• I need a form to tie MySQL Records together (i.e., many-to-many relationships).

  I need a HTML-based form to tie database records together. The user scenario that I envision is somthing like this: A super-user does a search of the database and is delivered a table of records based on that search; each record is numbered with the database-record id. There would also be two text fields next to each record. These text fields would allow: the user to make a reference from one record to another. For example, a user could enter into record id #457 that there is a correlation with record ID #242. The user would also describe the type of relationship it is. This could be with a simple integer that represents the type of relationship between the two records. When the super-user hits the submit button, all of these relationships are saved in a mySqljoin table. One option is to give me advice on how to implement and code this myself in PHP. However, before I reinvent the wheel, another option is to lead me to a free script that does something similar.

• Log4net RollingFileAppender Size rollingStyle file extension

  I am using the RollingFileAppender and the Size rollingStyle. By default it creates backup files with a numbered extension, this drives me nuts. Is it possible to change it so it always uses a defined extension (say .txt or .log) and inserts the number as part of the file name. • Hyper reference links in Latex document starts from the beginning of the page

  Hi, I have a latex document. I am using hyperref, makeidx and glossary packages for my document. Every thing is created fine; table of content (all references works nicely), glossary and index except that page numbers printed in the glossary and index are correct but they point to page numbers starting from the beginning of the document where initial 10 pages are in arabic numbers and then roman numbers from 1 starts. e.g. I have 10 pages for initial front matter (abstract, declaration, table of contents etc etc). After that, mainmatter begins and so does the page numbers in roman from 1. So on this page 1, I have an index entry "hello" Now in the index, it prints "hello 1" which is correct except that when one clicks on 1, then it goes to the right at the beginning of the document rather then numbered page 1.   I seek a tool that can be run on the command line like so: tablescrape 'http://someURL.foo.com' [n] If n is not specified and there's more than one HTML table on the page, it should summarize them (header row, total number of rows) in a numbered list. If n is specified or if there's only one table, it should parse the table and spit it to stdout as CSV or TSV. Potential additional features: To be really fancy you could parse a table within a table, but for my purposes -- fetching data from wikipedia pages and the like -- that's overkill. The Perl module HTML::TableExtract can do this and may be good place to start for writing the tool I have in mind. An option to asciify any unicode. An option to apply an arbitrary regex substitution for fixing weirdnesses in the parsed table.   I have a text area and I want to store the text entered by user in database with html formatting like paragraph break, numbered list. I am using HTMLencode and HTMLdecode for this. Sample of my code is like this: string str1 = Server.HtmlEncode(TextBox1.Text); Response.Write(Server.HtmlDecode(str1)); If user entered text with 2 paragraphs, str1 shows characters \r\n\r\n between paragraphs. but when it writes it to screen, just append 2nd paragraph with 1st. While I'm decoding it, why doesn't it print 2 paragraphs?

• How can I scrape the current webpage with php/javascript?

  I have made the following webpage for generating interactive todo lists: http://robert-kent.com/todo/todo.php Basically, the user pastes a numbered todo list and each task is placed into it's own div with a unique id. Users can add notes to the tasks (done with javascript) and can click the green check when the task is done to hide it. I'd like to add an Export button which would generate a report of which tasks were completed and which were not, along with the user-entered notes. After a bit of searching I understand that what I want to do is scrape the page, but I haven't the faintest idea of the best way to do it. Many of the articles and tutorials I have found with Google involve scraping other sites and don't really explain how I could iterate over each div on the page. • PyQt4 Move QTableWidget row with widgets

  I have the following method in my PyQt4 app. r2 is the number of row to move, and r1 is the position where it should be moved. To clarify: the table is filled with cellWidgets, not widgetItems. def move_row(self, r1, r2): tt = self.tableWidget tt.insertRow(r1) for c in range(tt.columnCount()): tt.setCellWidget(r1, c, tt.cellWidget(r2 + 1, c)) tt.removeRow(r2 + 1) # <--- ??? If I comment out the last line, it behaves as expected: the new row is inserted at position r1, it is filled with widgets from r2 (now it's r2+1), and the r2+1 row is empty. If I even hide this row, it behaves well, though it is not what I want (I have the rows numbered, and I don't want this hidden row to occupy the number). But if I remove the row, the widgets initially owned by it disappear. Looks like their ownership is taken on first placement, and is not changed after the move. Any ideas?

  I've a table with lots of columns. I want to give users the option to select columns to be shown in table. These options would be checkboxes along with the column names. So how can I hide/unhide table columns based on checkboxes? Would hiding (using .hide()) each td in each row work? May be I can assign checkbox value to the location of column in table. So first checkbox means first column and so on. And then recursively hide that 'numbered' td in each row. Would that work?

• Data tweaking code runs fine when executed directly - but never stops when used in trigger

  I have written some code to ensure that items on an order are all numbered (the "position number" or "item number" has been introduced only recently and we did not want to go and change all related code - as it is "asthetics only" and has no functional impact.) So, the idea is to go and check for an records that jave an itemno of NULL or 0 - and then compute one and assign it. When executing this code in a query window, it works fine. When putting it into an AFTER INSERT-trigger, it loops forever. • How can I set a counter column value in MySQL?

  I have a table with a "SortID" column that is numbered using consecutive numbers. Whenever a row is deleted, it leaves a gap. Is there a way using pure SQL to update the rows with their row number? Something like this: UPDATE tbl SET SortID={rowindex} ORDER BY SortID (I realize this isn't valid SQL, that's why I'm asking for help) This should set the first row to #1, the second row to #2... etc. Is this possible using SQL? Please forgive the poorly worded question, I'm not really sure the best way to ask this. :)

Instead we want a plain-text markup editor with a client-side previewer, plus some UI niceties (toolbar, undo, keyboard shortcuts) to make editing markup easier.

When take print of this web page, the first page will be the cover page and the remaining pages contains clients details. The pages except the cover page should be numbered “page x of y” in the centre of the footer. The top of each page should display the client name that is the subject of the sub-report. • Is it possible to install IDLE on Python 2.5 and Ubuntu

  Ubuntu Software Center offers versions of IDLE numbered 2.6 and upwards. If I have to use Python 2.5 (because of Google App Engine compatibility), will it be possible to still use IDLE? I am of course assuming that the there is some necessity for the IDLE version number to be the same as the Python version number. Presently, my invocations of IDLE fail because of _tkinter not being found. Likewise it is not found when I try to do an import _tkinter interactively. I then proceeded to install Tcl and Tk and python-tk and one of the IDLE versions being offered (none were labelled 2.5) but _tkinter still does not get imported.

  We have a javascript function we use to track page stats internally. However, the URLs it reports many times include the page numbers for search results pages which we would rather not be reported. The pages that are reports are of the form: http://www.test.com/directory1/2 http://www.test.com/directory1/subdirectory1/15 http://www.test.com/directory3/1113 Instead we'd like the above reported as: http://www.test.com/directory1 http://www.test.com/directory1/subdirectory1 http://www.test.com/directory3 Please note that the numbered 'directory' and 'subdirectory' names above are just for example purposes and that the actual subdirectory names are all different, don't necessarily include numbers at the end of the directory name, and can be many levels deep. Currently our JavaScript function produces these URLs using the code: var page = location.hostname+document.location.pathname; I believe we need to use the JavaScript replace function in combination with some regex but I'm at a complete loss as to what that would look like. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!

• Maintaining sort order of database table rows

  Say I have at database table containing information about a news article in each row. The table has an integer "sort" column to dictate the order in which the articles are to be presented on a web site. How do I best implement and maintain this sort order. The problem I want to avoid is having the the articles numbered 1,2,3,4,..,100 and when article number 50 suddenly becomes interesting it gets its sort number set to 1 and then all articles between them must have their sort number increased by one. Sure, setting initial sort numbers to 100,200,300,400 etc. leaves some space for moving around but at some point it will break. Is there a correct way to do this, maybe a completely different approach? Added-1: All article titles are shown in a list linking to the contents, so yes all sorted items are show at once. Added-2: An item is not necessarily moved to the top of the list; any item can be placed anywhere in the ordered list.

• Selecting items from events, as evenly spaced as possible

  If I have an event that happens 15 times a second (numbered 1 - 15), but I only want to process it 3 times I can choose [1], [6] and [11],. It's important that the events I process are as evenly spaced as possible and take into account wrap-around, i.e. the events are continuous 13, 14, 15, 1, 2, 3 etc. If I want 4 items the best I can do is [1], [5], [9] & [13]. Is there a general algorithm that will calculate which events I need to process given the total number of events (total) and the number to process (processAmount).

  I'm an admin for a page and I want to give certain users dynamic control of the menubar layout. The ideal would be a page with a list with menu items and arrows pointing up and down with each item and when you click them the item is reordered. I have a pretty basic idea of how I can do it but I would like some suggestions. The items are stored in MySQL and I only need help figuring out how the items should be ordered or numbered and how to re-order them. This probably needs some javascript trickery and I'm not familiar with JS.

  Hi all, I am developing a small web app that uses jquery quite a lot. In my app a user can hover an image, which becomes bigger after a few seconds, giving him more details. The problem is that when the image enlarges the image, it takes over the area of the nearby images as well. Now, if the user goes over the second red square (numbered as 2) I would like the currently enlarged image to disappear and instead enlarge the image pictured below as square two. I am not much of a painter, but I have attached a small image to help illustrate the problem. In short, How can I tell jquery to detect when the mouse is over red square number two, yet not raising the event if the mouse is over green square. [in my demo picture, hovering on point]

  I have a localized string which needs to take a few variables. However, in localization it is important that the order of the variables can change from language to language. So this is not a good idea: NSString *text = NSLocalizedString(@"My birthday is at %@ %@ in %@", nil); In some languages some words come before others, while in others it's reverse. I lack of an good example at the moment. How would I provide NAMED variables in a formatted string? Is there any way to do it without some heavy self-made string replacements? Even some numbered variables like {%@1}, {%@2}, and so on would be sufficient... is there a solution?

  I was playing with the Stack Exchange Data Explorer and ran this query: http://odata.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/q/2828/rising-stars-top-50-users-ordered-on-rep-per-day Notice down in the results, rows 11 and 12 have the same value and so are mis-numbered, even though the row_number() function takes the same order by parameter as the query. I know the correct fix here is to specify an additional tie-breaker column in the order by clauses, but I'm more curious as to why/how the row_number() function returned different results on the same data? If it makes a difference anywhere, this runs on Azure.
