  • Select videos using UIImagePickerController in 2G/3G

    - by Raj
Hi, I am facing a problem where-in I cannot select videos from the photo album in iPhone 2G/3G device. The default photos application does show videos and is capable of playing them, which in turn means that UIImagePickerController should clearly be capable of showing videos in photo album and selecting them. I have coded this to determine whether the device is capable of snapping a photo, recording video, selecting photos and selecting videos: // Check if camera and video recording are available: [self setCameraAvailable:NO]; [self setVideoRecordingAvailable:NO]; [self setPhotoSelectionAvailable:NO]; [self setVideoSelectionAvailable:NO]; // For live mode: NSArray *availableTypes = [UIImagePickerController availableMediaTypesForSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera]; NSLog(@"Available types for source as camera = %@", availableTypes); if ([UIImagePickerController isSourceTypeAvailable:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypeCamera]) { if ([availableTypes containsObject:(NSString*)kUTTypeMovie]) [self setVideoRecordingAvailable:YES]; if ([availableTypes containsObject:(NSString*)kUTTypeImage]) [self setCameraAvailable:YES]; } // For photo library mode: availableTypes = [UIImagePickerController availableMediaTypesForSourceType:UIImagePickerControllerSourceTypePhotoLibrary]; NSLog(@"Available types for source as photo library = %@", availableTypes); if ([availableTypes containsObject:(NSString*)kUTTypeImage]) [self setPhotoSelectionAvailable:YES]; if ([availableTypes containsObject:(NSString*)kUTTypeMovie]) [self setVideoSelectionAvailable:YES]; The resulting logs for 3G device is as follows: 2010-05-03 19:09:09.623 xyz [348:207] Available types for source as camera = ( "public.image" ) 2010-05-03 19:09:09.643 xyz [348:207] Available types for source as photo library = ( "public.image" ) As the logs state, for photo library the string equivalent of kUTTypeMovie is not available and hence the UIImagePickerController does not show up (or rather throws exception if we set the source types array which includes kUTTypeMovie) the movie files in photo library. I havent tested for 3GS, but I am sure that this problem does not exist in it with reference to other threads. I have built the app for both 3.0 (base SDK) and 3.1 but with the same results. This issue is already discussed in the thread: http://www.iphonedevsdk.com/forum/iphone-sdk-development/36197-uiimagepickercontroller-does-not-show-movies-albums.html But it does not seem to host a solution. Any solutions to this problem? Thanks and Regards, Raj Pawan

  • QGraphicsView scrolling and image scaling/cropping

    - by boohoo
I would like to have a background image in my QGraphicsView that is always scaled (and cropped if necessary) to the size of the viewport, without scrollbars and without scrolling with the keyboard and mouse. The example below is what I am doing to scale and crop an image in the viewport, but I am using random values for the cropping that are pulled out of the aether. I would like a logical solution? MainWindow::MainWindow(QWidget *parent) : QMainWindow(parent), ui(new Ui::MainWindow) { ui->setupUi(this); scene = new QGraphicsScene(this); ui->graphicsView->resize(800, 427); // MainWindow is 800x480, GraphicsView is 800x427. I want an image that // is the size of the graphicsView. ui->graphicsView->setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(Qt::ScrollBarAlwaysOff); ui->graphicsView->setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(Qt::ScrollBarAlwaysOff); // the graphicsView still scrolls if the image is too large, but // displays no scrollbars. I would like it not to scroll (I want to // add a scrolling widget into the QGraphicsScene later, on top of // the background image.) QPixmap *backgroundPixmap = new QPixmap(":/Valentino_Bar_Prague.jpg"); QPixmap sized = backgroundPixmap->scaled( QSize(ui->graphicsView->width(), ui->graphicsView->height()), Qt::KeepAspectRatioByExpanding); // This scales the image too tall QImage sizedImage = QImage(sized.toImage()); QImage sizedCroppedImage = QImage(sizedImage.copy(0,0, (ui->graphicsView->width() - 1.5), (ui->graphicsView->height() + 19))); // so I try to crop using copy(), and I have to use these values // and I am unsure why. QGraphicsPixmapItem *sizedBackground = scene->addPixmap( QPixmap::fromImage(sizedCroppedImage)); sizedBackground->setZValue(1); ui->graphicsView->setScene(this->scene); } I would like to know a way to scale and crop an image to the size of the QGraphicsView that will work even when I resize the QGraphicsView. Where are the 1.5 and 19 coming from?

  • Errors with shotgun gem and msvcrt-ruby18.dll when running my Sinatra app

    - by Adam Siddhi
Greetings, Every time I make a change to a Sinatra app I'm working on and try to refresh the browser (located at http://localhost:4567/) the browser will refresh and, the console window seems to restart the WEB brick server. The problem is that the content in the browser window does not change. A friend of mine told me it was a shotgun issue and referred me to rtomayko's shotgun gem: http://github.com/rtomayko/shotgun On this page I read that the shotgun gem would basically solve my problem, allowing the changes made to my app to show up in the browser window after I refresh it. So I installed the shotgun gem. The installation was successful. To activate the shotgun function you have to type shotgun before the file name. In this case my Sinatra app's file name is shortener.rb When I type shotgun shortener.rb to run my Sinatra app I get this error: C:\ruby\sinatrashotgun shortener.rb c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:137:in `': No such f ile or directory - uname (Errno::ENOENT) from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:137:in block in ' from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:136:in each' from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:136:in find' from c:/Ruby19/lib/ruby/gems/1.9.1/gems/shotgun-0.6/bin/shotgun:136:in <top (required)>' from c:/Ruby19/bin/shotgun:19:inload' from c:/Ruby19/bin/shotgun:19:in `' I should also mention that before testing the shotgun method out to see if it worked, I installed the mongrel (I realize I should have checked to see if shotgun worked before doing this as installing mongrel has complicated this problem). So on top of getting the error message above I also get a pop up window from Ruby.exe saying: Ruby.exe - Unable to load component This application has failed to start because msvcrt-ruby18.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. I have no idea what msvcrt-ruby18.dll is but I know that installing either shotgun and/or mongrel created this problem. Where to go from here? Thanks, Adam

  • How to use Sprockets Rails plugin on Heroku?

    - by Kevin
Hi, I just deployed my Rails app to Heroku, but the Javascripts that were using Sprockets plugin don't work. I understood that, because my Heroku app is read-only, Sprockets won't work. I've found this sprockets_on_heroku plugin that should do the work, but I don't really get how to use it : I added config.gem sprockets in config/environment.rb I added sprockets in my .gems file I pushed these on Heroku and Sprockets was successfully installed I locally ran script/plugin install git://github.com/jeffrydegrande/sprockets_on_heroku.git and the plugin was successfully installed Nothing changed on Heroku, so I tried to install the plugin on Heroku with heroku plugins:install git://github.com/jeffrydegrande/sprockets_on_heroku.git, which returned sprockets_on_heroku installedbut then, a heroku restartor a heroku pluginscommand would return this: ~/.heroku/plugins/sprockets_on_heroku/init.rb:1: uninitialized constant ActionController (NameError) from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/heroku-1.8.3/bin/../lib/heroku/plugin.rb:25:in `load' from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/heroku-1.8.3/bin/../lib/heroku/plugin.rb:25:in `load!' from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/heroku-1.8.3/bin/../lib/heroku/plugin.rb:22:in `each' from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/heroku-1.8.3/bin/../lib/heroku/plugin.rb:22:in `load!' from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/heroku-1.8.3/bin/../lib/heroku/command.rb:14:in `run' from /opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/heroku-1.8.3/bin/heroku:14 from /opt/local/bin/heroku:19:in `load' from /opt/local/bin/heroku:19 What should I do? • OpenGL-ES Texture Atlas. t axis is inverted.

    - by Feet
    I'm mapping a texture from my texture atlas to a square on a cube. For some reason, the t axis is inverted with 0 being at the top and 1 being at the bottom. Also, I have to specify the texture coordinates in clockwise order rather than counter-clockwise. I am using counter-clockwise windings. The vertices, indices and texture coordinates I'm using are below. float vertices[] = { // Front face -width, -height, depth, // 0 width, -height, depth, // 1 width, height, depth, // 2 -width, height, depth, // 3 // Back Face width, -height, -depth, // 4 -width, -height, -depth, // 5 -width, height, -depth, // 6 width, height, -depth, // 7 // Left face -width, -height, -depth, // 8 -width, -height, depth, // 9 -width, height, depth, // 10 -width, height, -depth, // 11 // Right face width, -height, depth, // 12 width, -height, -depth, // 13 width, height, -depth, // 14 width, height, depth, // 15 // Top face -width, height, depth, // 16 width, height, depth, // 17 width, height, -depth, // 18 -width, height, -depth, // 19 // Bottom face -width, -height, -depth, // 20 width, -height, -depth, // 21 width, -height, depth, // 22 -width, -height, depth, // 23 }; short indices[] = { // Front // Back 0,1,2, 0,2,3, 4,5,6, 4,6,7, // Left // Right 8,9,10, 8,10,11, 12,13,14, 12,14,15, // Top // Bottom 16,17,18, 16,18,19, 20,21,22, 20,22,23, }; float textures[] = { // Front 0.0f, 0.0f, 0.25f, 0.0f, 0.25f, 0.25f, 0.0f, 0.25f, // Back 0.25f, 0.0f, 0.50f, 0.0f, 0.50f, 0.25f, 0.25f, 0.25f, // Left 0.50f, 0.0f, 0.75f, 0.0f, 0.75f, 0.25f, 0.50f, 0.25f, // Right 0.75f, 0.0f, 1f, 0.0f, 1f, 0.25f, 0.75f, 0.25f, // Top 0.0f, 0.25f, 0.25f, 0.25f, 0.25f, 0.50f, 0.0f, 0.50f, // Bottom 0.25f, 0.25f, 0.50f, 0.25f, 0.50f, 0.50f, 0.25f, 0.50f, };

I have tried writing db.articles.find( {'tags': 'geography'} ), but that doesn't appear to work. I've also thought about changing the search parameter to 'tags.geography', but am having a devil of a time figuring out what the search predicate would be.

  • Trying to debug a 'Assertion failure in -[UIActionSheet showInView:]' error....

    - by dsobol
I am working through "Beginning iPad Application Development" and am getting hung up in Chapter 3 where I have created a project that works with an Action Sheet. As it stands now, my application loads into the simulator just fine with no errors that I am aware of, but as it runs, it crashes with the following errors showing up in the debugger window: 2010-05-31 19:44:39.703 UsingViewsActionSheet[49538:207] * Assertion failure in -[UIActionSheet showInView:], /SourceCache/UIKit_Sim/UIKit-1145.66/UIAlert.m:7073 2010-05-31 19:44:39.705 UsingViewsActionSheet[49538:207] * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Invalid parameter not satisfying: view != nil' I am sure that this is the block where the app breaks based upon my use of breakpoints. //Implement viewDidLoad to do additional setup after loading the view, typically from a nib. - (void)viewDidLoad { UIActionSheet *action = [[UIActionSheet alloc] initWithTitle:@"This is my Action Sheet!" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"OK" destructiveButtonTitle:@"Delete Message!" otherButtonTitles:@"Option 1", @"Option 2", @"Option 3", nil]; [action showInView:self.view]; // <-- This line seems to trigger the crash.... [action release]; [super viewDidLoad]; } Am I missing something obvious, or is there more to the problem than is shown here? I have looked at the abstract for showInView and cannot divine anything there yet. I appreciate any and all asssitance. Regards, Steve O'Sullivan

  • ASP.net AppendHeader not working in ASP MVC

    - by Chao
    I'm having problems getting AppendHeader to work properly if I am also using an authorize filter. I'm using an actionfilter for my AJAX actions that applies Expires, Last-Modified, Cache-Control and Pragma (though while testing I have tried including it in the action method itself with no change in results). If I don't have an authorize filter the headers work fine. Once I add the filter the headers I tried to add get stripped. The headers I want to add Response.AppendHeader("Expires", "Sun, 19 Nov 1978 05:00:00 GMT"); Response.AppendHeader("Last-Modified", String.Format("{0:r}", DateTime.Now)); Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate"); Response.AppendHeader("Cache-Control", "post-check=0, pre-check=0"); Response.AppendHeader("Pragma", "no-cache"); An example of the headers from a correct page: Server ASP.NET Development Server/9.0.0.0 Date Mon, 14 Jun 2010 17:22:24 GMT X-AspNet-Version 2.0.50727 X-AspNetMvc-Version 2.0 Pragma no-cache Expires Sun, 19 Nov 1978 05:00:00 GMT Last-Modified Mon, 14 Jun 2010 18:22:24 GMT Cache-Control no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0 Content-Type text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Length 352 Connection Close And from an incorrect page: Server ASP.NET Development Server/9.0.0.0 Date Mon, 14 Jun 2010 17:27:34 GMT X-AspNet-Version 2.0.50727 X-AspNetMvc-Version 2.0 Pragma no-cache, no-cache Cache-Control private, s-maxage=0 Content-Type text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Length 4937 Connection Close

  • Locating memory leak in Apache httpd process, PHP/Doctrine-based application

    - by Sam
I have a PHP application using these components: Apache 2.2.3-31 on Centos 5.4 PHP 5.2.10 Xdebug 2.0.5 with Remote Debugging enabled APC 3.0.19 Doctrine ORM for PHP 1.2.1 using Query Caching and Results Caching via APC MySQL 5.0.77 using Query Caching I've noticed that when I start up Apache, I eventually end up 10 child processes. As time goes on, each process will grow in memory until each one approaches 10% of available memory, which begins to slow the server to a crawl since together they grow to take up 100% of memory. Here is a snapshot of my top output: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 1471 apache 16 0 626m 201m 18m S 0.0 10.2 1:11.02 httpd 1470 apache 16 0 622m 198m 18m S 0.0 10.1 1:14.49 httpd 1469 apache 16 0 619m 197m 18m S 0.0 10.0 1:11.98 httpd 1462 apache 18 0 622m 197m 18m S 0.0 10.0 1:11.27 httpd 1460 apache 15 0 622m 195m 18m S 0.0 10.0 1:12.73 httpd 1459 apache 16 0 618m 191m 18m S 0.0 9.7 1:13.00 httpd 1461 apache 18 0 616m 190m 18m S 0.0 9.7 1:14.09 httpd 1468 apache 18 0 613m 190m 18m S 0.0 9.7 1:12.67 httpd 7919 apache 18 0 116m 75m 15m S 0.0 3.8 0:19.86 httpd 9486 apache 16 0 97.7m 56m 14m S 0.0 2.9 0:13.51 httpd I have no long-running scripts (they all terminate eventually, the longest being maybe 2 minutes long), and I am working under the assumption that once each script terminates, the memory it uses gets deallocated. (Maybe someone can correct me on that). My hunch is that it could be APC, since it stores data between requests, but at the same time, it seems weird that it would store data inside the httpd process. How can I track down which part of my app is causing the memory leak? What tools can I use to see how the memory usage is growing inside the httpd process and what is contributing to it?

Here's what I've tried: CGColorRef pixelColor = [[buttonImage colorAtPixel:point] CGColor]; UIColor* color = [UIColor colorWithCGColor:pixelColor]; UIColor* aqua = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.521569 green:0.768627 blue:0.254902 alpha:1]; if (CGColorEqualToColor(color.CGColor, aqua.CGColor)) { DLog(@"Apparently, it works"); } DLog(@"%@", color.CGColor); DLog(@"%@", aqua.CGColor); Output: 2011-05-21 19:48:27.144 Coffee[66860:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d1eb80> [<CGColorSpace 0x4d1a070> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) 2011-05-21 19:48:27.145 Coffee[66860:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d1f750> [<CGColorSpace 0x4d1a070> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) It looks like the CGColor addresses are different, but the CGColorSpaces are the same, but I can't figure out how to compare the CGColorSpaces I've also tried this: CGColorRef pixelColor = [[buttonImage colorAtPixel:point] CGColor]; UIColor* color = [UIColor colorWithCGColor:pixelColor]; UIColor* aqua = [UIColor colorWithRed:0.521569 green:0.768627 blue:0.254902 alpha:1]; if ([color isEqual:aqua]) { DLog(@"Apparently, it works"); } DLog(@"%@", color.CGColor); DLog(@"%@", aqua.CGColor); The same silliness occurs. 2011-05-21 20:02:49.277 Coffee[67013:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d3b810> [<CGColorSpace 0x5912010> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 ) 2011-05-21 20:02:49.278 Coffee[67013:207] -[DescriptorsViewController touchesEnded:withEvent:] <CGColor 0x4d3ba20> [<CGColorSpace 0x5912010> (kCGColorSpaceDeviceRGB)] ( 0.521569 0.768627 0.254902 1 )`

  • Android Hashtable Serialization

    - by Nsyed
Hi All, I am having a weird issue with serialization of a Hashtable. I have made a Server, Client app. Where server(PC/MAC) is serializing a Hashtable and sending it to Client(Android) through UDP. The data is sent/read correctly but I get a bunch of these messages below on LogCat. 04-12 11:19:43.059: DEBUG/dalvikvm(407): GetFieldID: unable to find field Ljava/util/Hashtable;.loadFactor:F Occasionally, I would see these 04-12 11:21:19.150: DEBUG/dalvikvm(407): GC freed 10814 objects / 447184 bytes in 97ms The app would run for 2-3 mins and then crash. Interestingly enough I do not see the Loadfactor errors on SDK 1.5. But I do see the GC Free xxxx objects, quiet often. After debugging I have found that the issue is with de-serialization and the error/warning are coming from following code Code: ByteArrayInputStream bis = new ByteArrayInputStream(bytes); ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream(bis); object = ois.readObject(); at Code: object = ois.readObject(); on the client. My server is serializing code is the following. Code: ByteArrayOutputStream bos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(bos); oos.writeObject(obj); Any idea what is going on? Thanks for the Help!
