  • SkyDrive doesn't sync in Windows 8.1

    After upgrading from Windows 8 Pro to 8.1, I moved many files to the integrated SkyDrive directory. Everything worked just fine, until recently, where SkyDrive has simply refused to sync. The only exceptions are Office documents, which are synced via another mechanism. When I add files to the SkyDrive redirectory, they show up as Pending in the metro app indefinitely. When I try to make them online only I get the following error: Sorry, the action couldn't be completed because the file hasn't finished uploading. Try again later. Of course, the files do not show up online. When I go the other way, and try to upload files online, they are also not synced to my local SkyDrive directory.

  • Nginx alias or rewrite for Horde Groupware ActiveSync URL does not process the rpc.php file

    I'm trying to setup a Horde groupware with Nginx. The webinterface works but I do not get the ActiveSync specific URL to work. The Horde Wiki explains how to use it with an Apache Webserver here. My problem is, that I setup a rewrite (tried an alias too) to serve the location /horde/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync via the /horde/rpc.php script. But with my current configuration nginx does the rewrite and returns a 200 status code. But it looks like that the php file is not executed. If I go to /horde/rpc.php directly it opens up the login dialog. So this seems to work correct. Firstly I was googling about the problem but could not find a working solution. So now I would like to ask you. The configuration should allow to access the ActiveSync part via the URL /horde/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync. The horde webinterface is already accessible via /horde.   • Why is systemd not setting my system time?

    I'm running Arch Linux. Recently, when I turn on my PC, the system time is set to 1:00 1 January 1970 - presumably the 1:00 o'clock is from the timezone shift. Does anyone have any ideas why systemd isn't setting my system time correctly? Some useful output (I think)...   • Snow Leopard crashes my Xerox printer

    Just set up 2 brand new iMac 21.5" with OS X 10.6.2 pre-installed in our office. Now whenever we try to print an e-mail out, it re-sets the printer i.e. it switches off, does a POST and prints out a Printer Config page. I can print web pages and from other apps fine, just Apple Mail seems to be suffering. Printer is a Xerox Phaser 7750. I downloaded the drivers it recommended when i first tried printing which didn't help and then also tried downloading from the Xerox site. The latter seemed to install fine but then right at the end, it would say 'Installation Successful', then ask me to choose a printer (it found it fine, both by Bonjour and Raw TCP - i tried both) and then it would give an error message. Any help appreciated.

  • Issue Connecting two home networks

    Hi, I have a home networking question. I have two DLINK wireless/wired routers in my house, connected to the Internet ISP. There are a 2 computers on each of the two networks. Network1: has 192.168.0.0 (gateway) Valid IP'S range - 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.10, with COMP1 having a fixed IP of 162.168.0.1 Network2: has 192.168.0.100 (gateway) Valid IP'S range - 192.168.0.101 - 192.168.0.110 with COMP2 having a static IP of 162.168.0.101, a WIRELESS printer on 192.168.0.102 Both routers have a netmask of 255.255.255.0 My need is to connect the two routers, so that I can Remote desktop for COMP1 to COMP2 and viceversa, and COMP1 to connect to the wireless printer on Network2. can anyone help to set this up so that the both networks can talk to each other.   • Outlook 2003 won't send mail

    A colleague's e-mail has just started playing up - he's using Outlook/Office 2003 on a Win XP SP3 machine. Yesterday his mail has suddenly stopped being received, although there are no errors of any kind that i can see. It was only noticed because he didn't have any replys all day. His e-mails seem to send fine - no errors come up, the mail goes into Sent Items as usual, but it never arrives at it's destination. However, when mail is sent from Outlook Web Access, e-mails send fine. All connections to the server appear fine and outlook is 'connected' but I've had a look at the message tracking on our Exchange 2003 server and no messages are appearing when sent from outlook, only when sent through OWA. Where should i be looking ? Thanks.

  • Messages going missing from Apple mailboxes

    A colleague has noticed random messages being deleted from her Apple Mailboxes. e.g. Message sent to client - client replies - original message nowhere to be found. Not in sent items/sent messages/junk/trash. No rules set up. Have tried rebuilding mailboxes but message doesn't show up. Quite worrying really as it was only noticed by chance so don't know how long/how widespread it is. Mail is controlled by Exchange 2003 server.     I just installed powerdns, and I added the record example.com A 120 1.2.3.4 and I used dig to see if it works, and it works. dig @localhost example.com and it will show the correct ip address : 1.2.3.4 My question is how to use this dns server in the public, so that my domain example.com to be dig without the @localhost? I will need the ns1.example.com ns2.example.com to be pointed to my 2 powerdns server ip, and I need to use my dns server to set the ns1.example.com, ns2.example.com, so that my other products could also setup ns1.example.com as their dns server, so how to do this?Edit

  • Best practice for administering a (hadoop) cluster

    Dear all, I've recently been playing with Hadoop. I have a six node cluster up and running - with HDFS, and having run a number of MapRed jobs. So far, so good. However I'm now looking to do this more systematically and with a larger number of nodes. Our base system is Ubuntu and the current setup has been administered using apt (to install the correct java runtime) and ssh/scp (to propagate out the various conf files). This is clearly not scalable over time. Does anyone have any experience of good systems for administering (possibly slightly heterogenous: different disk sizes, different numbers of cpus on each node) hadoop clusters automagically? I would consider diskless boot - but imagine that with a large cluster, getting the cluster up and running might be bottle-necked on the machine serving the OS. Or some form of distributed debian apt to keep the machines native environment synchronised? And how do people successfully manage the conf files over a number of (potentially heterogenous) machines?   • Turn 2 USB type A ports (receptacles) into an extension cable with 2 type A receptacles using Linux?

    I'm currently trying to connect 2 USB devices together, but both ends are type A plugs. Before I buy a physical extension cords with 2 type A receptacles, I'd like to know if I can connect these 2 devices together at all by passing data "transparently" through a Linux box with = 2 USB ports. I'm actually trying to connect a keyboard to an Android phone, and I want to first try if it can work by using a Linux box as a "virtual" USB extension cord.   • Can't click allow button in flash on firefox

    I have a webapp embedding some flash content in an iframe. The flash part is requesting access to the webcam. On firefox/mac os, user's can't click the allow button. This only happens when the page embedding the swf file is loaded in the iframe, it works fine when laded separately. Has anyone else faced a similar problem? D you know any workarounds? Thanks, Alex

    Hmmm, wonder if I have the first VS 2010 RTM question? Anyway.. Installing the Windows Phone 7 SDK I get the following error Incompatible Products VC 10.0 Runtime .NET Framework 4 Multi-Targeting Pack Microsoft.NET Framework 4 Client Profile Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended This was reported as an issue with Beta 2 and the fix was to install the RC.   • Missing AVFoundation.framework

    Hi, AVFoundation.framework is not where the documentation says it should be. I have iPhone SDK 2.2 installed (never had previous sdk versions installed) and I can't find that folder under /System/Library/Frameworks I did find it under /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS2.2.sdk/System/Library/Frameworks/ folder but if I add it from that location, then the compiler can't find the header files. I tried copying the entire AVFoundation.framework folder to /System/Library/Framework, but it still can't find the header files. How can I use AVFoundation classes? Thanks, Alex

So I have to run for each project the ant build file (a lot of clicks, and a waste of time).
