  Hi, I've been playing around with this for a couple of weeks now with no success... In a CKEditor dialog, text input fields are renamed with a unique number - e.g. id: 'txtUrl' will become something like id='27_textinput'. How do I reference this? // I feel it should be something like: var myfield = CKEDITOR.instances.myElement.document.$.body.getId('txtUrl'); // or maybe: var myfield = CKEDITOR.dialog.getContentElement('info','txtUrl'); // and then: myfield.value = 'myvalue'; But these don't work. • Input multiple file names in windows open file dialog box

  Windows 7 allows you to select multiple files to open at once by using ctrl or shift key. The "File Name" input field at the bottom of the dialog box would auto populate with the following sample: "aaa.txt" "bbb.txt" "ccc.txt" "ddd.txt" I have 14,000 files in a folder and I only need a range of files (approx 500). When I use the shift key to select a range of files, the "File Name" field auto populates all 500 file names. Windows would cut me off at the 260th character when I try to paste in a pre-generated string into the "File Name" field. Is there a way to bypass the 260 character limit so it would accept my entire string with 500 file names?

  I use the boost lexical_cast library for parsing text data into numeric values quite often. In several situations however, I only need to check if values are numeric; I don't actually need or use the conversion. So, I was thinking about writing a simple function to test if a string is a double: template<typename T> bool is_double(const T& s) { try { boost::lexical_cast<double>(s); return true; } catch (...) { return false; } } My question is, are there any optimizing compilers that would drop out the lexical_cast here since I never actually use the value? Is there a better technique to use the lexical_cast library to perform input checking?

• C++ cin problems. not capturing input from user

• android spectrum analysis of streaming input

  for a school project I am trying to make an android application that, once started, will perform a spectrum analysis of live audio received from the microphone or a bluetooth headset. I know I should be using FFT, and have been looking at moonblink's open source audio analyzer ( http://code.google.com/p/moonblink/wiki/Audalyzer ) but am not familiar with android development, and his code is turning out to be too difficult for me to work with. So I suppose my questions are, are there any easier java based, or open source android apps that do spectrum analysis I can reference? Or is there any helpful information that can be given, such as; steps that need be taken to get the microphone input, put it into an fft algorithm, then display a graph of frequency and pitch over time from its output? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

• MVC way of handling data input

  I have a data input module where I add the information of my product and its sub information like: product basic info product price info product price details price info and price details are related to product and are lists In my web forms approach I would store my main product object on the view state and I would populate it's pricing info and details while doing ajax postbacks. This way I can create a compact module that is very user friendly in terms of defining a lot of data from one place without the need to enter these data from seperate modules. And when I am done I would do one product.save() and that would persist all the data to the respective tables on db. Now I am building similar app on .net mvc framework and pondering on what would be the good way of handling this on mvc. I don't resonate towards storing all this on client side till I click save. And saving to the db after each action makes me remember the days I was coding on asp. Will appreciate your inputs on ways to approach this on mvc framework

• Trying to read keyboard input without blocking (Windows, C++)

  I'm trying to write a Windows console application (in C++ compiled using g++) that will execute a series of instructions in a loop until finished OR until ctrl-z (or some other keystroke) is pressed. The code I'm currently using to catch it isn't working (otherwise I wouldn't be asking, right?): if(kbhit() && getc(stdin) == 26) //The code to execute when ctrl-z is pressed If I press a key, it is echoed and the application waits until I press Enter to continue on at all. With the value 26, it doesn't execute the intended code. If I use something like 65 for the value to catch, it will reroute execution if I press A then Enter afterward. Is there a way to passively check for input, throwing it out if it's not what I'm looking for or properly reacting when it is what I'm looking for? ..and without having to press Enter afterward?

• How to prevent bad formatted data input in DataGridViewCell

  I have an automatically binded DataGridView that obtains data and update data directly from a Strongly Typed Dataset and its TableAdapter. the DataGridView allows data editing but I'm having issues dealing with bad formatted data input. For example, one of the columns is a date, formatted in the database as datetime, 11/05/2010. You can edit the date and the DataGridView opens a TextBox in wich you can enter letters, simbols and other unauthorised characters. When you finish editing the cell if has such bad data it throws a System.FormatException How can I prevent some data to be entered? Is there a way to "filter" that data before it is sent back to the DataGridView?

Namely, in the code below two commands both return the same two items File1.txt and File2.txt. But conversion to string[] gives different results, see the comments. Any ideas why is it?   I would like to implement a std::stream modifier/parser, that is doing data manipulation on the fly. Is it possible to create it in form of stream manipulator? For example, i want to strip all the line comments (from any // to the end of line) out of the stdin and pass it to stdout. string str; istream strippingCin = cin >> stripcomments; while(strippingCin.good()) { strippingCin >> str; cout << str; } There may be also a large file input instead of cin, so i don't want to load full stream data into memory at once.   I want to be able to record mouse movements, clicks and keyboard input from a user. It would be great if it was a cross platform solution. I'd like to get back something like this (pseudo code): mouse moved to 500, 500 mouse double clicked mouse moved to 800, 300 mouse left clicked keyboard typed "Hello World" Does either C++ or Java have any classes that can do this? If I was using C++, I would probably working with the QT framework. Edit: I should have said this originally, but I want to record the movements and clicks outside of the applications gui, so on the desktop too.

• IE7 and IE8 change event not being thrown for text input

  I have a form that I auto focus at startup of the page with jquery. I also have change event handlers in place for whenever an input changes. If I change the value of the first field that was autofocused, and then move to the next field, the change event handler doesn't fire. If I remove the autofocusing, and just focus manually, then change it then move to the next field, the change event does fire. This only happens on IE. It works fine on firefox and chrome. Anyone experience this before?

• Submitting GET data with no input field?

  I've never really thought about this, but it helps with some security of something I'm currently working on. Is it possible to submit GET data without an actual input field, and instead just getting it from the URL? If so, how would I go about doing this? It kind of makes sense that it should be possible, but at the same time it makes no sense at all. Perhaps I've been awake too long and need some rest. • How can I restore my original IME Romaji input settings?

  the this one, Japanese IME on Windows: switch back to romaji input method (3) did not help. The problem seems the same. My Vista home premium version PC, I had been using Microsoft IME to use English and Japanese input using romaji henkan for a long time. One day, all of a sudden, first when I started up the PC, it has cap lock indicator ON. So, I press SHIFT key, CAP lock indicator is off!(This I have to do every morning.) Now when I want to type romaji input to change to Japanese, I switch EN English (United States) to "JP Japanese (Japan) and select input to hiragana input. It worked until that day. But now when I set to input romaji for hiragana as I used to do and start typing, then it shows Japanese hiragana directly on the display just as keyboard setting as Japanese ???109???????? as shown in Wikipedia JIS keyboard. And I cannot show hiragana as I wanted ( I can convert to Kanji OK) etc. by hitting space key. But its key board arrangement is what I never learned. Other thing I found is when I hit "`" key, it switches between hiragana and alphabet. When I see Control panel setting it is the same setting as I have seen. Please suggest me a solution to get the original setting for IME input mode as I used to do. John K.

  Hello everybody, I've been trying to find a python code that would log in to my mail box on yahoo.com from "Google App Engine". That log-in form contains two fields, one for users' Yahoo! ID and another one is for users' password. However, when I tried this code out (substituting mu real Yahoo login for 'my-login-here' and my real password for 'my-password-here'), it just return the log-in form back to me, which means that something didn't work right. Another supporter suggested that I should send an MD5 hash of my password, rather than a plain password.
