  • Physical storage of data in Access 2007

    - by ste
    I've been trying to estimate the size of an Access table with a certain number of records. It has 4 Longs (4 bytes each), and a Currency (8 bytes). In theory: 1 Record = 24 bytes, 500,000 = ~11.5MB However, the accdb file (even after compacting) increases by almost 30MB (~61 bytes per record). A few extra bytes for padding wouldn't be so bad, but 2.5X seems a bit excessive - even for Microsoft bloat. What's with the discrepancy? The four longs are compound keys, would that matter?

  • Using AWS S3 for photo storage

    - by Sam
    I'm going to be using S3 to store user uploaded photos. Obviously, I wont be serving the image files to user agents without resizing them down. However, not one size would do, as some thumbnails will be smaller than other larger previews. So, I was thinking of making a standard set of dimensions scaling from the lowest 16x16 to some highest 1024x1024. Is this a good way to solve this problem? What if I need a new size later on? How would you solve this?

  • C - Error with read() of a file, storage in an array, and printing output properly

    - by ns1
    I am new to C, so I am not exactly sure where my error is. However, I do know that the great portion of the issue lies either in how I am storing the doubles in the d_buffer (double) array or the way I am printing it. Specifically, my output keeps printing extremely large numbers (with around 10-12 digits before the decimal point and a trail of zeros after it. Additionally, this is an adaptation of an older program to allow for double inputs, so I only really added the two if statements (in the "read" for loop and the "printf" for loop) and the d_buffer declaration. I would appreciate any input whatsoever as I have spent several hours on this error. #include <stdio.h> #include <fcntl.h> #include <sys/types.h> #include <unistd.h> #include <string.h> struct DataDescription { char fieldname[30]; char fieldtype; int fieldsize; }; /* ----------------------------------------------- eof(fd): returns 1 if file `fd' is out of data ----------------------------------------------- */ int eof(int fd) { char c; if ( read(fd, &c, 1) != 1 ) return(1); else { lseek(fd, -1, SEEK_CUR); return(0); } } void main() { FILE *fp; /* Used to access meta data */ int fd; /* Used to access user data */ /* ---------------------------------------------------------------- Variables to hold the description of the data - max 10 fields ---------------------------------------------------------------- */ struct DataDescription DataDes[10]; /* Holds data descriptions for upto 10 fields */ int n_fields; /* Actual # fields */ /* ------------------------------------------------------ Variables to hold the data - max 10 fields.... ------------------------------------------------------ */ char c_buffer[10][100]; /* For character data */ int i_buffer[10]; /* For integer data */ double d_buffer[10]; int i, j; int found; printf("Program for searching a mini database:\n"); /* ============================= Read in meta information ============================= */ fp = fopen("db-description", "r"); n_fields = 0; while ( fscanf(fp, "%s %c %d", DataDes[n_fields].fieldname, &DataDes[n_fields].fieldtype, &DataDes[n_fields].fieldsize) > 0 ) n_fields++; /* --- Prints meta information --- */ printf("\nThe database consists of these fields:\n"); for (i = 0; i < n_fields; i++) printf("Index %d: Fieldname `%s',\ttype = %c,\tsize = %d\n", i, DataDes[i].fieldname, DataDes[i].fieldtype, DataDes[i].fieldsize); printf("\n\n"); /* --- Open database file --- */ fd = open("db-data", O_RDONLY); /* --- Print content of the database file --- */ printf("\nThe database content is:\n"); while ( ! eof(fd) ) { /* ------------------ Read next record ------------------ */ for (j = 0; j < n_fields; j++) { if ( DataDes[j].fieldtype == 'I' ) read(fd, &i_buffer[j], DataDes[j].fieldsize); if ( DataDes[j].fieldtype == 'F' ) read(fd, &d_buffer[j], DataDes[j].fieldsize); if ( DataDes[j].fieldtype == 'C' ) read(fd, &c_buffer[j], DataDes[j].fieldsize); } double d; /* ------------------ Print it... ------------------ */ for (j = 0; j < n_fields; j++) { if ( DataDes[j].fieldtype == 'I' ) printf("%d ", i_buffer[j]); if ( DataDes[j].fieldtype == 'F' ) d = d_buffer[j]; printf("%lf ", d); if ( DataDes[j].fieldtype == 'C' ) printf("%s ", c_buffer[j]); } printf("\n"); } printf("\n"); printf("\n"); } Post edits output: 16777216 0.000000 107245694331284094976.000000 107245694331284094976.000000 Pi 33554432 107245694331284094976.000000 2954938175610156848888276006519501238173891974277081114627768841840801736306392481516295906896346039950625609765296207682724801406770458881439696544971142710292689518104183685723154223544599940711614138798312668264956190761622328617992192.000000 2954938175610156848888276006519501238173891974277081114627768841840801736306392481516295906896346039950625609765296207682724801406770458881439696544971142710292689518104183685723154223544599940711614138798312668264956190761622328617992192.000000 Secret Key 50331648 2954938175610156848888276006519501238173891974277081114627768841840801736306392481516295906896346039950625609765296207682724801406770458881439696544971142710292689518104183685723154223544599940711614138798312668264956190761622328617992192.000000 -0.000000 -0.000000 The number E Expected Output: 3 rows of data ending with the number "e = 2.18281828" To reproduce the problem, the following two files need to be in the same directory as the lookup-data.c file: - db-data - db-description

  • Objects with inheritance memory storage

    - by nikitas350
    Say that i have some classes like this example. class A { int k, m; public: A(int a, int b) { k = a; m = b; } }; class B { int k, m; public: B() { k = 2; m = 3; } }; class C : private A, private B { int k, m; public: C(int a, int b) : A(a, b) { k = b; m = a; } }; Now, in a class C object, are the variables stored in a specific way? I know what happens in a POD object, but this is not a POD object...

  • Java reference storage question

    - by aab
    In java, when you pass an object to a method as a parameter, it is actually passing a reference, or a pointer, to that object because objects in Java are references. Inside the function, it has a pointer to that object which is a location in memory. I am wondering where this pointer lives in memory? Is a new memory location created once inside the function to hold this reference?

  • iOS AS3 AIR local storage

    - by Kere Puki
    I am developing an app which requires a SQL DB on the device. I am using the File.applicationStorageDirectory and folder.resolvePath to add a new DB. When debugging the app it all looks like it executes correctly and I am able to successfully create a new table. I haven't gone too far with inserting and reading records however I just wanted to ask, when I re-run the app does the existing DB file get replaced with a new empty one? If so do I need to check if the file exists etc. How can I look at the DB on the device (iOS at this stage)? Thanks

  • /etc/resolv.conf nameserver fd00::1

    - by user88631
    My /etc/resolv.conf constantly get a mysterious entry, i run a home network with ipv6 provided by ravd, the interface is auto-configured by Network manager (all name server lookups are lost when this line is first in my /etc/resolv.conf) . Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) **# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN** nameserver fd00::1 nameserver 192.168.1.1 search home.int When ping is working cat /etc/resolv.conf # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN nameserver 192.168.1.1 search home.int So something is putting fd00::1 at start of file, not if I ping6 fd00::1 I get Destination unreachable: Administratively prohibited To diagnose this I ran the router with single cable to connected to ubuntu machine. Ran tcpdump + restarted network on ubuntu. "tcpdump ip6 -e -i eth0 | grep fd00" finds nothing, it's not being advertised via the network.. The only hit I got was when an upstream router refused a connection attempt from the ubuntu machine to fd00::1. I have also switched on debug for network manager & it appears to set the mystery line.. 15:22:14 storage-pc NetworkManager[349]: <info> Activation (eth0) Stage 5 of 5 (IPv4 Commit) complete. 15:22:14 storage-pc NetworkManager[349]: <warn> dnsmasq exited with error: Other problem (5) 15:22:14 storage-pc NetworkManager[349]: <debug> [1346822534.281528] [nm-dns-manager.c:598] update_dns(): updating resolv.conf 15:22:14 storage-pc NetworkManager[349]: <debug> [1346822534.281875] [nm-dns-manager.c:719] update_dns(): DNS: plugin dnsmasq ignored (caching disabled) 15:22:14 storage-pc NetworkManager[349]: <info> ((null)): writing resolv.conf to /sbin/resolvconf 15:22:14 storage-pc dbus[2184]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.freedesktop.nm_dispatcher' 15:22:14 storage-pc dnsmasq[2875]: reading /etc/resolv.conf 15:22:14 storage-pc dnsmasq[2875]: using nameserver 192.168.1.1#53 15:22:14 storage-pc dnsmasq[2875]: using nameserver fd00::1#53 Any suggestions on how to find out where this comes from?

  • Removed Java replaced with newest "Sun Java", disc won't boot, and won't let me re-install grub using boot repair disc

    - by Al Rowe
    Had a minor problem with my Stock market platform. Set-up screen would freeze program. Called their tech support, got their "Linux guy", who advised remove all Java and replace, not with synaptic version, but newest Sun Java. After removing, computer auto rebooted, and went to blue mem-test screen. Showed no errors, but couldn't get back in. Tried two versions of boot repair disc from iso (checked md5sum, showed good.), but fix aborted, giving apt-error detected. Opened a terminal and typed (or copy/paste): sudo chroot "/mnt/boot-sav/sda1" apt-get -f install. My system is Ubuntu 12.04. Had a few very minor issues from install, all fixed. Also added some of my favorite gnome tricks just to make life easier, but none that could have caused this. Added script to add shortcuts to desktop, open terminal in any menu from inside it, access root terminal, etc. System was firewalled and using avast antivirus (o.k., I'm paranoid. Used to do Windows sys-op and security.) But relative newbie to Linux.

  • How to auto-scan any plugged in usb storage device with clamav?

    - by ossi
    I'd like to do an automatic virus scan on any plugged in usb device using ClamAV. I'm using Ubuntu 12.04. The closest thing I found was: Run clamav on mount of flashdrive How to run a shell script when a new USB storage device is detected? The first one is not working for me and the second one seems to target a known device. Is there a tutorial around I've missed? Or can I get some help with udev rules that apply to any usb storage device added? Currently nothing seems to do anything.

  • Need to set up shared storage for Guest virtual machines that are running on a Xen host

    - by Sajith
    My environment: I am doing these things at home with the purpose of learning about virtualization techniques. My machine have quad core processor that supports Intel-VT and 8GB RAM. XEN is the virtualization platform. In short, all domUs are LVM based. Mainly I have two questions; I need to have shared storage for these VMs. Something like NFS / NAS / iSCSI etc. However, I don't know which one is the best solution. Therefore, can someone tell me which suits best? Please note that, this shared storage need to be accessed by the other physical machines in the network. How to implement the selected solution for question #1? Any tutorials / guidelines / ebooks will be a great help and highly appreciated. Thank you in advance :)

  • What's up with LDoms: Part 2 - Creating a first, simple guest

    - by Stefan Hinker
    Welcome back! In the first part, we discussed the basic concepts of LDoms and how to configure a simple control domain.  We saw how resources were put aside for guest systems and what infrastructure we need for them.  With that, we are now ready to create a first, very simple guest domain.  In this first example, we'll keep things very simple.  Later on, we'll have a detailed look at things like sizing, IO redundancy, other types of IO as well as security. For now,let's start with this very simple guest.  It'll have one core's worth of CPU, one crypto unit, 8GB of RAM, a single boot disk and one network port.  CPU and RAM are easy.  The network port we'll create by attaching a virtual network port to the vswitch we created in the primary domain.  This is very much like plugging a cable into a computer system on one end and a network switch on the other.  For the boot disk, we'll need two things: A physical piece of storage to hold the data - this is called the backend device in LDoms speak.  And then a mapping between that storage and the guest domain, giving it access to that virtual disk.  For this example, we'll use a ZFS volume for the backend.  We'll discuss what other options there are for this and how to chose the right one in a later article.  Here we go: root@sun # ldm create mars root@sun # ldm set-vcpu 8 mars root@sun # ldm set-mau 1 mars root@sun # ldm set-memory 8g mars root@sun # zfs create rpool/guests root@sun # zfs create -V 32g rpool/guests/mars.bootdisk root@sun # ldm add-vdsdev /dev/zvol/dsk/rpool/guests/mars.bootdisk \ mars.root@primary-vds root@sun # ldm add-vdisk root mars.root@primary-vds mars root@sun # ldm add-vnet net0 switch-primary mars That's all, mars is now ready to power on.  There are just three commands between us and the OK prompt of mars:  We have to "bind" the domain, start it and connect to its console.  Binding is the process where the hypervisor actually puts all the pieces that we've configured together.  If we made a mistake, binding is where we'll be told (starting in version 2.1, a lot of sanity checking has been put into the config commands themselves, but binding will catch everything else).  Once bound, we can start (and of course later stop) the domain, which will trigger the boot process of OBP.  By default, the domain will then try to boot right away.  If we don't want that, we can set "auto-boot?" to false.  Finally, we'll use telnet to connect to the console of our newly created guest.  The output of "ldm list" shows us what port has been assigned to mars.  By default, the console service only listens on the loopback interface, so using telnet is not a large security concern here. root@sun # ldm set-variable auto-boot\?=false mars root@sun # ldm bind mars root@sun # ldm start mars root@sun # ldm list NAME STATE FLAGS CONS VCPU MEMORY UTIL UPTIME primary active -n-cv- UART 8 7680M 0.5% 1d 4h 30m mars active -t---- 5000 8 8G 12% 1s root@sun # telnet localhost 5000 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. ~Connecting to console "mars" in group "mars" .... Press ~? for control options .. {0} ok banner SPARC T3-4, No Keyboard Copyright (c) 1998, 2011, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved. OpenBoot 4.33.1, 8192 MB memory available, Serial # 87203131. Ethernet address 0:21:28:24:1b:50, Host ID: 85241b50. {0} ok We're done, mars is ready to install Solaris, preferably using AI, of course ;-)  But before we do that, let's have a little look at the OBP environment to see how our virtual devices show up here: {0} ok printenv auto-boot? auto-boot? = false {0} ok printenv boot-device boot-device = disk net {0} ok devalias root /virtual-devices@100/channel-devices@200/disk@0 net0 /virtual-devices@100/channel-devices@200/network@0 net /virtual-devices@100/channel-devices@200/network@0 disk /virtual-devices@100/channel-devices@200/disk@0 virtual-console /virtual-devices/console@1 name aliases We can see that setting the OBP variable "auto-boot?" to false with the ldm command worked.  Of course, we'd normally set this to "true" to allow Solaris to boot right away once the LDom guest is started.  The setting for "boot-device" is the default "disk net", which means OBP would try to boot off the devices pointed to by the aliases "disk" and "net" in that order, which usually means "disk" once Solaris is installed on the disk image.  The actual devices these aliases point to are shown with the command "devalias".  Here, we have one line for both "disk" and "net".  The device paths speak for themselves.  Note that each of these devices has a second alias: "net0" for the network device and "root" for the disk device.  These are the very same names we've given these devices in the control domain with the commands "ldm add-vnet" and "ldm add-vdisk".  Remember this, as it is very useful once you have several dozen disk devices... To wrap this up, in this part we've created a simple guest domain, complete with CPU, memory, boot disk and network connectivity.  This should be enough to get you going.  I will cover all the more advanced features and a little more theoretical background in several follow-on articles.  For some background reading, I'd recommend the following links: LDoms 2.2 Admin Guide: Setting up Guest Domains Virtual Console Server: vntsd manpage - This includes the control sequences and commands available to control the console session. • Error mounting CloudDrive snapshot in Azure

    - by Dave
    Hi, I've been running a cloud drive snapshot in dev for a while now with no probs. I'm now trying to get this working in Azure. I can't for the life of me get it to work. This is my latest error: Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Storage.CloudDriveException: Unknown Error HRESULT=D000000D ---> Microsoft.Window.CloudDrive.Interop.InteropCloudDriveException: Exception of type 'Microsoft.WindowsAzure.CloudDrive.Interop.InteropCloudDriveException' was thrown. at ThrowIfFailed(UInt32 hr) at Microsoft.WindowsAzure.CloudDrive.Interop.InteropCloudDrive.Mount(String url, SignatureCallBack sign, String mount, Int32 cacheSize, UInt32 flags) at Microsoft.WindowsAzure.StorageClient.CloudDrive.Mount(Int32 cacheSize, DriveMountOptions options) Any idea what is causing this? I'm running both the WorkerRole and Storage in Azure so it's nothing to do with the dev simulation environment disconnect. This is my code to mount the snapshot: CloudDrive.InitializeCache(localPath.TrimEnd('\\'), size); var container = _blobStorage.GetContainerReference(containerName); var blob = container.GetPageBlobReference(driveName); CloudDrive cloudDrive = _cloudStorageAccount.CreateCloudDrive(blob.Uri.AbsoluteUri); string snapshotUri; try { snapshotUri = cloudDrive.Snapshot().AbsoluteUri; Log.Info("CloudDrive Snapshot = '{0}'", snapshotUri); } catch (Exception ex) { throw new InvalidCloudDriveException(string.Format( "An exception has been thrown trying to create the CloudDrive '{0}'. This may be because it doesn't exist.", cloudDrive.Uri.AbsoluteUri), ex); } cloudDrive = _cloudStorageAccount.CreateCloudDrive(snapshotUri); Log.Info("CloudDrive created: {0}", snapshotUri, cloudDrive); string driveLetter = cloudDrive.Mount(size, DriveMountOptions.None); The .Mount() method at the end is what's now failing. Please help as this has me royally stumped! Thanks in advance. Dave

  • javascript toolkit for offline webapps

    - by anjanb
    hi all, we're building an survey webapp which will let the user to add new records to the survey when offline and will upload when the browser reconnects with the server. We've identified that this will need offline storage and hence google gears seems to be an obvious choice (we understand that adobe Flash has Offline Storage but not sure if that is the best way). I am aware of Dojo offline javascript toolkit which uses google gears for the underlying functionality. However, dojo offline is not part of the dojo toolkit after version 1.3. (currently dojo is 1.4.2). Google gears toolkit is currently frozen except for critical vulnerability fixes (it has not been updated almost for the last 1 yr) because they think that HTML 5 is the way to go ahead. Hence, we're looking for a higher abstraction on top of Google Gears engine TODAY, AND which will (in the future) switch the underlying engine to HTML5 if the browser supports HTML5 standards. We'd love to use Dojo but they have discontinued Dojo offline -- we'd prefer something that will be maintained for some time. Which are possible good strategies, JS toolkits/libraries to use for building this webapp ? Pls. advise.

  • Weird certificate error when trying to generate web service client from secure site

    - by Vlad
    Dear stack overflow. I get a weird error when trying to use AXIS1.4 Wsdl2Java tool to generate client code for the web service that is installed on the secure IIS site. When I run the tool I get the following SSL exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: java.security.cert.CertificateException: No name matching XXXXXXX.net found at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Alerts.getSSLException(Alerts.java:174) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.fatal(SSLSocketImpl.java:1 591) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Handshaker.fatalSE(Handshaker.java:187) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Handshaker.fatalSE(Handshaker.java:181) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.ClientHandshaker.serverCertificate(Clien tHandshaker.java:975) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.ClientHandshaker.processMessage(ClientHa ndshaker.java:123) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Handshaker.processLoop(Handshaker.java:5 16) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.Handshaker.process_record(Handshaker.jav a:454) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.readRecord(SSLSocketImpl.j ava:884) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.performInitialHandshake(SS LSocketImpl.java:1096) at com.sun.net.ssl.internal.ssl.SSLSocketImpl.startHandshake(SSLSocketIm pl.java:1123) Weird thing is that this error only occurs when I run WSDL2Java, and only for this particular server. I have another web server with the identical set-up and everything works fine there. I triple checked all the keystores and it looks like all the CA certificates are loaded correctly. I tried using another server with the identical setup, and was able to generate the client proxy code without any problems. Weird thing is that if I use the code generated from the other server against the weird server everything works fine. It is only Wsdl2Java that is giving me a problem.

  • exception message getting lost in IIOP between glassfish domains

    - by Michael Borgwardt
    I'm running two glassfish v2 domains containing stateless session EJBs. In a few cases, an EJB in one domain has to call one in the other. My problem is that when the called EJB aborts with an exception, the caller does not receive the message of the exception and instead reports an internal error that is not helpful at all in diagnosing the problem. What happens seems to be this: At the transport layer, a org.omg.CORBA.portable.ApplicationException is created,which already loses all detail information about the exception except its class. Inside com.sun.jts.CosTransactions.TopCoordinator.get_txcontext(), the status of the transaction ass rolled back causes a org.omg.CosTransactions.Unavailable to be thrown, which gets wrapped and passed around a few times and eventually results into this error being displayed to the user: org.omg.CORBA.INVALID_TRANSACTION: vmcid: 0x0 minor code: 0 completed: No at com.sun.jts.CosTransactions.CurrentTransaction.sendingRequest(CurrentTransaction.java:807) at com.sun.jts.CosTransactions.SenderReceiver.sending_request(SenderReceiver.java:139) at com.sun.jts.pi.InterceptorImpl.send_request(InterceptorImpl.java:344) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.interceptors.InterceptorInvoker.invokeClientInterceptorStartingPoint(InterceptorInvoker.java:271) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.interceptors.PIHandlerImpl.invokeClientPIStartingPoint(PIHandlerImpl.java:348) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.protocol.CorbaClientRequestDispatcherImpl.beginRequest(CorbaClientRequestDispatcherImpl.java:284) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.protocol.CorbaClientDelegateImpl.request(CorbaClientDelegateImpl.java:184) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.StubInvocationHandlerImpl.privateInvoke(StubInvocationHandlerImpl.java:186) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.StubInvocationHandlerImpl.invoke(StubInvocationHandlerImpl.java:152) at com.sun.corba.ee.impl.presentation.rmi.bcel.BCELStubBase.invoke(BCELStubBase.java:225) Is there anything I can do here to preserve information about the actual cause of the problem?

I'm guessing it might have to do with all the stuff I've added today a folder of .pdf and .tex files (in war/web-inf directory) a bit of JDO stuff and a servlet that reads the files in the directory and indexes them into the JDO Is there any way to find out what exactly is the problem? I currently get stuck at "Initiating update" and the stack trace say "ConnectionReset" Any helkp of imput will be appreciated, I really need to deploy this today, thanks! here's the deploy trace: Unable to update: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance0(Native Method) at sun.reflect.NativeConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source) at sun.reflect.DelegatingConstructorAccessorImpl.newInstance(Unknown Source) at java.lang.reflect.Constructor.newInstance(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection$6.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getChainedException(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) at java.net.HttpURLConnection.getResponseCode(Unknown Source) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.ServerConnection.getAuthCookie(ServerConnection.java:315) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.ServerConnection.authenticate(ServerConnection.java:219) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.ServerConnection.send(ServerConnection.java:145) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.ServerConnection.post(ServerConnection.java:81) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.AppVersionUpload.send(AppVersionUpload.java:427) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.AppVersionUpload.beginTransaction(AppVersionUpload.java:241) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.AppVersionUpload.doUpload(AppVersionUpload.java:98) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.AppAdminImpl.update(AppAdminImpl.java:56) at com.google.appengine.eclipse.core.proxy.AppEngineBridgeImpl.deploy(AppEngineBridgeImpl.java:271) at com.google.appengine.eclipse.core.deploy.DeployProjectJob.runInWorkspace(DeployProjectJob.java:148) at org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.InternalWorkspaceJob.run(InternalWorkspaceJob.java:38) at org.eclipse.core.internal.jobs.Worker.run(Worker.java:55) Caused by: java.net.SocketException: Connection reset at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.fill(Unknown Source) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read1(Unknown Source) at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.parseHTTPHeader(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.parseHTTP(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.parseHTTP(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getHeaderFieldKey(Unknown Source) at com.google.appengine.tools.util.ClientCookieManager.readCookies(ClientCookieManager.java:123) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.ServerConnection.connect(ServerConnection.java:340) at com.google.appengine.tools.admin.ServerConnection.getAuthCookie(ServerConnection.java:314) ... 11 more

  • Injecting jms resource in servlet & best practice for MDB

    - by kislo_metal
    using ejb 3.1, servlet 3.0 (glassfish server v3) Scenario: I have MDB that listen to jms messages and give processing to some other session bean (Stateless). Servelet injecting jms resource. Question 1: Why servlet can`t inject jms resources when they use static declaration ? @Resource(mappedName = "jms/Tarturus") private static ConnectionFactory connectionFactory; @Resource(mappedName = "jms/StyxMDB") private static Queue queue; private Connection connection; and @PostConstruct public void postConstruct() { try { connection = connectionFactory.createConnection(); } catch (JMSException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } @PreDestroy public void preDestroy() { try { connection.close(); } catch (JMSException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } The error that I get is : [#|2010-05-03T15:18:17.118+0300|WARNING|glassfish3.0|javax.enterprise.system.container.web.com.sun.enterprise.web|_ThreadID=35;_ThreadName=Thread-1;|StandardWrapperValve[WorkerServlet]: PWC1382: Allocate exception for servlet WorkerServlet com.sun.enterprise.container.common.spi.util.InjectionException: Error creating managed object for class ua.co.rufous.server.services.WorkerServiceImpl at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl.createManagedObject(InjectionManagerImpl.java:312) at com.sun.enterprise.web.WebContainer.createServletInstance(WebContainer.java:709) at com.sun.enterprise.web.WebModule.createServletInstance(WebModule.java:1937) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapper.loadServlet(StandardWrapper.java:1252) Caused by: com.sun.enterprise.container.common.spi.util.InjectionException: Exception attempting to inject Unresolved Message-Destination-Ref ua.co.rufous.server.services.WorkerServiceImpl/[email protected]@null into class ua.co.rufous.server.services.WorkerServiceImpl at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl._inject(InjectionManagerImpl.java:614) at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl.inject(InjectionManagerImpl.java:384) at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl.injectInstance(InjectionManagerImpl.java:141) at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl.injectInstance(InjectionManagerImpl.java:127) at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl.createManagedObject(InjectionManagerImpl.java:306) ... 27 more Caused by: com.sun.enterprise.container.common.spi.util.InjectionException: Illegal use of static field private static javax.jms.Queue ua.co.rufous.server.services.WorkerServiceImpl.queue on class that only supports instance-based injection at com.sun.enterprise.container.common.impl.util.InjectionManagerImpl._inject(InjectionManagerImpl.java:532) ... 31 more |#] my MDB : /** * asadmin commands * asadmin create-jms-resource --restype javax.jms.ConnectionFactory jms/Tarturus * asadmin create-jms-resource --restype javax.jms.Queue jms/StyxMDB * asadmin list-jms-resources */ @MessageDriven(mappedName = "jms/StyxMDB", activationConfig = { @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "connectionFactoryJndiName", propertyValue = "jms/Tarturus"), @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "acknowledgeMode", propertyValue = "Auto-acknowledge"), @ActivationConfigProperty(propertyName = "destinationType", propertyValue = "javax.jms.Queue") }) public class StyxMDB implements MessageListener { @EJB private ActivationProcessingLocal aProcessing; public StyxMDB() { } public void onMessage(Message message) { try { TextMessage msg = (TextMessage) message; String hash = msg.getText(); GluttonyLogger.getInstance().writeInfoLog("geted jms message hash = " + hash); } catch (JMSException e) { } } } everything work good without static declaration: @Resource(mappedName = "jms/Tarturus") private ConnectionFactory connectionFactory; @Resource(mappedName = "jms/StyxMDB") private Queue queue; private Connection connection; Question 2: what is the best practice for working with MDB : processing full request in onMessage() or calling another bean(Stateless bean in my case) in onMessage() method that would process it. Processing including few calls to soap services, so the full processing time could be for a 3 seconds. Thank you.

  • SAXException: bad envelope tag

    - by David Guzman
    I'm trying to connect to a webservice https protected through a webservice client. Eclipse generated a stub based webservice client and looks nice to me. The problem comes when I try to call a method from the webservice: String a = (String)webservice.userProfileServices(xml); I'm also using the following SOAP headers: esgGatewayPort = (new EsgGatewayLocator()).getesgGatewayPort(); //setting the authentication header PrefixedQName name = new PrefixedQName("http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2002/07/secext","Security","wsse"); System.out.println("Setting headers for authentication"); org.apache.axis.message.SOAPHeaderElement sh = new org.apache.axis.message.SOAPHeaderElement(name); SOAPElement sub; try { String clntUserName="myUser"; String clntPassword="myPassword"; sub = sh.addChildElement("UsernameToken"); SOAPElement element = sub.addChildElement("Username"); element.addTextNode(clntUserName); element = sub.addChildElement("Password"); element.addTextNode(clntPassword); ((org.apache.axis.client.Stub) esgGatewayPort).setHeader(sh); } catch (SOAPException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } I receive the following: AxisFault faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Server.userException faultSubcode: faultString: org.xml.sax.SAXException: Bad envelope tag: HTML faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}stackTrace:org.xml.sax.SAXException: Bad envelope tag: HTML at org.apache.axis.message.EnvelopeBuilder.startElement(EnvelopeBuilder.java:71) at org.apache.axis.encoding.DeserializationContext.startElement(DeserializationContext.java:1048) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.startElement(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLNSDocumentScannerImpl.scanStartElement(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLNSDocumentScannerImpl$NSContentDriver.scanRootElementHook(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl$FragmentContentDriver.next(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentScannerImpl$PrologDriver.next(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentScannerImpl.next(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLNSDocumentScannerImpl.next(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.XMLDocumentFragmentScannerImpl.scanDocument(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.XML11Configuration.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.XMLParser.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.parsers.AbstractSAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.jaxp.SAXParserImpl$JAXPSAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at weblogic.xml.jaxp.WebLogicXMLReader.parse(WebLogicXMLReader.java:133) at weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryXMLReader.parse(RegistryXMLReader.java:153) at javax.xml.parsers.SAXParser.parse(Unknown Source) at org.apache.axis.encoding.DeserializationContext.parse(DeserializationContext.java:227) at org.apache.axis.SOAPPart.getAsSOAPEnvelope(SOAPPart.java:696) at org.apache.axis.Message.getSOAPEnvelope(Message.java:435) at org.apache.axis.transport.http.HTTPSender.readFromSocket(HTTPSender.java:796) at org.apache.axis.transport.http.HTTPSender.invoke(HTTPSender.java:144) at org.apache.axis.strategies.InvocationStrategy.visit(InvocationStrategy.java:32) at org.apache.axis.SimpleChain.doVisiting(SimpleChain.java:118) at org.apache.axis.SimpleChain.invoke(SimpleChain.java:83) at org.apache.axis.client.AxisClient.invoke(AxisClient.java:165) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invokeEngine(Call.java:2784) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:2767) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:2443) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:2366) at org.apache.axis.client.Call.invoke(Call.java:1812) Any help will be truly appreciated David

  • MySql, InnoDB & Null Values

    - by pws5068
    Formerly I was using MyISAM storage engine for MySql and I had defined the combination of three fields to be unique. Now I have switched to InnoDB, which I assume caused this problem, and now NULL != NULL. So for the following table: ID (Auto) | Field_A | Field_B | Field_C I can insert (Field_A,Field_B,Field_C) Values(1,2,NULL) (1,2,NULL) (1,2,NULL) infinitely many times. How can I prevent this behavior?

I did have a read of this article and its follow-up, but so far I've had trouble determining how to go about adding the interceptor code without the use of Spring (this is for a JUnit test). How might I go about authenticating against this Web service?
