  • PHP gallery, thumbnail listing

    Hi everyone, I am planning a dynamic PHP photo gallery and having difficulty deciding on the best way to display the thumbnails after they have been retrieved via MySQL. I considered using an inline unordered list but this resulted in the thumbs being stacked one on top of the other (touching). Also tried a table but not sure how I would start the next row after x number of thumbnails. Any suggestions on page layout for this purpose? I will be using Lightbox to cycle through the photos themselves, that isn't the issue. Also, would a while() loop be best for fetching the list of thumbs and inserting the appropriate HTML?   • Thumbnail wont show up in Facebook link share

    I have been messing with Open Graph for hours and can't figure out why Facebook still wont let me show an image when I share a link to a new site I just launched. Even sites I built 5 years ago that have no clue of Open Graph show images so I have no idea why this new site wont allow it. I just need to launch this site and every time I post the url in my status update only text appears. I re sized the image to be 200px x 135px but that still doesn't work.. It can find the image but it wont show up. Please help me figure this thing out. I have a number of people sharing this page right now and no image shows up.. So embarrassing. Thank you in advance!     Was about to finally submit an app when I realized that the youtube videos I'm playing play from the iPhone, but not the iPad.     Hello, In asp.net 2.0 application I am trying to create thumbnails from uploaded images. However when I test the application on my PC under Windows7 it works fine, but on the real Windows 2003 Server the resized image has worse quality. Where this difference could come from? Different JPEG codec or what, if Yes how it can be updated on Win 2003 Server? Thanks!     Hey guys! Any Alfresco experts out there? I have created a document type in Alfresco and am trying to associate it with an image -- Somehow. I don't really mind how it's done - an image uploader in the metadata section when saving the actual document would be nice, but I can live with having to upload the image first and then associating it somehow with the document.     I am working on the classic theme of Galleria to display a gallery. Here the requirement is to display the thumbnails in two row with the images in following order with a horizontal scroller if the thumbnails list div width increases more than 24. 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17 19 21 23 .. 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 24 .. For if the images are less than 24 and more than 12 then the order should be rendered in two rows as :- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 .. For if the images is less than 12 the images should be rendered in a single row as :- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7... Presently what I have done is I am using css3 column property to do this using different classes on the basis of image counts. This is working in all browsers but in IE8. So, is there any substitute for css3 column property for IE8 or less. Or some better way to implement the stuff that works fine in IE as well.

    I need to ask if any of you has any knowledge of creating file thumbnails on the fly. I have found a free component but it works only for PDF files, PDFThumbnailer. But my requirement is to convert DOC/RTF/PDF/XLS files to thumbnails on the fly, and if possible allow to save it as an image for later reference which currently PDFThumbnailer doesnt allow. PDFThumbnailer takes the pdf file and renders an image for it on browser, if that image can also be saved somehow to my machine that would be great too. Please guide me of how to achieve the above requirements. Any help for any filetype is appreciated. Thanks Imdadhusen

  • How do I get a thumbnail or saveable path from UIImagePickerController to use for a UIImageView?

    Could somebody please explain or show some sample code of how I can use get a thumbnail to be put into a UIImageView after the user selects a photo with UIImagePickerController? Let's say I want to set a thumbnail as the image of a table view cell. When the user presses the cell, the image picker is shown and the user selects an image that is already on their device. I also want to save the path to that thumbnail so that the next time the view is displayed, the proper thumbnail can be shown. I am able to display an image picker and my delegate get's the chosen image correctly, but I want the path to the thumbnail, and I want to load the thumbnail using that path (i.e. I want to save the path). I've searched for hours today and haven't figured this out. Perhaps I'm not understanding ALAsset, or maybe it is something else, but I can't find any examples that are helping me. I have never used the image picker or ALAsset before now, so I'm completely new at this.

    Hi, What do you think would be the best way to produce custom size image thumbnail from MS Office documents (doc, xls and ppt) on Windows with native code (means all means besides .NET/JAVA)? My current research result: IExtractImage COM. Problem: The size of the generated result is fixed and low quality, and you can't be sure all the source documents contain the thumbnails. Use a programmable virtual printer to print the specified page, and the printer must support image output, any good suggestion for this? What else would you suggest? thanks!

  • Rebuilding old (2010) django project in 2012

After seemingly having solved issues with old sorl.thumbnail versions and deprecated expressions I now get this error when running python manage.py runserver I also tried to copy & paste my old files into a new Django project and get the exactly same error.   • High-res icon in Windows Vista alt-tab thumbnail preview?

    I have customized my alt-tab screen with the following: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AltTab] "OverlayIconPx"=dword:00000040 "MaxThumbSizePx"=dword:00000100 "MinThumbSizePcent"=dword:00000064 It works great: the thumbnail becomes 256 pixel wide and the icon at the corner of the thumbnail becomes 64x64 pixels. However, Windows doesn't load the high-res icons from the programs; instead, it uses the 16x16 pixel icon and scaled it up by nearest-neighbor. I'm sure the programs has high-res icons because I saw them with in "Extra Large Icon" view in Explorer. So the question is: How can I force Windows to load the high-res icons for the alt-tab thumbnail preview? (Perhaps a registry key, or a .dll hack/injection?)

    Hello, I am trying to write some mod_rewrite rules to generate thumbnails on the fly. So when this url example.com/media/myphoto.jpg?width=100&height=100 the script should rewrite it to example.com/media/myphoto-100x100.jpg and if the file exists on the disk it gets served by Apache and if it doesn't exist it is called a script to generate the file. I wrote this RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^width=(\d+)&height=(\d+) RewriteRule ^media/([a-zA-Z0-9_\-]+)\.([a-zA-Z0-9]+)$ media/$1-%1x%2.$2 [L] RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} ^(.+)? RewriteRule ^media/([a-zA-Z0-9_\-\._]+)$ media/index.php?file=$1&%1 [L] and I get infinite internal redirects. The first condition is matched and the rule is executed and right after that I get an internal redirect. I need advice to finish this script. Thank you.

    I'm writing an ASP.Net application which needs to display a large number of thumbnails, preferably in a paginated format. These thumbnails will be stored on the server's hard disk, but will have their filenames listed in a SQL Server database. What I want to do is to be able to filter the images being displayed based on criteria within the database. I've looked at the NotesForGallery control, which I really like, but it doesn't seem to have a way to do that. --if I'm wrong, please correct me. Are there any other image gallery type controls, preferably free, that can do what I need? I'm hoping someone can recommend a control or solution that will point me in the right direction.   • How to preview any files inside a Java application ?

    I'm using a JTree to browse the content of a folder and I want that when a user click on a file, the software shows a preview of it (a screenshot of its first page). The files are mostly Office documents and PDF. I manage to do it for PDF file using a module downloaded from Sun, but I'd like to know if there is a way to do it using any software (JARs preferably) or even the built-in Windows API. I was thinking of converting the file to PDF then do a preview of this PDF but this isn't optimal. Any ideas ?
