    Hello, We can restrict type of method parameters; for example, we should say that function parameter should be an instance of object described in class with name "Some Class". function some_function(Some_Class $object) { } Is there any php native posibilities to restrict method parameter with two or more classes?     I have a page called create.php. It receives post variables and sets up accounts. I don't want that page to be accessible by a user. What's the conventional way of achieving this? I think I remember reading something about including a page with a CONSTANT. If the CONSTANT is not present the page has been accessed directly. I think Wordpress also do it.

  • iPhone to host server to mySQL and back?

    Can someone please direct me to process for doing this? I have already done the Login verification exercise using mySQL for the dbase on my host server (thanks to kiksy). Now I am trying to move forward and "Query" from the iPhone a list of "users" that currently occupy the table (iphoneusers) in MySQL. And of course get it back to the iPhone via the php connection.   • Simple pathfinding?

    Does anyone know if there is a simple way to do pathfinding in PHP? I basically have a list of numbers (kinda like {origin:11485,outboundDirections:"11486,11487,11488"} and {origin:11487,outboundDirections:"11485,11676,94185"} and getting from 11485 to 94185 would result in 11485>11487>94185 with ways to "exixt", and I'm trying to figure out how to do this (it doesn't really have to be shortest path or anything AI-like, just a way to get from A to B) I have no idea where to start at all, unfortunately

    Because windows xp renders certain fonts so poorly, i would like to detect whether the user is using that OS and add a class to the body accordingly. I'm looking ideally for an html conditional statement or php $_SERVER var to do this However failing that a piece of javscript along the lines of below would do if(users_os === 'xp'){ $('body').addClass('xp'); } What avenues should i be persuing?!!! thanks!

  • How can I limit the number of registrants to an event?

    I've set up a basic html/php submission form where people can register for our event, but need a way to replace the submission form webpage with one that reads something like "We have reached our registration limit" when we reach a certain number of submitted forms. Our database is MySQL (if that makes a difference) I've looked around on the web but people either say to count the entries by hand, or the ones that do have an automated system use CMS like drupal or joomla. Is it possible to setup an automated script that will do this?

  • usleep() php5 uses 40% of idle CPU

    Hi guys I have a weird question, I have a cli php script which uses usleep (somtimes 1sec, sometimes 2sec, somtimes 100ms it depends) if there is some wait required, but what I have noticed its that once on usleep() it seems to use about 40% of idle CPU: Cpu(s): 5.3%us, 21.3%sy, 0.0%ni, 57.2%id, 0.0%wa, 0.0%hi, 0.0%si, 16.1%st any ideas ? cheers

    I installed lighttpd on CentOS 5.5 64-bit. Everything seems fine and running except I cannot get past 403 errors on both HTML and PHP pages.   • Enabling fastCGI for php in PLESK 9.3 or use ningx

    I have a server that runs PLESK. I can set php to use 3 options: apache module, fastCGI application, cgi application And i have a different option that just says enable fastCGI support. Which option is the best to choose from? I run an php application with mysql and some ajax. Heavy reads and writes, it is a busy website. Second thing is will there be much difference if i install nginx to work with this. there is some sort of hack i can use to make ningx work on port 80 and apache on port 8080. I don't know if this is worth my while. thanks for your time folks!

  • Apache error_log repeated attempts to access forum.php

    About every two seconds I am getting: [Sat Feb 19 19:00:01 2011] [error] [client 69.239.204.217] script '/var/www /html/forum.php' not found or unable to stat [Sat Feb 19 19:00:04 2011] [error] [client 69.239.204.217] File does not exist: /var/www/html/404.shtml ..in my /var/log/httpd/error_log file. Sometimes the request will be for forum_asp.php. I'm assuming its a bot trying to access insecure forum files, but I'm not so sure since it appears each is a unique IP and not just a few rouge IPs hitting it consecutively. And whois results of the ip's aren't all the classic ISP in Russia or China, they are more end user address (comcast, etc). Any insight into whats going on here would be appreciated. Also, any techniques people use to do a "live monitor" of web traffic would be appreciated. Right now I'm doing a: tail -f error_log Thanks.
