  I am completely a newbie in continuous integration but I am trying to learn it. Here is my set up. I have a main production location. Computer A. I have a virtual machine hosting Windows Server 2008 OS which have Cruise Control.NET installed and running. Computer B I use Mercurial as my source control tool installed in Computer A. Everything is configured and I can see Cruise Control report on my Computer B Web server and I can me my repository on Computer A Web server. The problem is the following : From my Computer B's Cruise Control console I have the following error : Source control failure : Unable to execute file [c:\develop\CCnet\WorkingDir\hg]. The file may not exist or may not be executable. File not found 'C:\develop\CCnet\CCnetrtifacts\msbuils-results.xml.   I've been playing around with the Android SDK, and I am a little unclear on saving an applications state.   I asked a question this morning about an integration problem between Gallio and Team City. I changed the msbuild file to use the proper syntax with the latest Gallio build script API.   I have been trying to get my MBUnit tests suite to work on Team City for many days now without any success. My solution builds no problem. The program is with my tests. After googling for Gallio integration with Team City I tried many ways to make this thing work and I think I am close but need help. I have included the gallio bin directory to my repository and also on my TC Server. • Problem with Gallio and TeamCity and the new Visual Studio 2010 release

  I am running TeamCity on a virtual machine. I have installed the new Visual Studio 2010 release yesterday and converted my VS 2008 projects. I also have installed .NET Framework 4 on my virtual machine. Before yesterday all my projects were building succesfully on the CI server but since I installed VS 2010 I get the following error message : error MSB5014: File format version is not recognized. MSBuild can only read solution files between versions 7.0 and 9.0, inclusive. I did change my config on Team City to take into account the new .NET 4 framework : Build Runner : MSBuild Build File Path : CFT.msbuild MSBuild version : Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 MSBuild ToolsVersion : 4.0 Run Platform : x86 I think it has something to do with the fact that now MSBuild must refer to .NET 4 framwork but it seems that it keeps refering to 2.0.

• Setting specified flags before serializing objects

  We have a schema that we serialize and deserialize into an object hierarchy. Some elements are optional in the schema. The xsd tool creates a cs file that inserts a property for each optional element. This property ends in "Specified", i.e. nameSpecified tells the serializer and deserializer to include the optional "name" element when processing. I'm trying to write a method that rips through the object hierarchy using reflection and if a property has a value and it has a "Specified" corresponding property, I want to set the Specified property to true. I've tried to do this using reflection, ie. foreach(PropertyInfo p in MyObject.GetType().GetNestedTypes().GetType().GetProperties() { if the field name ends in Specified check if there is a field with the same name without Specied. If there is, and that field name has a value, then set the field name that ends in Specified to true; } Its the middle bit that I'm having trouble with. I preferably don't want to rip through the hierarchy and create a list of properties ending in Specified and then rip through it again to see if the corresponding name without the ending "Specified" exists and then check if it has a value. And the rip through it again to update all the Specified fields to true. Seems a bit of a long way around :( Anyone have any bright ideas?

• Releasing an OLE IStorage file handle in C#

  I'm trying to embed a PDF file into a Word document using the OLE technique described here: http://blogs.msdn.com/brian_jones/archive/2009/07/21/embedding-any-file-type-like-pdf-in-an-open-xml-file.aspx I've tried to implement to C++ code provided in C# so that the whole project's in one place and am almost there except for one roadblock. When I try to feed the generated OLE object binary data into the Word document I get an IOException. IOException: The process cannot access the file 'C:\Wherever\Whatever.pdf.bin' because it is being used by another process. There is a file handle open the .bin file and I don't know how to get rid of it. I don't know a huge amount about COM - I'm winging it here - and I don't know where the file handle is or how to release it. Here's what my C#-ised code looks like.   I need to kill windows explorer's process (explorer.exe), for that it tried using System.Diagnostics.Process.Kill("Explorer.exe"); It works but the problem is that the explorer starts again, may be windows is doing that, anyway. When i kill explorer.exe with windows task manager, it doesn't come back, its stays killed I want to do whatever taskmanager is doing through my application.

• Stack calling convention between .NET & C on WinCE 6.0

  Hi there. I'm porting a DLL written in C from WinCE 5.0 to WinCE 6.0 on an ARM target. This DLL is called by a .NET software. On WinCE5.0, everything runs fine. On WinCE6, I have the following problem: on InitInstance() of my DLL, I can call anything without problem (for example MessageBox()) or uses recursivity. Passed that point, the DLL is called by .NET code. And then it fails: even the arguments passed by .NET code seem weird. I can call MessageBox() once, but I can't call a function that calls MessageBox() and then that calls itself: recursivity is broken. It seems that the .NET code uses the stack in a different way than my C code. I'm very unfamillar with the Windows world and the company that gives me the .NET application does not understand yet why there is such a failure. Any pointer/hint/advice welcome! Thanks!

These 10 TD elements all have an IDs with the prefix "foo" and a two digit number for its position (e.g., "foo01").   I wish to source a script, print the value of a variable this script defines, and then have this value be assigned to a variable on the command line with command substitution wrapping the source/print commands. This works on ksh88 but not on ksh93 and I am wondering why. $ cat typeset_err.ksh #!/bin/ksh unset _typeset_var typeset -i -r _typeset_var=1 DIR=init # this is the variable I want to print When run on ksh88 (in this case, an AIX 6.1 box), the output is as follows: $ A=$(. ./typeset_err.ksh; print $DIR) $ echo $A init When run on ksh93 (in this case, a Linux machine), the output is as follows: $ A=$(. ./typeset_err.ksh; print $DIR) -ksh: _typeset_var: is read only $ print $A ($A is undefined) The above is just an example script. The actual thing I wish to accomplish is to source a script that sets values to many variables, so that I can print just one of its values, e.g. $DIR, and have $A equal that value. I do not know in advance the value of $DIR, but I need to copy files to $DIR during execution of a different batch script. Therefore the idea I had was to source the script in order to define its variables, print the one I wanted, then have that print's output be assigned to another variable via $(...) syntax. Admittedly a bit of a hack, but I don't want to source the entire sub-script in the batch script's environment because I only need one of its variables. The typeset -r code in the beginning is the error. The script I'm sourcing contains this in order to provide a semaphore of sorts--to prevent the script from being sourced more than once in the environment. (There is an if statement in the real script that checks for _typeset_var = 1, and exits if it is already set.) So I know I can take this out and get $DIR to print fine, but the constraints of the problem include keeping the typeset -i -r. In the example script I put an unset in first, to ensure _typeset_var isn't already defined. By the way I do know that it is not possible to unset a typeset -r variable, according to ksh93's man page for ksh. There are ways to code around this error. The favorite now is to not use typeset, but just set the semaphore without typeset (e.g. _typeset_var=1), but the error with the code as-is remains as a curiosity to me, and I want to see if anyone can explain why this is happening. By the way, another idea I abandoned was to grep the variable I need out of its containing script, then print that one variable for $A to be set to; however, the variable ($DIR in the example above) might be set to another variable's value (e.g. DIR=$dom/init), and that other variable might be defined earlier in the script; therefore, I need to source the entire script to make sure I all variables are defined so that $DIR is correctly defined when sourcing.

• How to include the login form on the Home index page in MVC

  Hi guys I really need your help for this. I am relatively new to programming and I need help to something that could be easy for a experienced programmer. I would like to get the login form that we get for free in an MVC application on the left sidebar of my Home index page instead of the usual Account/Login page. I am facing some problems. First I need a product object to be displayed on my Home Index page as well. What I did is that I added a product object to the LogOnModel that they provide in the AccountModels class and I created a UserControl (partial view) copying the content of the LogOn.aspx view. Now my Home index.aspx as well as my partial view inherits the LogOnModel class. I can see the Login form on my Home Index page as well as my product object BUT the login Form is never empty. The last username and password always appear there. I know I must have forgotten something or have done something wrong or the way did it is completely wrong !! • Problem with NHibernate

  I am trying to get a list of Products that share the Category. NHibernate returns no product which is wrong.
