• Auto-rebooting blackberry [closed]

  My BlackBerry Bold (9000) auto-reboots approximately daily, generally while I am listening to podcasts that have been saved to my add-in memory card. Neither the built-in card nor my add-in card are full. An OS update had no effect. I am using the default media player. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone know how to fix this problem?

• How can I disable the IR/Remote Control on an HP Laptop?

  I've seen this happen on 2 different HP laptops now. If I try to use them in the same room as a Media Center, the MCE TV remote keeps sending commands to the laptop. This can do anything from wake it up and turn it on to just moving the selection around. There is no obvious way to disable the IR sensor or at least its response to the remote. Does anyone know how to do this?

When a playlist is created, is a copy of the song made? eg, the playlist has it's "own" copy of the songs in the playlist? OR, does it just "bookmark" where each song in its list is, and play it from there? Thanks!

  I have a bunch of media files which I want to record to DVD, but since each DVD only fits 4.5GB, I have to find the optimal way to organize the files to use the minimum number of DVDs (otherwise the empty space left in each DVD can easily add up). Are there any tools to help with this? Many years ago there was a DOS utility to do this with floppy disks.

  What is the best method to rip/encode a standard definition DVD, to be streamed to a Xbox360 from a Vista Media Center pc (preferably using free software). I’ve found tons of tutorials on the web explaining how to create wmv’s from vob files using FFMpeg, but every combination of settings that I have tried has resulted in very poor video quality. I’ve also tried various video conmversion tools, but everything seems to result in poor video quality, or audio that is out of sync with the picture. Please help!

  I'm using a TV to USB capture thingy called Hauppauge USB-Live2 (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_usblive2.html) and I'm using Media Player Classic Home Cinema to view my device's output, and finally I'm using Fraps to record the output off of MPC. It all works nicely except I can't get my mic to record, or even show up in the "Record External Input" area of Fraps while my Hauppauge is plugged in.   When I was still on Windows XP, I used ffdshow to take care of all my video and audio codecs needs (with fully customizable subtitles). I did not need any other video player except Windows Media Player. Is there an ffdshow equivalent for the Mac?   When using Windows 7N and embedded videos for YouTube and the like my users have been getting a black box. I tracked this down to when HTML5 is being used for rendering. Other than putting a bunch of sites in compatibility mode or installing the Windows Media Pack (which resolves this issue) is there another route I can take? My guess is it's only a single registry key or DLL that says 'I'm not HTML5 compatible' but I don't have any idea how to find it.

  Hi, I have custom class level validation attribute, inheriting from ValidationAttribute, on my model. How come it doesn't register a key in the ModelState when its IsValid is false? I can see the the error message in the ModelState.Values collection, but the ModelState.Keys collection only shows an empty string "". Can I provide a key for it - presumably this is because its not assigned to a property? I wanna be able to use ModelState.Remove in my controller to remove this error upon a certain condition, but I have no Key! Any ideas?

• Ruby Irb reacts strangely to control keys

  Hi. I'm (extremely) new to Ruby, having started today. I just moved from my system's Ruby 1.8 installation to Ruby 1.9, compiled from source. In doing so, irb has taken a turn for the worse. It reacts in a most unfriendly way to the non-alphanumeric control keys: UP key prints: ^[[A DOWN key prints: ^[[B DELETE key prints: ^[[3~ ...and so on. The main result of this for me is that I have no access to previously issued commands. Nor does tab-completion work; though none of this seems to be an issue with Wirble - the same happens when I remove my ~/.irbrc. I'm using: Ubuntu 9.10 GNOME Terminal 2.28.1 ruby 1.9.1p376 (2009-12-07 revision 26041) [i686-linux] Irb version 0.9.5 (05/04/13) Any ideas? :(

• Java Media Framework always generating multicast packets with TTL=1

  I need to generate a G711 multicast audio stream, and came across the AVTransmit2 sample as part of the Java Media Framework. Fundementally this works, however the multicast packets all have TTL set to 1. I found some documentation that suggested the SessionAddress could specify a TTL value, so I've tried changing that i.e. destAddr = new SessionAddress( ipAddr, port, 255); I also found some comments that the problems might be due to java defaulting to IPv6, so I've tried to force it to ipv4 by starting it like this: java -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true -classpath "." AVTransmit2 javasound://8000 239.1.10.65 20480 However looking in wireshark, the packets still have TTL=1 I'm using JMF2.1.1e Any suggestions how to resolve this?

I have a certificate (in DER format) from which I extract the keys to sign the message. For some reason I keep getting an ugly segmentation fault error when I call the "sign_update" method. Given the previous examples I have read here, I am clearly missing something. • SQL Server 2008 Restore from Backup fails with error 3241 'cannot process this media family'

  I am attempting to backup a database from a SQL Server instance on one machine and restore it to another, and I am encountering the frequently discovered 'SQL Server cannot process this media family' error. Each of my instances are SQL Server 2008, but with different patch levels Restore: 10.0.2531.0 Backup: 10.0.1600.22 ((SQL_PreRelease).080709-1414 ) The restore DB is express. Not sure about the backup version. The backup version is on a virtual private server. The restore is on my development box. When I restore to a different database on the source (backup) server, it restores fine. Lots of stuff on google about this issue, some on stackoverflow about this issue, but nothing which is this exact situation. Any thoughts? It should be straightforward to do a backup and restore from one machine to another (having done this thousands of times in with SQL 6.5,7,2000,2005).

All of my attempts to move the blackNotePanel over by an arbitrary width -- wrapping it a BorderLayout, a MigLayout, etc. -- have failed or changed the spacing of the GridLayout radically. Any suggestions on how to move this over to the right by an arbitrary amount in pixels?

  We are migrating application from Delphi to Flex (Air) that plays mp3 files from random access big file. it has positions and sizes to extract mp3 data to FileStream-MemoryStream and then we use bass.dll to play it from memory stream. Now I have to play those same mp3's in flex but I am not sure how...
