  • hyperLink on jsf error messages problem

    - by user234194
    I am trying to put link in the error messages produced by JSF. For this I am using the custom renderer, it works(clicking the error, focuses the respective input field) but the problem is , all the form values gets empty. ie when error occurs, all the input fields get empty. Any suggestion will be appreciated. package custom; public class CustomErrorRenderer extends Renderer { @Override @SuppressWarnings("unchecked") public void encodeEnd(FacesContext context, UIComponent component) throws IOException { ResponseWriter writer = context.getResponseWriter(); writer.startElement("div", component); writer.writeAttribute("id", component.getClientId(context), "id"); writer.writeAttribute("style", "color: red", null); writer.startElement("ul", null); Iterator clientIds = context.getClientIdsWithMessages(); while (clientIds.hasNext()) { String clientId = clientIds.next(); Iterator messages = context.getMessages(clientId); if (!messages.hasNext()) { continue; } String javaScript = "var field = document.getElementById('" + clientId + "');" + "if(field == null) return false;" + "field.focus(); return false;"; writer.startElement("li", null); writer.startElement("a", null); writer.writeAttribute("onclick", javaScript, null); writer.writeAttribute("href", "#", null); while (messages.hasNext()) { writer.writeText(messages.next().getSummary(), null); } writer.endElement("a"); writer.endElement("li"); } writer.endElement("ul"); writer.endElement("div"); } } This renderer is defined in faces-config.xml: add to base HTML_BASIC renderkit HTML_BASIC HTML_BASIC CustomErrorRenderer javax.faces.Output custom.CustomErrorRenderer custom.CustomErrorRenderer CustomErrorMessages custom.Errors javax.faces.component.UIOutput a tag class: package custom; import javax.faces.webapp.UIComponentELTag; public class CustomErrorTag extends UIComponentELTag { @Override public String getComponentType() { return "custom.Errors"; } @Override public String getRendererType() { return "custom.CustomErrorRenderer"; } } This is defined in a TLD file: http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/javaee/web-jsptaglibrary_2_1.xsd" version="2.1" 1.0 custom http://custom errors custom.CustomErrorTag empty This goes at the top of the JSP page: <%@ taglib prefix="custom" uri="http://custom"%

  • Ajax/PHP contact form not able to send mail

    - by Steph
    The funny thing is it did work for one evening. I contacted my host, and they are saying there's no reason it should not be working. I have also attempted to test it in Firebug, but it seemed to be sending. And I specifically put the email address (hosted in my domain) on my email safe list, so that is not the culprit either. Would anyone here take a look at it for me? I'd be so grateful. In the header I have: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#alert' }; $('#contactForm').ajaxForm(options); }); $.fn.clearForm = function() { return this.each(function() { var type = this.type, tag = this.tagName.toLowerCase(); if (tag == 'form') return $(':input',this).clearForm(); if (type == 'text' || type == 'password' || tag == 'textarea') this.value = ''; else if (type == 'checkbox' || type == 'radio') this.checked = false; else if (tag == 'select') this.selectedIndex = -1; }); }; </script> Here is the actual form: <form id="contactForm" method="post" action="sendmail.php"> <fieldset> <p>Email Me</p> <div id="fieldset_container"> <label for="name">Your Name:</label> <input type="text" name="name" id="name" /><br /><br /> <label for="email">Email:</label> <input type="text" name="email" id="email" /><br /><br /> <span style="display:none;"> <label for="last">Honeypot:</label> <input type="text" name="last" value="" id="last" /> </span><br /><br /> <label for="message">Comments &amp; Inquiries:</label> <textarea name="message" id="message" cols="" rows=""></textarea><br/> </div> <div id="submit_button"> <input type="submit" name="submit" id="submit" value="Send It" /> </div> </fieldset> </form> <div class="message"><div id="alert"></div></div> Here is the code from my validating page, sendmail.php: <?php // Who you want to recieve the emails from the form.   • Javascript incapable of getting element's max-height via element.style.maxHeight

    - by Zane
    I am making a simple accordion menu in javascript. I'd like to be able to set the compact and expanded heights for the elements via the css max-height and min-height values. For some reason, when I try to retrieve the min-height and max-height of the elements in javascript for animation purposes, I get an empty string rather than, for instance, "500px" like it should. The max-height value is set in css, e.g. #id { min-height: 40px; max-height: 500px; } is all set up, but when I put a debugging mechanism in my javascript such as alert( item.style.minHeight ); it pops up an empty alert box. This happens in Firefox 3.6.2 and IE 8. Does anybody know why javascript refuses to be able to get an element's minHeight and maxHeight?

  • Qt4: QPrinter / QPainter only prints the first document

    - by hurikhan77
    The problem is that my application only prints the first document fine. The second document is empty, only the page number is printed, the rest of the page is empty. In Qt4, I'm initializing the printer in the main.cpp in the following way: mw->printer = new QPrinter(QPrinter::HighResolution); mw->printer->setPaperSize(QPrinter::A5); mw->printer->setNumCopies(2); mw->printer->setColorMode(QPrinter::GrayScale); QPrintDialog *dialog = new QPrintDialog(mw->printer, mw); dialog->setWindowTitle(QObject::tr("Printer Setup")); if (dialog->exec() == QDialog::Accepted) { mw->printer->setFullPage(TRUE); return a.exec (); } This works fine for printing the first document from the application: qDebug("Printing"); QPainter p; if (!p.begin(printer)) { qDebug("Printing aborted"); return; } Q3PaintDeviceMetrics metrics(p.device()); int dpiy = metrics.logicalDpiY(); int dpix = metrics.logicalDpiX(); int tmargin = (int) ((marginTop / 2.54) * dpiy); int bmargin = (int) ((marginBottom / 2.54) * dpiy); int lmargin = (int) ((marginLeft / 2.54) * dpix); int rmargin = (int) ((marginRight / 2.54) * dpix); QRect body(lmargin, tmargin, metrics.width() - (lmargin + rmargin), metrics.height() - (tmargin + bmargin)); QString document; /* ... app logic to write a richtext document */ Q3SimpleRichText richText(QString("<qt>%1</qt>").arg(document), QFont("Arial", fontSize)); richText.setWidth(&p, body.width()); QRect view(body); int page = 1; do { // draw text richText.draw(&p, body.left(), body.top(), view, colorGroup()); view.moveBy(0, body.height()); p.translate(0, -body.height()); // insert page number p.drawText(view.right() - p.fontMetrics().width(QString::number(page)), view.bottom() + p.fontMetrics().ascent() + 5, QString::number(page)); // exit loop on last page if (view.top () >= richText.height ()) break; printer->newPage(); page++; } while (TRUE); if (!p.end()) qDebug("Print painter yielded failure"); But when this routine runs the second time, it does not print the document. It will just print an empty page but still with the page number on it. This worked fine before with Qt3.

    Greetings, I wrote a custom MembershipProvider for my asp.net mvc application. I get the user as follows: public override MembershipUser GetUser(string username, bool userIsOnline) { using (CPersistanceManager pm = new CPersistanceManager()) { pm.EnsureConnectionOpen(); MembershipUser membershipUser = null; COperator oper = pm.OperatorRepository.Get(username); membershipUser = new MembershipUser(ApplicationName, oper.Username, oper.ROWGUID, oper.Email, string.Empty, string.Empty, oper.IsActive, false, DateTime.Today, DateTime.Today, DateTime.Today, DateTime.Today, DateTime.Today ); return membershipUser; } } how can I then retrieve logged user id (rowguid) in any controller?

  • Module autoloader in ZF

    - by ChrisRamakers
    The manual on Zend_Application_Module_Autoloader states the following: When using module bootstraps with Zend_Application, an instance of Zend_Application_Module_Autoloader will be created by default for each discrete module, allowing you to autoload module resources. Source: http://framework.zend.com/manual/zh/zend.loader.autoloader-resource.html#zend.loader.autoloader-resource.module This requires me to create an empty bootstrap class for each of my modules or else resource autoloading per module won't work with the build-in autoloader. Now I have two questions What is a discrete module? Is there a way to have this resource autoloader registered by default for each module without the need to create a bootstrap file for each module? I want it available in each module and creating so many empty bootstrap classes is something i'd rather prevent.

  • Hibernate Search Paging + FullTextSearch + Criteria

    - by Roy Chan
    I am trying to do a search with some criteria FullTextQuery fullTextQuery = fullTextSession.createFullTextQuery(finalQuery, KnowledgeBaseSolution.class).setCriteriaQuery(criteria); and then page it //Gives me around 700 results result.setResultCount(fullTextQuery.getResultSize()); //Some pages are empty fullTextQuery.setFirstResult(( (pageNumber - 1) * pageSize )); fullTextQuery.setMaxResults( pageSize ); result.setResults(fullTextQuery.list()); I suspect Lucene return full result of the full text search without taking the criteria into account and then hibernate search applies the criteria after, therefore some page are empty (after filtering by criteria) What is proper way to do fullTextSearch with some criteria, is it possible to apply the criteria before the lucene search? Or do I have to use pure Lucene (if so what's the point of Hibernate Search?) Thanks in advance

  • Generic List<T> as IEnumerable<object>

    - by Avi
    I'm trying to do cast a List to an IEnumerable, so I can verify that different lists are not null or empty: Suppose myList is a List < T . Then in the caller code I wanted: Validator.VerifyNotNullOrEmpty(myList as IEnumerable<object>, @"myList", @"ClassName.MethodName"); The valdiating code would be: public static void VerifyNotNullOrEmpty(IEnumerable<object> theIEnumerable, string theIEnumerableName, string theVerifyingPosition) { string errMsg = theVerifyingPosition + " " + theIEnumerableName; if (theIEnumerable == null) { errMsg += @" is null"; Debug.Assert(false); throw new ApplicationException(errMsg); } else if (theIEnumerable.Count() == 0) { errMsg += @" is empty"; Debug.Assert(false); throw new ApplicationException(errMsg); } } However, this doens't work. It compiles, but theIEnumerable is null! Why?

  • Drupal Adding Span inside A tags in Nice Menus

    - by Chris
    I am trying to add drop down menus to a drupal theme which uses text sliding door CSS rounding. The current version uses a primary links injection of the span into the a tags, which works fine. But doesn't support drop down menus. Working code: <?php print theme('links', $primary_links, array('class' => 'links primary-links')) ?> In the template with a template.php file addition: <?php // function for injecting spans inside anchors which we need for the theme's rounded corner background images function strands_guybrush_links($links, $attributes = array('class' => 'links')) { $output = ''; if (count($links) > 0) { $output = '<ul'. drupal_attributes($attributes) .'>'; $num_links = count($links); $i = 1; foreach ($links as $key => $link) { $class = $key; // Add first, last and active classes to the list of links to help out themers. if ($i == 1) { $class .= ' first'; } if ($i == $num_links) { $class .= ' last'; } if (isset($link['href']) && ($link['href'] == $_GET['q'] || ($link['href'] == '<front>' && drupal_is_front_page()))) { $class .= ' active'; } $output .= '<li'. drupal_attributes(array('class' => $class)) .'>'; if (isset($link['href'])) { $link['title'] = '<span class="link">' . check_plain($link['title']) . '</span>'; $link['html'] = TRUE; // Pass in $link as $options, they share the same keys. $output .= l($link['title'], $link['href'], $link); } else if (!empty($link['title'])) { // Some links are actually not links, but we wrap these in <span> for adding title and class attributes if (empty($link['html'])) { $link['title'] = check_plain($link['title']); } $span_attributes = ''; if (isset($link['attributes'])) { $span_attributes = drupal_attributes($link['attributes']); } $output .= '<span'. $span_attributes .'>'. $link['title'] .'</span>'; } $i++; $output .= "</li>\n"; } $output .= '</ul>'; } return $output; } ?> So I have added the [Nice Menu module][1] which works well and allows the drop down menu functions for my navigation which is now addressed from the template using: <?php print theme_nice_menu_primary_links() ?> The issue is that the a tags need to have spans inside to allow for the selected state markup. I have tried every angle I could find to edit the drupal function menu_item_link which is used by nice menus to build the links. E.g. I looked at the drupal forum for two days and no joy. The lines in the module that build the links are: function theme_nice_menu_build($menu) { $output = ''; // Find the active trail and pull out the menus ids. menu_set_active_menu_name('primary-links'); $trail = menu_get_active_trail('primary-links'); foreach ($trail as $item) { $trail_ids[] = $item['mlid']; } foreach ($menu as $menu_item) { $mlid = $menu_item['link']['mlid']; // Check to see if it is a visible menu item. if ($menu_item['link']['hidden'] == 0) { // Build class name based on menu path // e.g. to give each menu item individual style. // Strip funny symbols. $clean_path = str_replace(array('http://', '<', '>', '&', '=', '?', ':'), '', $menu_item['link']['href']); // Convert slashes to dashes. $clean_path = str_replace('/', '-', $clean_path); $class = 'menu-path-'. $clean_path; $class .= in_array($mlid, $trail_ids) ? ' active' : ''; // If it has children build a nice little tree under it. if ((!empty($menu_item['link']['has_children'])) && (!empty($menu_item['below']))) { // Keep passing children into the function 'til we get them all. $children = theme('nice_menu_build', $menu_item['below']); // Set the class to parent only of children are displayed. $class .= $children ? ' menuparent ' : ''; // Add an expanded class for items in the menu trail. $output .= '<li id="menu-'. $mlid .'" class="'. $class .'">'. theme('menu_item_link', $menu_item['link']); // Build the child UL only if children are displayed for the user. if ($children) { $output .= '<ul>'; $output .= $children; $output .= "</ul>\n"; } $output .= "</li>\n"; } else { $output .= '<li id="menu-'. $mlid .'" class="'. $class .'">'. theme('menu_item_link', $menu_item['link']) .'</li>'."\n"; } } } return $output; } As you can see the $output uses menu_item_link to parse the array into links and to added the class of active to the selected navigation link. The question is how do I add a span inside the a tags OR how do I wrap the a tags with a span that has the active class to style the sliding door links? drupal.org/project/nice_menus drupal.org/node/53233

  • Determining actual args an Excel UDF was called with.

    - by Frederick
    I'm adding a user defined function to Excel with varargs-based signature in C++: XLFUNCTIONIMP(MyFunction)(...); When Excel calls MyFunction, it passes it 30 arguments regardless of how many the user entered in the sheet. The extraneous ones are blank strings. MyFunction, however, is designed to accept empty string arguments. As a result, I cannot tell valid empty strings apart from the extraneous ones sent by Excel. A solution could be to obtain the contents of the actual cell where the user entered the function. However, I can't find a way of doing that from within the implementation of my function. Could someone please suggest a way out?

  • Programatically Create Controller in Rails

    - by Trey Bean
    What's the best way to dynamically create a controller in Rails. I've got a class that needs to generate a bunch of controller that inherit from it. I could just create a bunch of files in /app/controllers, but they'd all be basically empty files. There's got to be a way to generate these classes dynamically and have them treated like other controllers in Rails, e.g. reloaded correctly in dev mode. I tried putting this in a config/initializer: FL.contact_types.each do |contact_type| controller_name = "#{contact_type.pluralize}Controller" Object.const_set(controller_name.to_sym, Class.new(ContactsController)) unless Object.const_defined?(controller_name.to_sym) end This worked, but I run into the dependency/reload problem and get “A copy of AuthenticatedSystem has been removed from the module tree but is still active” since the ContactsController inherits from ApplicationController which includes AuthenticatedSystem. Is creating a bunch of empty files really the best solution?

  • Installing Ruby Gems behind a Proxy

    - by jjr2527
    It appears this topic has been covered a few times before, but those solutions have only gotten me so far. I now have my sources properly updated and I am able to query for gems without an error but I keep getting empty results for my searches. I installed rubysspi and copied over the spa.rb file as mentioned in the readme. The readme also suggested using this line which did not work for me based on my install path: ruby -rspa 'C:\Program Files\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi So I switched it to my install directory off the root: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi But that also didn't work so a search for the gem file located it in the bin directory so this command finally worked for me: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\bin\gem' list --remote sspi But I got empty results back: *** REMOTE GEMS *** SO I tried other gems and had the same results. Then I listed my gem sources and rubygems is listed as expected. Am I missing something else? c:\ruby>gem sources *** CURRENT SOURCES *** http://rubygems.org

  • validation in javascript - remove the error msg on focus

    - by fusion
    i'm not very well-versed with javascript, so please bear with me. i've a form in which i validate the controls with javascript. the error is displayed when the fields are empty via a div, but when i focus and type something in the textbox, the div should go away. but the error div doesn't and even if i type something valid, it still displays the div. i'd like to know where am i going wrong with this script: <script type="text/javascript"> var err = document.getElementById("errmsg"); function checkInput(inPut) { if (inPut.getValue() == "") { err.setStyle('display', 'block'); err.setTextValue("Field cannot be empty!"); inPut.focus(); return false; } else { return true; } } function checkTextBox(textBox) { if (textBox.getValue() == "") { err.setStyle('display', 'block'); err.setTextValue("Field cannot be empty!"); textBox.focus(); return false; } else if (!checkValidity(textBox.getValue())) { err.setStyle('display', 'block'); err.setTextValue("Please enter a valid email address!"); textBox.focus(); return false; } else { return true; } } . . . <div id="errmsg" class="invalid" style="display:none;"></div> <br /> . . . <input type="text" tabindex="1" name="name" id="name" class="input_contact" onblur="checkInput(this);"/> <br /> . . . <input type="text" tabindex="2" name="email" id="email" class="input_contact" onblur="checkTextBox(this);"/> <br /> it's a form in facebook app but while the fbjs works, i assume there's a problem with my basic javascript.

  • How to remove some of the TimeSeries titles in a AChartEngine Time Series View

    - by user1831310
    As a workaround of not being able to change colors of selected points in a series on an AChartEngine Time Chart, I was using an additional series for each point whose color has to be changed. I need to disable series titles for those additional series. Using empty string as the argument to the Time Series construtor: TimeSeries ts = TimeSeries(""); still results in the line-and-point symbol being placed with empty series title string under the X-axis labels for each such series. It would be a desirable feature for AChartEngine to remove both the line-and-point symbol and the series title string for a series created with a null argument to the TimeSeries construtor call: TimeSeries ts = TimeSeries(null); But this currently resulted in nullPointerException instead. Would the AChartEngine developers consider the above suggestion and until then, is there a way to remove some of the TimeSeries titles from a AChartEngine Time Series View? Best regards.

  • Faster way to perform checks on method arguments

    - by AndyC
    This is mostly just out of curiosity, and is potentially a silly question. :) I have a method like this: public void MyMethod(string arg1, string arg2, int arg3, string arg4, MyClass arg5) { // some magic here } None of the arguments can be null, and none of the string arguments can equal String.Empty. Instead of me having a big list of: if(arg1 == string.Empty || arg1 == null) { throw new ArgumentException("issue with arg1"); } is there a quicker way to just check all the string arguments? Apologies if my question isn't clear. Thanks!

Now its rendered as an anchor with an onclick method in this code ThemeButton.cs using System; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; namespace YAF.Controls { /// <summary> /// The theme button. /// </summary> public class ThemeButton : BaseControl, IPostBackEventHandler { /// <summary> /// The _click event. /// </summary> protected static object _clickEvent = new object(); /// <summary> /// The _command event. /// </summary> protected static object _commandEvent = new object(); /// <summary> /// The _attribute collection. /// </summary> protected AttributeCollection _attributeCollection; /// <summary> /// The _localized label. /// </summary> protected LocalizedLabel _localizedLabel = new LocalizedLabel(); /// <summary> /// The _theme image. /// </summary> protected ThemeImage _themeImage = new ThemeImage(); /// <summary> /// Initializes a new instance of the <see cref="ThemeButton"/> class. /// </summary> public ThemeButton() : base() { Load += new EventHandler(ThemeButton_Load); this._attributeCollection = new AttributeCollection(ViewState); } /// <summary> /// ThemePage for the optional button image /// </summary> public string ImageThemePage { get { return this._themeImage.ThemePage; } set { this._themeImage.ThemePage = value; } } /// <summary> /// ThemeTag for the optional button image /// </summary> public string ImageThemeTag { get { return this._themeImage.ThemeTag; } set { this._themeImage.ThemeTag = value; } } /// <summary> /// Localized Page for the optional button text /// </summary> public string TextLocalizedPage { get { return this._localizedLabel.LocalizedPage; } set { this._localizedLabel.LocalizedPage = value; } } /// <summary> /// Localized Tag for the optional button text /// </summary> public string TextLocalizedTag { get { return this._localizedLabel.LocalizedTag; } set { this._localizedLabel.LocalizedTag = value; } } /// <summary> /// Defaults to "yafcssbutton" /// </summary> public string CssClass { get { return (ViewState["CssClass"] != null) ? I have added in the code as of right now an extra onclick="this.style.display='none'" in the .cs code but that is a ugly fix I was wondering if anyone would have a better idea of disabling the ThemeButton clientside?? pls any feedback if I need to give more examples or further explain the question thanks.

  • Finding related tags using acts-as-taggable-on

    - by user284194
    In tag#show I list all entries with that tag. At the bottom of the page I'd like to have something like: "Related Tags: linked, list, of, related tags" My view looks like: <h2><%= link_to 'Tag', tags_path %>: <%= @tag.name.titleize %></h2> <% @entries.each do |entry| %> <h2><%= link_to h(entry.name), entry %></h2> <%- unless entry.phone.empty? -%> <p><%= h(entry.phone) %></p> <%- end -%> <%- unless entry.address.empty? -%> <p><%= h(entry.address) %></p> <%- end -%> <%- unless entry.description.empty? -%> <p><%= h(entry.description) %></p> <%- end -%> <p2><%= link_to "more...", entry %><p2> <% end %> Related Tags: <% @related.each do |tag| %> <%= link_to h(tag.tags), tag %> <% end %> tags_controller.rb: def show @title = Tag.find(params[:id]).name @tag = Tag.find(params[:id]) @entries = Entry.paginate(Entry.find_tagged_with(@tag), :page => params[:page], :per_page => 10, :order => "name") @related = Entry.tagged_with(@tag, :on => :tags) end Every entry has at least one tag, it's required by the entry model. I'd like duplicate tags ignored and the current tag (the tag that the list belongs to) ignored. My current code displays this: Related Tags: Gardens Gardens ToursGardens Gardens is a link to the entry, not the tag gardens. ToursGardens is a link to the entry that includes those tags. My desired result would be: Related Tags: Gardens, Tours Each link would link to it's associated tag. Can anyone help me achieve this? I tried using a div_for but I don't think that was right.

  • Workaround iPhone's browser not honoring the <label> element

    - by Sorin Comanescu
    Hi, Just ran into this recently and I thought it'd be helpful to share. The HTML <label> element is supported in a weird way by iPhone's (v3) browser. Try this: <input type="checkbox" id="chkTest" /><label for="chkTest">Click me!</label> Tapping the "Click me!" label has no effect, the checkbox is not checked. Lack of support in a touch device for <label> elements puzzled me and I tried to overcome this issue by using javascript. The surprise came when a I noticed a void javascript like the one below also did the trick: <input type="checkbox" id="chkTest" /><label for="chkTest" onclick="javascript:void(0);">Click me!</label> HTH Further info: Also works with an empty handler: onclick="" Disabling JavaScript inactivates again the label, even if using the empty handler.

  • google url shortener api and jquery not working

    - by rahim
    i cant seem to get google's new url shortener api to work with jquery's post method: $(document).ready(function() { $.post("https://www.googleapis.com/urlshortener/v1/url", { longUrl: "http://www.google.com/"}, function(data){ console.log("data" + data); }); $('body').ajaxError(function(e, xhr, settings, exception) { $(this).text('fail'+e); console.log(exception); }); }); all of this gives me an empty (data) response AND an empty (exception) response. any ideas? ive also tried this with no success: $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: "https://www.googleapis.com/urlshortener/v1/url", data: { longUrl: "http://www.google.com/"}, success: success, dataType: "jsonp" });

  • Bug in the official Android Fragments training sample?

    - by Jeff Axelrod
    It seems to me that there must be a bug in the Android Fragments demo. As background, Fragments are apparently sometimes instantiated by the Android OS and thus need a public no-arg constructor: All subclasses of Fragment must include a public empty constructor. The framework will often re-instantiate a fragment class when needed, in particular during state restore, and needs to be able to find this constructor to instantiate it. If the empty constructor is not available, a runtime exception will occur in some cases during state restore. But the NewsReader demo from the official Android training on Fragments constructs the HeadlinesFragment class and configures it with setOnHeadlineSelectedListener(this) from NewsReaderActivity.onCreate(). If the Android OS re-instantiates this fragment, the mHeadlineSelectedListener field will be null because HeadlinesFragment doesn't save or restore its state. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

  • how to settle JSF combobox with values depending on another combobox if both are set to required

    - by mykola
    Hi, everybody! Can anyone tell me how to automatically set <h:selectOneMenu (or any other component) with values depending on another <h:selectOneMenu if there empty elements with 'required' set to 'true' on the form? If to set <a4j:support event="onchange" reRender="anotherElement" immediate="true"/ then nothing is changed because changed value isn't set. But without immediate i always have message that this or that element cannot be empty. Here's code example that doesn't work :) <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.someField}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:selectOneMenu id="someSelect" value="#{MyBean.someObj.someId}" required="true" label="#{msg.someField}" > <a4j:support event="onchange" reRender="anotherSelect" limitToList="true" immediate="true"/> <f:selectItem itemValue=""/> <f:selectItems value="#{MyBean.someList}"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <rich:message for="someSelect" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.anotherField}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:selectOneMenu id="anotherSelect" value="#{MyBean.someObj.anotherId}" required="true" label="#{msg.anotherField}" > <f:selectItem itemValue=""/> <f:selectItems value="#{MyBean.anotherList}"/> </h:selectOneMenu> <rich:message for="anotherSelect" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> <h:outputLabel value="* #{msg.name}: "/> <h:panelGrid cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <h:inputText id="myName" value="#{MyBean.someObj.myName}" required="true" label="#{msg.name}"/> <rich:message for="myName" styleClass="redOne"/> </h:panelGrid> So, here (i repeat), if i try to change 'someSelect' then 'anotherSelect' should update its values but it doesn't because either when it tries to get value of 'someSelect' it gets null (if immediate set to 'true') or form validation fails on empty elements. How can i skip validation but get this changed value from 'someSelect'?
