    hi folks, i'm using ip*works for download newsgroup message and insert them into a database... ipworks is "comfortable" to use because it automatically split nntp data return into different object (or variable). So i've "author" "date" "topic" "messagge" already splitted to my use. However ipworks isn't free and it cost a lot for my use.. so i'm asking you some component or code snippet to use to download and "manage" nntp messagges. Thanks in advance and regards!

    Is it possible to protect flv files from download? I'd like to protect my files from download but I don't have the money for a streaming server which I think provides some sort of protection. The files are streamed via PHP and are located in an upload folder on my server. I've used PHP to ensure that only subscribers can view the video but I basically want to go a step further and prevent subscribers from, upon login, downloading my videos with downloaders such as Sothink Flv Downloader for Firefox.

  • Drawing Sprites for iOS games on iPad

    So, I'm quite new and confused on the way to tackle creating sprites/sprite sheets for iOS games. I own the full CS5 sweet and have been told that fireworks is the best way to go for creating these (although I don't have the slightest idea in how yet and would love some tutorials/books specifying sprite sheet creation). My thoughts directed me towards tablet drawing, as I am awful at drawing with a mouse and/or tablet without a screen on it (such as a basic wacom). I was thinking about getting an iPad, as this would provide me with an iPad for testing purposes and a tablet. Does anyone know if it's possible (or even a good idea) to draw out your sprites on the iPad. Is it possible to export them out into Fireworks and such?

My app downloaded the .mp3 file successful and then played it. However, after a few days, I run my app again, the app can't downloaded the .mp3 file. How can I download the .mp3 file all the time?     Here is the code I am using to setup the form: <% using (Ajax.BeginForm("SaveCroppedPhoto", new { Id = Model.memberId.GetValueOrDefault() }, new AjaxOptions { OnBegin = "ProfileOnBegin", OnComplete = "ProfileOnComplete", OnFailure = "ProfileOnFailure", OnSuccess = "ProfileOnSuccess" }, new { id = "cropPhotoForm" })) {%> My action result returns a json result as follow: return Json(new { success }); In IE8 when the action returns, it tries to download the result. The content type coming back is application/json. Anyone have any idea how to stop IE from trying to download the result?

    I want to redirect a praticular subdomain to the main domain http(s)://dl.example.com/par1/par2 to http(s)://www.example.com/par1/par2 How to achieve the above using .htaccess Why i want to do this: Whenever any user download a file from my server, if the file is huge , then user cannot do any other operation until the file is downloaded completely...so the solution that i have thought is to forward the download request through subdomain so that the browser may continue with rest of the operation. To do this, i have one thread for each place in which i select the tiles and create a thread to download each. Well, the question is how to avoid creating a thread for a tile that already exists in the thread pool. Should not just check if the file exists, since it is possible that the thread for that tile already exists (other place already need that tile) but the file has not been created- Any idea? Thanks

    Lets assume I have a file on a CDN (Cloud Files from Rackspace) and a static html page with a link to that file. Is there any way I can force download this file (to prevent it from opening in the browser -- for mp3s for example)? We could make our server read the file and set the corresponding header to: header("Content-Type: application/force-download") but we have about 5 million downloads per month so we would rather let the CDN take care of that. Any ideas?

    Hi, I want to make 3d games for the iphone and with all this doubt about Unity and Apples new sdk agreement I'm wondering what the best way forward is? A lot of people recommend opengl es and point me in the direction of the open gl es bible and likewise, the problem is none of this actually talk about setting a game up i.e loading a character, scene , AI etc. Yet a lot of people are using Open GL es please could someone help me out, I really feel like I'm missing out on something.
