  • Can jQuery animate() behave differently for specific elements within my selection?

    - by Sune Rasmussen
    I have a selection of elements in a jQuery object. I want to animate their font sizes, but as I have both the headlines and various paragraphs in the selection, they should be animated slightly differently, as the headlines should end up with a larger font size than the paragraphs. I already have this information stored in the jQuery data cache. I can do that. But, not unless I use several calls to the animate function, one for each specific, slightly different animation, perhaps using event triggering or setTimeout() calls. Of course I want to avoid this, as it's damn ugly and an odd way around. Much prettier if it could be done internally, within the animation ... Any help would be much appreciated.

  • JSF actionListener is called multiple times from within HtmlTable

    - by Rose
    I have a mix of columns in my htmltable: 1 column is an actionlistener, 2 columns are actions and other columns are simple output. <h:dataTable styleClass="table" id="orderTable" value="#{table.dataModel}" var="anOrder" binding="#{table.dataTable}" rows="#{table.rows}" <an:listenerColumn backingBean="${orderEntry}" entity="${anOrder}" actionListener="closeOrder"/ <an:column label="#{msg.hdr_orderStatus}" entity="#{anOrder}" propertyName="orderStatus" / <an:actionColumn backingBean="${orderEntry}" entity="${anOrder}" action="editOrder" / <an:actionColumn backingBean="${orderEntry}" entity="${anOrder}" action="viewOrder"/ .... I'm using custom tags, but it's the same behavior if I use the default column tags. I've noticed a very strange effect: when clicking the actionlistenercolumn, the actionevent is handled 3 times. If I remove the 2 action columns then the actionevent is handled only once. The managed bean has sessionscope, bean method: public void closeOrder(ActionEvent event) { OrdersDto order; if ((order = orderRow()) == null) { return; } System.out.println("closeOrder() 1 "); orderManager.closeOrder(); System.out.println("closeOrder() 2 "); } the console prints the'debug' text 3 times.

  • return false for parent javascript function

    - by jeerose
    $("#purchaser_contact").live('submit', function(){ $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: 'ajax/contactSearch.php', data: ({ fname: $("#fname").val(), lname: $("#lname").val(), city: $("#city").val(), state: $("#state").val() }), success: function(d) { var obj = JSON.parse( d ); if(obj.result != 0){ $("#contactSearch").remove(); $("#button-wrapper").before('<div id="contactSearch">' + obj.result + '</div>'); $("#contactSearch").slideToggle('slow'); //return false from submit!! }); }); I know there are other posts on this but I couldn't figure out how to apply them properly to my situation without making it messy. How do I return false on the submit event to prevent the form from submitting if I'm within the $.ajax and success functions? Thanks.

  • Simulating a mouse button click in Windows

    - by Ncarlson
    Hi everyone, I'm writing Remote Desktop clone in C++ using QT. So far I'm able to move the mouse cursor around fine. QT has a nice setPos function for that. However, I'm a bit lost as to what API/Library to use for simulating mouse button clicks. One method I'm aware of is to send the WM_(event) to a window using the window's HWND. However, I was hoping there was a more salient method for taking complete control over a mouse. Is there any other way to tell the operating system that the left mouse button has been clicked? Thanks.

  • Android; Confused by views?

    - by javano
    I have created a class (InputControl) which extends the view of my main class (Main), and takes focus of the screen. I have a button on the main xml layout which calls control() and sets up my InputControl view, from there I capture user input. How can I return back to the xml layout from the InputControl view class? public class Main extends Activity { public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); InputControl = new InputControl(this); } //......SNIP! public void control(){ setContentView(InputControl); InputControl.requestFocus(); } } public class InputControl extends View implements OnTouchListener { public InputControl(Context context) { super(context); setFocusable(true); setFocusableInTouchMode(true); this.setOnTouchListener(this); } public boolean onTouch(View view, MotionEvent event) { //...I AM CAPTURING USER TOUCH EVENTS HERE } }

Why is this any how can I fix it. $.widget("ui.tagit", { // default options options: { tagSource: [], triggerKeys: ['enter', 'space', 'comma', 'tab'], initialTags: [], minLength: 1 }, //private variables _vars: { lastKey: null, element: null, input: null, tags: [] }, _keys: { backspace: 8, enter: 13, space: 32, comma: 44, tab: 9 }, //initialization function _create: function() { var instance = this; //store reference to the ul this._vars.element = this.element; //add class "tagit" for theming this._vars.element.addClass("tagit"); //add any initial tags added through html to the array this._vars.element.children('li').each(function() { instance.options.initialTags.push($(this).text()); }); //add the html input this._vars.element.html('<li class="tagit-new"><input class="tagit-input" type="text" /></li>'); this._vars.input = this._vars.element.find(".tagit-input"); //setup click handler $(this._vars.element).click(function(e) { if (e.target.tagName == 'A') { // Removes a tag when the little 'x' is clicked. $(e.target).parent().remove(); instance._popTag(); } else { instance._vars.input.focus(); } }); //setup autcomplete handler this.options.appendTo = this._vars.element; this.options.source = this.options.tagSource; this.options.select = function(event, ui) { instance._addTag(ui.item.value); return false; } this._vars.input.autocomplete(this.options); //setup keydown handler this._vars.input.keydown(function(e) { var lastLi = instance._vars.element.children(".tagit-choice:last"); if (e.which == instance._keys.backspace) return instance._backspace(lastLi); if (instance._isInitKey(e.which)) { event.preventDefault(); if ($(this).val().length >= instance.options.minLength) instance._addTag($(this).val()); } if (lastLi.hasClass('selected')) lastLi.removeClass('selected'); instance._vars.lastKey = e.which; }); //setup blur handler this._vars.input.blur(function() { instance._addTag($(this).val()); $(this).val(''); }); //define missing trim function for strings String.prototype.trim = function() { return this.replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g, ""); }; this._initialTags(); }, _popTag: function() { return this._vars.tags.pop(); } , _addTag: function(value) { this._vars.input.val(""); value = value.replace(/,+$/, ""); value = value.trim(); if (value == "" || this._exists(value)) return false; var tag = ""; tag = '<li class="tagit-choice">' + value + '<a class="tagit-close">x</a></li>'; $(tag).insertBefore(this._vars.input.parent()); this._vars.input.val(""); this._vars.tags.push(value); } , _exists: function(value) { if (this._vars.tags.length == 0 || $.inArray(value, this._vars.tags) == -1) return false; return true; } , _isInitKey : function(keyCode) { var keyName = ""; for (var key in this._keys) if (this._keys[key] == keyCode) keyName = key if ($.inArray(keyName, this.options.triggerKeys) != -1) return true; return false; } , _backspace: function(li) { if (this._vars.input.val() == "") { // When backspace is pressed, the last tag is deleted. if (this._vars.lastKey == this._keys.backspace) { this._popTag(); li.remove(); this._vars.lastKey = null; } else { li.addClass('selected'); this._vars.lastKey = this._keys.backspace; } } return true; } , _initialTags: function() { if (this.options.initialTags.length != 0) { for (var i in this.options.initialTags) if (!this._exists(this.options.initialTags[i])) this._addTag(this.options.initialTags[i]); } } , tags: function() { return this._vars.tags; } , destroy: function() { $.Widget.prototype.destroy.apply(this, arguments); // default destroy this._vars['tags'] = []; } }) ;

  • jquery onclick function not firing with rails link_to_remote

    - by RahTha
    In the js file of the page, inside $(document).ready(function() {} i have $(".school a").live("click", function (e){ e.preventDefault(); ....; jsFunc(param1, param2, param3); }); Now the div with the class school has tags generated by rails link_to_remote with :url, :action, :before, :html. On clicking on this link it does all that it should do with regards to link_to_remote, but somehow the onclick event in the document.ready does not attach to it. Why would this be happening? The jsFunc all it does is post to a url async-ly, i figured out that stuffing that post url in the :before of the link_to_remote would work - but is there a more elegant way of just being able to use the attach functionality

  • What mutex/locking/waiting mechanism to use when writing a Chat application with Tornado Web Framewo

    - by user272973
    We're implementing a Chat server using Tornado. The premise is simple, a user makes open an HTTP ajax connection to the Tornado server, and the Tornado server answers only when a new message appears in the chat-room. Whenever the connection closes, regardless if a new message came in or an error/timeout occurred, the client reopens the connection. Looking at Tornado, the question arises of what library can we use to allow us to have these calls wait on some central object that would signal them - A_NEW_MESSAGE_HAS_ARRIVED_ITS_TIME_TO_SEND_BACK_SOME_DATA. To describe this in Win32 terms, each async call would be represented as a thread that would be hanging on a WaitForSingleObject(...) on some central Mutex/Event/etc. We will be operating in a standard Python environment (Tornado), is there something built-in we can use, do we need an external library/server, is there something Tornado recommends? Thanks

  • Cannot Translate to SQL using Select(x => Func(x))

    - by Dan
    I'm slowly learning the ins and outs of LINQtoSQL, but this is confusing me. Here is the statement I have: IQueryable<IEvent> events = (from e in db.getEvents() select e).Select(x => SelectEvent(x, null)); What the SelectEvent does can be explained in this answer here. I am not using the .toList() function as I don't want potentially thousands of records brought into memory. public IEvent SelectEvent(SqlServer.Event ev, EventType? type) { // Create an object which implements IEvent // I don't have the code in front of me, so forgive the lack of code } My question is really for the Select() method. I get the "Cannot translate to SQL" error and the Select() is listed in the error message. Clueless on this one :-/.

  • Context menu not firing when clicking on a line in a MovieClip

    - by Quandary
    Question: In Flash AS3, I have a furniture movieclip (converted from CAD) in another movieclip [to crop the border]. My first problem was that it didn't fire onclick at all. So I had to draw a background, and it started working when I did not click on a CAD drawing line. Then I checked mousevent.target for classname, and if it was not CustomMovieClip, I took object.parent.parent. That worked for onclick. But now I seem to have a similar problem with the contextmenu. When I right-click anywhere, I get the contextmenu, but the context menu event-handler doesn't fire if I right-clicked on a CAD line (but it works if I right-click on the background)... The problem now is it doesn't fire, so I can't take target.parent.parent.

  • ASP.Net Form Databound problems

    - by Jason Bitman
    I know there is a similar problem on this forum, but the solutions did not really work for me. I am populating form controls with fields from a few different data sources, and the data shows up great. I have an ImageButton controlwhich has an OnClick Event set to grab all of the data from the form. Unfortunately, when I click the button, it seems as though the page is reloading first, and THEN is executes the OnClick call. The data that was hand-entered, or hard-coded seems to be pulled fine from the controls it was entered in, but anything that was pulled from a datasource is not able to be read. Any ideas. this is the last hurdle in a project that I have been working on for 6 months. I want to go home... Thank you so much in advance. Jason

  • How to add a "handle bar" to a sliding div

    - by Josh Brown
    I have a small splash page and have a browser-wide div that acts as a wrapper and have a div inside of #wrapper that is attached to a $.click(); event to slide the wrapper div out to view the browser-size background photo. I'm wanting to implement a small button/link that will slide in on the bottom right corner after the wrapper div is hidden. I know it is probably mainly CSS, but am needing some help. Thanks in advance for your help! PS: Using jQuery as my framework.

  • jQuery Ajax form submit, to call php login script

    - by Stevie Jenowski
    Thanks for checking out my problem... I'm having trouble submitting a login form via Ajax for a php script to run and return a new set of html items which will be replacing the HTML in #userlinks.... heres what I have so far $("#login_form").submit(function() { return false; }); $('#login_button').click(function(event) { $form = $(this).parent("form"); $.post($form.attr("action"), $form.serialize(), function(data){ $('#userlinks').html(data); }); }); The php script checks for post data of username && password, yet all I'm getting is a page refresh and no changes. Nothing returns unless I turn login_button into a link and change the script a bit... Any help would be appreciated!

  • How can you determine if Control.Visible is set via property or if the value is inherited

    - by JDMX
    I need to find a way to determine if the Visible property of a control is set via a property change or if is inheriting it value from its parent. Using the Reflector, I find that the functions this.GetVisibleCore() and this.GetState() are both internal methods so I cannot call them. The widgets themselves are created dynamically so I do not want to attach a method to the VisibleChanged event just after the creation of each widget so can try to monitor this property. If I have to, I guess I will but I am looking for something jsut a bit more elegant.

  • Accessing HttpRequest from Global.asax via a page

    - by Polymorphix
    I'm trying to get a property (ImpersonatePersonId) from a page in global.asax but get a HttpException saying 'Request is not available in this context'. I've been searching for some documentation on where in the pipeline the request is accessible, but as far as I can see all Microsoft can produce of documentation is one-liners like "PostRequestHandlerExecute: Occurs when the ASP.NET event handler finishes execution." which really doesn't give me much... I've tried placing the call in both Pre and PostRequestHandlerExceute but with the same result. I wonder if anyone with experience in this would be so kind as to tell me where the Request object is available. My code from global asax is below. ICanImpersonate page = HttpContext.Current.Handler as ICanImpersonate; ImpersonatedUser impersonatePerson = page != null ? page.ImpersonatePersonId : null; Response.Filter = new TagRewriter(Response, new TagProcessor(Context, impersonatePerson).Process); What I want to do is rewrite some HTML based on some request parameters.

  • Re-binding an ajaxForm after content re-loads with ajax (jQuery 1.4.2)

    - by Cristian
    I'm trying to figure out why this is a problem when using jQuery 1.4.2 and not 1.3.2. This is my function: function prepare_logo_upload() { $("#logo-upload-form").ajaxForm({ //alert(responseText); success: function(responseText) { //alert(responseText); $('#profile .wrapper').html(responseText); prepare_logo_upload(); } }); } Every other live event works but can't use the .live() method because ajaxForm is a plugin. I have noticed this also for other types of binding (clicks) using the old form (re-binding after callback) Can you tell me if it is a way of solving this? This is a similar question, but due to my newbie reputation here, can't comment or ask a question there, so I'll ask a new one here. - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2208880/jquery-bind-ajaxform-to-a-form-on-a-page-loaded-via-load Thank you!

  • How to programmatically set a data cell of database in VB.Net?

    - by manuel
    I have a Microsoft Access database file connected to VB.NET. In the database table, I have a 'No.' and a 'Status' column. Then I have a textbox where I can input an integer. I also have a button, which will change the data cell in 'Status' where 'No.' = textbox.Text(), when I click it. Let's say I want the 'Status' cell to be changed to "Low". What codes should I put in the button_Click event handler? Here is the codes I used to retrieve and display the database table. Public Class theForm Dim con As New OleDb.OleDbConnection Dim ds As New DataSet Dim daTitles As OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter Private Sub theForm_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load con.ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=|DataDirectory|\db1.mdb" con.Open() daTitles = New OleDb.OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM Titles", con) daTitles.Fill(ds, "Titles") DataGridView1.DataSource = ds.Tables("Titles") DataGridView1.AutoResizeColumns() End Sub

  • ASP.NET: Why can't I call a web-service twice in one page?

    - by Shay
    Hi all! I built a web-application which calls a web-service twice in the application's log-in page - first, on Page_Load, and the second time is after a button click. When debugging, everything goes well, but after publishing the web-application and trying it - I cannot make the two calls for the web-service (each call is invoking a different function in the same web-service). If I call it once (say, in the Page_Load) its OK, but once I get to the button click event, the page just seems to be loading but actually doing nothing (loading to infinity). When I disabled the web-service call in Page_Load, the web-service call after the button click worked well, and if I switched between them (disabled the call in button click and enabled the call in Page_Load) the enabled one worked OK. How come this is happening? What did I do wrong? Could it be related to the fact that the location where I published my web-application has some URL-rewriting rules?

  • algorithm advice for finding maximum items within a time period

    - by darren
    Hi everyone. I have a database schema that is similar to the following: | User | Event | Date |--------|---------------|------ | 111 | Walked dog | 2009-10-1 | 222 | Walked dog | 2009-10-2 | 333 | Fed Fish | 2009-10-5 | 222 | Did Laundry | 2009-10-6 | 111 | Fed Fish | 2009-10-7 | 111 | Walked dog | 2009-10-18 | 222 | Walked dog | 2009-10-19 | 111 | Fed Fish | 2009-10-21 I would like to produce a query that returns the maximum number of times a user performs some action within a time period. For example, given a time period of 5 days, what is the maximum number of times user 111 walked the dog? The most obvious solution would be to start at some zero point and move forward each day, summing up 5 day periods along the way, then taking the maximum total out of all the 5 day windows. the approach seems incredibly costly however. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.

  • C# PropertyGrid drag drop

    - by gametheoryonline
    I'm trying to implement drag/drop support to a propertygrid in C# using VS2005 (.NET 2.0). The propertygrid can handle the dragenter etc. events, but there doesn't seem to be a way to get the griditem under the pointer during a drag event. The best I've been able to get so far is to use the selectedgriditem property to retrieve a custom propertydescriptor and set the value, but this requires a grid item to already be selected before starting the drag/drop operation. Has anyone had any luck with implementing this? Thanks :-)

  • How to get orientation of android from gyrsocope sensor events ?

    - by Pritam
    I am using android 2.3 on Nexus S and want to get orientation from gyroscope sensor events. As gyro gives angular velocity how to use this for getting device orientation ? Also is there any way we can get pure linear accelerations on phone's axis, without gravity vector. I expected this from Linear acceleration sensor event but just found a post and referred android source as well for Sensor which currently uses only accelerometer. So what's the best way to combine the readings from both hardware to get pure accelerations without gravity inclusions ? Thanks.

  • Intercept windows open file

    - by HyLian
    Hello, I'm trying to make a small program that could intercept the open process of a file. The purpose is when an user double-click on a file in a given folder, windows would inform to the software, then it process that petition and return windows the data of the file. Maybe there would be another solution like monitoring Open messages and force Windows to wait while the program prepare the contents of the file. One application of this concept, could be to manage desencryption of a file in a transparent way to the user. In this context, the encrypted file would be on the disk and when the user open it ( with double-click on it or with some application such as notepad ), the background process would intercept that open event, desencrypt the file and give the contents of that file to the asking application. It's a little bit strange concept, it could be like "Man In The Middle" network concept, but with files instead of network packets. Thanks for reading.

  • read http header info in ASIHttpRequest asynchronous

    - by user262325
    Hello everyone One of my project is to download several large size files using ASIHTTPRequest in asynchronous mode. I hope to read the http returned header info to get the size of files. I know [request respsonseHeaders] (requestFinished: delegate method ) can do that. I tested and found that requestFinished: is only triggered when it completed the download of a whole single file. But I hope to access the function [request respsonseHeaders] before ASIHTTPRequest starting to download files (just when ASIHTTPRequest got the returned header info). I can not find the triggered event for this. Welcome any comment Thanks interdev

  • Is Webhooks a style/pattern or a specification?

    - by Emilio
    I've been reading about Webhooks and I'm trying to determine if it's a specification vs a style/pattern. By "specification" I mean that the implementation details, e.g. headers, payload and so on are well defined. By "style" or "pattern" I mean in the sense that REST is a style (as opposed to a spec) or a pattern which describes usage but doesn't define implementation details. From what I see, Webhooks is a style/pattern. That the event(s) which triggers the http callbacks are generated however the developer wants, and that the http callbacks have no specific implementation requirements except to be an http post. Is this correct?
