  Hello everyone I've been trying to put some objects in an ASP.NET list box but its just not working. I do have an overriden ToString method so I cant understand why this statement wont work.   I'm trying to get all domains that are available in the Windows Login dialog (in the Domain dropdown). I've tried the following code but it only returns the domain I am logged into. • Adding file of the same name into the same list and unable to update name of the SPFile

  Hi all: I'm having difficulties adding file of the same name in the same list and subsequently updating/changing/modifying the name of a SPFile. Basically, this is what I'm trying to do: string fileName = "something"; // obtained from a loop -- loop omitted here. SPFile file = folder.Files.Add(fileName, otherFile.OpenBinary()); The Add method will generate a runtime exception when it finds another file of the same name in the same list/folder. So I thought of changing the file name later in the process: string newGuid = Guid.NewGuid().ToString(); SPFile file = folder.Files.Add(newGuid, otherFile.OpenBinary()); // some other processing... afterwards, rename the file file.name = fileName; file.Item.Update(); A few minute of googling indicated I need to either move the file around, or update the name field by using ["Name"] instead. I was wondering are there any other better ways to get around this problem? Thanks.

  I want to do some image processing with OpenCV (in Python), but I have to start with a PIL Image object, so I can't use the cvLoadImage() call, since that takes a filename. This recipe (adapted from http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/PythonInterface) does not work because cvSetData complains argument 2 of type 'void *' .   Hi all, I just find out about the power of date js, And its great!!! As I am a newbie I was wondering if there is any kind of general validitation for different types of full dates. eg. var d1 = Date.parse('2000-10-18, 10:06 AM'); alert(d1.toString('HH:mm')); If date is ('200-10-18, 10:06 AM'), of course it doesn't like it. So my question is if there is any quick way to validate the full date, rather than having to validate one by one. Thanks.

• What's wrong with my logic here?

  In java they say don't concatenate Strings, instead you should make a stringbuffer and keep adding to that and then when you're all done, use toString() to get a String object out of it. Here's what I don't get. They say do this for performance reasons, because concatenating strings makes lots of temporary objects. But if the goal was performance, then you'd use a language like C/C++ or assembly. The argument for using java is that it is a lot cheaper to buy a faster processor than it is to pay a senior programmer to write fast efficient code. So on the one hand, you're supposed let the hardware take care of the inefficiencies, but on the other hand, you're supposed to use stringbuffers to make java more efficient. While I see that you can do both, use java and stringbuffers, my question is where is the flaw in the logic that you either use a faster chip or you spent extra time writing more efficient software.

Web browser (tested on IE8, Firefox 3.5.2, Opera 10) shows file length before I start download the file. When I run this code on remote IIS7, web browser doesn't shows file length. File length is unknown. Why I don't get file length when this code runs under IIS7?

  Hi, I'm trying to build a java application with gcj but getting the error below. multiple definition of `java resource .dummy' gcj versions are 4.4.1 on Ubuntu and 4.3.4 on cygwin/windows XP and I'm building it with gcj --main=my.MainClass --classpath=my my/*java Anyone seen this or know a workaround without installing an earlier version of gcj. If that is the way to do it does anyone know how to do that on cygwin or will I have to build it?   I am using the FileVersionInfo to retrieve the version of a .Net assembly. Then, I want to immediately delete the file. Unfortunately after I call GetVersionInfo, any attempt to delete the file results in an error “…in use by another process…” Is there another technique to determine the version that does not lock the file? Or, is it possible to ensure the lock is released after calling GetVersionInfo? When I checked the Thread count in perfmon there was around 7000 threads created in worker process. However it doesn't work on my Device, which is set to German. The value is correct but the point, comma or whatever in that double value isn't shown correct. 43.22 on Emulator - 4322 on Device Why is that?

  I'm trying to call a parameterized stored procedure from SQL Server 2005 in my C# Winforms app. I add the parameters from TextBoxeslike so (there are 88 of them): cmd.Parameters.Add("@CustomerName", SqlDbType.VarChar, 100).Value = CustomerName.Text; I get the following exception: "System.InvalidCastException: Failed to convert parameter value from a TextBox to a String. ---> System.InvalidCastException: Object must implement IConvertible." The line throwing the error is when I call the query: cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); I also tried using the .ToString() method on the TextBoxes, which seemed pointless anyway, and threw the same error. Am I passing the parameters incorrectly?
