  • How does the default Camera iPhone app manages to save a photo so fast?

    Hello everyone. So far I've managed to create an app for iPhone that takes multiple images with about a 3 second interval between each. I`m processing each image in a separate thread asynchronously and everything is great till it gets to the moment for saving the image on the iPhone disk. Then it takes about 12 seconds to save the image to the disk using JPEG representation. How does Apple do it, how do they manage to save a single image so fast to the disk is there a trick they are using? I saw that the animations distract the user for a while, but still the time needed is below 12 seconds! Thanks in advance.

    So I am using the code located here: http://wwwx.cs.unc.edu/~sjguy/CompVis/Features/BlobDetect.m and I was wondering how to save the final blob detected image. The image that I am doing the blob detection on gets shown and then he manually draws the lines on the image here: Xbar = cx1+X.*cos(alpha)+Y.*sin(alpha); Ybar = cy1+Y.*cos(alpha)-X.*sin(alpha); line(Xbar', Ybar', 'Color', color, 'LineWidth', ln_wid); I then want to save this image using something like imwrite.   • When an active_record is saved, is it saved before or after its associated object(s)?

    In rails, when saving an active_record object, its associated objects will be saved as well. But has_one and has_many association have different order in saving objects. I have three simplified models: class Team < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :players has_one :coach end class Player < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :team validates_presence_of :team_id end class Coach < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :team validates_presence_of :team_id end I use the following code to test these models: t = Team.new team.coach = Coach.new team.save! team.save! returns true. But in another test: t = Team.new team.players << Player.new team.save! team.save! gives the following error: > ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid: > Validation failed: Players is invalid I figured out that when team.save! is called, it first calls player.save!. player needs to validate the presence of the id of the associated team. But at the time player.save! is called, team hasn't been saved yet, and therefore, team_id doesn't yet exist for player. This fails the player's validation, so the error occurs. But on the other hand, team is saved before coach.save!, otherwise the first example will get the same error as the second one. So I've concluded that when a has_many bs, a.save! will save bs prior to a. When a has_one b, a.save! will save a prior to b. If I am right, why is this the case? It doesn't seem logical to me. Why do has_one and has_many association have different order in saving? Any ideas? And is there any way I can change the order? Say I want to have the same saving order for both has_one and has_many. But if I remove the @Transactional(readOnly = false) on doDelete method deletion stops working, Saving works with and without the method annotation. So my question is: WHY?

    I've already mapped the necessary files to the local resource - however, while that does allow me to save any changes made to a file in the Sources panel, I was wondering if it's possible to automatically save changes to CSS made in the Elements panel. Otherwise at the moment, any changes made to the style in the Elements panel seem to exist only there. I remember at some point there used to be a little indicator of the file and line number next to a class/id etc. in the Styles tab of the Elements panel - surely it can't be that hard to simply 'update' any changes to that style rule considering Chrome knows exactly where it's coming from (in the case that it's a stylesheet and not an inline style?). It would be a great relief to my workflow. The answers to this similar question are obsolete.

    I have a CentOS-running server and I want to add ssh authentication for my laptop and desktop-computers. Both PCs are running Ubuntu. I managed to get it work with one computer. I added id_rsa.pub to my /home/$USER/.ssh/autheticated_keys-file. Then I disabled password protection so I can log in only if I have that ssh key on my computer. I tried to add that second id_rsa.pub-key to that authenticated_keys-file on my server, but it didn't work. Like this: cat id_rsa.pub >> /home/$USER/.ssh/authenticated_keys Is this the right way to do this? Or how to save two different public ssh keys on a server? (...and on a single user account)

    Hello, I have a form which asks the user his or her date of birth. Its a drop down box since I use the select input type. The first drop down has Months, second has Days, the third has the Years. So the format should be Month(October), Day(25), Year(1990). In other words the months spell out the actual month and not simply the number representation of the month. However, I would like to save the Day and Year in their respective formats. How can I do this in phpMyAdmin? Should I use the DATE type? what should the value be? I just need to know how to correlate all of this in phpmyadmin, so I can save it properly. Thank you.

  • PowerPoint save group as picture creates asymmetric edge, how to fix?

    I created tons of figures for my thesis in PowerPoint and now I realized that when I try to save the grouped items (= one figure) as a picture (EMF), it somehow asymmetrically adds a border on the left and the bottom. First one is original group, second is the same pasted as a picture. Original group: Pasted as a picture: Does anyone have an idea how to fix that for a huge number of figures? I think it only started happening when I used a page size of 1m x 1m in PowerPoint to be able to zoom in more for some figures. However, I cannot not simply change the page size now as it messes up font and object sizes. Also, copying it into a smaller page and then saving as EMF doesn't do the trick. Maybe it is not related to the page size after all. Cropping every figure individually would be a lot of work, so I hope there is a different solution. I found the origin of the problem: the text label in the left bottom corner of each image (0s, 8s, 16s). I still do not understand why it is happening though, since the text label does not expand over the edge of the image (it was aligned using the align left function). It would still be great if there was an easy way to fix this, especially as I want to keep the text where it is.

  • Is this way the best solution to read and save images from Rss Feeds?

    Hi, I've build a "RSS Feed Reader" module to my application, and for every post with images in the content, I get the first that matches a specific size and then I save for future use as reference to the posts. When processing, everything works properly except when more then 10 images are saved at the same time (This value is variable). I got an 404 error after a while saving the images. Some images are saved, but not all of them. If I run the app in my local server, everything work as expected (using set_timeout(0) to avoid timeout errors). Currently my application is hosted at dreamhost and I'm using Zend Framework. I'm not sure if the problem is specif for Zend Framework applications, so I didn't put any tags about. I've had this problem another time with other projects hosted at dreamhost. They seems to limitate memory for operations like that.   • Emphasize Some Comments - but not Dirty the Code

    I'm having trouble structuring my comments at the moment. I have major sections of the code that, when scrolling through the document, I want to be able to see those stand out. Examples: This is a normal comment: int money = 100; //start out with 100 money - This is a comment to emphasize a certain part of the code: /****** Set up all the money ******/ But I don't like that this isn't very clean. Is there a standard way of setting up this type of a comment?

    What software do sites like www.shopzilla.com, www.become.com, www.kelkoo.com etc.. use for the Pay-Per-Click product listing campaigns they offer for their retailers. I am asking what kind of software do they use to know that a certain retailer's products has been clicked 50 times or 100 times(and then the cost of the click is deducted from his money-account) etc... Can someone point me to those kind of softwares? EDIT *Some Explanation :: * In a site like www.shopzilla.com, retailers will upload thier products(list their products on the site). Anytime a buyer clicks on a product to go the retailer's website, an amount of money(say $0.20) is deducted from his account(the money he has deposited in his account with shopzilla). A retailer can see how many times buyers have clicked on his products and how much money remains in his shopzilla accounts. Am looking for such softwares that comparison sites like shopzilla uses to run this type of campaigns. I hope it is clear now.

  • Adding nodes to MAAS server

    I was able to install MAAS server using ubuntu 12.04. Then boot up nodes from he PXE. Then installed maas-precise-x86-64-commissioning through pxe. Now the installation is done. but im unable to commission with the MAAS server. It does not show it as a node and neither im unable to add it manually and end up with following error. Also what is the default username password for maas-precise-x86-64-commissioning. Im unable to login. This error when adding node manually.   • How to record a "macro" that saves web pages as PDF in OSX

    I frequently save pages as PDF from Chrome on OSX. The page is apple-P then click the PDF button and the "Save as PDF.." menu item. I always use the pre-filled filename and save in the default directory. Is it possible to save this as an automator script? If that is possible I woulld sure like to add this as a button on Chrome somewhere so I can just "save this for reading later" Thanks for any help.

  • Cannot access Adsense funds after switching to third-party partnership program

    I had a Google Adsense partnership with $80 in it, but then switched to a different partnership and now can't get my money. When I first started YouTube, I joined the Adsense partnership program. After gaining $80 in my Adsense account, I got an offer to join a third party partnership program called Zoomin.tv. I accepted, and it is paying me monthly now. The problem is that my Adsense account still has the $80 in it, and is not gaining more cash. The Zoomin.tv money is going directly to my PayPal. The payment threshold in Adsense is $100, and you can't make it lower. Therefore, my money is stuck in Adsense and I'd love a solution that allows me to access my money.
