• Word Automation : Replace do not work after TypeText

  I need to generate doc (real doc, not docx) files, the "best" way i have found is to use word automation (Word 2010). I have files that I open, and then replace values inside before saving it on a new name. (Ex : I replace "" with "155023"). To do this, I use the Application.Selection.Find. I just had a problem when the new value had more than 255 characters (Thanks Microsofts limitations ...). To avoid this problem, i use TypeText in this case. My problem now is once I use TypeText, the Replace do not work anymore .. And I can't find why. Any idea will be greatly appreciated. • Problem with multiple checkbox

  I am using a checkbox that has the name selectedids[], and I am trying to select all checkbox with the JavaScript but the code is not working. However, when I change the name of checkbox to selectedids it works but I can't do so because I need all the ids that are selected on the POSTED page. • Why are argument substitutions not replaced during rescanning?

  Consider the following macro definitions and invocation: #define x x[0] #define y(arg) arg y(x) This invocation expands to x[0] (tested on Visual C++ 2010, g++ 4.1, mcpp 2.7.2, and Wave). Why? Specifically, why does it not expand to x[0][0]? During macro replacement, A parameter in the replacement list...is replaced by the corresponding argument after all macros contained therein have been expanded. Before being substituted, each argument’s preprocessing tokens are completely macro replaced (C++03 §16.3.1/1). Evaluating the macro invocation, we take the following steps: The function-like macro y is invoked with x as the argument for its arg parameter The x in the argument is macro-replaced to become x[0] The arg in the replacement list is replaced by the macro-replaced value of the argument, x[0] The replacement list after substitution of all the parameters is x[0]. After all parameters in the replacement list have been substituted, the resulting preprocessing token sequence is rescanned...for more macro names to replace (C++03 §16.3.4/1). If the name of the macro being replaced is found during this scan of the replacement list...it is not replaced. Further, if any nested replacements encounter the name of the macro being replaced, it is not replaced (C++03 §16.3.4/2). The replacement list x[0] is rescanned (note that the name of the macro being replaced is y): x is identified as an object-like macro invocation x is replaced by x[0] Replacement stops at this point because of the rule in §16.3.4/2 preventing recursion. The replacement list after rescanning is x[0][0]. I have clearly misinterpreted something since all of the preprocessors I've tested say I am wrong. In addition, this example is a piece of a larger example in the C++0x FCD (at §16.3.5/5) and it too says that the expected replacement is x[0]. Why is x not replaced during rescanning? C99 and C++0x effectively have the same wording as C++03 in the quoted sections.

  Hi, i'm making a questionnaire about a service quality, its contains the options (poor, regular, good, very good). It's contains 6 questions (radio button) and a suggestion box (textbox). In the table of the database i created 6 rows for questions, 1 for suggestion and 1 for date (a friend of mine tole me to use this but i didn't get why). q1) I'm going to atribute a value form 1 to 4 to the radio buttons options, and i'd like to sum every answer for each question, and then divide by the numbers of user that answered that question and give the mean. how am i supposed to to that? I'd also like generate reports of the month, of the year. q2) not only about the questionnaire but for registration too. I need all the fields to be completed, no blank options, if he don't complete all of fields it'll not be submitted and there will be a warning message to the user. q3) about the field type, i'd like it to be the same class that is in the database, i'm having a "problem". Ex: Name(varchar) : 1234(int), in the field 'name' of the table of the database 1234 will be shown as name, and i don't want this, i want only the type that i declared in the construction of the table. q4) i'd also like to know if it's possible to create pizza graphics, about the percentage of each question, is this possible? q5) I'm using phpmyadmin and some of my id's are auto_increment, but 'cause of my tests they at a high number, i'd like to restart to 0 the ids number, is this possible?   I have a form which I need to submit to one of three different URLs depending on a selection made in the form. I suspect the easiest solution is to use jQuery to insert the appropriate path before the rest of the form parameters as the selection is made, but not sure on what the code would be.   Say I create some object class like so public class thing { private String name; private Integer num; public oDetails (String a, Integer b) { name = a; num = b; } ...gets/ sets/ etc Now I want to create an arraylist to hold a number of this object class like so. ArrayList<thing> myList = new ArrayList<thing>; thing first = new thing("Star Wars", 3); thing second = new thing("Star Wars", 1); myList.add(first); myList.add(second); I would like to include some sort of logic so that in this case...when we try and add object "second" rather than add a new object to the arrayList, we add second.getNum() to first.getNum(). So if you were to iterate through the ArrayList it would be "Star Wars", 4 I am having trouble coming up with an elegant way of handling this. And as the arraylist grows, searching through it to determine if there are duplicate name items becomes cumbersome. Can anyone provide some guidance on this?

I was going to ask what's wrong with my code, but now I'm pretty convinced it's a bug in ColdFusion. (I'm on ColdFusion 8.0.1 / OS X 10.5.6.) It's a bug in ColdFusion, right?

• jQuery validation plugin - no error messages instead custom backgrounds

  I am using the jQuery validation plugin. The form which is being validated has custom background images for the text input fields, so instead of showing an error message for invalid fields I would like to change the background image. Making things a bit trickier is that the background image for the fields is on a different div absolutely positioned behind the text field (which has a transparent background and no border). I will spare going into the reasons for this design decision here (it's related to margins within the text field) but I thought it should be mentioned since it is critical to this question. Therefore, I have two questions: How can I stop the display of the error messages all-together? How can I instead tell the validation plugin if, for example, the name field (e.g. <input id=name ... />) is invalid then it should change the background for the relevant div (e.g. <div id=name-bg... ></div>)? • Why do I need to give my options a value attribute in my dropdown? JQuery related.

  So far in my web developing experiences, I've noticed that almost all web developers/designers choose to give their options in a select a value like so: <select name="foo"> <option value="bar">BarCheese</option> // etc. // etc. </select> Is this because it is best practice to do so? I ask this because I have done a lot of work with jQuery and dropdown's lately, and sometimes I get really annoyed when I have to check something like: $('select[name=foo]').val() == "bar"); To me, many times that seems less clear than just being able to check the val() against BarCheese. So why is it that most web developers/designers specify a value paramater instead of just letting the options actual value be its value? And yes, if the option has a value attribute I know I can do something like this: $('select[name=foo] option:contains("BarCheese")').attr('selected', 'selected'); But I would still really like to know why this is done.   Hi, I followed this way. To create a workspace to manage your source-controlled files 1. From the File menu, select Source Control, and then click Workspaces. 2. In the Manage Workspaces dialog box, click Add. 3. Type a descriptive name in the Name box, enter a comment describing the new workspace in the Comment box, and provide alternative Owner and Computer name values, as necessary. 4. Under Working Folders, in the Source Control Folder box, click the text box and then the ellipsis (…). 5. In the Browse for Folder dialog box, select a server folder, and then click OK. 6. Under Working Folders, in the Local Folder box, click the text box, and then click the ellipsis (…). 7. In the Browse for Folder dialog box, select a folder on your computer, and then click OK. 8. In the Add Workspace dialog box, click OK to create the workspace. 9. In the Manage Workspaces dialog box, click Close. when I click OK button it should get all the folder from TFS to my Local machine? but its not doing that after clcking ok and Close nothing is happening and my local floder does not contain this files tooo?   One more challenge to the XSD capability,I have been sending XML files by my clients, which will be having 0 or more undefined or [call] unexpected tags (May appear in hierarchy). Well they are redundant tags for me .. so I have got to ignore their presence, but along with them there are some set of tags which are required to be validated. This is a sample XML: <root> <undefined_1>one</undefined_1> <undefined_2>two</undefined_2> <node>to_be_validated</node> <undefined_3>two</undefined_3> <undefined_4>two</undefined_4> </root> And the XSD I tried with: <xs:element name="root" type="root"></xs:element> <xs:complexType name="root"> <xs:sequence> <xs:any maxOccurs="2" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="node" type="xs:string"/> <xs:any maxOccurs="2" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType XSD doesn't allow this, due to certain reasons. The above mentioned example is just a sample. The practical XML comes with the complex hierarchy of XML tags .. Kindly let me know if you can get a hack of it. By the way, The alternative solution is to insert XSL-transformation, before validation process. Well, I am avoiding it because I need to change the .Net code which triggers validation process, which is supported at the least by my company.

I'm sure there is a better way of doing it but this error that I'm getting is bugging me and I want to understand why. here's my code: class relist(list): def __init__(self, l): list.__init__(self, l) def __getitem__(self, rexp): r = re.compile(rexp) res = filter(r.match, self) return res if __name__ == '__main__': import re listl = [x+y for x in 'test string' for y in 'another string for testing'] print(listl) test = relist(listl) print('----------------------------------') print(test['[s.]']) When I run this code through the command line it works the way I expect it to; however when I run it through python interactive mode I get the error >>> test['[s.]'] Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "relist.py", line 8, in __getitem__ r = re.compile(rexp) NameError: global name 're' is not defined While in the interactive mode I do import re and I am able to use the re functions, but for some reason when I'm trying to execute the module it doesn't work. Do I need to import re into the scope of the class? I wouldn't think so because doesn't python search through other scopes if it's not found in the current one? I appreciate your help, and if there is a better way of doing this search I would be interested in knowing. Thanks

• IE and replaceWith not preserving radio button state

  Hello, I've run into an issue regarding replaceWith not maintaining the state of a moved radio button input. I've prepared a simple example illustrating this issue. This works in FF and Chrome, but not IE. Is there a way around this? I assume that the query is the problem because its the only thing that's different between the two.
