  • Firefox - Stashing Requests for Deliberate Resubmission to Django App

    I've got an object creation form that's somewhat complicated, it contains a few dynamic formsets etc. I'm trying to ensure that these dynamic formsets are intact if the form runs into an error and returns you to the given page. In cases like this, the refresh button actually works well in re-submitting the request, but I can't rely on it. I'm doing some ad-hoc testing in the browser that I'd like to make a bit more repeatable, and eventually move to a unit test using Django's mock client. Is there an extension, or some convenient method to stash requests for later re-submission. The goal: I resubmit the request, tweak the code, eyeball the results, rinse and repeat. Three days later I can come back to it an try it again to make sure it's still working. The closest thing I can think of in this case is simply recording my activity with Selenium ide and replaying it.

  • firefox does not load large size images

    I am stuck with a kind of bug in FF, wherein it’s unable to load images of big size (I have 8 MB size of image) from the server. The loading of image is all fine on IE. I am still looking out for ways to get rid of this problem. I changed server(IIS) settings to allow bigger file sizes. Also, I used “load” event on image using JQuery and tried all sort of options listed here http://api.jquery.com/load-event/, but nothing worked so far. If anyone of you has come across any such similar problem, and a way to resolve it, it would be nice to hear from you Please note: high resolution images are part of the requirement.   • Change cursor style in firefox input file tag

    I have been trying to change the cursor style to look like a pointer rather than an I beam thing, but it looks like FF does not respect the cursor spec in an input file field. For example, I have made this small fiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/jDZtn/4/ where Id like the cursor to look like a pointer rather than an Ibeam when the user hovers over it. My end plan is to introduce opacity==0 and use a clickable button over it. I am not sure if this behaviour is a bug or not.

  • Firefox DOMParser problem

    For some reason DOMParser is adding some additional #text elements for each newline \n for this url http://rt.com/Root.rss ...as well as many other RSS I've tried. I checked cnn/bbc feeds, they don't have newlines and dom parser handling them nicely. So I have to add the following before parsing it var xmlText = htmlText.replace(/\n[ ]*/g, ""); var xmlDoc = parser.parseFromString(xmlText, "text/xml"); Server is returning text/xml. var channel = xmlDoc.documentElement.childNodes[0]; this returning \n without my code above and channel with correction.

  • Select All in Javascript (Firefox extension) not working right

    I'm having some problems with a select all/ none function. (I didn't write it, I'm trying to fix it!) It currently looks like this: rsfindmod.SelAll = function(){ document.getElementById("ListBox").selectAll(); document.getElementById("ListBox").focus(); } It's being used on a dynamically generated set of links, so there's no set number of items in this listbox. This seems to work most of the time, but randomly it only selects those which are visible at the time. Scrolling the list or hitting the button again seems to normally make it work as expected. My first (Obvious?) thought was to replace the function entirely with the one from this link for testing: http://viralpatel.net/blogs/2009/06/listbox-select-all-move-left-right-up-down-javascript.html Trouble is that I can't get this one to work whatsoever! This gives me the error that listbox.options is not defined Any thoughts please? I'm by no means certain whether it's the original function at fault, or something in the generation of this listbox.

    I am writing a .NET 3.5 WPF application in C#. This application needs to be able to get the URL(s) out of the browser window when it is in the foreground. I already have the code working that handles a global Windows hotkey and then checks to see if the foreground IntPtr is from a browser. If so, I am able to obtain the System.Diagnostics.Process objects that maps to the browser. At this point, I would like to obtain the URL(s) from the browser. Thank you, G

  • Set which pulseaudio sync is affected by volume control buttons

    On my previous installation of ubuntu 10.04 it was possible to set a sync in pavucontrol, which is affected by the volume up-/down buttons on my keyboard. Now in Lubuntu 11.10 this does not work anymore. I can check the green tick, but this affects nothing, still always one and the same sink is affected. Did anybody have this before? Where is this function configured - is there a config file, in which I could change this configuration directly?

    When I run a program from the console, e.g. me@box:~$ firefox I expect the console to log error messages (I think this is std out or std err?) and other items from the program, firefox in this case. But today I notice that bash just opens the program and goes to a new prompt, e.g. me@box:~$ firefox me@box:~$ How do I launch a program from bash such that error messages will be written to the console? Why is it that some programs operate this way by default and others (firefox) do not?

  • Benchmarking Linux flash player and google chrome built in flash player

    I use xubuntu 14.04 64 bit, I installed flash player from software center and xubuntu-restricted-extras too Are there any benchmarks on Linux flash player and google chrome built in flash player? I just want to see their performance because in theory google's flash player should be more updated and have better performance than the one we use in Firefox. (that's what I read everywhere) I have chrome latest version installed and Firefox next, and I found that flash videos in Chrome are laggy and they take long time to load. While the same flash videos load much faster in Firefox and I tend to prefer watching flash videos in firefox, especially the long ones because it loads them so much faster. I can't believe these results on my PC, so is there any way to benchmark flash players performance on both browsers? I want to know if it's because of the flash player or the browsers or something else

  • How to use Xvfb in Ubuntu 14.04 with/without RandR?

    I try to run Unit-Tests with Selenium running Firefox on my Ubuntu 14.04 Server. And I'm using Xvfb as described in this blog to simulate a virtual display to show Firefox in. But Xvfg somehow doesn't load/work with RandR. Because whenever I try this: sudo Xvfb :10 -ac & export DISPLAY=:10 firefox I get an Xlib: extension "RandR" missing on display ":10"-Error. I've also tried sudo Xvfb :10 -ac +extension RANDR, sudo Xvfb :10 -ac -extension RANDR and beacuse it supplies with "xrandr" also apt-get install x11-xserver-utils. And my setup is a plain empty Ubuntu 14.04 Server with apt-get install xvfb firefox. Can anyone please help me run Xvfb with or without RandR?

I whould like to know in what encryption should I encode my data and why first of all, I use GET method because it is search engine inside website. second, I use RTL language (hebrew) and thrid which basically is why I ask this question - firefox and safari (as I understood) encode and decode urls automaticly so if I encoded url, in firefox I will see it decoded which is good but if I copy-paste the url to the address bar and than enter the site firefox encode the uncoded url to utf (i think). anyway, what en/decode should I use, and how can I overcome the firefox auto en/decode?

  • Visiting launchpad.net in browser causes icon to appear in launcher, how do I remove it?

    Using Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity. I think I agreed to install a Launchpad add-on in Firefox the first time I visited the site (launchpad.net), and ever since then, whenever I have an open tab in Firefox with any page on launchpad.net loaded, an icon appears in my Launcher desktop widget. If I right-click on the icon and select quit, it also closes the tab in Firefox. I've since uninstalled the Firefox add-on and rebooted, and it's still happening. How do I make it stop?   • menu not showing in apps when maximized 12.10

    I have removed the Global App Menu as I prefer to have the minimize, maximize, close buttons on the right side of each app. I did this with no problem in 12.04. I did an upgrade to 12.10 and noticed that Chrome, Chromium and Firefox all use the Global Menu. I have done the following: sudo apt-get autoremove appmenu-gtk appmenu-gtk3 appmenu-qt I have disabled the Firefox extension. I removed the corresponding Firefox package but still only have a global menu. I tried Gconf but apparently that does not work in 12.10. I then tried Dconf and found this fix on Google: org gnome desktop wm preferences, look for "button_layout" on the right panel. Here is the problem, after desktop, I do not have wm. I reset Unity and got a message saying something about wm is missing. I rebooted and opened Chrome and still no fix. I then clicked maximize and once Chrome was not maximized anymore, the minimize, maximize, close buttons show up in Chrome. Same with Firefox! Any ideas? I am truly stumped. Firefox and Chrome work fine in KDE Plasma and Gnome when maximized.

  • How do I find out the Mac Address Firefox submits for Geolocation?

    I moved, but have the same router and cable box. Now when I visit Google Maps it still shows my old location. I went to the SkyhookWireless update page to update my Mac Address with my new location. The process is you put in your Mac address and it shows you the current location, and then you adjust that location and submit it. When I got the Mac Address from the status page on my router Skyhook reported that location as in Pakistan, which isn't even the correct continent (as my old or new address). I tried every other Mac address I could come up with: The cable router, the Wireless router's other Mac address, my PC's Mac address, etc. and none of them reported any location on the Skyhook page. So I am guessing that there is another Mac address, or some other bit of information that is used by Firefox when it reports to Google Maps my current location. Now that you have the back story, how do I find the Mac address or whatever information it is that Firefox (or other browsers) use to determine my Geolocation? Everything I have read online is rather vague. The next option I am considering is hooking a logging proxy onto Firefox and seeing what data it sends, but I'd rather find an easier method.     In Firefox you can easily save a group of tabs together. When (re-)accessing this group, the 'cascading' bookmark menu shows each individual bookmark (and under a line) it says "open all in tabs" I'm looking for a way to launch those tabs without going up through the bookmark menu. Possible options: A) Record a simple macro w/ any number of "superuser" utilities* ('A' is not the preferred option, since many 'little-macros' are hard to keep track of) b) Use Autohotkey (similar to option 'A' and more flexible once you learn the basics) c) How does Firefox load all those tabs? The info must be stored somewhere (as a type of URL??) Quick Summary: The moment I click on "open all in tabs", I am clicking on something very similar to a hyper-link. How do I find the content (exact code) of that 'hyper-link', and / or "How do I easily launch the tabs?" .. . New EDIT #1: I'm looking for a way to launch those tabs without going up through the bookmark menu, or cluttering the bookmarks toolbar which I hide anyway :o) .. . New EDIT #2: I tried to keep the question simple and not mentioning Autohotkey programming. The objective is to launch all tabs using a button on an AHK gui. When grawity said, "It's just an ordinary folder containing ordinary bookmarks," he (she) reminds me I can easily find the folder / Now how to launch to urls inside that folder? ..
