  • display data from json file in datagrid

    - by kayn
    I want to display data from a json files in a data grid using dojo ver 1.0.0. I am able to diplay the data when i declare it on my code but when i store the same data in a json format so i can reference it in my script,i get an empty grid. This is my json file; { data: [ ['10''myfile','Css', 'CS Degree','Dr. Bottoman','This is mine'], ['10'myfile2','CS716', 'CS Degree','Prof Frank', 'This is course'], ['10'myfile3 ','CS714', 'CS Degree', 'Dr. Ree', 'Welcome'], ['14', 'myfile4','CS772', 'CS Degree', 'Mr. Boss', 'This will display content' ], ['18', 'myfile5','CS774', 'CS Degree','Ms. Kirk', 'This is networks.' ] ] } and below is my code; @import "../../../dojo/resources/dojo.css"; @import "../_grid/Grid.css"; body { font-size: 1.0em; } #grid { height: 400px; border: 1px solid silver; } .text-oneline { white-space: nowrap; overflow: hidden; text-overflow: ellipsis; } .text-scrolling { height: 4em; overflow: auto; } .text-scrolling { width: 21.5em; } dojo.require("dojox.grid.Grid"); dojo.require("dojox.grid._data.model"); dojo.require("dojo.parser"); <script type="text/javascript"> /*<span dojoType="dojo.data.ItemFileWriteStore" jsId="myStore" url="course.json"> </span>*/ data = [ ['10''myfile','Css', 'CS Degree','Dr. Bottoman','This is mine'], ['10'myfile2','CS716', 'CS Degree','Prof Frank', 'This is course'], ['10'myfile3 ','CS714', 'CS Degree', 'Dr. Ree', 'Welcome'], ['14', 'myfile4','CS772', 'CS Degree', 'Mr. Boss', 'This will display content' ], ['18', 'myfile5','CS774', 'CS Degree','Ms. Kirk', 'This is networks.' ] ]; getDetailData = function(inRowIndex) { var row = data[this.grid.dataRow % data.length ]; switch (this.index) { case 0: return row[5]; case 1: return row[2]; case 2: return row[0]; case 3: return row[1]; case 4: return row[3]; case 5: return row[4]; default: return row[this.index]; } } getName = function(inRowIndex) { var row = data[inRowIndex % data.length]; return row[1]; } // Main grid structure var gridCells = [ { type: 'dojox.GridRowView', width: '20px' }, { onBeforeRow: function(inDataIndex, inSubRows) { inSubRows[1].hidden = !detailRows[inDataIndex]; }, cells: [[ { name: 'Master', width: 3, get: getCheck, styles: 'text-align: center;' }, { name: 'Detail', get: getName, width: 60 }, ], [ { name: '', get: getDetail, colSpan: 2, styles: 'padding: 0; margin: 0;'} ]] } ]; // html for the +/- cell function getCheck(inRowIndex) { var image = (detailRows[inRowIndex] ? • Converting JSON into Python dict

    - by GrumpyCanuck
I've been searching around trying to find an answer to this question, and I can't seem to track it down. Maybe it's too late in the evening to figure the answer out, so I turn to the excellent readers here. I have the following bit of JSON data that I am pulling out of a CouchDB record: "{\"description\":\"fdsafsa\",\"order\":\"1\",\"place\":\"22 Plainsman Rd, Mississauga, ON, Canada\",\"lat\":43.5969175,\"lng\":-79.7248744,\"locationDate\":\"03/24/2010\"},{\"description\":\"sadfdsa\",\"order\":\"2\",\"place\":\"50 Dawnridge Trail, Brampton, ON, Canada\",\"lat\":43.7304774,\"lng\":-79.8055435,\"locationDate\":\"03/26/2010\"}," This data is stored inside a Python dict under the key 'locations' in a dict called 'my_plan'. I want to covert this data from CouchDB into a Python dict so I can do the following in a Django template: {% for location in my_plan.locations %} <tr> <td>{{ location.place }}</td> <td>{{ location.locationDate }}</td> </tr> {% endfor %} I've found lots of info on converting dicts to JSON, but nothing on going back the other way Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Middleware for MongoDB or CouchDB with jQuery Ajax/JSON frontend

    - by Tauren
I've been using the following web development stack for a few years: java/spring/hibernate/mysql/jetty/wicket/jquery For certain requirements, I'm considering switching to a NoSQL datastore with an AJAX frontend. I would probably build the frontend with jQuery and communicate with the web application middleware using JSON. I'm leaning toward MongoDB because of more dynamic query capabilities, but am still considering CouchDB. I'm not sure what to use in the middle. Probably something RESTful? My preference is to stick with Java (or maybe Scala or Groovy) since I'm using tools like Drools for rules and Shiro for security. But then again, I want to pick something that is quick an easy to work with, so I'm open to other solutions. If you are building ajax/json/nosql solutions, I'd like to hear details about what tools you are using and any pros/cons you've found to using them. Thanks!

  • What Features Do You Want To See in .NET 5/C# 5?

    - by Randolpho
.NET 4 and Visual Studio 2010 are finally here, along with a host of new features. But we wouldn't be who we are if we didn't long for a feature that didn't make the cut, or that was never even considered. So sound off and let the folks at Microsoft know: What features do you want to see in .NET 5? What features do you want to see in C# 5? F#? VB.NET? Before you vote to close: some may find this question too subjective to let stand, but there are other threads that have stood the test of time. Let this one stand as well.

  • Getting a specific number of JSON items with jQuery from tumblr feed

    - by Kevin Whitaker
Hello all. I'm trying to populate a page with X entries from my tumblr feed, and I'm wondering how I can only pull that X number from the JSON object it returns. Here's my code, pulled from another Stack Overflow post and modified: //Tumblr retrieval $.getJSON("http://tumblr-address/api/read/json?callback=?", function(data) { $.each(data.posts, function(i,posts){ var title = this["regular-title"]; var type = this.type; var date = this.date; var url = this["url-with-slug"]; $('#sideRail ol').prepend('<li><p><a href=' +url +'>' + title + '</a></p><p>' + date + '</p></li>'); }); }); I've tried using a while loop with a counter, but it just repeats everything X times before moving on to the next item in the list. Thanks for any help.

  • Rails ActiveRecord BigNum to JSON

    - by Jon Hoffman
Hi, I am serializing an ActiveRecord model in rails 2.3.2 to_json and have noticed that BigNum values are serialized to JSON without quotes, however, javascript uses 64 bits to represent large numbers and only ~52(?) of those bits are available for the integer part, the rest are for the exponent. So my 17 digit numbers become rounded off, grrr. Try the following in the Firebug console: console.log(123456789012345678) So, I'm thinking that the json encoder should be smart enough to quote numbers that are too big for the javascript engines to handle. How do I fix up rails to do that? Or, is there a way to override the encoding for a single property on the model (I don't want to_s elsewhere)? Thanks.

  • serializing JSON files with newlines in Python

    - by user248237
I am using json and jsonpickle sometimes to serialize objects to files, using the following function: def json_serialize(obj, filename, use_jsonpickle=True): f = open(filename, 'w') if use_jsonpickle: import jsonpickle json_obj = jsonpickle.encode(obj) f.write(json_obj) else: simplejson.dump(obj, f) f.close() The problem is that if I serialize a dictionary for example, using "json_serialize(mydict, myfilename)" then the entire serialization gets put on one line. This means that I can't grep the file for entries to be inspected by hand, like I would a CSV file. Is there a way to make it so each element of an object (e.g. each entry in a dict, or each element in a list) is placed on a separate line in the JSON output file? thanks.

  • jquery - access json data from php

    - by Cinaird
    I have a problem accessing JSON data. I'm new to JSON an jquery so there is probably a easy solution to it and i would be glad to find out. My jQuery: $.post( "currentPage.php", { 'currentPage': 1 }, function(data){ $("body").append(data); } ); currentPage.php: $returnArray['left'] = 'test_left'; $returnArray['right'] = 'test_right'; $returnArray['numLeft'][] = 1; $returnArray['numRight'][] = 2; $returnArray['numRight'][] = 3; print json_encode($returnArray); i tried to access the data like this: data.left data['left'] but it returns blank, how is the best way to access the data?

  • remove json attribute where attribute is a variable

    - by pedalpete
    I have a news feed where items in the feed are created from JSON returned from a server. When the user takes an action on an item, I want to remove it from the object via javascript. The feed looks like this: {"newsFeed":[{"feedId":"1", "title":"item1 title", "desc":"description of the item"}, {"feedId":"2", "title":"item2 title", "desc":"description of the item"}]} I'm trying to remove a JSON attribute or entry where the feedId is passed in via a variable using jQuery. I'm not sure exactly where I'm going wrong here, but when I alert the feed before and after the removal of the object, I'm getting the same response: function removeFromFeed(feedId){ var newsFeed=jQuery('div#newsFeed').data('newsFeed'); alert(newsFeed.toSource()); delete newsFeed.feedId[feedId] jQuery('div#newsFeed').data('newsFeed',newsFeed); alert(newsFeed.toSource()); }

  • jQuery and CodeIgniter AJAX with JSON not working

The jQuery code: var item = "COOL!"; $.post("http://192.168.8.138/index.php/main/test", { "item" : item }, function(data){ alert(data.result); }, "json"); The CodeIgniter code: <?php class main extends Controller { function test() { $item = trim($this->input->post('item')); $array = array('result' => $item); echo json_encode($array); } } ?> I tried to access the http://192.168.8.138/index.php/main/test page manually and it seems to be working, I got: {"result":""} I also tried to use Firebug to see XMLHttpRequest but saw nothing. • mySql table returning JSON that needs formatting for a iPhone UITableview

    - by Michael Robinson
I have a php query the returns the following JSON format from a table. [{"memberid":"18", "useridFK":"30", "loginName":"Johnson", "name":"Frank", "age":"23", "place":"School", }, It needs the following format: [{"memberid":"18" { "useridFK":"30", "loginName":"Johnson", "name":"Frank", "age":"23", "place":"School",} }, I can figure out where/how to convert this, Where would I create the formatting following: (1) In the php return? (2) the JSON instructions for deserialization? or (3) Some kinb of Obj-C coding instruction? My end use is a simple Drill Down table using the NSObject, so when I select "memberid" row, I'll get the child/detail list on the next UITableview. My Data.plist will look like the following: Root: Dictionary V Rows: Array V Item 0: Dictionary Title: String 18 V Children Array V Item 0 Dictionary Title String 30 etc. Thanks in advance, this site rocks.

  • JSON in an AJAX request

    - by Josh K
    I have a PHP API I'm working with that outputs everything as JSON. I need to call one of the API methods and parse it out using an AJAX request. I am using jQuery (though it shouldn't matter). When I make the request it errors out with a "parsererror" as the textStatus and a "Syntax Error: invalid label" when I make the request. Simplified code: $.ajax ({ type: "POST", url: "http://mydomain.com/api/get/userlist/"+mid, dataType: "json", dataFilter: function(data, type) { /* Here we assume and pray */ users = eval(data); alert(users[1].id); }, success: function(data, textStatus, XMLHttpRequest) { alert(data.length); // Should be an array, yet is undefined. }, error: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) { alert(textStatus); alert(errorThrown); }, complete: function(XMLHttpRequest, textStatus) { alert("Done"); } });

  • Does a .NET 4.0 website load faster for a reason?

    - by Clarence Klopfstein
I have been using DotNetBlogEngine for many years, and today my host (JodoHost.com) officially turned on support for .NET 4.0. What I've noticed immediately is that the website loads tremendously faster on the first load, subsequent loads are only slightly faster. The website is compiled as a .NET 2.0 web application. Is there a known reason for this performance increase? Was there a change in the .NET 4.0 framework that improved the initial load time of websites into an application pool? This is hosted on a 2003 server. Here is the site for reference: http://www.ocdprogrammer.com

  • JSON Date coming through as Today's date?

    - by Liam
I'm trying to convert a JSON date to a dd/mm/yyyy format, which I'm managing to do semi-successfully. The problem I'm encountering is that the date from the record in the DB is for example, 2009-06-29 which is returning the usual JSON /Date(1246230000000)/, however, when I try and turn it into the previously mention dd/mm/yyyy format, it's coming through as today's date. The code I'm using to try and do this is: $('input#EmployeeName').result(function(event, data, formatted) { $('#StartDate').html(formatJSONDate(Date(!data ? '' : data.StartDate))); }); function formatJSONDate(jsonDate) { var newDate = dateFormat(jsonDate, "dd/mm/yyyy"); return newDate; } I'm using JavaScript Date Format to try and run the function. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Using a variable as identifier in a json array

    - by Robbert van den Bogerd
Hi folks! I'm wondering if it is possible to use assigned variables as identifier in a json array. When I tried this, I was getting some unexpected results: (Code is simplified, parameters are passed in a different way) var parameter = 'animal'; var value = 'pony'; Util.urlAppendParameters (url, {parameter : value}); Util.urlAppendParameters = function(url, parameters) { for (var x in parameters) { alert(x); } } Now the alert popup says: 'parameter' instead of 'animal'. I know I could use a different method (creating an array and assigning every parameter on a new line), but I want to keep my code compact. So my question is: Is it possible to use a variable as an identifier in the json array, and if so, could you please tell me how? Thanks in advance!

  • Best way to save complex Python data structures across program sessions (pickle, json, xml, database

    - by Malcolm
Looking for advice on the best technique for saving complex Python data structures across program sessions. Here's a list of techniques I've come up with so far: pickle/cpickle json jsonpickle xml database (like SQLite) Pickle is the easiest and fastest technique, but my understanding is that there is no guarantee that pickle output will work across various versions of Python 2.x/3.x or across 32 and 64 bit implementations of Python. Json only works for simple data structures. Jsonpickle seems to correct this AND seems to be written to work across different versions of Python. Serializing to XML or to a database is possible, but represents extra effort since we would have to do the serialization ourselves manually. Thank you, Malcolm

Currently, my database structure is the following: idcomponente | quantidade After fetching the values in PHP, I want to know how can I encode them using JSON (with multiple rows, using the same names) so I can read them using jQuery.post(). $.post('test.php',{id:id},function(data){ //READ data HERE }); Thanks in advance Edit: So far, I made this: $.post('edit/producomponentes.php',{id:id},function(data){ console.log(data); }); Logs this: [Object { componente="1", quantidade="2"}, Object { componente="3", quantidade="3"}] Now how can I go through each row and fetch their properties? (data.componente, data.quantidade)

Hi, I've got some images saved inside a db in a server and want to use them for my iphone. I created a php file so I can access them with json, got some questions though. I save all the text data from the db to a nsdictonary and it works fine. For the images should I use nsdata? Should I write a new php file for getting the image or is one enough because I am using an array to store my objects and then I use json_encode($arr) for json. Is it ok to store data to an array or is everything gonna crash?
