• Multiple Windows Desktop areas for Full-Screen applications

  Is it possible to run multiple instances of Windows Explorer within a single user session, or configure multiple desktops that are portions of a screen? I don't know the best way to describe what I want to achieve, but here's a picture of what I've got: I've got a 4 monitor setup, 3 portrait and one landscape, and I am normally running a number of RDP sessions, outlook, chrome, a development environment or two, so on and so forth. Most of these applications support full-screen views which mostly or completely hide the window borders, but on the Windows Desktop they take up a full monitor to do so. What I want to do is have 7 "desktops", "regions", call them what you will, each of which is, for the purposes of applications running in it, a "full screen" environment: I'm not tied to Windows Explorer for this, in case it helps - a different window manager that will support this functionality would be a perfectly acceptable answer.

• Pass variable to Info Window in FusionTableLayer

  I am building a web application that includes a Google Map layered with data from a Google Fusion Table. I have defined the info window for the markers in the Fusion Table and all is rendering as expected, but I have one issue. I need to pass a session variable from my web application to be included in the links that are defined in the info window, but can't seem to find a way to do this. • Ensuring WPF window is on top all the time even when user clicks another maximised application

  Hi I am trying to ensure my WPF window stays on top as long as it is open. It is acting as a pop-up set to TopMost=true, and a call to the win32 SetWindowPos to TOPMOST. When first opened it appears on top of another running application on the desktop- maximized or not. If the user activates or uses a window in the application mine loses focus and disappears. I thought of manipulating the other application window, setting it to a lower z index. How do I find the application window? How do I iterate through all windows? (This question still stands, even if it is not the correct approach). I would be using SetWindowPos, GetForegroundWindow, GetForegroundWindow, GetDesktopWindow et cetera. I suspect that as soon as the user clicks in their application that it will still focus it regardless and I am barking up the wrong tree. At the moment, my application is a black box and I can’t handle it the other way, for example, periodically messaging my app to focus. I also thought of having a long running background thread which periodically focuses my WPF popup, but need to watch resources and processor. Kind regards,

I want to update the colour of the label on the IsActive property of the window using styles and triggers so that all the labels inheriting this style should exhibit the same property. • Shortcut for moving between Vim windows

  Let's say I have single Vim tab displaying 9 buffers (equally separated, like a table 3x3). Currently, to get from the top left window to the bottom right one, I have to press 3, Ctrl+W, J, and then 3, Ctrl+W, L. This is cumbersome and I would like to just be able to press Ctrl+9 to go to the 9th window and Ctrl+3 to go to the 3rd window, etc. Is there any easy way I can map something like this in Vim?

  Hi, I created a WPF application in Visual Studio 2010 Express (C#) and added the text below to the Application.Resources in App.xaml. I see the style applied to the window in the designer, but when I run the application, the window background is white. Running in Windows XP on BootCamp on a MacBook Pro if that is a factor.   I inherited a web application that makes calls to a web service. It is being developed in VS2008 SP1 and deployed to IIS6 (2k3 Server R2). Since I upgraded to Windows 7 Enterprise RTM, the following line gets added to my Web.config: <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> The problem is that when I deploy this application to my web server I get the following error: The element 'transport' cannot contain child element 'extendedProtectionPolicy' because the parent element's content model is empty I can remove the line and it will work, but its a pain and I forget sometimes to remove it again (VS2008 adds seems to add it back whenever I load the solution!!). Is there anything that can be done?   It's pretty easy to sanitize HTML and strip ALL instances of a HTML tag using Rails helpers... But how do you just remove ONE tag? In this case, I'm using a WYSIWYG editor that insists on wrapping all my text in a <p> tag. I want to remove this parent tag without stripping out any other <p> tags within the content of the text. I know I could do this in JQuery really easily but I feel like this should be done server-side in my controller before I save the text. Is there a way to do this?

• Outlook 2003 add-in - Getting COM exception on application shutdown after creating WPF window

  Hi! I'm developing an outlook 2003 add-in. Until now I used only winforms to display one form, but today I've added a WPF window for more complex stuff. DUe to the WPF window, a COM exception is being thrown when outlook shuts down. Does anybody know why? I need to start a separate thread for the WPF window in single apartment state. For example: CREATE TABLE Employee ( empId BIGINT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, empName VARCHAR(100) NOT NULL, managerId BIGINT, CONSTRAINT pk_employee PRIMARY KEY (empId) ) Here, the managerId column may be null, or may point to another row of the Employee table. Business rule requires the Employee to know about all his reportees and for him to know about his/her manager. The business rules also allow rows to have null managerId (the CEO of the organisation doesn't have a manager). How do we map this relationship in Hibernate, standard many-to-one relationship doesn't work here? Example code would be appreciated.

Inside this view there's abutton where I fire the presentModalView... in the main view, not on NC, but it's parent view: ABVIEW NC NEWVIEW new attach a presentModalView... on ABVIEW, so [abview present...]; No problem till now. When it's the time to dismiss, after the temporary window (let's calls it NOTES) disappear, my ABVIEW with all the subviews change Y position from 0 to 20, the same height of the status bar. But I've never seen this particular syntax before. What is that undefined doing there? And why does window need to be passed and then appear at the end again?

• iPhone UITableView trigger a parent method?

  Okay, so I'm working on an iPhone app with a preferences-esque section where there's a base TableView, which has one section, and several rows of customized cells to hold a name and a value label. Clicking on a row brings up another View, which allows the user to pick from a list (another TableView), and select an item. All of these TableViews are done programatically. The base TableView has a property that holds a Controller instance for each of the "pick from the list" Views. Each of the "pick from the list" views has a property called chosenValue that has the currently-selected option. I've gotten the UI to handle the didSelectRowAtIndexPath to update the chosenValue property and then "pop" the view (going back to the main TableView). But, even though the main TableView's cellForRowAtIndexPath method references the chosenValue property of the subview that's held in a property, the view doesn't update when an item is selected. In short, how can the sub-view trigger a reloadData on the parent object, after it "pops" and unloads?

  Hello, At moment my main layout consists of vertically oriented stack panel and it looks like this: Root StackPanel StackPanel - fixed Height 150 (horizontal orientation) StackPanel - relative Height must be behalf of free space left on screen (but at least 150 px). Used by Telerik GridView Control, if I don't specify Height or MaxHeight Telerik GridView Height becomes very large and does not fit my window. StackPanel - fixed Height 100 (horizontal orientation) StackPanel - relative Height must be half of free space left on screen (but at least 150 px). Used by Telerik GridView Control, if I don't specify Height or MaxHeight Telerik GridView Height becomes very large and does not fit my window. StackPanel - fixed Height 100 (horizontal orientation) The view must totally fit available screen size. The problem is that I don't understand how to make certain areas of my view resize depending on available screen size. Is there is easy way to solve it, or should I be binding to Window height property and doing math? Thank You very much!
