  • First could access the repository next cannot

    Hi! I have configured svnserve (1.6.5,plain, without apache) on Fedora 12. I could ran the following svn subcommands which access the repository after configuration. Such as, commit, update,checkout, list. But, when next time ( after stopping,ctrl-c and then starting svnserve)I tried above commands, could not access the repository. This is happening both from local and remote machine. I ran svn and svnserve as below. 'svn commit svn://127.0.0.1/myrepository/' from local client. 'svnserve -d --foregorund --listen-port=3690 -r /path-to-repository/mypository/' To understand the problem better, I created another repository and found similar behavior . Frist I could access the repository and next I could not. I tried doing strace on svnserve, but don't uderstand much of it.     I can't figure out why this statement is not working SELECT myChurches.id AS id, myChurches.church_name AS church_name FROM myChurches INNER JOIN church_staff ON church_staff.church_id=myChurches.id WHERE church_staff.mem_id='$logOptions_id' ORDER BY myChurches.church_name ASC Basically I need to find the person's that are staff members of a church from one table and want to get the 'name' of that church FROM the 'myChurches' table.   • First programming language: PHP, Ruby, Python?

    I've been a Web developer for over 5 years and am looking to start building more complex Web apps. Currently, I know HTML/CSS/Javascript but I feel it's time to start learning something else. I work with a lot of applications based on PHP. I created a vBulletin forum on my own time and I would definitely want to build off of that since it has gained a bit of popularity. I also work with Wordpress quite often. All of the software I work with tends to be based on PHP but I hear a lot of people say Ruby or Python is better. Since I'm starting out, I really don't care which one I learn but I want to start right. Any recommendations for someone with HTML/CSS/Javascript knowledge but wants to branch out?

    Hi guys, Any advice is welcome! I have a very limited understanding of php classes but below is my starting point for the route I would like to take. The code is a reflection of what I see in my head and how I would like to go about business. Does my code even look ok, or am I way off base? What are your thoughts, how would you go about achieving such a task as form-validate-insertquery-sendmail-return messages and errors?     I've been reading Metaprogramming Ruby and the object model like the chicken or egg dilemma. In Ruby 1.8, the Object class is an instance of Class. Module's superclass is Object and is an instance of Class. Class' superclass is Module, and it is an instance of Class (self-referential). Say class SomeClass; end is defined somewhere; SomeClass is an instance of Class, however its superclass is Object. Why does an instance of Class have Object as the superclass instead of nil? Also, if Object is to exist, then Class has to exist, but then Module has to exist, but for Module to exist Object has to exist. How are these classes created?

    Hi, not sure if i'm set things up incorrectly - I don't seem to see anyone else with this problem, but my qTip popups (all ajax loaded content) are loading quite erratically, in that they are often animating in from off screen before appearing in the correct position.     I am currently achieving the desired outcome with two PHP statements: $thisBlarg = $xmlResource->xpath('//blarg[@ID='.$someBlargID.']'); echo $thisBlarg[0]->name; But, not wanting to settle for second best, I'd really prefer this to be one statement, but PHP doesn't like this: echo $xmlResource->xpath('//blarg[@ID='.$someBlargID.']')[0]->name; And for good reason. But I can't find a way to force an xpath query to return the result directly. Any suggestions?

This is great because as I can see the advantage of reusing XAML skills on both the client and web development sides. But looking at WPF/XAML/Silverlight they seem very large technologies and so where is the best place to get start? I would like to hear from anyone who has good knowledge of both and can recommend which is a better starting point and why.
