  • Inner Join with more than a field

    - by Leandro
    Precise to do a select with inner join that has relationship in more than a field among the tables Exemple: DataSet dt = new Select().From(SubConta.Schema) .InnerJoin(PlanoContabilSubConta.EmpSubContaColumn, SubConta.CodEmpColumn) .InnerJoin(PlanoContabilSubConta.FilSubContaColumn, SubConta.CodFilColumn) .InnerJoin(PlanoContabilSubConta.SubContaColumn, SubConta.TradutorColumn) .Where(PlanoContabilSubConta.Columns.EmpContabil).IsEqualTo(cEmp) .And(PlanoContabilSubConta.Columns.FilContabil).IsEqualTo(cFil) .And(PlanoContabilSubConta.Columns.Conta).IsEqualTo(cTrad) .ExecuteDataSet(); But the generated sql is wrong: exec sp_executesql N'/* GetDataSet() */ SELECT [dbo].[SubContas].[CodEmp], [dbo].[SubContas].[CodFil], [dbo].[SubContas].[Tradutor], [dbo].[SubContas].[Descricao], [dbo].[SubContas].[Inativa], [dbo].[SubContas].[DataImplantacao] FROM [dbo].[SubContas] INNER JOIN [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas] ON [dbo].[SubContas].[CodEmp] = [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas].[EmpSubConta] INNER JOIN [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas] ON [dbo].[SubContas].[CodFil] = [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas].[FilSubConta] INNER JOIN [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas] ON [dbo].[SubContas].[Tradutor] = [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas].[SubConta] WHERE EmpContabil = @EmpContabil0 AND FilContabil = @FilContabil1 AND Conta = @Conta2 ',N'@EmpContabil0 varchar(1),@FilContabil1 varchar(1),@Conta2 varchar(1)',@EmpContabil0='1',@FilContabil1='1',@Conta2='1' What should be made to generate this sql? exec sp_executesql N'/* GetDataSet() */ SELECT [dbo].[SubContas].[CodEmp], [dbo].[SubContas].[CodFil], [dbo].[SubContas].[Tradutor], [dbo].[SubContas].[Descricao], [dbo].[SubContas].[Inativa], [dbo].[SubContas].[DataImplantacao] FROM [dbo].[SubContas] INNER JOIN [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas] ON [dbo].[SubContas].[CodEmp] = [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas].[EmpSubConta] AND [dbo].[SubContas].[CodFil] = [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas].[FilSubConta] AND [dbo].[SubContas].[Tradutor] = [dbo].[PlanoContabilSubContas].[SubConta] WHERE EmpContabil = @EmpContabil0 AND FilContabil = @FilContabil1 AND Conta = @Conta2 ',N'@EmpContabil0 varchar(1),@FilContabil1 varchar(1),@Conta2 varchar(1)',@EmpContabil0='1',@FilContabil1='1',@Conta2='1'

  • WPF DataGrid: How to get Converter

    - by Nike
I create DataGrid Columns with Binding (where i is a Int value): dataGrid.Columns.Add(new DataGridTextColumn { Header = i.ToString(), Binding = CreateBinding(i), }); private Binding CreateBinding(int num) { Binding bind = new Binding(string.Format("[{0}]", num)); bind.Converter = new CellValueConverter(); return bind; } In the CreateBinding method I have an access to bind.Converter property. I need to call Converter.Convert() method in some handler, but there is no Converter property when I try to access it: (dataGrid.Columns[clm] as DataGridTextColumn).Binding."no Converter property!" How can I get my CellValueConverter which was created for particular Column?

  • Entitiy Framework: "Update Database from Model" instead of "Generate Database from Model"

    - by David
Hey everyone, I have created a Entity Framework 4 model with Visual Studio 2010 and generated a database from it. Now I found myself adding new properties (with default values), changing documentation of columns, changing names of columns, changing types of columns several times. All tasks that do not require much "extra work" in order not to be possible to be achieved automatically (in my humble opinion). Everytime I did "Generate Database from Model" and lost of course the table data. Is there a way just to update the database's architecture so to say - leaving the table data untouched? Maybe with some user interaction especially when changing types etc.? Or would this functionality be simply too difficult to be realized to work in a reliable way? Thanks in advance! Cheers, David

  • Is it possible to use ContainsTable to get results for more than one column?

    - by LockeCJ
Consider the following table: People FirstName nvarchar(50) LastName nvarchar(50) Let's assume for the moment that this table has a full-text index on it for both columns. Let's suppose that I wanted to find all of the people named "John Smith" in this table. The following query seems like a perfectly rational way to accomplish this: SELECT * from People p INNER JOIN CONTAINSTABLE(People,*,'"John*" AND "Smith*"') Unfortunately, this will return no results, assuming that there is no record in the People table that contains both "John" and "Smith" in either the FirstName or LastName columns. It will not match a record with "John" in the FirstName column, and "Smith" in the LastName column, or vice-versa. My question is this: How does one accomplish what I'm trying to do above? Please consider that the example above is simplified. The real table I'm working with has ten columns and the input I'm receiving is a single string which is split up based on standard word breakers (space, dash, etc.)

  • Displaying desired properties from search results with grails compass

    - by ombud
Hi, I've been stumped with the problem of displaying a selected set of properties returned as a result via a Compass query in grails. I have 300 columns in my domain class and what I'd like to do is to return ONLY THOSE values I specify (around 10 - 15 properties/fields/columns). All the 300 columns have been indexed, btw. I know I can do this using Lucene by cycling through returned hits and selectively calling a=getField(column_name), et c. My qiuestion is, how do I do the same thing using thee Compass Grails plugin ? Any help will gratefully be appreciated. Thanks in anticipation, Ombud

  • Unable to display data in a WPF datagrid that has a DataView instance as the items source

    - by Jimmy W
I am using a DataGrid object from the WPF toolkit. I am binding the DataGrid object to the default view of a DataTable instance as declared in the following code: WeatherGrid.ItemsSource = weatherDataTable.DefaultView; weatherDataTable has three columns. The first column is defined to contain a string data type. The other two columns are defined to contain double data types. When the application exits the function that calls the binding as expressed in the declaration, The DataGrid object displays data for the first column, but not the other columns. When I type the following in the immediate window in the debugger: ((DataRowView)WeatherGrid.Items[0]).Row[1] I get a number, but this doesn't correspond with what is being displayed. Why is only the first column visible, and how can I get all of the data to be visible? I'll leave my XAML definition for the DataGrid object below: <toolkit:DataGrid Margin="12.726,77.71,12,0" Name="WeatherGrid" Height="500" Grid.Row="1" VerticalAlignment="Top" CanUserAddRows="False" CanUserDeleteRows="False" IsReadOnly="True" />

  • Dynamically Added CheckBox Column is Disabled in GridView

    - by Mark Maslar
I'm dynamically adding a Boolean column to a DataSet. The DataSet's table is the DataSource for a GridView, which AutoGenerates the columns. Issue: The checkboxes for this dynamically generated column are all disabled. How can I enable them? ds.Tables["Transactions"].Columns.Add("Retry", typeof(System.Boolean)); ds.Tables["Transactions"].Columns["Retry"].ReadOnly = false; In other words, how can I control how GridView generates the CheckBoxes for a Boolean field? (And why does setting ReadOnly to False have no effect?) Thanks!

  • Changing the Column order/adding Newcolumn for existing Table in SQLServer2008

    - by rmdussa
Hi I have situation where I need to change the order of the columns/adding new columns for existing Table in SQLServer2008, It is not allowing me to do without drop and recreate. But That is in production system and having data in that table. I can take backup of the data, and Drop the existing table and change the order/add new columns and recreate it, insert the backup data into new Table. Is there any best way to do this without dropping and recreating.I think SQLServer 2005 will allow this process without dropping and recreating while changing to existing table structure. Thanks

  • Detect if a table contains a column in Android/sqlite

    - by sandis
So I have an app on the market, and with an update I want to add some columns to the database. No problems so far. But I want to detect if the database in use is missing these columns, and add them if this is the case. I need this to be done dynamically and not just after the update to the new version, because the application is supposed to still be able to import older databases. Normally I would be able to use the PRAGMA query, but Im not sure how to do this with Android. I cant use execSQL since it is a query, and I cant figure out how to use PRAGMA with the query()-function. Ofcourse I could just catch exceptions and then add the column, or always add the columns to each table before I start to work with it, but that is not a neat solution. Cheers,

  • VBA: How go I get the total width from all controls in an Access form?

    - by Stefan Åstrand
Hi, This is probably very basic stuff, but please bear in mind I am completely new to these things. I am working on a procedure for my Access datasheet forms that will: Adjust the width of each column to fit content Sum the total width of all columns and subtract it from the size of the window's width Adjust the width of one of the columns to fit the remaining space This is the code that adjusts the width of each column to fit content (which works fine): Dim Ctrl As Control Dim Path As String Dim ClmWidth As Integer 'Adjust column width to fit content For Each Ctrl In Me.Controls If TypeOf Ctrl Is TextBox Then Path = Ctrl.Name Me(Path).ColumnWidth = -2 End If Next Ctrl How should I write the code so I get the total width of all columns? Thanks a lot! Stefan

  • Move million records from MEMORY table to MYISAM table.

    - by Prashant
Hi, I am looking for a fast way to move records from a MEMORY table to MYISAM table. MEMORY table has around 0.5 million records. Both tables have exactly the same structure (same number of columns, data types etc.). But the MYISAM table is indexed (B-TREE) on a few columns. There are around 25 columns most of which are unsigned integers. I have already tried using "INSERT INTO SELECT * FROM " query. But is there any faster way to do this? Appreciate your help. Prashant

  • C# Gridview - Checking if a column already exists when adding a new column fails

    - by Nir
I have a GridView with 10 columns. On a certain condition, I want to add a new column called "Expiration Date". The problem is that when the user presses "Search" again (Postback) the column is added again. I check before adding the column, to see if it already exists: BoundField dtExp = new BoundField {DataField = "DateTimeExpired", HeaderText = "Expiration Date", DataFormatString = "{0:d}"}; if (!grid.Columns.Contains(dtExp)){grid.Columns.Add(dtExp);} But the problem is that even if the column already exists, "Contains" returns false. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

  • How to Set a gridview column width when binding to a datatable

    - by Bob Avallone
I am binding a table to a gridview in asp.net as such grdIssues.DataSource = mdtIssues; grdIssues.DataBind(); The problem is I cannot then control the column width, asp.net seems to decided on it's own what width each column should be. Methods such as grdIssues.Columns[0].ItemStyle.Width = 100; grdIssues.Columns[1].ItemStyle.Width = 100; don't work because the columns are created dynamically. I cannot believe there isn't a way to do this short of manually creating each column and filling each row. Regards, Bob Avallone

  • Problem with MultiColumn Primary Key

    - by Mike
DataTable NetPurch = new DataTable(); DataColumn[] Acct_n_Prod = new DataColumn[2]; DataColumn Account; Account = new DataColumn(); Account.DataType = typeof(string); Account.ColumnName = "Acct"; DataColumn Product; Product = new DataColumn(); Product.DataType = typeof(string); Product.ColumnName = "Prod"; NetPurch.Columns.Add(Account); NetPurch.Columns.Add(Product); Acct_n_Prod[0] = Account; Acct_n_Prod[1] = Product; NetPurch.PrimaryKey = Acct_n_Prod; NetPurch.Columns.Add(MoreColumns); the code is based on the example here When it is compiled and runs i get an error saying: "Expecting 2 values for the key being indexed but received only one" if I make Acct_n_Prod = new DataColumn[1] and comment out the line adding product to the acct-n-prod array then it runs fine I'm fairly new to this so I'm not sure where the error is Thanks, -Mike

  • Is adding indexes to a SQL Server ever a bad idea?

    - by Aerik
We have a mid-size SQL Server based application that has no indexes defined. Not even on the the identity columns. I suggested to our moderately expensive application consultant that perhaps we might get better performance (particularly as our database grows) by creating some indexes on appropriate fields, and he said: "Indexes will significantly impact other areas of the application and customers should not create them under any circumstances." Anybody ever heard of anything like this? Are there ever circumstances where one should not create any indexes? I can see nothing special about this app - it's got int identity columns, then lots of string columns, bunch of relational tables but nothing special or weird that I can see. Thanks!

  • How the return type is determined in a method that uses Linq2Sql?

    - by Richard77
Hello, I've usually have difficulties with return types when it comes to linq. I'll explain by the following examples. Let's say I have a Table Products with ProductID, Name, Category, and Price as columns : 1) IQueryable<Product public IQueryable<Product> GetChildrenProducts() { return (from pd in db.Products where pd.Category == "Children" select pd); } 2) Product public Product GetProduct(int id) { return (from pd in db.Products where pd.ProductID == id select pd).FirstOrDefault(); } Now, if I decide to select, for instance, only one column (Price or Name) or even 2 or 3 columns (Name and Price), but in any case, less than the 4 columns, what's going to be the return type? I mean this: public returnType GetSomeInformation() { return (from pd in db.Products select new { pd.Name, pd.Price } } What SHOULD BE the returnType for the GetSomeInformation()? Thanks for helping

  • Table-level diff and sync procedure for T-SQL

    - by Ville Koskinen
I'm interested in T-SQL source code for synchronizing a table (or perhaps a subset of it) with data from another similar table. The two tables could contain any variables, for example I could have base table source table ========== ============ id val id val ---------- ------------ 0 1 0 3 1 2 1 2 2 3 3 4 or base table source table =================== ================== key val1 val2 key val1 val2 ------------------- ------------------ A 1 0 A 1 1 B 2 1 C 2 2 C 3 3 E 4 0 or any two tables containing similar columns with similar names. I'd like to be able to check that the two tables have matching columns: the source table has exactly the same columns as the base table and the datatypes match make a diff from the base table to the source table do the necessary updates, deletes and inserts to change the data in the base table to correspond the source table optionally limit the diff to a subset of the base table, preferrably with a stored procedure. Has anyone written a stored proc for this or could you point to a source?

  • JTable.setRowHeight prevents me from adding more rows

    - by Brent Parker
I'm working on a pretty simple Java app in order to learn more about JTables, TableModels, and custom cell renderers. The table is a simple table with 8 columns only with text in them. When you click on an "add" button, a dialog pops up and lets you enter the data for the columns. Now to my problem. One of the columns (the last one) should allow for multiple lines of text. I'm already putting HTML into the field, but it is not wrapping. I did some research and looked into JTable#setRowHeight(). However, once I use setRowHeight, I can no longer add rows to the table. The data is put into the table model, but it does not show in the table. If I remove the setRowHeight line, then it adds data just fine. Is there another step to adding data to my data model that I'm missing? Thanks a lot!

  • Cloning java ArrayList and preventing it from modifications

    - by user222164
I have a data structure like a database Rowset, which has got Rows and Rows have Columns. I need to initialize a Columns with null values, current code is to loop thru each column for a row and initialize values to NULL. Which is very inefficient if you have 100s or rows and 10s of column. So instead I am keeping a initialized ArrayList of columns are RowSet level, and then doing a clone of this Arraylist for individual rows, as I believe clone() is faster than looping thru each element. row.columnsValues = rowsset.NullArrayList.clone() Problem with this is NullArrayList can be accidentally modified after being cloned, thus sacrificing the integrity of ArrayList at RowSet level, to prevent I am doing 3 things 1) Delcaring ArrayList as final 2) Any elements I insert are final or null 3) Methods thurough this arrayList are passed to other arrays are declared a final. Sounds like a plan, do you see any holes ?

  • Error : while creating a file.

    - by Harikrishna
I am storing records of datatable to csv file with the help of the following code : // we'll use these to check for rows with nulls var columns = yourTable.Columns .Cast<DataColumn>(); using (var writer = new StreamWriter(yourPath)) { for (int i = 0; i < yourTable.Rows.Count; i++) { DataRow row = yourTable.Rows[i]; // check for any null cells if (columns.Any(column => row.IsNull(column))) continue; string[] textCells = row.ItemArray .Select(cell => cell.ToString()) // may need to pick a text qualifier here .ToArray(); // check for non-null but EMPTY cells if (textCells.Any(text => string.IsNullOrEmpty(text))) continue; writer.WriteLine(string.Join(",", textCells)); } } But I get the error like System.UnauthorizedAccessException was unhandled Message="Access to the path 'D:\\Harikrishna\\Monthly Reports' is denied." What can be the problem and solution ?

  • How to add items rows to a listview WPF and VB.net

    - by leviatan1001

Atm, i have just defined the columns: 'diseño de las columnas Dim item As ListViewItem = New ListViewItem Dim Mi_Lista As GridView = New GridView Mi_Lista.AllowsColumnReorder = True Dim cine As New GridViewColumn() Dim Si3d As New GridViewColumn cine.Header = "Cine" cine.DisplayMemberBinding = New Binding("Cine") Si3d.DisplayMemberBinding = New Binding("si3D") cine.Width = 140 Si3d.Header = "3D" Si3d.Width = 50 Mi_Lista.Columns.Add(cine) Mi_Lista.Columns.Add(Si3d) Thanks in advance.

  • Use of Java constructors in persistent entities

    - by Mr Morgan
Hello I'm new to JPA and using persistence in Java anyway and I have two questions I can't quite work out: I have generated tags as: @JoinColumn(name = "UserName", referencedColumnName = "UserName") @ManyToOne(optional = false) private User userName; @JoinColumn(name = "DatasetNo", referencedColumnName = "DatasetNo") @ManyToOne(optional = false) private Dataset datasetNo; But in one of the constructors for the class, no reference is made to columns UserName or DatasetNo whereas all other columns in the class are referenced in the constructor. Can anyone tell me why this is? Both columns UserName and DatasetNo are 'foreign keys' on the entity Visualisation which corresponds to a database table of the same name. I can't quite work out the ORM. And when using entity classes, or POJO, is it better to have class variables like: private User userName; Where an instance of a class is specified or simply the key of that class instance like: private String userName; Thanks Mr Morgan.

  • How to implement filter system in SQL?

    - by sadvaw
Right now I am planning to add a filter system to my site. Examples: (ID=apple, COLOR=red, TASTE=sweet, ORIGIN=US) (ID=mango, COLOR=yellow, TASTE=sweet, ORIGIN=MEXICO) (ID=banana, COLOR=yellow, TASTE=bitter-sweet, ORIGIN=US) so now I am interested in doing the following: SELECT ID FROM thisTable WHERE COLOR='yellow' AND TASTE='SWEET' But my problem is I am doing this for multiple categories in my site, and the columns are NOT consistent. (like if the table is for handphones, then it will be BRAND, 3G-ENABLED, PRICE, COLOR, WAVELENGTH, etc) how could I design a general schema that allows this? Right now I am planning on doing: table(ID, KEY, VALUE) This allows arbitary number of columns, but for the query, I am using SELECT ID FROM table WHERE (KEY=X1 AND VALUE=V1) AND (KEY=X2 AND VALUE=V2), .. which returns an empty set. Can someone recommend a good solution to this? Note that the number of columns WILL change regularly

  • What is a typical scenario for and end-user reports design?

    - by Sebastian
Hello! I'm wondering what would be the typical scenario for using an end-user report designer. What I'm thinking of is to have a base report with all the columns that I can have, also with a basic view of the report (formatting, order of columns, etc.) and then let the user to change that format and order, take out or add (from the available columns) data to it, etc. Is that a common way to address what is called end-user designer for reports or I'm off track? I know it depends on the user (if it's someone that can handle SQL or not for example), but is it common to have a scenario where the user can build everthing from the sql query to the formatting? Thanks! Sebastian
