  • NUL symbol gets inserted anywhere in the XML

    - by Racs
    I am using Oracle 11g and when I query data from database manually, it looks ok. But when I view it using Notepad++, there is a special character that gets inserted anywhere in the xml produced. Please see image below: I tried everything and deleted some parts of the xml, updated the db and query again but the invalid character just differ in location. Any idea is much appreciated, thanks! Best regards, Racs

  • Replacing XML in File from "Document" in Java

    - by poeschlorn
    Hi, after processing my first steps in working with XML in java I am now at the point where I want to update some data in my XML/GPX file... Reaplacing it in my "Document" data type works great :) How here comes the question: how can I store the changed "document"-model back to my file? Do I have to do this by using the standart file-functions (via steams and so on) oder is the a more elegant way to do this? ;-) Here's the code I already worked out, maybe that could help. (the method getParsedXML is just puting the conversion from the file into an extra method) Document tmpDoc = getParsedXML(currentGPX); //XML Parsind tests: // Access to tag attribute <tag attribut="bla"> System.out.println(tmpDoc.getElementsByTagName("wpt").item(0).getAttributes().getNamedItem("lat").getTextContent()); // Access to the value of an child element <a><CHILD>ValueOfChild</CHILD></a> System.out.println(tmpDoc.getElementsByTagName("wpt").item(0).getChildNodes().item(5).getTextContent()); // Replacing access to tag attribute tmpDoc.getElementsByTagName("wpt").item(0).getAttributes().getNamedItem("lat").setTextContent("139.921055008"); System.out.println(tmpDoc.getElementsByTagName("wpt").item(0).getAttributes().getNamedItem("lat").getTextContent()); // Replacing access to child element value tmpDoc.getElementsByTagName("wpt").item(0).getChildNodes().item(5).setTextContent("Cala Sant Vicenç - Mallorca 2"); System.out.println(tmpDoc.getElementsByTagName("wpt").item(0).getChildNodes().item(5).getTextContent());

  • Xml failing to deserialise

    - by Carnotaurus
    I call a method to get my pages [see GetPages(String xmlFullFilePath)]. The FromXElement method is supposed to deserialise the LitePropertyData elements to strongly type LitePropertyData objects. Instead it fails on the following line: return (T)xmlSerializer.Deserialize(memoryStream); and gives the following error: <LitePropertyData xmlns=''> was not expected. What am I doing wrong? I have included the methods that I call and the xml data: public static T FromXElement<T>(this XElement xElement) { using (var memoryStream = new MemoryStream(Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(xElement.ToString()))) { var xmlSerializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(T)); return (T)xmlSerializer.Deserialize(memoryStream); } } public static List<LitePageData> GetPages(String xmlFullFilePath) { XDocument document = XDocument.Load(xmlFullFilePath); List<LitePageData> results = (from record in document.Descendants("row") select new LitePageData { Guid = IsValid(record, "Guid") ? record.Element("Guid").Value : null, ParentID = IsValid(record, "ParentID") ? Convert.ToInt32(record.Element("ParentID").Value) : (Int32?)null, Created = Convert.ToDateTime(record.Element("Created").Value), Changed = Convert.ToDateTime(record.Element("Changed").Value), Name = record.Element("Name").Value, ID = Convert.ToInt32(record.Element("ID").Value), LitePageTypeID = IsValid(record, "ParentID") ? Convert.ToInt32(record.Element("ParentID").Value) : (Int32?)null, Html = record.Element("Html").Value, FriendlyName = record.Element("FriendlyName").Value, Properties = record.Element("Properties") != null ? record.Element("Properties").Element("LitePropertyData").FromXElement<List<LitePropertyData>>() : new List<LitePropertyData>() }).ToList(); return results; } Here is the xml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <root> <rows> <row> <ID>1</ID> <ImageUrl></ImageUrl> <Html>Home page</Html> <Created>01-01-2012</Created> <Changed>01-01-2012</Changed> <Name>Home page</Name> <FriendlyName>home-page</FriendlyName> </row> <row xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Guid>edeaf468-f490-4271-bf4d-be145bc6a1fd</Guid> <ID>8</ID> <Name>Unused</Name> <ParentID>1</ParentID> <Created>2006-03-25T10:57:17</Created> <Changed>2012-07-17T12:24:30.0984747+01:00</Changed> <ChangedBy /> <LitePageTypeID xsi:nil="true" /> <Html> What is the purpose of this option? I tested a few of the webpages that I have designed. Sure enough, my pages fall short and for good reason. I am not about to claim that Bobby and Cynthia are useless. Although it is useful and commendable tool, it project appears to be overly ambitious. Nevertheless, let me explain my issues with Bobby and Cynthia: First, certain W3C standards for designing web documents are often too strict and unworkable. For instance, in some versions W3C standards for HTML, certain tags should not include a particular attribute, whereas in others they are requisite if the document is to be ???well-formed???. The standard that a designer chooses is determined usually by the requirements specification document. This specifies which browsers and versions of those browsers that the web page is expected to correctly display. Forcing a hypertext document to conform strictly to a specific W3C standard for HTML is often no simple task. In the worst case, it cannot conform without losing some aesthetics or accessibility functionality. Second, the case of HTML documents is not an isolated case. Standards for XML, XSL, JavaScript, VBScript, are analogous. Therefore, you might imagine the problems when you begin to combine these languages and formats in an HTML document. Third, there is always more than one way to skin a cat. For example, Bobby and Cynthia may flag those IMG tags that do not contain a TITLE attribute. There might be good reason that a web developer chooses not to include the title attribute. The title attribute has a limited numbers of characters and does not support carriage returns. This is a major defect in the design of this tag. In fact, before the TITLE attribute was supported, there was the ALT attribute. Most browsers support both, yet they both perform a similar function. However, both attributes share the same deficiencies. In practice, there are instances where neither attribute would be used. Instead, for example, the developer would write some JavaScript or VBScript to circumvent these deficiencies. The concern is that Bobby and Cynthia would not notice this because it does not ???understand??? what the JavaScript does. </Html> <FriendlyName>unused</FriendlyName> <IsDeleted>false</IsDeleted> <Properties> <LitePropertyData> <Description>Image for the page</Description> <DisplayEditUI>true</DisplayEditUI> <OwnerTab>1</OwnerTab> <DisplayName>Image Url</DisplayName> <FieldOrder>1</FieldOrder> <IsRequired>false</IsRequired> <Name>ImageUrl</Name> <IsModified>false</IsModified> <ParentPageID>3</ParentPageID> <Type>String</Type> <Value xsi:type="xsd:string">smarter.jpg</Value> </LitePropertyData> <LitePropertyData> <Description>WebItemApplicationEnum</Description> <DisplayEditUI>true</DisplayEditUI> <OwnerTab>1</OwnerTab> <DisplayName>WebItemApplicationEnum</DisplayName> <FieldOrder>1</FieldOrder> <IsRequired>false</IsRequired> <Name>WebItemApplicationEnum</Name> <IsModified>false</IsModified> <ParentPageID>3</ParentPageID> <Type>Number</Type> <Value xsi:type="xsd:string">1</Value> </LitePropertyData> </Properties> <Seo> <Author>Phil Carney</Author> <Classification /> <Copyright>Carnotaurus</Copyright> <Description> What is the purpose of this option? • User jQuery to get nested elements from XML

    - by Dkong
    I'm spinning my wheels on this. How do I get the values from the following nested elements from the XML below (I've also put my code below)? I am after the "descShort" value and then the capital "Last" and capital "change" : <indices> <index> <code>DJI</code> <exchange>NYSE</exchange> <liveness>DELAYED</liveness> <indexDesc> <desc>Dow Jones Industrials</desc> <descAbbrev>DOW JONES</descAbbrev> <descShort>DOW JONES</descShort> <firstActive></firstActive> <lastActive></lastActive> </indexDesc> <indexQuote> <capital> <first>11144.57</first> <high>11153.79</high> <low>10973.92</low> <last>11018.66</last> <change>-125.9</change> <pctChange>-1.1%</pctChange> </capital> <gross> <first>11144.57</first> <high>11153.79</high> <low>10973.92</low> <last>11018.66</last> <change>-125.9</change> <pctChange>-1.1%</pctChange> </gross> <totalEvents>4</totalEvents> <lastChanged>16-Apr-2010 16:03:00</lastChanged> </indexQuote> </index> <index> <code>XAO</code> <exchange>ASX</exchange> <liveness>DELAYED</liveness> <indexDesc> <desc>ASX All Ordinaries</desc> <descAbbrev>All Ordinaries</descAbbrev> <descShort>ALL ORDS</descShort> <firstActive>06-Mar-1970</firstActive> <lastActive></lastActive> </indexDesc> <indexQuote> <capital> <first>5007.30</first> <high>5007.30</high> <low>4934.00</low> <last>4939.40</last> <change>-67.9</change> <pctChange>-1.4%</pctChange> </capital> <gross> <first>5007.30</first> <high>5007.30</high> <low>4934.00</low> <last>4939.40</last> <change>-67.9</change> <pctChange>-1.4%</pctChange> </gross> <totalEvents>997</totalEvents> <lastChanged>19-Apr-2010 17:02:54</lastChanged> </indexQuote> </index> $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: "stockindices.xml", dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { $(xml).find('index').each(function(){ var self = $(this); var code = self.find('indexDesc'); $(code).find('indexDesc').each(function(){ alert(self.find('descShort').text()); }); $('<span class=\"tickerItem\"></span>').html(values[0].text()).appendTo('#marq'); }); } });

    When I use find command on shell, I got the following error. find: File system loop detected; /var/named/chroot/var/named' is part of the same file system loop as/var/named'. I verified the inode number and it comes out the same as below. It is minimal CentOS6.3 install with plesk 11. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Trouble with ITextSharp - Converting XML to PDF

    - by AllenG
    Okay... I'm trying to use the most recent version of ITextSharp to turn an XML file into a PDF. It isn't working. The documentation on SourceForge doesn't seem to have kept up with the actual releases; the code in the provided example won't even compile under the newest version. Here is my test XML: <Remittance> <RemitHeader> <Payer>BlueCross</Payer> <Provider>Maricopa</Provider> <CheckDate>20100329</CheckDate> <CheckNumber>123456789</CheckNumber> </RemitHeader> <RemitDetail> <NPI>NPI_GOES_HERE</NPI> <Patient>Patient Name</Patient> <PCN>0034567</PCN> <DateOfService>20100315</DateOfService> <TotalCharge>125.57</TotalCharge> <TotalPaid>55.75</TotalPaid> <PatientShare>35</PatientShare> </RemitDetail> </Remittance> And here is the code I'm attempting to use to turn that into a PDF. Document doc = new Document(PageSize.LETTER, 36, 36, 36, 36); iTextSharp.text.pdf.PdfWriter.GetInstance(doc, new StreamWriter(fileOutputPath).BaseStream); doc.Open(); SimpleXMLParser.Parse((ISimpleXMLDocHandler)doc, new StreamReader(fileInputPath).BaseStream); doc.Close(); Now, I was pretty sure the (ISimpleXMLDocHandler)doc piece wasn't going to work, but I can't actually find anything in the source that both a) implements ISimleXMLDocHandler and b) will accept a standard XML document and parse it to PDF. FYI- I did try an older version which would compile using the example code from sourceforge, but it wasn't working either.

  • Using IIS Application Request Routing (ARR) for ASP.NET MVC

    - by Malcolm Frexner
    I use a simple ASP.NET MVC web (the template you use when you create a new site) and the web works as expected in my live environment. I now try to use IIS Application Request Routing version 2. I have a rule that send all reuqests to a different server that match a rule. The settings are a bit like this: http://blogs.iis.net/wonyoo/archive/2008/07/09/application-request-routing-arr-as-a-reverse-proxy.aspx My rule is just a bit different it is /shop(.*). Only requests that contain shop are send to a different server. I have to use rewrite, not redirect (The same as in the Picture) This works as long as the web the original requests go to is no ASP.NET MVC web. I tried to use a plain htm file in the webfolder and it worked. If put a compiled ASP.NET application into the webfolder it worked. But as soon as I put an ASP.NET MVC web into the folder, request arr served by this application. My understanding is that the ARR should kick in before the web application gets the chance to handle the request. Did anybody use ARR sucessfully as a reverse proxy for a ASP.NET MVC web? EDIT Here is the resulting web config when the rewrite roule is entered. With this rule I get a 404 that indicates that the rule is not used. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <configuration> <configSections> <sectionGroup name="system.web.extensions" type="System.Web.Configuration.SystemWebExtensionsSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"> <sectionGroup name="scripting" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"> <section name="scriptResourceHandler" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingScriptResourceHandlerSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> <sectionGroup name="webServices" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingWebServicesSectionGroup, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"> <section name="jsonSerialization" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingJsonSerializationSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="Everywhere" /> <section name="profileService" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingProfileServiceSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> <section name="authenticationService" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingAuthenticationServiceSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> <section name="roleService" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingRoleServiceSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication" /> </sectionGroup> </sectionGroup> </sectionGroup> </configSections> <appSettings /> <connectionStrings> <add name="ApplicationServices" connectionString="data source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Integrated Security=SSPI;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|aspnetdb.mdf;User Instance=true" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /> </connectionStrings> <system.web> <!-- Set compilation debug="true" to insert debugging symbols into the compiled page. • How to write an XML file without header in Python?

    - by Nico
    Hi, when using Python's stock XML tools such as xml.dom.minidom for XML writing, a file would always start off like <?xml version="1.0"?> [...] While this is perfectly legal XML code, and it's even recommended to use the header, I'd like to get rid of it as one of the programs I'm working with has problems here. I can't seem to find the appropriate option in xml.dom.minidom, so I wondered if there are other packages which do allow to neglect the header. Cheers, Nico

  • extracting RDL data using LINQ

    - by BobC
    I'm working with some SQL Report definition files (RDLs), using LINQ to extract component query statements for validation. I'm trying to extract the <DataSet> elements from under the <DataSets> element. I seem to be getting hung up with one of the elements under <DataSet><Fields><Field> which has a namespace qualifier <rd:TypeName> I've been using LINQ to XML for other parts of the files where there is no namespace qualifiers with no trouble, by specifying a default namespace. The RDL specifies two namespaces: xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2005/01/reportdefinition" xmlns:rd="http://schemas.microsoft.com/SQLServer/reporting/reportdesigner"> When I try to get the <DataSets> element, however, I get the following error: System.Xml.XmlException - The ':' character, hexadecimal value 0x3A, cannot be included in a name. I know it has to do with the namespace qualifier (rd:) in one of the child elements, but I'm having difficulty getting a LINQ expression that works. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Jquery and XML - How to add the value of nodes

    - by Matias
    Hi Experts, This may be a simple question though can´t figure out how to do it. I am parsing an XML with Jquery Ajax. It contains dates and rates The XML looks something like <rate> <date>Today</date> <price>66</price> </rate> <rate> <date>Tomorrow</date> <price>99</price> </rate> I simply want to figure out how to calculate the total price of both days Today and Tomorrow. Thought that by using Javascript Number it will simply return the total value of the nodes.. $(xml).find("rate").each(function() { $(this).find("price").each(function() { $("#TOTALPRICE").append(Number($(this).text())); } } //output is: 6699 However, it´s just concatenating the values both not adding them. //output is: 6699 I greatly appreciate your help !! Thanks

  • How to compile a schema that uses a DataSet (xs:schema)?

    - by Yaron Naveh
    I have created the simplest web service in c#: public void AddData(DataSet ds) The generated schema (Wsdl) looks like this: <s:schema xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> ... <s:element ref="s:schema" /> ... </s:schema> Note the schema does not contain any import/include elements. I am trying to load this schema to a c# System.Xml.XmlSchema and add it to System.Xml.XmlSchemaSet: var set = new XmlSchemaSet(); var fs = new FileStream(@"c:\temp\schema.xsd", FileMode.Open); var s = XmlSchema.Read(fs, null); set.Add(s); set.Compile(); The last line throws this exception: The 'http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema:schema' element is not declared. It kind of makes sense: The schema generated by .Net uses the "s:schema" type which is declared in a schema which is not imported. Why does .Net create a non valid schema? How to compile the schema anyway? Whay I did is download the schema in http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema and added it to the XmlSchemaSet also. This did not work since that online schema contains DTD definition. I had to manually remove it and now all works. Does this make sense or am I missing something?

  • Using [assembly: System.Runtime.CompilerServices.InternalsVisibleTo("System.Windows")] To expose Int

    - by Anthony
    Ok so I had a qustion awhile back regarding Silverlight 4 Data Binding with anonymous types, one of the answers was to use [assembly: System.Runtime.CompilerServices.InternalsVisibleTo("System.Windows")] in your AssemblyInfo.cs file. I tried this and it works! I know I'm making all my internal properties classes and methods visible to the System.Windows Assembley. But what kind of risk is this with the following in mind: The product is a hosted silverlight based web application, so it wont be distributed. Thanks in advance

  • I need to duplicate software packages installed on one HPUX system to a test system

    - by oneodd1
    I am very inexperienced with HPUX and need to duplicate a production server for a test environment. I have 11.11 on the prod server and have completed the base install on the test server. What I need is a way to add the installed packages from the prod server to the test server. Unfortunately I haven't the foggiest idea how to do this. I've thought of using ignite backup and restore but don't have matching tape types between the two. The other thought was using swlist to gather the installed packages and then going to the website to download and install on the test environment. Has anyone successfully done something like this? Pointers?

    Hi. Im trying the following code: <?php $workbook = "D:\b2\\test.XLS"; $sheet = "Sheet1"; #Instantiate the spreadsheet component. $ex = new COM("Excel.sheet") or Die ("Did not connect"); #Get the application name and version print "Application name:{$ex->Application->value}<BR>" ; print "Loaded version: {$ex->Application->version}<BR>"; #Open the workbook that we want to use. $wkb = $ex->application->Workbooks->Open($workbook) or Die ("Did not open"); #Create a copy of the workbook, so the original workbook will be preserved. $ex->Application->ActiveWorkbook->SaveAs("D:\b2\Ourtest.xml"); #$ex->Application->Visible = 1; #Uncomment to make Excel visible. #Optionally, save the modified workbook $ex->Application->ActiveWorkbook->SaveAs("D:\Ourtest.xml"); #Close all workbooks without questioning $ex->application->ActiveWorkbook->Close("False"); unset ($ex); ?> This actually works and creates the Ourtest.xml file. But im getting characters like: ÐÏࡱá þÿ þÿÿÿ I have tried with SaveAs("D:\Ourtest.pdf") and it says the file has been corrupted or incorrectly decoded. Can anyone help me please?Thanks

  • jquery selector logical AND?

    - by taber
    In jQuery I'm trying to select only mount nodes where a and b's text values are 64 and "test" accordingly. I'd also like to fallback to 32 if no 64 and "test" exist. What I'm seeing with the code below though, is that the 32 mount is being returned instead of the 64. The XML: <thingses <thing <a32</a <-- note, a here is 32 and not 64 -- <other...</other <mountsample 1</mount <btest</b </thing <thing <a64</a <other...</other <mountsample 2</mount <btest</b </thing <thing <a64</a <other...</other <mountsample 3</mount <bunrelated</b </thing <thing <a128</a <other...</other <mountsample 4</mount <bunrelated</b </thing </thingses And unfortunately I don't have control over the XML as it comes from somewhere else. What I'm doing now is: var ret_val = ''; $data.find('thingses thing').each(function(i, node) { var $node = $(node), found_node = $node.find('b:first:is(test), a:first:is(64)').end().find('mount:first').text(); if(found_node) { ret_val = found_node; return; } found_node = $node.find('b:first:is(test), a:first:is(32)').end().find('mount:first').text(); if(found_node) { ret_val = found_node; return; } ret_val = 'not found'; }); // expected result is "sample 2", but if sample 2's parent "thing" was missing, the result would be "sample 1" alert(ret_val); For my ":is" selector I'm using: if(jQuery){ jQuery.expr[":"].is = function(obj, index, meta, stack){ return (obj.textContent || obj.innerText || $(obj).text() || "").toLowerCase() == meta[3].toLowerCase(); }; } There has to be a better way than how I'm doing it. I wish I could replace the "," with "AND" or something. :) Any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

  • Add/remove xml tags using a bash script.

    - by sixtyfootersdude
    I have an xml file that I want to configure using a bash script. For example if I had this xml: <a> <b> <bb> <yyy> Bla </yyy> </bb> </b> <c> <cc> Something </cc> </c> <d> bla </d> </a> (confidential info removed) I would like to write a bash script that will remove section <b> (or comment it) but keep the rest of the xml intact. I am pretty new the the whole scripting thing. I was wondering if anyone could give me a hint as to what I should look into. I was thinking that sed could be used except sed is a line editor. I think it would be easy to remove the <b> tags however I am unsure if sed would be able to remove all the text between the <b> tags. I will also need to write a script to add back the deleted section.

  • ASP XML as Datasource error

    - by nekko
    Hello I am trying to use an XML as a datasource in ASP and then display it as a datagrid. The XML has the following format: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <people type="array"> <person> <id type="integer"></id> <first_name></first_name> <last_name></last_name> <title></title> <company></company> <tags> </tags> <locations> <location primary="false" label="work"> <email></email> <website></website> <phone></phone> <cell></cell> <fax></fax> <street_1/> <street_2/> <city/> <state/> <postal_code/> <country/> </location> </locations> <notes></notes> <created_at></created_at> <updated_at></updated_at> </person> </people> When I try to run the simple page I receive the following error Server Error in '/' Application. The data source for GridView with id 'GridView1' did not have any properties or attributes from which to generate columns. Ensure that your data source has content. Please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Problem with XStream Marshalling to return xml and json

    - by MiKu
    When i use new XStream().toXml(someObject); it returns following xml... <response> <status>SUCCESS</status> <isOwnershipVerified class="boolean">false</isOwnershipVerified> </response> and, when i use new XStream(new JsonHierarchicalStreamDriver()).toXml(someObject); it returns following json... {"response": { "status": "SUCCESS", "isOwnershipVerified": { "@class": "boolean""false"} }} Now, since i want to get rid of class attribute altogether (read it not to alias it with anything else, but to remove it) i use following code. XStream xStream = new XStream(); StringWriter writer = new StringWriter(); xStream.marshal(this, new PrettyPrintWriter(writer) { @Override public void addAttribute(final String key, final String value) { if (!key.equals("class")) { super.addAttribute(key, value); } } }); return writer.toString(); which gives follwing xml... <response> <status>SUCCESS</status> <isOwnershipVerified>false</isOwnershipVerified> </response> but, when i pass new JsonHierarchicalStreamDriver() while xStream object creation above, it does NOT return json. it returns the same xml shown above. What is wrong going on here? Thanks in advance...

  • Declraing namespace schema with prefix in XSD/XML

    - by user1493537
    I am new to XML and I have a couple of questions about prefix. I need to "add the root schema element and insert the declaration for the XML schema namespace using the xc prefix. Set the default namespace and target of the schema to the URI test.com/test1" I am doing: <xc:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns="http://test.com/test1" targetNamespace="http://test.com/test1"> </xc:schema> Is this correct? The next one is: "insert the root schema element, declaring the XML schema namespace with the xc prefix. Declare the library namespace using the lib prefix and the contributors namespace using the cont prefix. Set the default namespace and the schema target to URI test.com/test2" The library URI is http://test.com/library and contributor URI is test.com/contributor I am doing: <xc:schema xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:lib="http://test.com/library" xmlns:clist="http://test.com/contributor" targetNamespace="http://test.com/test2"> </xc:schema> Does this look right? I am confused with prefix and all. Thanks for the help.

  • Sum of XML duration elements in SQL2008

    - by Matt
    I have a XML column that holds information about my games. Here's a sample of the information looks like. <game xmlns="http://my.name.space" > <move> <player>PlayerA</player> <start movetype="Move">EE5</start> <end movetype="Move">DF6</end> <movetime>PT1S</movetime> </move> <move> <player>PlayerB</player> <start movetype="Move">CG7</start> <end movetype="Move">DE6</end> <movetime>PT3S</movetime> </move> <move> <player>PlayerA</player> <start movetype="Move">FD3</start> <end movetype="Move">EG8</end> <movetime>PT4S</movetime> </move> </game> I'm trying to design an XML query to take the sum of my movetime element. Basically I need the sum of each players move time. So using the above sample, PlayerA would have a total move time of 5 seconds and PlayerB would have a total move time of 3 seconds. Here's the XML query that I've been currently been working with SELECT GameHistory.query('declare default element namespace "http://my.name.space"; data(/game/move/movetime)') AS Value FROM GamesWHERE Id=560 I'm a newbie to XSLT / XPATH functions :P
