  • Alternative to TOP in SQL Server and Oracle.

    SELECT TOP 5 * FROM EMP ORDER BY SALARY; Above query works in SQL Server. This returns top 5 employees. The problem with this query is it doesn't work with Oracle. In Oracle you would need to write the query as follows. SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE ROWNUM<=5 ORDER BY SALARY If you are looking for a query which runs in both Oracle and SQL Server. Please use below one. select * from (SELECT row_number() over( ORDER by SALARY) as rank, EMP.* FROM EMP) s1 where s1.rank <= 5; span.fullpost {display:none;}

  • What is "top new free" on GooglePlay

    - by Lumis
    On Android Market i.e. GooglePlay, there used to be a page with the latest new games. So every game had a chance to get noticed and make its way up especially if it was good. But now I see "top new free" page and no more the latest apps. I don't understand how can be "top new" Anybody knows how this works? If there are no more pages with the very latest uploaded games then the new apps will be barely seen to exist even if they are excellent, and new programmers have very little chance of getting noticed. Any good advice how to promote a new Android app these days?

  • Best way to develop a level from Top down image using 3dmax

    - by fire'fly
    I have to create a game level from a top down view of an area. I used a plane converted to an editable poly to do the job. I used edges to create the top view of roads, walkways and parks so that i can extrude/edit them later. My problem is the curves in the road look blocky I tried appying mesh smooth modifier on the final model but that interfered with material mapping. Again i tried it on the plane without the extrusions and still the modifier does not work(The roads loose their shape). I know one way to solve the problem is to add more vertices on the curve and transform their location to create a more natural curve but i have a lot of curves so before doing it manually i need to know if there is a tool that refines the curves. Also i need to know if there is a better or proper way of doing the task.

  • Animate css attributes: set "bottom" and remove "top"

    - by Slevin
    I'm working on a few animations with jQuery. I have 3-4 elements which should slide in from the top. I defined their positions with css: #element-1 { top:124px; left:0px; right:auto; bottom:auto; } #element-2 { top:230px; left:670px; right:auto; bottom:auto; } #element-3 { top:auto; left:0px; right:auto; bottom:100px; } Then I save their positions initial on pageload, cause i have to manipulate the css value to top: -1000px to hide them and make the "slide in from top" animation possible. var image_margins = []; $('img').each(function() { var obj = $(this), id = obj.attr('id'), mtop = obj.css('top'), mleft = obj.css('left'), mright = obj.css('right'), mbottom = obj.css('bottom'); // save alle margins in array image_margins[id] = {mtop:mtop,mleft:mleft,mright:mright,mbottom:mbottom}; // hide all content elements obj.css({'top':'-1000px'}); }); When the user clicks the animate button, the elements should slide to their saved positions. The problem: i can't remove the top attribute. Some elements only have bottom margins. I tried to set top to auto or '', but it's always 0px in DOM inspector. And bottom don't work if top is set. How can i get rid of the top attribute? $('.button').click(function(){ $('img').each(function() { var image = $(this), id = image.attr('id'), timeout = 0; setTimeout(function() { var mtop, mleft, mright, mbottom; if (image_margins[id].mtop != 'auto') { mtop = image_margins[id].mtop; } else { mtop = ''; } if (image_margins[id].mleft != 'auto') { mleft = image_margins[id].mleft; } else { mleft = ''; } if (image_margins[id].mright != 'auto') { mright = image_margins[id].mright; } else { mright = ''; } if (image_margins[id].mbottom != 'auto') { mbottom = image_margins[id].mbottom; } else { mbottom = ''; } image.animate({'top':mtop,'left':mleft,'right':mright,'bottom':mbottom},500); },timeout); timeout = timeout + 200; }); });

Which particular personal trait do you attribute your professional success to? Perseverance has been the most important trait that has attributed to my professional success. Endurance and perseverance combined to win in the end has always been a great credo. I find that this trait carries through in my professional as well as my personal life. I enjoy sport fishing and find that perseverance with a great deal of patience in this hobby is critical to the overall enjoyment and success in this sporting activity. In the same way, this doggedness – steadfastness with persistence – and tenacity toward an unyielding course of action has served me well in reaching goals and thus greater success. What’s the biggest challenge you have faced in your career so far? I have to constantly keep pace with ever changing technology in my career. The industry changes rapidly and requires me to stay on top of the latest trends and advancements. Outside of work, I like to develop software as a hobby and in order to ensure that what I am developing will meet what the business needs, I have to continually innovate and stay current on the latest trends in the industry to deliver a solution that will delight the end- user. Best career advice you have ever received. Always be forthright and honest with your customers and peers; mixed with a “Can Do” attitude, a great and fulfilling career can be yours to have and hold. What makes Oracle a great place to be in? The freedom to innovate and pave new avenues of success is one of the greatest things about working here at Oracle. We are always looking to grow and improve our business for our customers and we are always adapting to present and future industry demands. This means we are always looking to change, to perform better and to do things differently. All these create a culture and spirit of innovation and success. What motivates you to be in the HR sector? I really like working with and helping people. HR is all about “the people” in the organisation, and staying focused every day on making things better for the Oracle team gives me a great deal of happiness. Describe your leadership style. I am very direct and goal- oriented. I provide ideas and guidance and then give the team all the freedom they need to reach a successful outcome. I can also be a very “roll up your sleeves” kind of manager when the task needs a bit of a push. What’s the biggest business challenge you see in your industry right now? The ability to keep pace with all the convergence in the industry and to continue to stay focused on delivering top talent to serve Oracle’s customers well. Our unique Recruiting Model has served us well in meeting these needs. We are well-placed in this goal and look forward to maintain Oracle’s leadership role in the industry.

The issue is the child page will remain in the same spot of the page, because the iframe has a lot of height larger than the parent page. Please note: the parent and child pages are on different sub domains. I created a demo to show this: http://www.apus.edu/_test/iframe/index.htm

  • How to find out which python script is using resources?

    Can someone tell me how to find out which python script is using lots of system resources? • Merging multiple top-level domains into a single domain

    - by user23089
    My client had multiple top-level-domains. Each one represented an insurance program within a specific vertical. For all the sites at these alternate domains, there was a 30/70 mix of duplicate vs. original content. Some of the alternate domains ranked very well for their target keyphrase groups, where others were absent in results pages. We advised the client to merge multiple domains into their existing main domain, for usability and SEO reasons. We recently ran the merger. Here was our process: On the main domain, transfer the content such that it matches 1-for-1 content on the various alternate domains Setup Google Webmaster Tools on the main domain Push the new content on the main domain live and submit a corresponding sitemap to Google Establish 301 redirects on the alternate domains, such that each alternate domain URL points to its respective page on the main domain We did this 12 days ago, and pages (previously on the alternate domains) that had ranked well on Google have now plummeted or are entirely non-existent. Did we do the right thing by merging multiple top-level domains into a single domain? Is this initial dip in rankings normal? How soon should we expect to see it return to its normal rankings?
