plan happens in: movie_schedules (id, movie_plan_id, start_at) However the schedule items can be calculated from the movie_plan_items and the schedule start time by adding the minutes create view movie_schedule_items as select CONCAT(p.id, '-', s.id) as id, s.id as movie_schedule_id, p.id as movie_plan_item_id, p.movie_id, p.movie_plan_id, (s.start_at + INTERVAL p.start_minutes MINUTE) as start_at, (s.start_at + INTERVAL p.end_minutes MINUTE) as end_at from movie_plan_items p, movie_schedules s where s.movie_plan_id=p.movie_plan_id; I have a model over this view (readonly), it works ok, except that the id is right now a string. I now want to add a polymorphic property (like comments) to various of the previous tables. Therefore for movie_schedule_items I need a unique and persistent numeric id. I have the following dilemma: I could avoid the id and have movie_schedule_items just use the movie_plan_id and movie_schedule_id as a compound key, as it should. But Rails sucks in this regard. I could create an id using String#hash or a md5, thus making it slower or collision prone (and IIRC String#hash is no longer persistent across processes in Ruby 1.9) Any ideas on how to handle this situation?

    I have multiple instances of typedef struct box so box box1, box box2 etc. The members of the struct are length, width, height etc. typedef struct { int width; int height; } box; box box1; box box2; How can I create a function that operates on all the width members of each box instance? My confusion is how do I pass a pointer to a typedef struct member that works across all instances of box. I know how to pass a pointer to a specific instance member like box1.width but how to pass .width and then do box1.width=value; box2.width=value; box3.width=value; within the function?

    So i'm trying to send a String[] Array/List over an open socket connection. My current code doesn't seem to works as it returns null as the value. is this possible?

  • Can anyone explain these differences between two similar i7 processors? [closed]

    I have two systems I've just built. They both have i7 processors and Asus P8Z77 motherboards. When I run a simple processor loop benchmark that I wrote in Delphi some time back I get one machine showing nealry twice as fast as the other. I then used CPU-Z to dump me the details of the hardware and I see that the fast machine shows: Processor 1 ID = 0 Number of cores 4 (max 8) Number of threads 8 (max 16) Name Intel Core i7 2700K Codename Sandy Bridge Specification Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2700K CPU @ 3.50GHz Package (platform ID) Socket 1155 LGA (0x1) CPUID 6.A.7 Extended CPUID 6.2A Core Stepping D2 Technology 32 nm TDP Limit 95 Watts Core Speed 3610.7 MHz Multiplier x FSB 36.0 x 100.3 MHz Stock frequency 3500 MHz the slow machine shows: Processor 1 ID = 0 Number of cores 4 (max 8) Number of threads 8 (max 16) Name Intel Core i7 2600K Codename Sandy Bridge Specification Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz Package (platform ID) Socket 1155 LGA (0x1) CPUID 6.A.7 Extended CPUID 6.2A Core Stepping D2 Technology 32 nm TDP Limit 95 Watts Core Speed 1648.2 MHz Multiplier x FSB 16.0 x 103.0 MHz Stock frequency 3400 MHz i.e the slow machine has a 2600k to the fast machine 2700k. The very different "Multiplier x FSB" must be significant but I dont understand how two processors with a very 'similar' number can be so different.   • UPS power requirements for server

    Greetings! So, I just placed an order for a new server. The company recommended that I get a 3000W UPS. (!) As best as I could I calculated the following wattage consumption based on benchmarked data or datasheets provided by the manufacturers of each component: number watts **total watts** MoBo 1 240 240 CPUs (E5540) 2 80 160 RAID cards (3ware) 2 18 36 RAM (6x4GB) 6 3 18 DVD drive 1 7 7 floppy 1 2 2 RE4 drives 8 7 56 WD20 drives 8 6 48 Intel X25 SSD 2 0.15 0.3 total = 567 So that is for the PSU requirements only. The PSUs in the machine are a 720W for the master node and 800W each for two subsystems. That's a total of 2320W that can be delivered by these PSUs. But that is 4X the amount being consumed, at most, by the components. I didn't count case fans or the eSATA card (3W maybe?) or what the PSUs themselves require but assuming I double or triple my calculations I'm not even remotely close to the 3000W UPS I was suggested to get. They run at least $1100. I could get a 2000W for about $750 or a 1500W for $450 and still be well over my estimated power need. I don't think I need a whole lot of run time in the case of a power outage, maybe 20 minutes max, enough time to shutdown if the power doesn't come on within 5-10 minutes. Any thoughts? Am I off on my calculations? Did I overlook something major? If so what are your suggestions for a UPS? Thanks!

  • Auto populate Outlook with other users' calendars

    In Outlook 2007, when in Calendar view, there's a category (group) of calendars on the left hand bar titled "People's Calendars". We're migrating from a system where all employees have access to read and write to all other employees' calendars (via a 3rd party Web Calendar). Is it possible, from an admin level, to auto-populate this People's Calendars category in everyone's Outlook with all the employees in the company, and grant everyone read / write access to everyone else's calendars?   • What is the reason for high power consumption in 12.04?

    I haven't seen this exact question posted or any related answers, so I'm re-posting. Here is the problem: After upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, my t420s laptop idles above 20 watts (right now with only Chrome running, I'm using 25.4 W) I had a similar problem with Ubuntu 11.10, but after much tweaking the power consumption came down < 10 W on idle. The primary culprit to the 11.10 problem was supposedly fixed by default in 12.04. So my question is, what is happening now? Computer: Lenovo Thinkpad t420s, with Intel i5-2520M @2.5 Ghz - 2x 4gb ram - disk 0 HITACHI 320 Gb - disk 1 SATA SSD 128 Gb

    I am having some problems parsing this piece of XML using SimpleXML. There is always only one Series element, and a variable number of Episode elements beneath. I want to parse XML so I can store the Series data in one table, and all the Episode data in another table.
