  • Conditional alternative table row styles in HTML5

    - by Budda
    Is there any changes regarding this questions Conditional alternative table row styles since HTML5 came in? Here is a copy of original question: Is it possible to style alternate table rows without defining classes on alternate tags? With the following table, can CSS define alternate row styles WITHOUT having to give the alternate rows the class "row1/row2"? row1 can be default, so row2 is the issue. <style> .altTable td { } .altTable .row2 td { background-color: #EEE; } </style> <table class="altTable"> <thead><tr><td></td></tr></thead> <tbody> <tr><td></td></tr> <tr class="row2"><td></td></tr> <tr><td></td></tr> <tr class="row2"><td></td></tr> </tbody> </table> Thanks a lot!

  • XPath expression for a phpBB forum

    - by Biff
    I'm writing a Greasemonkey script, and I wanted to change the text of a forum post on a phpBB2 forum by using XPath to select the body of the post that occurs after a certain username, but the whole thing is a giant mess of tables. <tr> <td> <span class="name"> <a> <b>username</b> </span> <span></span> </td> <td> <table> <tbody> <tr></tr> <tr></tr> <tr> <td> <span class="postbody">text of post</span> <span></span> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> </tr> I need to get the postbody span that happens after the username in the b tag equals a certain name, and then mess with the text.

  • What is the best practice for ouputting data from a collection on an ASP.net Page?

    - by bshacklett
    I've ported a page from classic ASP to ASP.net. Part of what happens in this page is that a collection of custom types is generated and then displayed via Response.Write() commands. I'd like to get the business logic separated out into a code behind file (and maybe move this all into a user control), but I can't seem to figure out how I'd actually display the collection once it's been generated. I want to specify a master page here, too, so the code can't stay inline. Here's a very stripped down version of the current code: <% Dim objs as ArrayList = New ArrayList() For i = 0 To 2 Dim obj as Obj = New Obj() obj.setProp1("ASDF") obj.setProp2("FDSA") objs.Add(obj) Next i %> <table> <thead> <tr> <th scope="col">Property 1</th> <th scope="col">Property 2</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <% For Each obj As Obj In objs Dim objProp1 As String = obj.getProp1 Dim objProp2 As String = obj.getProp2 %> <tr> <td><% Response.Write(objProp1)%></td> <td><% Response.Write(objProp2)%></td> </tr> <% Next %> </tbody> </table> What is the ".net" way of doing this?

  • Python web scraping involving HTML tags with attributes

    - by rohanbk
    I'm trying to make a web scraper that will parse a web-page of publications and extract the authors. The skeletal structure of the web-page is the following: <html> <body> <div id="container"> <div id="contents"> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td class="author">####I want whatever is located here ###</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> </div> </body> </html> I've been trying to use BeautifulSoup and lxml thus far to accomplish this task, but I'm not sure how to handle the two div tags and td tag because they have attributes. In addition to this, I'm not sure whether I should rely more on BeautifulSoup or lxml or a combination of both. What should I do? At the moment, my code looks like what is below: import re import urllib2,sys import lxml from lxml import etree from lxml.html.soupparser import fromstring from lxml.etree import tostring from lxml.cssselect import CSSSelector from BeautifulSoup import BeautifulSoup, NavigableString address='http://www.example.com/' html = urllib2.urlopen(address).read() soup = BeautifulSoup(html) html=soup.prettify() html=html.replace('&nbsp', '&#160') html=html.replace('&iacute','&#237') root=fromstring(html) I realize that a lot of the import statements may be redundant, but I just copied whatever I currently had in more source file. EDIT: I suppose that I didn't make this quite clear, but I have multiple tags in page that I want to scrape.

  • WordPress Conditional: Only show if current page title is equal to post meta

    - by Wade D Ouellet
    Hey, I am calling a bunch of posts under a certain post type in WordPress which works but I am trying to add a conditional that will check first if those post's custom meta field (labeled "disc") is equal to the current post's title. Here is what I have but this conditional does not seem to work: <?php $pages = get_posts('numberposts=9999&post_type=song&post_status=publish&order=ASC&orderby=date'); $i = 1; foreach( $pages as $page ) { $content = $page->post_title; if( empty($content) ) continue; $content = apply_filters('the_content', $content); ?> <?php if(get_post_meta($page->ID, "p30-disc", true)=="the_title()") { ?> <tbody class="vevent"> <?php if ($i%2===0) { ?><tr class="gigpress-row gigpress-alt"> <?php } else { ?><tr class="gigpress-row"><?php } ?> <td><?php echo $page->post_title ?></td> <td><?php echo get_post_meta($page->ID, "p30-length", true); ?></td> <td><a href="http://itunes.com/<?php echo get_post_meta($page->ID, "p30-itunes-song", true); ?>">BUY</a></td> </tr> <tr class="gigpress-info"> <td colspan="3"><?php echo $page->post_content ?></td> </tr> </tbody> <?php $i++; } } ?> When I simply echo "get_post_meta($page-ID, "p30-disc", true)" or "the_title()" it spits out their proper values, which are equal, so obviously something is just wrong with that conditional. Thanks, Wade

  • Javascript not able to read data generated by ajax script

    - by user1371033
    I have a situation in which my Jquery Ajax script generates HTML table. And another script is meant to filter the table column by providing a dropdown comprising of unique values in that particular column. If i have static content in html page the filter script works fine. But is not able to read table content when it is generated via Ajax that is during runtime. Any idea what could be the reason. I also tried to align script in order. My Ajax script is here:- $(document).ready(function() { $("#getResults").click(function(){ bug = $("#bug").val(); priority = $("#priority").val(); component = $("#component").val(); fixVersion = $("#fixVersion").val(); dateType = $("#dateType").val(); fromDate = $("#dp2").val(); toDate = $("#dp3").val(); $("#query").empty(); $("tbody").empty(); $.post("getRefineSearchResultsPath", {bug:bug,priority:priority,component:component, fixVersion:fixVersion,dateType:dateType,fromDate:fromDate,toDate:toDate }, function(data) { // setting value for csv report button //clear the value attribute for button first $("#query_csv").removeAttr("value"); //setting new value to "value" attribute of the csv button $("#query_csv").attr("value", function(){ return $(data).find("query").text(); }); $("#query").append("<p class='text-success'>Query<legend></legend><small>" +$(data).find("query").text() +"</small></p>"); var count = 1; $(data).find("issue").each(function(){ var $issue = $(this); var value = "<tr>"; value += "<td>" +count +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('issueKey').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('type').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td><div id='list' class='summary'>" +$issue.find('summary').text() +"</div></td>"; value += "<td><div id='list' class='mousescroll'>" +$issue.find('description').text() +"</div></td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('priority').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('component').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('status').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('fixVersion').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('resolution').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('created').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('updated').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('os').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>" +$issue.find('frequency').text() +"</td>"; value += "<td>"; var number_of_attachement = $issue.find('attachment').size(); if(number_of_attachement > 0){ value += "<div id='list' class='attachment'>"; value += "<ul class='unstyled'>"; $issue.find('attachment').each(function(){ var $attachment = $(this); value += "<li>"; value += "<a href='#' onclick='document.f1.attachmentName.value='" +$attachment.find('attachmentName').text(); value += "';document.f1.issueKey.value='"+$attachment.find('attachmentissueKey').text(); value += "';document.f1.digest.value='"+$attachment.find('attachmentdigest').text(); value += "';document.f1.submit();'>"+$attachment.find('attachmentName').text(); value += "</a>"; value += "</li>"; value += "<br>"; }); value +="</ul>"; value +="</div>"; } value += "</td>"; value += "</tr>"; $("tbody").append(value); count++; }); }); }); }); And my script to filter table is here, I got this script from this link http://www.javascripttoolbox.com/lib/table/ My JSP page is here:- <html> <body> <table class="table table-bordered table-condensed table-hover example sort01 table-autosort:0 table-autofilter table-autopage:10 table-page-number:t1page table-page-count:t1pages table-filtered-rowcount:t1filtercount table-rowcount:t1allcount"> <thead > <tr> <th class="table-sortable:numeric" Style="width:3%;">No.</th> <th class="table-sortable:default" Style="width:5.5%;">Issue Key <br> </th> <th>Type</th> <th Style="text-align: center;">Summary</th> <th Style="text-align: center;">Description</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" id ="priorityColumn" Style="width:5%">Priority</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" >Component</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" Style="width:5%">Status</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default">Fix Version</th> <th class="table-filterable table-sortable:default" Style="width:6%">Resolution</th> <th>Created</th> <th>Updated</th> <th>OS</th> <th>Frequency</th> <th>Attachments</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> </tbody> <tfoot> <tr> <td class="table-page:previous" style="cursor:pointer;"><img src="table/icons/previous.gif" alt="Previous"><small>Prev</small></td> <td colspan="13" style="text-align:center;">Page <span id="t1page"></span>&nbsp;of <span id="t1pages"></span></td> <td class="table-page:next" style="cursor:pointer;">Next <img src="table/icons/next.gif" alt="Previous"></td> </tr> <tr Style="background-color: #dddddd"> <td colspan="15"><span id="t1filtercount"></span>&nbsp;of <span id="t1allcount"></span>&nbsp;rows match filter(s)</td> </tr> <tr class="text-success"> <td colspan="15">Total Results : ${count}</td> </tr> </tfoot> </table> </body> </html>

  • Finding column index using jQuery when table contains column-spanning cells

    - by Brant Bobby
    Using jQuery, how can I find the column index of an arbitrary table cell in the example table below, such that cells spanning multiple columns have multiple indexes? HTML <table> <tbody> <tr> <td>One</td> <td>Two</td> <td id="example1">Three</td> <td>Four</td> <td>Five</td> <td>Six</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2">One</td> <td colspan="2">Two</td> <td colspan="2" id="example2">Three</td> </tr> <tr> <td>One</td> <td>Two</td> <td>Three</td> <td>Four</td> <td>Five</td> <td>Six</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> jQuery var cell = $("#example1"); var example1ColIndex = cell.parent("tr").children().index(cell); // == 2. This is fine. cell = $("#example2"); var example2ColumnIndex = cell.parent("tr").children().index(cell); // == 2. It should be 4 (or 5, but I only need the lowest). How can I do this?

  • How do you ensure a <td> is exactly 200px tall?

    - by George Edison
    I have a table with an image inside: <table style="border: 3px solid rgb(0, 0, 0); width: 800px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; border-collapse: collapse;"> <tbody> <tr> <td style="text-align: center; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"><img style="width: 800px; height: 200px; border: 0px;" alt="Logo" src="logo.png"> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> No matter what I do, there is still a little sliver of white at the bottom of the image. A quick check with Chrome's Inspector reveals that the td has a height of 204px! How can I force the td to be the same height as the image? As you can see above, I've tried all sorts of things...

  • PHP Simple_html_dom issue

    - by stef
    The snippet below loops through some web pages, grabs the html and then looks for table.results and gets the plaintext out of the tags contained in each . $results is ok. Now I'm trying to get the href value of an tag that is found in the second of each . I'd like to include this in the $results array, but I'm not sure how to do this. The third foreach statement gets them but then I need to merge $links with $results. Ideally I'd also get the links in the second foreach statement. Does anyone know how? $i = 0; foreach( $urls as $u ) { $html = file_get_html($u); foreach($html->find('.results tbody tr') as $element) { $result[$i] = $this->extract($element->plaintext); $i++; } foreach($html->find('.results tbody tr a') as $element) { $links[$i] = $element->href; $i++; } } print_r($result); print_r($links); die;

  • Odd DOM Problem with Firefox

    - by Bob
    Hello. I'm experiencing an odd problem when trying to navigate through a table's rows and cells in a while loop using javascript. I'm using Firefox 3.5.7 on Win7 with Firebug enabled. I have this markup: <table> <tbody> <tr id='firstRow'><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> <tr><td>a</td><td>b</td><td>c</td></tr> </tbody> </table> And this javascript: var row = document.getElementById('firstRow'); console.log(row); // Row call 1 while (row) { console.log(row); // Row call 2 row = row.nextSibling; } The problem I'm having is that on the line commented "Row call 1", Firebug is outputting <tr id='firstRow'> as expected. However, in the while loop, Firebug is giving me <tr id='firstRow'> <TextNode textContent="\n"> It is giving me different output for the exact same row, even immediately after the while loop begins executing and nothing else touched the row. For subsequent rows, it of course does not have id='firstRow' as an attribute. The bigger problem this is giving me is that if I'm in the while loop, and I want to access a particular cell of the current row using row.cells[0], Firebug will give me an error that row.cells is undefined. I want to know if someone could shed some light on this situation I am experiencing.

  • [ZF & jQuery] How can I access an URL using AJAX, receive no response, but just manipulate HTML?

    - by rasouza
    I don't know if it's better used with AJAX (tell me, otherwise) but here is my problem: Assuming i'm using Zend Framework, I have a table with several registries from a database with a delete button on each row. That's like this [...] <tbody> <?php foreach ($row as $reg) { ?> <tr <?php if ($reg['value'] < 0) { echo "class='error'"; } ?>> <td><?php echo $reg['creditor'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $reg['debtor'] ?></td> <td><?php echo $reg['reason'] ?></td> <td>R$ <?php echo number_format(abs($reg['value']), 2, ',', ' ')?></td> <td><a href="#" id="<?php echo $reg['id']; ?>" class="delete"><img src="http://192.168.0.102/libraries/css/blueprint/plugins/buttons/icons/cross.png" alt=""/></a></td> </tr> <?php } ?> </tbody> [...] I would like to .fadeOut() and delete (through the link history/delete/id/ROW_ID ) a table row when clicked in the respective delete button. My deleteAction() has no render. It really shouldn't have one, it just deletes a row in the database. Still, how can I make it happen? I tried: // TR Fading when deleted $('.delete') .click(function() { $.ajax({ type: 'GET', url: 'history/delete/id/'+$(this).attr('id'), success: function() { $(this).parent().parent().fadeOut(); } }); return false; }); without success

  • Grouping Rows with Client Side HTML Table Sorting

    - by Alan Storm
    Are there any existing table sorting libraries, or is there a way to configure tablesorter, to sort every two rows? Alternatly, is there a better way to semantially express my table such that standard row sorting will work. I have an html table that looks something like this <table> <thead> <tr> <th>Header 1</th> <th>Header 2</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>Some Data: 1</td> <td>Some More Data:1 </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2">Some text about the above data that puts it in context and visually spans under both of the cells above so as not to create a weird looking table</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Some Data: 2</td> <td>Some More Data: 2</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2">Some text about the above data 2 set that puts it in context and visually spans under both of the cells above so as not to create a weird looking table</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> I'm looking for a way to sort the table such that the table is sorted by the data rows, but the row with the colspan travels with its data and is not sorted separately.

  • MVC : Checkboxes generated using JavaScript not appearing in FormCollection on postback

    - by Andy Evans
    I took over another project (written by one contractor, modified by another and now it's not working) written using MVC/C# where a view that has a table (see below) is dynamically populated using JSON/Javascript - the first column of which is a checkbox. View (spark view engine) <table id='component_list' name='component_list' cellpadding='0' border='0' cellspacing='0'> <thead> <tr> <th>&nbsp;</th> <th>Component</th> <th>Component Type</th> <th>Evenflo Part #</th> <th>Supplier Part #</th> <th>Supplier</th> <th>Requirement</th> <th>Location</th> <th>Region</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> </tbody> </table> When the page is rendered, I look at the source for the page and do not see the table data (I wouldn't expect to see this). However, when the form is posted back, controller, the FormCollection is empty. Supposedly this had been working before the last contractor got their hands on it - which is another post all together. My goal right now is having the checkboxes in the FormCollection. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

  • Get table row based on radio button using prototype/javascript

How should I code the selectCar method? I've tried a few things like: val1 = $('tr input[name=selectedCar]:checked').parent().find('#cars').html(); val1 = $("td input[name='selectedCar']:checked").parents().find('.cars').html(); val1 = $('selectedCar').checked; but I can't get the proper values. I'm using prototype, but the solution can be plain javascript as well.

This to note is that i am looking to create a HTML table dynamically that looks similar to this: <table> <tbody> <tr> <td colspan="3" align="right">Header</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="3" align="right">Header</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="3" align="right">Header</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Col1</td> <td>Col3</td> <td>Col4</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Col1</td> <td>Col3</td> <td>Col4</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> I can get this done in markup but when I do it in js the colspan does not seem to work in IE7. Any hep will be greatly appreciated.

  • javascript innerHTML without childNodes?

    - by John Doe
    hi all im having a firefox issue where i dont see the wood for the trees using ajax i get html source from a php script this html code contains a tag and within the tbody some more tr/td's now i want to append this tbody plaincode to an existing table. but there is one more condition: the table is part of a form and thus contains checkboxe's and drop down's. if i would use table.innerHTML += content; firefox reloads the table and reset's all elements within it which isnt very userfriendly as id like to have what i have is this // content equals transport.responseText from ajax request function appendToTable(content){ var wrapper = document.createElement('table'); wrapper.innerHTML = content; wrapper.setAttribute('id', 'wrappid'); wrapper.style.display = 'none'; document.body.appendChild(wrapper); // get the parsed element - well it should be wrapper = document.getElementById('wrappid'); // the destination table table = document.getElementById('tableid'); // firebug prints a table element - seems right console.log(wrapper); // firebug prints the content ive inserted - seems right console.log(wrapper.innerHTML); var i = 0; // childNodes is iterated 2 times, both are textnode's // the second one seems to be a simple '\n' for(i=0;i<wrapper.childNodes.length;i++){ // firebug prints 'undefined' - wth!?? console.log(wrapper.childNodes[i].innerHTML); // firebug prints a textnode element - <TextNode textContent=" "> console.log(wrapper.childNodes[i]); table.appendChild(wrapper.childNodes[i]); } // WEIRD: firebug has no problems showing the 'wrappid' table and its contents in the html view - which seems there are the elements i want and not textelements } either this is so trivial that i dont see the problem OR its a corner case and i hope someone here has that much of expirience to give an advice on this - anyone can imagine why i get textnodes and not the finally parsed dom elements i expect? btw: btw i cant give a full example cause i cant write a smaller non working piece of code its one of those bugs that occure in the wild and not in my testset thx all
