  • How To Collapse Just One Field in Django Admin?

    - by Apreche
The django admin allows you to specify fieldsets. You properly structure a tuple that groups different fields together. You can also specify classes for certain groups of fields. One of those classes is collapse, which will hide the field under a collapsable area. This is good for hiding rarely used or advanced fields to keep the UI clean. However, I have a situation where I want to hide just one lonesome field on many different apps. This will be a lot of typing to create a full fieldset specification in every admin.py file just to put one field into the collapsed area. It also creates a difficult maintenance situation because I will have to edit the fieldset every time I edit the associated model. I can easily exclude the field entirely using the exclude option. I want something similar for collapse. Is this possible?

  • make a tree based on the key of each element in list.

    >>> s [{'000000': [['apple', 'pear']]}, {'100000': ['good', 'bad']}, {'200000': ['yeah', 'ogg']}, {'300000': [['foo', 'foo']]}, {'310000': [['#'], ['#']]}, {'320000': ['$', ['1']]}, {'321000': [['abc', 'abc']]}, {'322000': [['#'], ['#']]}, {'400000': [['yeah', 'baby']]}] >>> for i in s: ... print i ... {'000000': [['apple', 'pear']]} {'100000': ['good', 'bad']} {'200000': ['yeah', 'ogg']} {'300000': [['foo', 'foo']]} {'310000': [['#'], ['#']]} {'320000': ['$', ['1']]} {'321000': [['abc', 'abc']]} {'322000': [['#'], ['#']]} {'400000': [['yeah', 'baby']]} i want to make a tree based on the key of each element in list. result in logic will be: {'000000': [['apple', 'pear']]} {'100000': ['good', 'bad']} {'200000': ['yeah', 'ogg']} {'300000': [['foo', 'foo']]} {'310000': [['#'], ['#']]} {'320000': ['$', ['1']]} {'321000': [['abc', 'abc']]} {'322000': [['#'], ['#']]} {'400000': [['yeah', 'baby']]} perhaps a nested list can implement this or I need a tree type?

  • Do you know of a good program for editing/translating resource (.rc) files?

    - by djeidot
I'm building a C++/MFC program in a multilingual environment. I have one main (national) language and three international languages. Every time I add a feature to the program I have to keep the international languages up-to-date with the national one. The resource editor in Visual Studio is not very helpful because I frequently end up leaving a string, dialog box, etc., untranslated. I wonder if you guys know of a program that can edit resource (.rc) files and Build a file that includes only the strings to be translated and their respective IDs and accepts the same (or similar) file in another language (this would be helpful since usually the translation is done by someone else), or Handle the translations itself, allowing to view the same string in different languages at the same time.

  • Calculating the null space of a matrix

    - by Ainsworth
    I'm attempting to solve a set of equations of the form Ax = 0. A is known 6x6 matrix and I've written the below code using SVD to get the vector x which works to a certain extent. The answer is approximately correct but not good enough to be useful to me, how can I improve the precision of the calculation? Lowering eps below 1.e-4 causes the function to fail. from numpy.linalg import * from numpy import * A = matrix([[0.624010149127497 ,0.020915658603923 ,0.838082638087629 ,62.0778180312547 ,-0.336 ,0], [0.669649399820597 ,0.344105317421833 ,0.0543868015800246 ,49.0194290212841 ,-0.267 ,0], [0.473153758252885 ,0.366893577716959 ,0.924972565581684 ,186.071352614705 ,-1 ,0], [0.0759305208803158 ,0.356365401030535 ,0.126682113674883 ,175.292109352674 ,0 ,-5.201], [0.91160934274653 ,0.32447818779582 ,0.741382053883291 ,0.11536775372698 ,0 ,-0.034], [0.480860406786873 ,0.903499596111067 ,0.542581424762866 ,32.782593418975 ,0 ,-1]]) def null(A, eps=1e-3): u,s,vh = svd(A,full_matrices=1,compute_uv=1) null_space = compress(s <= eps, vh, axis=0) return null_space.T NS = null(A) print "Null space equals ",NS,"\n" print dot(A,NS)

  • Finding out event that called a CGI script

    - by Acorn
What I want is to be able to make my CGI script do different things depending on what action initiated the calling of the script. For example, if one button is pressed, a database is cleared. If another button is pressed, a form is submitted and that data is added to the database. Should I be doing something like adding the name of the form/button to the end of the POST data submitted in jQuery and then .poping it off in the script? Or is there some other data that's already sent in the POST that I could get from FieldStorage that would give me the information I need to decide what the script should do when it's called? And what if I wasn't using javascript? Would I have to have a hidden field that gets submitted with the name of the form/button? Or is it best to use a different target script for each button on a page?

  • Windows batch file: is there a way to add an "and"?

    - by Beska
The short version: is there a way to to write an "and" clause in a batch file? The slightly longer version: I've inherited a Visual Studio project that creates a dll and then copies that dll to another location. As a post build step, VS runs the following script. if not '$(ConfigurationName)' == 'DebugNoSvc' goto end xcopy /Y $(TargetDir)*.config $(ProjectDir)..\myService\bin\Debug xcopy /Y $(TargetDir)*.config $(ProjectDir)..\myService\bin\DebugNoSvc :end It looks like there's a problem when the project is compiled as Debug, since it doesn't do the copy (I'm guessing that at some point the middle section got updated, but the if clause didn't.) Is there an easy way to an "and" clause in batch?

  • default model field attribute in Django

    - by Rosarch
I have a Django model: @staticmethod def getdefault(): print "getdefault called" return cPickle.dumps(set()) _applies_to = models.TextField(db_index=True, default=getdefault) For some reason, getdefault() is never called, even as I construct instances of this model and save them to the database. This seems to contradict the Django documentation: Field.default The default value for the field. This can be a value or a callable object. If callable it will be called every time a new object is created. Am I doing something wrong? Update: Originally, I had this, but then I switched to the above version to debug: _applies_to = models.TextField(db_index=True, default=cPickle.dumps(set())) I'm not sure why that wouldn't work.

  • wxPython ,Change the background colour of a StyledTextCtrl

    - by user1357159
I tried (but nothing happens) self.txt.SetBackgroundColour ((255,0,0)) As said in the title I'm trying to change the background colour StyledTextCtrl. Does anyone know a method that could be used? I've checked the API docs but I couldn't seem to find one, http://wxpython.org/docs/api/wx.stc.StyledTextCtrl-class.html (by background colour, I mean the whole writing area, of course) Does anyone know a way I could do this? EDIT: The background doesn't change in the following code import wx import wx.stc app = wx.App(redirect=True) top = wx.Frame(None, title="StyledTXTCtrl", size=(300,200)) txt=wx.stc.StyledTextCtrl(top) txt.SetBackgroundColour((255,255,0)) txt.Refresh() top.Show() app.MainLoop()

  • Remove all user's cookies/sessions when password is reset

    - by Juraj
I'm interested in improving security of my TurboGears 2.2 application so that when user changes his password, it logs him out from all sessions and he must login again. When user changes password on browser 1, he must relogin on browser 2, too. Experiments show that this is not the case, especially if browser 2 had "remember me" enabled. It's standard quickstarted app using repoze.who. It seems maybe I need to change AuthTktCookiePlugin, but don't see a way to do it without much rewiring.

  • How to insert several thousand columns into sqlite3?

    - by user291071
Similar to my last question, but I ran into problem lets say I have a simple dictionary like below but its Big, when I try inserting a big dictionary using the methods below I get operational error for the c.execute(schema) for too many columns so what should be my alternate method to populate an sql databases columns? Using the alter table command and add each one individually? import sqlite3 con = sqlite3.connect('simple.db') c = con.cursor() dic = { 'x1':{'y1':1.0,'y2':0.0}, 'x2':{'y1':0.0,'y2':2.0,'joe bla':1.5}, 'x3':{'y2':2.0,'y3 45 etc':1.5} } # 1. Find the unique column names. columns = set() for _, cols in dic.items(): for key, _ in cols.items(): columns.add(key) # 2. Create the schema. col_defs = [ # Start with the column for our key name '"row_name" VARCHAR(2) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY' ] for column in columns: col_defs.append('"%s" REAL NULL' % column) schema = "CREATE TABLE simple (%s);" % ",".join(col_defs) c.execute(schema) # 3. Loop through each row for row_name, cols in dic.items(): # Compile the data we have for this row. col_names = cols.keys() col_values = [str(val) for val in cols.values()] # Insert it. sql = 'INSERT INTO simple ("row_name", "%s") VALUES ("%s", "%s");' % ( '","'.join(col_names), row_name, '","'.join(col_values) )

  • Is there a Windows utility that will let me do multiple programmatic find/replaces on text that I cu

    - by billmaya
I've inherited some C# code that contains about a thousand lines of source that I need to modify, transforming it from this: newDataRow["to_dir"] = comboBox108.Text; To this: assetAttributes.Add("to_dir", comboBox108.Text); The lines occur in various places throughout the application in groups of 40 or 50. Modifying each line by hand in Visual Studio 2008 can be done but it's labor intensive and prone to errors. Is there a Windows utility out there that will let me cut and paste groups of code into it and then run some sort of reg-ex expression to transform the individual lines one-by-one? I'd also be willing to use some sort of VS 2008 add-in that performed the same set of reg-ex operations against a selection of code. Thanks in advance.

  • How do you leave comments/like a specific page of a Facebook Canvas app?

    - by Sebastian
I'm building a tabbed Facebook Canvas app that requires individual images to be "Like"d and commented on. Since each image is loaded up as its own page, in this style: http://apps.facebook.com/appname/image/333/ (which translates to: www.mydomain.com/image/333/) I was hoping I could just get a UID for each "image" page and then comment/like based off that. If that's possible, how exactly do I get the id for dynamically generated pages? Or any page for that matter? Thanks in advance.

  • Statically initialize anonymous union in C++

I am trying to statically initialize the following structure in Visual Studio 2010: struct Data { int x; union { char ch; const Data* data; }; }; The following is fails with error C2440: 'initializing' : cannot convert from 'Data *' to 'char'. static Data d1; static Data d = {1, &d1}; I have found references to some ways this can be initialized properly but none of them work in VS2010. Any ideas?

  • When do you use metaclasses?

  • how to fetch more than 1000 entities NON keybased?

    - by user291071
If I should be approaching this problem through a different method, please suggest so. I am creating an item based collaborative filter. I populate the db with the LinkRating2 class and for each link there are more than a 1000 users that I need to call and collect their ratings to perform calculations which I then use to create another table. So I need to call more than 1000 entities for a given link. For instance lets say there are over a 1000 users rated 'link1' there will be over a 1000 instances of this class for the given link property that I need to call. How would I complete this example? class LinkRating2(db.Model): user = db.StringProperty() link = db.StringProperty() rating2 = db.FloatProperty() query =LinkRating2.all() link1 = 'link string name' a = query.filter('link = ', link1) aa = a.fetch(1000)##how would i get more than 1000 for a given link1 as shown? ##keybased over 1000 in other post example i need method for a subset though not key class MyModel(db.Expando): @classmethod def count_all(cls): """ Count *all* of the rows (without maxing out at 1000) """ count = 0 query = cls.all().order('__key__') while count % 1000 == 0: current_count = query.count() if current_count == 0: break count += current_count if current_count == 1000: last_key = query.fetch(1, 999)[0].key() query = query.filter('__key__ > ', last_key) return count

  • Reordering fields in Django model

    - by Alex Lebedev
I want to add few fields to every model in my django application. This time it's created_at, updated_at and notes. Duplicating code for every of 20+ models seems dumb. So, I decided to use abstract base class which would add these fields. The problem is that fields inherited from abstract base class come first in the field list in admin. Declaring field order for every ModelAdmin class is not an option, it's even more duplicate code than with manual field declaration. In my final solution, I modified model constructor to reorder fields in _meta before creating new instance: class MyModel(models.Model): # Service fields notes = my_fields.NotesField() created_at = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) updated_at = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) class Meta: abstract = True last_fields = ("notes", "created_at", "updated_at") def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): new_order = [f.name for f in self._meta.fields] for field in self.last_fields: new_order.remove(field) new_order.append(field) self._meta._field_name_cache.sort(key=lambda x: new_order.index(x.name)) super(TwangooModel, self).__init__(*args, **kwargs) class ModelA(MyModel): field1 = models.CharField() field2 = models.CharField() #etc ... It works as intended, but I'm wondering, is there a better way to acheive my goal?

  • Subprocess with variables & Command from different class

    - by Pastelinux
source: http://pastebin.com/utL7Ebeq My thinking is that if i run from controller class "main" it will allow me to take the "data" from Class "model", def "filename". It doesn't seem to work. As you can see below what i mean class Controller: def __init__(self): self.model = Model() self.view = View() def main(self): data = self.model.filename() self.view.tcpdump(data) class View: def tcpdump(self, command): subprocess.call(command.split(), shell=False) When i run my code i get this error: subprocess.call(command.split(), shell=False) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'split' My guess means that its not picking up command (look at source for reference) or that its not getting command with variables. But i know the error when variables are not being picked up so i don't think it is that. My question is, from what i have thus far, how do i from "class view" grab "command" for my subprocesses to run. Thanks~ John Riselvato
