    I am trying to portabilize every program I use if possible, and Notepad++ is on the list. The only problem is that I've had a native installation until now so that I'm not totally sure which settings files need to be moved to the portable directory. Surely there's a function tucked away somewhere in NPP exactly for this purpose, or some plugin out there? I mean the developers have literally thought of everything else, yet this is the one thing I cannot find specifically anywhere in the NPP wiki or otherwise, and I don't want to miss an important file. Here is the closest I've gotten: Notepad++'s configuration files and Where are all the files? Should I just copy every configuration file listed on the first link?

  • Migrate 3 terabytes of files to a new server windows 2003

    We have a new file server to handle the obscene amount of files generated by the company (PDFs, XLS, DOCs and JPGs). Files being moved to the new server total about 3tb. The problem is we can't take the company down for days to move the files. The other problem is the applications creating all these files have to reference previous files, so we can't simply point them to the new server. Also, there isn't an option to have the applications create files on the new server, but reference the old server for existing files. The servers are x64 win2003 r2. Both servers are on the same subnet. DFS doesn't work. Is there an application that can handle this amount of data to copy the files over, throttle bandwidth, and do a 'merge'? By merge I mean constantly copying over newly created files until the two servers are synched.

  • Migrate active directory to Google apps for business

    I've got a problem migrating active directory to Gapps. I'm stuck on google apps directory sync (GADS) where it just gives the error "java.lang.NullPointerException" after testing the connection during the LDAP configuration step. I checked the logs and I've pretty much determined that port 389 (standard LDAP port) isn't listening on the exchange server. I've tried telneting to it (from another machine in the same network) with no luck but I can telnet to other ports, that i know are open, successfully. I know they're open because I used portqry and netstat to see them. I'm suspecting that the active directory isn't even installed/running on this machine because there's no active directory services at all running on it. There's no active directory services that say they're NOT running either though. Is it possible AD is installed somewhere else? does it have to be on a machine inside the same network? I found the domain controller and it's host name and when I telnet with port 389, it works however GADS still gives me the same exact error when I substitute that server in. Actually, no matter what ridiculous settings i put into GADS, i still get that same NullPointer error. If i could get some different error than that NullPointer, i'd call that a successful day.

    I have a repository using Rational ClearCase Explorer 2003.06.10+ which I want to migrate into Serena ChangeMan Version Manager 8.1.4.2. Is this possible? The ClearCase repository was not used for all it's functions, just as a place to hold copies of documents, so the only thing I need to keep is the files and their version histories.

    Hello, I am trying to migrate a Fedora DS (1.2.2) to a new server (1.2.7.5). The process has been painful to say the least. The old server (1.2.2) was also an upgrade from an old fedora DS setup, so it does not contain migrate-ds-admin.pl. I found this question, but the URL does not open. I am aware that I need to use migrate-ds-admin.pl, but I am clueless. How do I use it? I assume this works like this: 1. Copy migrate-ds-admin.pl from server which has 1.2.7 to 1.2.2 2. Run migrate-ds-admin.pl to export the schema+ldif from 1.2.2 3. Import the schema+ldif to 1.2.7 using migrate-ds-admin.pl. If the above is true, then what parameters are need for export and import? Note: ./ldif2db -n NetscapeRoot -i /root/NetscapeRoot.ldif ./ldif2db -n userRoot -i /root/userRoot.ldif The above two commands work like a charm, but since the schema (custom schema) is not migrated, I see alot of errors during import.

    I'm using SQLAlchemy Migrate to keep track of database changes and I'm running into an issue with removing a foreign key. I have two tables, t_new is a new table, and t_exists is an existing table. I need to add t_new, then add a foreign key to t_exists. Then I need to be able to reverse the operation (which is where I'm having trouble). t_new = sa.Table("new", meta.metadata, sa.Column("new_id", sa.types.Integer, primary_key=True) ) t_exists = sa.Table("exists", meta.metadata, sa.Column("exists_id", sa.types.Integer, primary_key=True), sa.Column( "new_id", sa.types.Integer, sa.ForeignKey("new.new_id", onupdate="CASCADE", ondelete="CASCADE"), nullable=False ) ) This works fine: t_new.create() t_exists.c.new_id.create() But this does not: t_exists.c.new_id.drop() t_new.drop() Trying to drop the foreign key column gives an error: 1025, "Error on rename of '.\my_db_name\#sql-1b0_2e6' to '.\my_db_name\exists' (errno: 150)" If I do this with raw SQL, i can remove the foreign key manually then remove the column, but I haven't been able to figure out how to remove the foreign key with SQLAlchemy? How can I remove the foreign key, and then the column?

  • Classic ASP and MVC side-by-side, different projects?

    I've tried asking this in a few different ways, but let's give it another shot (as I've yet to receive an answer and this is driving me nuts!) I have a very large classic ASP 3.0 application (~350K lines) that I want to start migrating to ASP.NET MVC. I'd like to keep the old ASP files in a separate project from the MVC stuff. Ideas on how to debug these? Should I just dump the files in the same folder and create two different projects ( a WAP and an MVC app) that reference the relevant files and folders required by each? This should work, but does anyone have a better idea? I need the ability to migrate small parts of the application individually as this will probably take a year or two to complete.

    Hi, I have a few hundred phpld sites to move - each has its own cpanel, ( & the target may have shared cpanel) & I can do a full cpanel backup on the original server, but I don't have whm on the current host - the backups are fairly easy to organize but the installs so far means picking through files & setting up db's & mail etc by hand - I am thinking there ought to be an easier ie scripted way to do the installs or at least some parts - can anyone please suggest something ? I would like to migrate the stats at the same time Thanks M

    A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Trying to migrate a database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. All the documentation I have read covers, in great detail, how to migrate the structure. I have found very little documentation on migrating the data. The schema has 13 tables (which have been migrated successfully) and 9 GB of data. MySQL version: 5.1.x PostgreSQL version: 8.4.x I want to use the R programming language to analyze the data using SQL select statements; PostgreSQL has PL/R, but MySQL has nothing (as far as I can tell). A New Hope Create the database location (/var has insufficient space; also dislike having the PostgreSQL version number everywhere -- upgrading would break scripts!): sudo mkdir -p /home/postgres/main sudo cp -Rp /var/lib/postgresql/8.4/main /home/postgres sudo chown -R postgres.postgres /home/postgres sudo chmod -R 700 /home/postgres sudo usermod -d /home/postgres/ postgres All good to here. Next, restart the server and configure the database using these installation instructions: sudo apt-get install postgresql pgadmin3 sudo /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.4 stop sudo vi /etc/postgresql/8.4/main/postgresql.conf Change data_directory to /home/postgres/main sudo /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.4 start sudo -u postgres psql postgres \password postgres sudo -u postgres createdb climate pgadmin3 Use pgadmin3 to configure the database and create a schema. Replies of the Jedi At this point I am stumped. Where do I go from here (what are the steps) to convert climate-my.sql to climate-pg.sql so that they can be executed against PostgreSQL? How to I make sure the indexes are copied over correctly (to maintain referential integrity; I don't have constraints at the moment to ease the transition)? How do I ensure that adding new rows in PostgreSQL will start enumerating from the index of the last row inserted (and not conflict with an existing primary key from the sequence)? How do you ensure the schema name comes through when transforming the data from MySQL to PostgreSQL inserts?     Using software RAID only Is it possible to start with a 2TB disk full of data and safely add it to a RAID 1 array? Is it then possible to add a third disk and migrate the RAID 1 array into a RAID 5 array? OR Is it possible to start with a 2 disk degraded RAID 5 array and then add the third disk later to create a health RAID 5 array?     When I try rake db:migrate, I get the following error: !!! The bundled mysql.rb driver has been removed from Rails 2.2. Please install the mysql gem and try again: gem install mysql. rake aborted! no such file to load -- mysql And when I try to "gem install mysql" Building native extensions. This could take a while... ERROR: Error installing mysql: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. /usr/bin/ruby extconf.rb Can't find header files for ruby. Gem files will remain installed in /usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/mysql-2.8.1 for inspection. I checked the rubygems folder and mysql gem has been installed. Any ideas? Cheers
