  • Is there a limit of emails/pictures per Gravatar account?

    - by Steve Taylor
I'm building a site to connect patients to doctors. Each doctor will have a profile picture. I'm quite happy to manually maintain the profile pictures as there won't be that many doctors nor will they have a need to change their picture very often, if at all. I thought of using Gravatar to host all these profile pictures. The idea is to create a single Gravatar account then keep adding email addresses to it in the form [email protected] and associating each one with a new image. Does anyone know, however, if I will run into any per-account limit? If so, it wouldn't be feasible because I would end up with a bunch of Gravatar accounts instead of just the one.

  • HTG Explains: How Internet Explorer Saves Your Passwords and How to Manage Them

    - by Taylor Gibb
Privacy is very important when it comes to the digital world, but do you know exactly how your browser saves your passwords ? Read on to find out what goes on behind the scenes. When it comes to web applications, there are many different types of authentication. One of the types is called basic authentication, which is when you navigate to website and a dialog box opens to ask for a username and password. This also happens to be the authentication mechanism defined in the RFC for HTTP. You can see in the screen shot above that there is a check box that you can use to remember your credentials, but what does that do ? You might also ask yourself what happens if you are not using Basic authentication. There is another type of authentication called Form authentication, this is when the authentication is built right into the web application, like the How-To Geek website. This allows the Developer to control the look and feel of the form that we use to log in. • Offset Forward vector of object based on Rotation

    - by Taylor
I'm using the Bullet 3D physics engine in a iOS application running openGL ES 1.1 Currently I'm accepting info from the gyroscope to allow the user to "look around" a 3d world that follows a bouncing ball (note: it only takes in the yaw to look around 360 degrees). Im also accepting information from the accelerometer based on the tilt to push the ball. As of right now, to move forward, the user tilts the devise forward (using the accelerometer); to move to the right, the user tilts the devise to the right and so on. The forward vector is currently along it's local Z-axis. The problem is that I want to change the ball bounce based on where the user has changed the view. If I change the view, the ball bounces in the fixed direction. I want to change the forward facing direction so that when a user changes the view (say to the look at the right of the world, the user rotates the device), tilting the devise forward will result in a forward force in that direction. Basically, I want the forward vector to take the rotation into consideration. Sorry if I didn't explain the issue well enough, its kind of confusing to write down.

  • Skype 4.2 crashes and bugs on 13.10

    - by Juhani Taylor
I've installed Skype and it appears to work fine right up until the point where I try to call someone. If I try to video call someone then the programme freezes and I have to force quit. I've tried several 'solutions' I've found on various forums but none seem to work. Now, when I try to call the Echo service as a test to see if the bug's fixed, it seems to connect and start the non-video call, except that it's completely silent. No audio at all. Any help? It seems to be 2 separate issues: audio and generic crashing. Anyone come across these and found solutions?
