• Extending Code Igniter functions to external PHP Scripts

  Hello everybody. I'm doing a small web app, which uses CKeditor for user input, and CKfinder for file management (images/flash). Those who know CKFinder, algo know that the config file for CKFinder as a function named CheckAuthentication() that returns false or true, giving or not permissions to use CKFinder. This is were a Custom PHP Code checks if the user as authorization to access CKFinder or not. Well for my app I'm using Code Igniter, and of course I've created a model were i handle everything about User Permissions, Loggin, Session Cookies, etc. And i also have a function witch its propose is just to check if the user is Logged in. So I would like to know if someone knows a way that i can call the function isLoggedIn() inside the model security from inside the function CheckAuthentication() in CKFinder config file. • Using long polling with WinForms Clients in .NET

  Hi We need to develop a .NET application, basically a WinForms client, which needs to be notified of changes only from the server to update the UI only in case of necessity and not every time. We initially thought of NetTCPBinding but understood that it has problems with firewalls across domains and secure networks. We now consider long-polling as a viable option but we could only find this being used with WPF and XAML clients. For example, http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/duplexhttp But we could not find anything with WinForms. My opinion is that long-polling has to do with WCF and does not matter what UI technology is used (within .NET). Do you think it is possible to use long-polling with a custom WCF channel for WinForms? I am on the way to develop a POC but dont have much time. Any help in the right direction is much appreciated. • Set Proxy Credential in Web Browser Control

  I am working on a legacy code where an application uses AxSHDocVw.AxWebBrowser (NOT System.Windows.Forms.Control) to open up web pages and am extending it to take proxy into considerations. I have following example on http://www.pinvoke.net/default.aspx/wininet/internetsetoption.html to use InternetSetOption() to go through specified proxy and tested that it works. Now the hurdle is I tried everything but failed to pass username and password with following code: //-- Set Proxy Username bool resultF = InternetSetOption(IntPtr.Zero, INTERNET_OPTION_PROXY_USERNAME, username, username.Length+1); var errorF = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); //-- Set Proxy Password bool resultG = InternetSetOption(IntPtr.Zero, INTERNET_OPTION_PROXY_PASSWORD, password, password.Length+1); var errorG = Marshal.GetLastWin32Error(); Both resultF and resultG return true and has no errors but it still working. Any hint on what may be happening here? and what method do I have to debug this? Thanks in advance.

  We are rolling out a large deployment of SQL Server Reporting Services Reports and our platform is SQL Server 2005 so our Report Server is version 2005 running in Native mode. Our web application uses server reports rendered in the Report Viewer 9.0 control. We want to be able to use local reports based on the 2008 RDL spec to create some dashboard applications. We also would like to use the new report viewer 10.0 to viewer these reports. Is there a way to run these both Side-By-Side in the same project? If so how would we go about that? Create a custom server control?

• How to print WPF Grid paged?

  Hi! I'm printing a WPF grid. As long as the data fits on one page, everything works fine. But sometimes the grid contains more data. Therefore I need to split the grid into multiple pages. Can anybody help me? • ASP.NET MVC model binding foreign key relationship

  Is it possible to bind a foreign key relationship on my model to a form input? Say I have a one-to-many relationship between Car and Manufacturer. I want to have a form for updating Car that includes a select input for setting Manufacturer. I was hoping to be able to do this using the built-in model binding, but I'm starting to think I'll have to do it myself. My action method signature looks like this: public JsonResult Save(int id, [Bind(Include="Name, Description, Manufacturer")]Car car) The form posts the values Name, Description and Manufacturer, where Manufacturer is a primary key of type int. Name and Description get set properly, but not Manufacturer, which makes sense since the model binder has no idea what the PK field is. Does that mean I would have to write a custom IModelBinder that it aware of this? I'm not sure how that would work since my data access repositories are loaded through an IoC container on each Controller constructor.

I currently have my custom cms, but i wanna go for opensource cms solution from now on. and as i researched Drupal is COOL for any kind of project from small scope to most complex ones. I have never used Drupal before, I know nothing about it yet. Would it worth to work on Drupal 6 for now, or better to wait for Drupal 7? is there any big difference about the way it works. i would feel silly to spend days-weeks to learn Drupal 6 now and after few months when Drupal 7 beta is out, a new learning curve and having troubles to upgrade to Drupal 7 my current Drupal 6 projects? The solution below works fine but I am specifically looking for a way to lookup manager of the user who created the holiday request list item in the workflow. User add new holiday item to list Workflow kicks off Wf has the manager hardcoded (need a way to look this up, maybe from AD??) and creates a Task for them to review the request.   I'd like to add a Done button to the iPhone number pad keyboard. There's even a handy space at the bottom left for just such a button. Previously, I was using a similar trick to those described in Question 584538 and Luzian Scherrer's excellent blog post, but that stopped working in iOS 4. I can do it by creating a custom inputView, but I'd prefer to extend Apple's keyboard instead of writing my own. Is there a new way to add a view to the standard keyboard? Has someone published an OSS inputView for this? Is there another way?

• SharePoint Discussion Board "Last updated" field is not updated any more.

  On of our SharePoint users informed me today about a strange behavior of a discussion board on one of his sites. Normally the standard "subject" view of an discussion list has a field named "Last updated" showing the date and time of the last post within the corresponding thread. On the discussion board of our user this field is never set to the date/time of the last post but stays on the date/time when the thread was started. The site on which the discussion board is located was created from a custom web site template which includes the empty discussion board. To narrow this problem I created a second discussion board on the same site, with the result that it sets the Last updated field correctly. Any suggestions why the Last updated field doesn't update any more?

  I currently work in a position that i have to manage and access 1000s of pages for troubleshooting and new setup.... and im trying to figure out a way for firefox or chrome to setup ANYtime it sees for instance a a web based page for equipment like (CISCO, Linksys, Sonicwall, T1 controllers) from the manufacture in the Title bar or from the originating page place a set up 2 - 3 passwords to auto log on with. 1st one of course being the most common so it logs in faster.. I access about 14 different web based products with passwords tied to each of them and if someway i can grab info stating that hey this company is cisco/sonicwall/linksys/hp/ log on with these set of 3-5 credintials. Using possible If then statements.... is that hard i saw some script files but not sure if its difficult because some apps use the MSG BOX built in feature and some use the form submit method built on the page unless i can have 2 different grease monkey scripts at the same time.... thanks.

Now, the toolbox stores a number of images that are retrieved from a database and displayed. For that I use a datatemplate inside the toolbox control. However, when I try to drag and drop the elements, I don't get the image object but the database component. • UserControl Focus Issue - Focus() sometimes returns false

  I have a user control that behaves similar to a tab control. The tab headers are UserControls that override Paint events to make them look custom. In order to leverage the Validating events on various controls on our tab pages, when the user clicks on the tab headers, we set the Focus to the TabHeader user control. I've noticed that Control.Focus() returns false sometimes but the documentation does not say why Control.Focus() will ever return false other than that the control can't receive focus. But I don't know why. Here's what i see. If my TabHeader UserControl does not contain any subcontrols, and I call myControl.Focus() from the MouseClick event, focus returns true. If my TabHeader UserControl contains a subcontrol, and I call myControl.Focus() from the MouseClick event, focus returns false. If my TabHeader UserControl contains a subcontrol, and I call myControl.subControl.Focus() from the myControl.MouseClick event, focus returns true. Can someone explain this?

  I see that version 2 of MVC.NET now has a RequireHttps attribute, which works great for me. However, what's a good strategy for turning the effect off? For example, I want to use Https on some pages, but regular Http on others. Should I create my own RequireHttp attribute? EDIT: I'm using my own RequireHttp attribute, and it works fine, but I'm wondering if there's some built-in functionality in MVC.NET Version 2 that I'm missing. EDIT 2: I must not have been clear. My question concerns the following: if you use RequireHttps, then any requests after that will be over Https even if the Controller or Action is not decorated with RequireHttps. Unless I'm mistaken, you need a 2nd attribute such as RequireHttp to redirect requests to Http instead of Https.

  I'm trying to run a custom WinHTTP based web-server on Windows Server 2008 machine. I pass "http://*:22222/" to HttpAddUrl When I start my executable as Administrator or LocalSystem everything works fine. However if I try to run it as NetworkService to minimize security risks (since there are no legitimate reasons for the app to use admin rights) function fails with "Access Denied" error code. I wasn't aware of NetworkService having any restrictions on which ports and interfaces it can listen on. Is there a way to configure permissions in such a way so that I actually can run the app under NetworkService account and connect to it from other internet hosts?

  Hello, I need one of my .exe to always run as administrator without UAC prompt. My program will be installed with setup, which will have for one time admin rights, and I need to perform such step in this setup that my exe will be always executed as admin without UAC prompt. I've found 2 solutions so far: 1) Use custom service, which will elevate the program for me. 2) Use tash scheduler: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/create-administrator-mode-shortcuts-without-uac-prompts-in-windows-vista/ Is there any other solution?   Using Visual Studio 2008 SP1 and a VB.NET project; I have some code which i cannot step into. The Immediate Window shows the message "Stepping over method without symbols 'Some.Namespace.Here'" How can i make sure the method always has symbols?! I need to step into every line of code. I am pressing F8 (which is "Step Into" in VS2008, from memory i think it used to be F11 in VS2005). This debugger stuff has always confused me: At the Solution level Property Pages i see a configuration dropdown with 4 values: Active (Debug), Debug, Release, All Configurations. - currently set to "Active (Debug)" At the Project level, i see a configuration dropdown with 2 values: Debug, Release. - currently set to "Debug"

• CruiseControl.Net Build Publisher - Only publish compiled files

  While setting up CruiseControl, I added a buildpublisher block to the publisher tasks: <buildpublisher> <sourceDir>C:\MyBuild\</sourceDir> <publishDir>C:\MyBuildPublished\</publishDir> <alwaysPublish>false</alwaysPublish> </buildpublisher> This works, but it copies the entire file contents of the build, I only want to copy the DLL's and .aspx pages, I don't need the source code to get published. Does anyone know of a way to filter this, or do I need to setup a task to run a RoboCopy script instead?

I was wondering whether the following are possible using the package: Add help texts beside/below input/select fields and textareas (e.g. "This field is required", "Example: qwerty123") Add/modify attributes for the input/select fields and textareas (e.g. adding the following attributes: class, id, name, maxlength, minlength, etc.) Add custom validations like checking whether a particular field should be unique or checking a value against a regular expression Modify the error messages Add another column to the table generated by the form Also note that djangoforms.ModelForm is different from django.forms.Form.

  I'm using the WebServiceHostFactory in my WCF services to avoid having to create a crapton of binding configuration in web.config. However, I'd like to expose the services as XML/JSON and JSONP. Reading: http://jasonkelly.net/archive/2009/02/24/using-jquery-amp-jsonp-for-cross-domain-ajax-with-wcf-services.aspx It does not look like I can extend WCF to add JSONP without resorting to a mountain of custom binding config. So, for those who have done it, is it possible to have a restful WCF service that responds in XML/JSON/JSONP depending on the UriTemplate, without resorting to a ton of config wiring?

• iPhone SSL Website Certificate Warning

  I have a few sites that have SSL Certificates installed. When an SSL request is made with my employer's iPhone, this error message is displayed: Accept Website Certificate The certificate for this website is invalid. Tap Accept to connect to this website anyway. I've pulled up the same pages in other browsers, including Safari, and they do not show any issues with the certs. • What is the equivalent of OnRender in Silverlight?

  I'm working on porting an app from WPF to Silverlight. The app uses custom types derived from FrameworkElement (in WPF) to describe shapes, and text to be rendered on a Canvas. The WPF app root node overrides OnRender() to iterate through a collection of 'child' nodes, calling Render on each child node to build the Visual Tree. Silverlight doesn't expose OnRender, but there are hints that the same effect can be achieved using ControlTemplate. Is this the way to go, and are there any good examples of using this method available? I've done some googling (binging?) and found nothing really conclusive.
