Windows 7 has a cool applet called Math Input Panel (http://blogs.msdn.com/e7/archive/2009/04/23/ink-input-and-tablet.aspx).
Does anyone know if a version of this is available for Windows XP?
I listen to a daily podcast that is about 4 hours long. I think it would be a cool project if I could come with some way to generate transcripts of it automatically. Is there any software that will "listen" to the mp3s and create text of what they are saying?
I'm not very concerned with differentiating who is talking because I think that would be asking too much. There are 4 main people speaking and others less often.
I did a quick search on Google and couldn't find anything regarding vanity IP addresses. I'm sure there is a market niche here. Wouldn't you dish some cash just to have a cool IP address? Anyone selling 2.2.2.2?
I'm playing with Magento and I figured out how to create multiple websites and stores and store views, but when I go back to the home page it certainly doesn't look as cool as the Magento Demo (http://www.magento-mall.com/). Are the tabs something they did in the HTML and the store domains are really masking to the ugly store URL?
Example:
www.kayferg-store1.com = masks to beta.kayferg.com/magento/index.php/?___store=[STORE1]
www.kayferg-store2.com = masks to beta.kayferg.com/magento/index.php/?___store=[STORE2]
I am trying out Windows Live Writer, and it seems to be pretty cool. But, how can I prevent it from encoding characters between <code> tags when switching between Edit and Source?
Is there a code plug-in that is compatible with the WordPress CodeColorer plug-in?
Hi guys. I have an FTP user which i log in into the server via SFTP and a key file. Right, lovely, works like a charm.
Now, by default the user logs to /home/ftp which is not cool. I'd like to know if there is a way to redirect just before the connection to a dir such as /var/www/site.com/public/files/
Mmm? :)
I'm going to install Linux on a PC for a daughter (age 7) of a friend of mine. I recently came across Hannah Montana Linux. The parents don't want a commercially branded thing going on, so no Hannah Montana. But I was wondering if there were other linux distros - or desktop themes - that would be cool for a 7 year old girl.
All suggestions welcome.
I am using logparser 2.2 and need a script that does two things:
finding urls that contain a value within referer
need to loop over 30 folders
logparser -rpt:-1 "select count(*)INTO feeds.txt from u_ex100302*.log where to_lowercase(cs(Referer)) like '/feeds%'"
I am listing a couple of stuff that I want people to download for my school and remembered that some sites had directory browsing done with cool little icons displaying the file types. I wanted to do this myself and felt that the default directory browsing of apache is just too plain and IndexOptions +FancyIndexing is a bit 'old'. Any nice jQuery based Web 2.0ish stuff out there for this particular purpose. The files are .debs, .exes, .iso, .zip etc. Thanks!
I'm looking at a QNAP NAS setup, and in the options for disks they have the very enterprisey Western Digital RE3. I'll be using the box for backing up my laptop, and streaming media either to the laptop or a media device using the built-in media server, possibly both at once.
My question is, would I notice any benefit at all in splashing out for the high-performance drive, or should I stick with something quiet and cool (and cheap) like the Caviar Green?
Looking at running pfSense on an old P3 866Mhz. It's noisy, I'd like to passively-cool it, downclocking is ok as this is more than enough horsepower for my needs at home. Obviously I'm cheaping out here: wonder if I bigger heatsink will do and how much case flow I need (it's in a standard mid-tower ATX case).
When diagnosing networking problems, I ping to:
My local IP
My gateway IP
An external IP
An external domain name
Usually, when troubleshooting, the internet is unaccessible, then I need to remember an external IP address.
I need any (easy to remember) IP address. By example, google ip is 72.14.204.147. Cool, but it's hard to remember...
What external IP you use? Do you have an mnemonic external IP address, then will be easy to remember?
Some to the questions / answers here have cool images of a key to press, like Esc but it looks like a key.
How do I do that? I cannot see it documented in the editing FAQ or in http://superuser.com/editing-help or in Markdown documentation...
I was trying to load the cool Kataspace WebGL demo (more info) and I get the error message "Your browser doesn't support WebGL. Currently we recommend the latest Firefox 4 Beta for all platforms."
I checked around and every piece of advice I can find on the internet says to set webgl.enabled_for_all_sites to true in the about:config page. Mine is set to true yet I still receive the same message. Does anyone know of any other items that may be conflicting with WebGL running properly?
This will be the first domain i've ever registered. So i'm at a loss what to look for. I definitely don't want to go with GoDaddy.
Here are my requirements:
Must have unlimited email forwards for my domain
Easy to transfer away if i choose.
Must not be one of those shady registrars that will try to auction your domain at the end.
Ability to create sub domains
Domain Registration is Private
I would like a domain registrar that would let me use my dynamic ip of my ISP (Cable) if i want to. So hopefully they would have some type program that would detect IP changes and update accordingly
So i've looked at a variety of registrars so far. The three left were really NameCheap, DreamHost, & DomainMonster.
I have heard good things about DreamHost but i think its off the list because they don't give you any information about the features you get when you register your domain with them. They have a "Whats included" button the page but it mainly list the features with hosting not registration.
DomainMonster looks pretty cool but i don't see anything about subdomains. Also i would assume they don't have a system for dynamic ip address updating. So you would have to constantly check that your ip of your ISP has changed or not and update it manually.
NameCheap also looks nice. There are two things i really like about them. Right on their feature page they list "Free Dynamic DNS With Client" which is pretty cool. They also have a free SSL certificate for the first year. Haven't messed a lot with certificates but this would definitely be something i would use. Only minus i can see is you only get free private whois for the first year. After that its $2.99 which isn't that big of a deal.
I'm leaning towards NameCheap now. Is this a good choice. Is there anything else i should be looking at?
hi!
I need a free software for Windows Vista that can split my videos, merge them and resize the resolution. These are the features I need. Features like conversion from one format to another would be useful but not necessary.
Any cool small piece of software that comes to mind??
Wondering whether anyone could advise as to the differences between these two products, from my understanding the difference is the latter allows control of more than 3 hosts. What I really wanted to know was, the (cool) features like chargeback and extended Application monitoring are they included in both versions or am I missing something....
I'm trying to get this cool Basecamp SVN integration kit to work, but testing it (locally) results with:
dyld: Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libreadline.6.dylib
Referenced from: /opt/local/bin/php
Reason: no suitable image found. Did find:
/opt/local/lib/libreadline.6.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture
Trace/BPT trap
How do I fix this?
I am looking for a tool that will let me take an mp4 and burn it as a DVD (you know, the kind I can watch in my DVD player).
I tried DVD Flick but when the DVD was done the audio was off by at least a full second.
I saw this question: http://superuser.com/questions/89467/burning-a-mpg-fileaudiovideo-to-dvd-to-view-in-a-dvd-player But the tool mentioned there does not say it supports MP4s.
Any one have any cool tools for this?
I have a Server 2003 box. I've noticed the windows directory is 4 gigs and I guess that's primarily windows updates.
As a side not, it would be cool to do this on my XP boxes if possible.
I have installed Mono under Apache and its working.
My question is - Do I need to restart the mono service each time I make ANY change to any asp.net file under Apache, be this a .cs or even a configuration change in web.config?
I've build a small miniITX system with Pentium 4 processor. It works fine but there's extremely hot temperature is shown by the CPU sensor, around 120 C. Of course this is causing the fan run extremely fast as well making the whole system very loud.
I tried to touch the CPU radiator but it is very cool so this should be some kind of error. Could you please give me an advice on how to troubleshoot this?
I've got an HP 2510G-24 and Intel Pro/1000 PT Quad Port NIC in a 4x LACP trunk. When I cool at the switch's "Status and Counters - Port status" page, I see an inconsistency between ports of the same trunk. I could expect them to be identical.
So, my questions:
What is MDI and MDIX?
Do I need to be concerned about the inconsistency?
If so, how to resolve?
We have facebook buttons, twitter buttons, linkedin buttons, google+ buttons, stumbleupon buttons, younameit buttons. These social network buttons and widgets are creeping up the internets like the plague. Sometimes even with cool javascript popups which obscure content if moused over.
How can I get rid of them?
I mean stuff like this:
and this:
and last but not least, this:
How can I get rid of them?
