  • Work with AJAX response with DOM methods

    I'm retrieving an entire HTML document via AJAX - and that works fine. But I need to extract certain parts of that document and do things with them. Using a framework (jquery, mootools, etc) is not an option. The only solution I can think of is to grab the body of the HTML document with a regex (yes, I know, terrible) ie. <body>(.*)</body> put that into the current page's DOM in a hidden element, and work with it from there. Is there an easier/better way? Update I've done some testing, and inserting an entire HTML document into a created element behaves a bit differently across browsers I've tested. For example: FF3.5: keeps the contents of the HEAD and BODY tags IE7 / Safari4: Only includes what's between ... Opera 10.10: Keeps HEAD and everything inside it, Keeps contents of BODY The behavior of IE7 and Safari are ideal, but different browsers are doing this differently. Since I'm loading a predetermined HTML document I think I'm going to use the regEx to grab what I want and insert it into a DOM element - unless someone has other suggestions.

    After sending an invite request i receive a trying answer, and immidietly after that i receive error 407 proxy authentication required. After sending ack & another invite with the proxy header i receive session progress about 1/4 of the time!! other times it just sends 407 error again & again. Any ideas?

My question is this: what is the best way to handle the situation when a search engine visits a URL corresponding to a removed article? Should the app respond with a permanent redirect (301 Moved Permanently) to a "article not found" page, or is there a better way to handle this?

    I want to be able to create a file from the Content Provider, however I get the following error: java.io.Filenotfoundexception: /0: open file failed: erofs (read-only file system) What I am trying to do is create a file whenever an application calls the insert method from my Provider. This is the excerpt of the code that does the file creation: FileWriter fstream = new FileWriter(valueKey); BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(fstream); out.write(valueContent); out.close(); Originally I wanted to use openFileOutput() but the function appears to be undefined. Anyone has a workaround to this problem? EDIT: I found out that I had to specify the directory as well. Here is a more complete snippet of the code: File file = new File("/data/data/Project.Package.Structure/files/"+valueKey); file.createNewFile(); FileWriter fstream = new FileWriter(file); BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(fstream); out.write(valueContent); out.close(); I also enabled the permission <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_INTERNAL_STORAGE" /> This time I got an error saying: java.io.IOException: open failed: ENOENT (No such file or directory)

  • jQuery ajax response not operating correctly

    Ok this is frustrating... The code below works "correctly" as far as sending the email address to the SaveEmail URL and it gets saved correctly each time I change the drop down. However it only outputs the "Successful" message once, no matter how many times I change the value in the drop down. The "data" that is returned is "Successful". I would like to show the message for a couple seconds, then fade it out. It works correctly the first time I change the drop down, after that the change happens and the value gets saved, but the "Successful" message doesn't display. jQuery code: $('#AgentEmails').change(function() { var NewAddress = $('#AgentEmails').val(); $.post('SaveEmail.aspx', { email: NewAddress }, function(data) { $('#SelectMsg').html("<b>" + data + "</b>").fadeOut(); }); }); HTML code: <select ID='AgentEmails' runat='server'> <option value="[email protected]">TEST</option> </select><span id='SelectMsg'></span> What needs to be changed in my code to make this operate correctly?   • Write to the second line of a PHP file

    I have a php file that I want to add an include path to on the second line. I need to open the file and inset a line of code on line 2. I have tried a few techniques none of which are working but I think it has something to do with the text I am trying to write and possibly not escaping character correctly as I am not too familiar with file writing. So here is the file I want to write to: $file = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'].'/'.$domaindir.'/test.php'; Here is the piece of text I want to insert into the file: $dbfile = "include('".$_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']."/".$domaindir."/web_".$dbname.".inc.php');"; Then what I was doing was a string replace but all it did was bump the "session_start();" bit to a newline! Can anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial that might tell me how to insert this into the second line of my php file or indeed if anyone has any ideas? I can say for sure that the path to the PHP file is fully tested so i know its not that the file is not being open or written to. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Programmatically Update UITableView in Response to Button Press

    I have a completely custom view that holds a UITableView and a Custom Tab Bar (basically a UIView that contains 6 UIButtons). I am loading data from a plist file, and then I am sorting the data into multiple arrays based on categories (an array for misc items, and array for mail items, etc.) Each button in the tab bar represents a category, and when I press the button I call the custom function "miscSelected" and so on. How can I have the table view completely reload and then display the tableview based on the array selected (select the misc category and the tableview clears itself and loads the misc array data, same for any other category)? The method I have experimented with is created and NSString named "selection" and then in each button function I set selected to equal whatever section I am selecting. In my cellForRoxAtIndexPath method I have this: if ([self.selection isEqualToString:@"All Items"]) { NSArray *mainDataArray = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:self.plistFile]; NSSortDescriptor *brandDescriptor = [[NSSortDescriptor alloc] initWithKey:@"name" ascending:YES]; NSArray *sortDescriptors = [NSArray arrayWithObject:brandDescriptor]; self.sortedData = [mainDataArray sortedArrayUsingDescriptors:sortDescriptors]; } else if ([self.selection isEqualToString:@"Misc Items"]){ self.sortedData = [NSArray arrayWithContentsOfFile:self.plistFile]; } cell.itemTitle.text = [[self.sortedData objectAtIndex:indexPath.row] objectForKey:@"name"]; For the sake of example and testing I am simply displaying the same data, just one button displays it in alphabetical order and the other does not. This code works only when I start to scroll down and back up, but it does not actually update on button press. Calling myTable reloadData does not do anything either.     Is there a HTTP status code to tell Google (and others) to go away, index me again later? Basically, one that semantically tells clients that the site is down for maintenance? The ones I have considered are 304 => Not modified 307 => Temporary redirect 410 => Gone 503 => Service Unavailable I'm leaning towards the last one, but was just curious as to which one was proper choice.     Hi, I'm building a Rails app that does conversion tracking on outside sites. And also by the __type variable, no thanks don't really want that in my Json :-( How do I set the root node in my data to replace that d? Where did the d come from? So many questions... The code will run without error. I need to optimize the code, because in peak hours the zf_TickEvent method will be call more than 10000 times a second. I use a memorystream to hold the data until it reaches a certain size, then I output it into a text file.     I'm trying to import one of the GWT samples into Eclipse by following the instructions below. But when I browse to the directory containing the "Hello" sample and uncheck "Copy projects into workspace", the Finish button is grayed out, preventing me from completing the import. Any ideas why? -- Option A: Import your project into Eclipse (recommended) -- If you use Eclipse, you can simply import the generated project into Eclipse. We've tested against Eclipse 3.3 and 3.4. Later versions will likely also work, earlier versions may not. In Eclipse, go to the File menu and choose: File - Import... - Existing Projects into Workspace Browse to the directory containing this file, select "Hello". Be sure to uncheck "Copy projects into workspace" if it is checked. Click Finish.

    We have a current eCommerce Site that runs on ASP.NET and we hired a consultant to develop an new site bases on SOA. The new site architecture is as follows Web Application : Single Page Web Application (built on javascript/jquery templates - do not use any MVVM frameworks) that uses some javascript thrown all over the place. Service Layer : Very very light Service Layer that does not do anything other than calling a single stored procedure and pass in the entire http request. Database : The entire site content is in the database. The database does the heavy lifting of parsing the request and based on the HTTP method and some input parameter calls the appropriate Store Procedures or views and renders the result in JSON/XML. We have been told by them that this is built on latest and greatest technologies. I have a lot of concerns and of them given are the few Load on the Database SEO concerns for single page application as this is a public facing website Scalablity? Is this SOA? Cross Browser compatability (Site does not work in < IE9) Realistic implementaion of Single page application I know something is not right but I just need to validate my concerns here. Please help me.

    I'm using the ddslick jquery dropdown plugin in conjunction with my Rails app. In view1, I have $('#challenges_dropdown').ddslick({ <snipped> onSelected: function (data) { $.ajax({ url: "/load_data", type: "GET", data: {"id": data.selectedData.value} }); } }); I.e., I make a call to my controller to load_data. The controller receives this correctly and then at the end, makes a call to render a separate view render "data" This view contains a script snippet that needs to run in order to update some elements of my original view. For some reason, this script snippet is just not running. I'm very confused. When I use a regular link with data-remote="true", then the whole process works perfectly. However, when I make an AJAX call, it fails. What's going on?? Thanks! Ringo

  • (closed) nodejs responding an image (via pipe and response.end()) leads into strange behaviour

    What the Problem was: I had 2 different writeStreams! If WriteStram#1 is closed, the second should be closed too and then it all should be piped... BUT node is asynchronious so while one has been closed, the other one hasn't. Even the stream.end() was called... well you always should wait for the close event! thx guys for your help! I am at my wit's end. I used this code to pipe an image to my clients: req.pipe(fs.createReadStream(__dirname+'/imgen/cached_images/' + link).pipe(res)) it does work but sometimes the image is not transferred completely. But no error is thrown neither on client side (browser) nor on server side (node.js). My second try was var img = fs.readFileSync(__dirname+'/imgen/cached_images/' + link); res.writeHead(200, { 'Content-Type' : 'image/png' }); res.end(img, 'binary'); but it leads to the same strange behaviour... Does anyone got a clue for me? Regards!
