  • How to include an external jar in a GWT module?

    I would like to use the org.apache.commons.validator.GenericValidator class in a view class of my GWT web app. I have read that I have to implicitely tell that I intend to use this external library. I understand the concept of cpu_shares which can be set/displayed with virsh schedinfo, but I also found vcpu_period and vcpu_quota listed with this command as shown below: Looking at the man page, I know what the acceptable input values are but could somebody please explain in simple terms what these two parameters actually do?

    I have a small domain, which I use only for personal purposes. I'm the main user, and have at most 3-4 users at the same time. I use apache2 with passenger to serve redmine. So I start with an empty apache2: root@xxxxx:/home/# service apache2 start [ ok ] Starting web server: apache2. root@xxxxx:/home/# a2dissite Your choices are: Which site(s) do you want to disable (wildcards ok)? Then enable my site, and restart (not reload) apache2: root@xxxxx:/home/# a2ensite 200-redmine Enabling site 200-redmine. To activate the new configuration, you need to run: service apache2 reload root@xxxxx:/home/# service apache2 restart [FAIL] Restarting web server: apache2 failed! [warn] The apache2 instance did not start within 20 seconds. Please read the log files to discover problems ...     Each plesk vhost only has one user access that httpdocs directory. I want to manage a whole bunch of separate virtual hosts using Git. Does this mean installing a separate Git repository with a separate user / ssh public key combination for each virtual host or is there a way of centralising it at all? Gitosis sounds like it might help - but I'm not sure if it gets round pushing the files to each virtual host.

Unfortunately, I don't have access to the trusted certificate store on the host machines, and so I was forced to write a custom http module to verify the certificates. My module never gets a chance to do the authentication, however, because IIS doesn't recognize the certificates and responds with a 403.7 error. How do I turn off client certificate validation, while still requiring clients to provide them?

Adding a static ARP entry results in an error message telling the user that the hardware address needs to be a valid unicast MAC address.

Basically, it does like this: I connect to the local wireless network (netgear router) It works, briefly, allowing me to browse a webpage or maybe two, if I'm lucky. It then stops working / sending any packets, whilst reported still connected. Stupidly, I can connect to the same router via eth0/a cat6 cable just fine. Everyone else can connect to the AP fine (from Windows). Yes, I'm sat right next to it and not trying to access a hotspot the other side of the world. Any ideas? Is this a broken update? (I intend to reboot and test an older kernel later)? Anyone else come across this? Edit: iwconfig wlan0 rate auto is the settings I'm using for rates. Also, according to networkmanager the network is still connected. Thanks for any pointers / advice.

  • Hyper-V + RRAS NAT + Port Forwarding + RDP, can I get it all working together?

    I am running a Windows 2008 R2 server with various services running natively and two virtualised servers running on Hyper-V. The hardware server, I'm going to call it REAL1, has one external NIC, to which I can assign any of the following IP addresses: 1.2.3.4, 1.2.3.5, 1.2.3.6, etc... I need to achieve the following: I would like to be able to connect to REAL1 via remote desktop (RDP / port 3389) on one IP address (say 1.2.3.4), but also to the virtualised servers (I'm going to call them VIRTUAL1 and VIRTUAL2) on the other available IP addresses (say 1.2.3.5 and 1.2.3.6). The easiest way of doing this is to connect the virtual servers directly to the external interface and assign them each their own IP address. REAL1 will have 1.2.3.4, VIRTUAL1 will have 1.2.3.5 and VIRTUAL2 will have 1.2.3.6. Unfortunately, although I don't directly manage the two virtual servers, I have responsibility for their security. I would like to have some kind of firewall between the virtual servers an the internet. I have tried running a virtual machine firewall, but have found the performance on Hyper-V pretty terrible. The alternative I am now trying is Routing and Remote Access (RRAS): I have set up a virtual network called 'Internal' and REAL1 has a virtual network adapter connected to this virtual network I have connected each of the virtual servers to this network too I have assigned each server static IP addresses on this virtual network (REAL1 has 10.1.1.1, VIRTUAL1 has 10.1.1.2 and VIRTUAL2 has 10.1.1.3) I have installed RRAS and set up a NAT. The external interface is the external NIC, the internal interface is the virtual NIC connected to the internal network I have assigned all the available external IP addresses to the external NIC on REAL1. The virtual servers have been set up appropriately such that their default gateway is pointing to 10.1.1.1 and they can both access externally. Success! The RRAS is routing packets. The problem I have is that when I try to port forward services from the external IP address on REAL1, it only works if there is not already a service bound to the port. Remote desktop 'greedily' binds to every available IP address on port 3389 on REAL1 so I can't selectively forward incoming traffic for 1.2.3.5:3389 to 10.1.1.2:3389. RRAS will allow me to set up this port forwarding, and no errors come up. It just doesn't work. So the question I have is: Is there a better way of doing this? Or at least is there a way of resolving the apparant conflict between RRAS and everything else on the physical server?

    I have recently installed VMware Workstation 7 onto Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1 and both VMnet1 and VMnet8 appeared as "Unidentified Networks". I have tried editing HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, a tip provided by Mathews (Jul 23, 2009) but both virtual NICs still appeared as "Unidentified Networks". I will need both NICs to be listed as "Work" or "Private" and with Internet Access. What other solutions/workarounds? Thanks!

    I've enabled file sharing (AFP) on my iMac so that I can access it via our MacBook. I've also created a directory ~/shared/family that I have shared to specific user accounts. When I use the Finder on my MacBook, I see my iMac computer listed, and I can see my ~/Public directory on the iMac, but I can't see ~/shared/family. How do I authenticate from my MacBook to my iMac? That seems like it's the missing step.

  • JSF Portlets in Liferay on JBoss

    I'm currently looking at working with and deploying JSF portlets into Liferay 6.0.5, sitting on JBoss 5.1.0. I ran into a lot of trouble trying to port some JSF-y/Seam-y/EJB-y stuff I had lying around, so I thought I'd start simple and work my way up. I could generate generic portlets using the NetBeans Maven archetype for Liferay portlets absolutely fine, but it's rather irrelevant because I wanted JSF portlets I took an example JSF portlet from http://www.liferay.com/downloads/liferay-portal/community-plugins/-/software_catalog/products/5546866 and attempted to deploy into a clean, vanilla installation of Liferay 6.0.5/JBoss 5.1.0 to no avail. The log messages are reproduced at the end of this. This particular example was actually tested for GlassFish and Tomcat, so it's not particularly helpful considering I'm deplying into JBoss.   • Server.CreateObject Fails when calling .Net object from ASP on 64-bit windows in IIS 32-bit mode

    I have a server running Windows 2003 64-bit, that runs IIS in 32-bit mode. I have a COM object that was registered using the following command: C:\WINDOWS\microsoft.net\Framework\v2.0.50727>regasm D:\Path\To\MyDll.dll /tlb:MyTLB.tlb /codebase When I create the object via ASP I get: Server object error 'ASP 0177 : 8000ffff' Server.CreateObject Failed /includes/a_URLFilter.asp, line 19 8000ffff When I create the object in a vbs script and use the 32-bit version of cscript (in \Windows\syswow64) it works fine. I've checked permissions on the DLL, and the IUSR has Read/Execute. Even if I add the IUSR to the Administrators group, I get the same error.   • Is there a way to route all traffic from Android through a proxy/tunnel to my Tomato router?

    I'd like to be able to connect my Android phone to public Wi-Fi points with unencrypted connections, but People can see what I'm doing by intercepting my radio transmissions People who own the access point can see what I'm doing. There are tools like WeFi and probably others to automatically connect to access points, but I don't trust random APs. I'd like all my traffic to go through an encrypted tunnel to my home router, and from there out to the Internet. I've done such tunnels from other computers with SSH/SOCKS and PPTP before. Is there any way to do this with Android? I've asked the same question on Force Close, so I'll change this question to be about both sides of the tunnel. More specifically: My phone now has CyanogenMod 4.2.3 My router currently has Tomato Version 1.25 I'm willing to change the router firmware, but I was having issues with DD-WRT disconnecting, which is why I'm using Tomato. Some possible solutions: SSH with dynamic SOCKS proxy: Android supposedly supports this through ConnectBot, but I don't know how to get it to route all traffic. Tomato supports this natively. I've been using this with MyEntunnel for my web browsing at work. Requires setting up each app to go through the proxy, though. PPTP: Android supports this natively. Tomato does not support this, unless you get the jyavenard mod and compile it? I previously used PPTP for web browsing at work and in China because it's native in Windows and DD-WRT. After a while I started having problems with it, then I started having problems with DD-WRT, so I switched to the SSH tunnel instead. Also it supposedly has security flaws, but I don't understand how big of a problem it is. IPSec L2TP: Android (phone) and Windows (work/China) both support this natively I don't know of a router that does. I could run it on my computer using openswan, but then there are two points of failure. OpenVPN: CyanogenMod apparently includes this, and now has an entry to create a new OpenVPN in the normal VPN interface, but I have no idea how to configure it. TunnelDroid apparently handles some of this. Future versions will have native support in the VPN settings? Tomato does not support this, but there are mods that do? I don't know how to configure this, either.     I'm looking for a tool which would be able to capture a screen region, pass it to OCR and put the result into clipboard. "import ppm:- | gocr -i - | xclip -selection c" works, but gocr is unreliable: simple text on a webpage has errors. It is a clear font but the OCR tool always misses "r" and replaces it with underscore. "import ppm:- | ocrad -i - | xclip -selection c" says "ocrad: maxval 255 in ppm "P6" file." tesseract needs an image file and does not accept piping input to it. xfce4-screenshooter does not do OCR. ABBYY Screenshot Reader is proprietary. tessnet2 is freeware running on a proprietary platform. Google Docs can OCR screenshots in a batch. But my data is confidential and better not put online.
