Keeping a web app project organized?

Hi, I'm writing a web app, using jsp to create the page content. I need a pretty good amount of javascript to make the app work. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to structure my project, such that it doesn't become a mess? This is a broad question, but the basic problem is that I'm insert javascript code directly into my jsp content. Then I might have some external js files. Ids and such are strewn between multiple files. I'm not really sure what a best practice is for keeping this type of project organized. Do you always keep your javascript in separate files? There has to be a few hooks in the jsp pages though for them, right? I tried using GWT because I'm really a c/java developer, and I was hoping it would help keep my project more organized (definitely helps) - but GWT is a pain to use with jsp, it really wants you to do all UI generation client side after the page is done loading, doesn't work for what I need to do. Again, broad question, any tips would be great, Thanks

Why are my thread being terminated ?

Hi, I'm trying to repeat calls to methods through 3 differents threads. But after I start my threads, during the next iteration of my loop, they are all terminated so nothing is executed... How do I remove unnecessary options from a select field in a Drupal form?

I'm using the better_exposed_filters module to create a set of exposed filters for a view. One of the filters is being displayed as a select field, and I would like the field to only display options that are actually associated with content in the database. Currently, I am doing this using the hook_form_alter() method. For simplification, in the following example the field is called 'foo' and the content type with that field is called 'bar': function my_module_form_alter(&$form, $form_state, $form_id) { // Get all the values of foo that matter $resource = db_query('select distinct field_foo_value from {content_type_bar}'); $foo = array(); while($row = db_fetch_object($resource)) { $foo[$row->field_foo_value] = $row->field_foo_value; } $form['foo']['#options'] = $manufacturers; } This works great -- the form displays only the options I want to display. I'm open to an entirely different way of weeding out filter options, if need be, or a way that I can figure out how to address that error.

I think i'm a little confused. I'm loading an swf, located at domainB.com/secondsubfolder, from an swf located at domainA.com/firstsubfolder. I always put the crossdomain.xml near the "loader" swf in domainA.com/firstsubfolder. It seems to not work, except if I put the crossdomain.xml in the root of the loaded content, domainB.com/crossdomain.xml. Did I always do it wrong, or is it because of some server setting? Using another domain for the loaded content, e.g. domainB_beta.com/secondsubfolder on another server just works as usual. Where do I have to look to change these settings? Does it depend on server settings, or am I doing something wrong? Manage the scrolling of just one element in a ScrollView

So, I have a ScrollView which has cards on it. ScrollView must be paging enabled. The goal is that the user must be able to scroll it, even if it has only one card. Since i am having the frame of ScrollView of exactly the same width and height as a picture of a card, i decided to increase the width of a ScrollView.contentSize and add one point to it. It turns out to be working fine, but it glitches a bit - when i drag the card to the left, and then grab it again it moves to right a little bit (i guess, for the value of that one point). If i increase the contentSize, the shift increases too (for example, if the content size is increased by ten, the shift value is ten points too). It really irritates me a lot and I want to get rid of it. Any advice on how to do that? Help is much appreciated. UPD: I tried to manually re-center the card in the scrollViewDidEndDecelerating but that didn't help. My guess for now is that the problem can be solved by setting the content offset to the right value (because now it's (0,0)), but I can't figure out how to do it.

I have a page that has CSS media queries in it, and I was requested to do this: Mobile layout: Desktop layout: Now, the HTML code is placed like this: <div id="content"> <h1>the title</h1> <p>this is the tagline of the site</p> <ul> <li>link 1</li> <li>link 2</li> <li>link 3</li> </ul> </div> I'm having quite a problem trying to achieve the desktop layout. I tried wrapping <h1> and <p> in a <div> and style it with float: left, but it didn't look as requested (the tagline is wider). I also tried with position: absolute for the <ul>, but also didn't look as requested (make the #content wider is not an option). Do you have any suggestions to achieve this without using javascript? Update: I've uploaded the code to my Koding so you can see what I'm actually doing. This is the CSS. I'm also using normalize.css. The problem I'm having now is what do the different browsers show: I think the problem might be in how do the browsers calculate the tagline's width, but as you can try with the code, if you make the tagline's text shorter, it looks more like Opera's rendering. Have I stumbled with a bug or am I making some mistake in my CSS?
