If you did that and find nothing, the mistake might be due to the fact that you use some special web-containers which do not support registering context-listeners via TLD files and a context listener is not setup in your web.xml. The issue is that when I call users.Except(matches) The matching users are not being excluded at all! I am expecting 6 users ut "excludes" contains all 8 users instead. Since all I'm doing in GetMatchingUsers(IEnumerable users) is taking the IEnumerable and just returning the IUsers whose ID's match( 2 IUsers in this case), my understanding is that by default "Except" will use reference equality for comparing the objects to be excluded. Is this not how "Except" behaves? What is even more interesting is that if I materialize the objects using .ToList() and then get the matching users, and call "Except", everything works as expected! Like so: IEnumerable users = doc.Element("Users").Elements("User").Select (u = new User { ID = (int)u.Attribute("id"), Name = (string)u.Attribute("name") } ).OfType().ToList(); //explicity materializing all objects by calling ToList() var matches = User.GetMatchingUsers(users); var excludes = users.Except(matches); // excludes now contains 6 users as expected I don't see why I should need to materialize objects for calling "Except" given that its defined on IEnumerable? Any suggesstions / insights would be much appreciated.

    I'm looking for some STL, boost, or similar container to use the same way indexes are used in databases to search for record using a query like this: select * from table1 where field1 starting with 'X'; or select * from table1 where field1 like 'X%'; I thought about using std::map, but I cannot because I need to search for fields that "start with" some text, and not those that are "equal to". I could create a sorted vector or list and use binary search (breaking the set in 2 in each step by reading the element in the middle and seeing if it's more or less than 'X'), but I wonder if there is some ready-made container I could use without reinventing the wheel?

ArrayList<Class> typeList; and I have some input values; ArrayList<Object> values; How to cast some value to some type if I know which type from the typeList is the values; typeList.get(i).cast(values.get(i)); <- this is not working??? Actualy I generate dynamic form in runtime. With Java reflection I get parameterTypes from methods from some class, I generate form with input fields and then i want to cast the text from the input fields to specific types from the paramterTypes that I got with Java reflection from some class.

I was expecting one of the url will throw timeout error after 3 second since another url lock it atleast for 10 seconds due to thread sleep. Surprisingly I do not get any timeout error rather second page call run after 10 seconds as first call finish execution. But I am appending some url parameter (e.g. http://localhost.local/test.cfm?q=1) will throw error. Also I am calling same url in different browser then one of the call will throw timeout issue. Is lock based on session and url?   • Is it safe to delete rotated MySQL binary logs?

    I have a MySQL server with binary logging active. Once a days logs file is "rotated", i.e. MySQL seems to stop writing to it and creates and new log file. For example, I currently have these files in /var/lib/mysql -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 10485760 Jun 7 09:26 ibdata1 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 5242880 Jun 7 09:26 ib_logfile0 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 5242880 Jun 2 15:20 ib_logfile1 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 1916844 Jun 6 09:20 mybinlog.000004 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 61112500 Jun 7 09:26 mybinlog.000005 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 15609789 Jun 7 13:57 mybinlog.000006 -rw-rw---- 1 mysql mysql 54 Jun 7 09:26 mybinlog.index and mybinlog.000006 is growing. Can I simply take mybinlog.000004 and mybinlog.000005, zip them up and transfer to another server, or I need to do something else before? What info is stored in mybinlog.index? Only the info about the latest binary log? UPDATE: I understand I can delete the logs with PURGE BINARY LOGS which updates mybinlog.index file. However, I need to transfer logs to another computer before deleting them (I test if backup is valid on another machine). To reduce the transfer size, I wish to bzip2 the files. What will PURGE BINARY LOGS do if log files are not "there" anymore?

  • How to provide a temporary URL for custom domain in Wordpress multisite install?

    I have a website with Wordpress 3.0.4 installation, set up as multisite install. Some users register their blogs as something.mydomain.com and that works automatically. However, some users prefer to use their own domain names like something.com. This also works fine once they set up the CNAME record to point to my server. However, it takes 24-48 hours for that change to take effect. I'd like to be able to offer the user a temporary URL that would work out-of-the-box until the DNS changes are propagated, but I have not idea how to do it? For example: something.com should also be accessible as: something.tempdomain.com I have control over "tempdomain" DNS setup. I thought about replacing $_SERVER variables in index.php or .htaccess file when temporary domain is accessed, and this works for the first page load. However, all the links in generated page point to original domain which is not yet ready. UPDATE: I managed to get it working for the site itself by manipulating $_SERVER variables so Wordpress thinks it's creating a page for different site. I did this in index.php, so before any WP code is run I'm using ob_start and ob_get_contents later to get the page generated by Wordpress and then str_replace the links back to temporary domain. The problem I still have is the admin page. Even though the link says: http://site1.tempdomain.com/wp-admin when opened in browser it redirects to maindomain.com/wp-signup.php?new=site1.tempdomain I don't understand how WP detects that I supplied "fake" domain when $_SERVER vars are changed?

Use an efficient procedure for multiplication of large numbers of arbitrary length. Analyze the efficiency of your algorithm. I decided to take the (semi) easy way out and use the Russian Peasant Algorithm. It works like this: a * b = a/2 * 2b if a is even a * b = (a-1)/2 * 2b + a if a is odd My pseudocode is: rpa(x, y){ if x is 1 return y if x is even return rpa(x/2, 2y) if x is odd return rpa((x-1)/2, 2y) + y } I have 3 questions: Is this efficient for arbitrary length numbers? I implemented it in C and tried varying length numbers. The run-time in was near-instant in all cases so it's hard to tell empirically... Can I apply the Master's Theorem to understand the complexity...? a = # subproblems in recursion = 1 (max 1 recursive call across all states) n / b = size of each subproblem = n / 1 - b = 1 (problem doesn't change size...?) f(n^d) = work done outside recursive calls = 1 - d = 0 (the addition when a is odd) a = 1, b^d = 1, a = b^d - complexity is in n^d*log(n) = log(n) this makes sense logically since we are halving the problem at each step, right? What might my professor mean by providing arbitrary length numbers "as strings". Why do that? Many thanks in advance

  • Need to get to the foreign keys of an entity marked as "Deleted" for auditing

    I'm using v1 of EF(.NET 3.5 SP1). I'm subscribing to the SavingChanges event of the ObjectContext wherein I audit deletes for a particular entity type. I need to get to the foreign keys of the entity being deleted i.e EntityKeys of the related entities (RelatedEnds) but the EntityKeys of the related entities are nulls. Is there any way to get to the foreign keys of an entity which has been marked for deletion? Does EF null out the EntityKeys of all RelatedEnds for an entity which has been marked for deletion? If so, is there a way I can get hold of the foreign keys?
