    I am evaluating the use of code generation for my flight simulation project. More specifically there is a requirement to allow "the average engineer" (no offense I am one myself) to define the differential equations that describe the dynamic system in a more natural syntax than C++ provides. The idea is to devise a abstract descriptor language that can be easily understood and edited to generate C++ code from. This descriptor is supplied by the modeling engineer and used by the ones implementing and maintaining the simulation evironment to generate code. I've got something like this in mind: model Aircraft has state x1, x2; state x3; input double : u; input bool : flag1, flag2; algebraic double : x1x2; model Engine : tw1, tw2; model Gear : gear; model ISA : isa; trim routine HorizontalFight; trim routine OnGround, General; constant double : c1, c2; constant int : ci1; begin differential equations x1' = x1 + 2.*x2; x2' = x2 + x1x2; begin algebraic equations x1x2 = x1*x2 + x1'; end model It is important to retain the flexibility of the C language thus the descriptor language is meant to only define certain parts of the definition and implementation of the model class. This way one enigneer provides the model in from of the descriptor language as examplified above and the maintenance enigneer will add all the code to read parameters from files, start/stop/pause the execution of the simulation and how a concrete object gets instatiated. My first though is to either generate two files from the descriptor file: one .h file containing declarations and one .cpp file containing the implementation of certain functions.   • iPhone status bar orientation with opengl

    I have opengl only view that displays in portrait and landscape mode using projection matrix (view's transformation is identity all the time). I need to show status bar with proper orientation. I do this by setting status bar orientation property in UIApplication and changing frame of opengl view so the view won't go under status bar. When I change from landscape to portrait (landscape is the initial state) view's frame is set to (0, 20, 320, 460) and stays like this. However view appears to be translated by (-10, -10). It seems that I did change the size of view but couldn't move it. Weird things are: initialy view is full screen, I change it to (0, 0, 300, 480) (landscape with status bar) and it works then, it doesn't work when I try to chenge it for the second time (portrait with status bar) frame property of the view shows that view is placed correctly Any thoughts on what can by the problem?

    Some details: Webserver: Apache/2.2.13 (FreeBSD) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8e OS: FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE This is a FreeBSD Jail. I believe I use the Apache 'prefork' MPM (I run the default for FreeBSD). I use the default values for MaxClients (256) I have enabled mod_status, with "ExtendedStatus On". When I view /server-status , I see a handful of regular requests. I also see over 240 requests from the 'localhost', like these. 37-0 - 0/0/1 . 0.00 1510 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 38-0 - 0/0/1 . 0.00 1509 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 39-0 - 0/0/3 . 0.00 1482 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 40-0 - 0/0/6 . 0.00 1445 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 I also see about 2417 requests yesterday from the localhost, like these: Apr 14 11:16:40 192.168.16.127 httpd[431]: www.example.gov 127.0.0.2 - - [15/Apr/2010:11:16:40 -0700] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - "-" "Apache (internal dummy connection)" The page at http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/InternalDummyConnection says "These requests are perfectly normal and you do not, in general, need to worry about them", but I'm not so sure. Why are there over 230 of these? Are these active connections? If I have "MaxClients 256", and over 230 of these connections, it seems that my webserver is dangerously close to running out of available connections. It also seems like Apache should only need a handful of these "internal dummy connections" We actually had two unexplained outages last night, and I am wondering if these "internal dummy connection" caused us to run out of available connections. UPDATE 2010/04/16 It is 8 hours later. The /server-status page still shows that there are 243 lines which say "www.example.gov OPTION *". I believe these connections are not active. The server is mostly idle (1 requests currently being processed, 9 idle workers). There are only 18 active httpd processes on the Unix host. If these connections are not active, why do they show up under /server-status? I would have expected them to expire a few minutes after they were initialized.

    I just installed Apache 2 on CentOS5 from source (httpd-2.2.15.tar.gz) using: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache make make install /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl start I have verified that httpd is running in ps, and verified it is serving the default htdocs page. However, Apache is not found in 'service --status-all' and is not found in '/etc/init.d', so I cannot run 'service httpd status' or '/etc/init.d/httpd start', and other commands. Any ideas what I am missing?

    I did a wget on the source and built the apache binaries correctly. Now what do I need to do to get some documents accessible using HTTP (start some services?)? Also, do I need to group all the files I want to make accessible in some directory and make the directory and its contents accessible or can I just make the individual documents available? I will be providing these links to my colleagues and do not want them to be down, so need to make sure that the apache services are up automatically after a reboot. Does apache have some inbuilt support for this?

  • Unable to commit file through svn, server sent truncated HTTP response body

    I have my own VPS, on which I want to run a simple SVN + chiliproject setup. I have re-installed SVN, CHILI and the OS several times, and it always works for a couple of hours/days and then it just stops working. Well, everything works, except I can't upload any files. Committing directories seems to work just fine, but when I try to commit a file it breaks. The odd thing is that files won't get added, but directories are fine. I also have enough storage left on my machine. What I should note, perhaps, is that I use Ubuntu 12.04.3 with ruby 1.9.3, mysql 14.14 and I have it set up that Chiliproject handles the authentication and authorization for the project. It works, because I can commit directories and read it all correctly, though I can't upload files. Help would really be appreciated, as I don't know what on earth is going on with this 'truncated http response body'. I tried to read them with wireshark, but it basically gave me the same information. With regards, Ps. I have no clue what the delay between put and delete is, as it's a file of a mere 500 bytes, so it's uploaded in approximately a second. Pps. I copied this question from StackOverflow to this site, as I didn't know the existence of this site and another user suggested that I'd get more answers here, as it's basically a server fault.

  • How can I remove HTTP headers with .htaccess in Apache?

    I have a website that is sending out "cache-control" and "pragma" HTTP headers for PHP requests. I'm not doing that in the code, so I'm assuming it's some kind of Apache configuration, as suggested by this question (you don't really need to go there for this question's context) I don't have anything in my .htaccess files, so it's gotta be in Apache's configuration itself, but I can't access that, this is a shared hosting, I only have FTP access to my website's directory. Is there any way that I can add directives to my .htaccess files that will remove the headers added by the global configuration, or otherwise override the directive so that they're not added in the first place?     I updated my Tortoise SVN client today to TortoiseSVN 1.6.8, Build 19260 - 32 Bit , 2010/04/16 20:20:11 Subversion 1.6.11, apr 1.3.8 apr-utils 1.3.9 neon 0.29.3 OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009 zlib 1.2.3 However, I now don't see any Status icons for any folders/files. The client still works as expected but it is a bit frustrating to not see a visual status. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Skype has recently started showing my online status as constantly "online" even after I have been inactive for longer than the configured time period of 5 minutes. Things that I have tried: Reinstalling Skype on all PCs Disabling all Skype Extras I use the same skype account on my desktop, laptop, and Iphone. Any ideas on why my skype status may be stuck or any other suggestions to help resolve this? UPDATE: I deleted config.xml from %APPDATA%/gdalgas in an attempt to resolve this which didn't help.

  • Do I need to have a proxy server to have HTTP over SSH?

    I want to use HTTP over SSH since in my university most of the sites are blocked. I have my own server to which I can using SSH. What I'm doing right now is have a squid proxy run on the server on a particular port. Then connect using putty to my server via ssh and create a tunnel from a certain local port (which I will enter as proxy server in Firefox) to the squid server. So in putty the configuration is like this for the tunnel: source port:8080 destination:localhost:3128 I want to know is there any other way other than running the squid proxy on my server to tunnel the packets? Thanks.

    The WordPress .htaccess generally has the following rewrite rules: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> When I access a non-existent URL at my website, this rewrite rule gets hit, redirects to index.php, and serves up my custom 404.php template file. The status code that gets sent back to the client is the correct 404, as shown in this HTTP Live Headers output example: http://www.borngeek.com/nothere/ GET /nothere/ HTTP/1.1 Host: www.borngeek.com {...} HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found However, Apache reports the entire exchange with a 200 status code in my server log, as shown here in a log snippet (trimmed for simplicity): {...} "GET /nothere/ HTTP/1.1" 200 2155 "-" {...} This makes some sense to me, seeing as the original request was redirected to page that exists (index.php). Is there a way to force Apache to report the exchange as a 404? My problem is that bogus requests coming from Bad Guys show up as "successful requests" in the various server statistics software I use (AWStats, Analog, etc). I'd love to have them show up on the Apache side as 404s so that they get filtered out from the stat reports that get generated. I tried adding the following line to my .htaccess, but it had no effect (I'm guessing for the same reason as the previous redirect rules): ErrorDocument 404 /index.php?error=404 Does anyone have a clever way to fix this annoyance? Additional Info: OS is Debian 6.0.4, and Apache version looks to be 2.2.22-3 (hosted on DreamHost) The 404 being sent back to the client is being set by WordPress (i.e. I'm not manually calling header() anywhere)

  • Is it possible to host a website with Apache HTTP through a ZyXEL EQ-660R modem and a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router?

    Essentially, I have a spare desktop computer I'd like to turn into a web server, but my modem and wireless router are very difficult to work with. I installed Apache HTTP and successfully hosted a test page which can be accessed anywhere on the LAN. However, I'm having trouble setting up the server to be accessed from my external IP address. I was supplied with a ZyXEL EQ-660R DSL modem by my ISP (CenturyLink) and bought a Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router in which to connect my laptop and spare desktop. ZyXEL's website is no help, and I don't think much of the problem is with the Netgear router. I've played with many settings and have tried to forward port 80 from the modem, but I've had no luck. Could someone direct me toward a solution or recommendations for more promising hardware? Or should I admit defeat and explore other hobbies? :)

I recently asked a question about how to keep a backend connection persistent using Nginx, but found out it wasn't possible anyway, It is an HTTP/1.0 proxy without the ability for keep-alive requests yet. (As a result, backend connections are created and destroyed on every request.) It works all fine right now (since the connection between client and Nginx is kept alive and the result is simply the same), but I don't want to establish a new connection every single time a new request is received ,even if it's on a unix domain socket. So, what software (preferably open-source and not too tedious to configure) do you recommend to accomplish that such connections ?

    I am having trouble in terms of handling huge databases. I have multiple clients like 100-300 (clients are basically servers with i.e windows sql). Each client may have 38 thousand rows/listing of data, each row has 10-12 fields. I cannot afford to have json files of each client and than handle them on main server, because of memory issue. What if i have http server written in c or c# installed on clients and they return 250 rows in each response to the main server. How the factors like speed, memory or other issues can effect us ? What exactly I am asking for ? In short words if a server writter in c-sharp sends 250 rows per request. What factors can effect the performance of server ? for example. Speed, processing, Operating system, Implementation of algorithm of server ? How these factors can really effect the performance on large scale?

  • How can I redirect HTTP(S) traffic to another gateway?

    I have a network like 192.168.0.0/15 with the default gateway set to 192.168.0.1. All the workstations of the network use this gateway for all kind of accesses to the Internet. Now I am testing a new Internet connection with another provider and for that I'm using a second gateway on the same subnet with 192.168.0.2 as IP address. I want to redirect only HTTP and HTTPS traffic to this second gateway keeping untouched the address of the default gateway set inside every workstation. How can I accomplish this task? What I have to change inside the first's gateway firewall configuration or routes? I tried with a DNAT like: DNAT loc:192.168.0.1 loc:192.168.0.2 tcp 80 but nothing worked. I use Shorewall for simplicity in configuration but I can understand even theorical answers which I will try to adapt to my case.

Settings like the security details that you would want to make configurable already are, but if you take the .NET route you have to write quite a lot of code to manage those values via package variables. Using the connection manager we get all of that flexibility for free. The screenshot below illustrate some of the options we have. Using the HttpClientConnection class makes for much simpler code as well. I have demonstrated two methods, DownloadFile which just downloads a file to disk, and DownloadData which downloads the file and retains it in memory. In each case we show a message box to note the completion of the download.
