  • Creating static NAT blocks outbound traffic Cisco ASA

    Hi Everyone, I have two web servers sitting behind a Cisco ASA 5505, which I don't have much experience with. I'm trying to create two static NATs. One static NAT that goes to xx.xx.xx.150 and another that goes to xx.xx.xx.151. I've created the static NAT for the .150 web server and it works FINE. Incoming and outgoing traffic work great. This is the staging web server. I now need to duplicate the setup for the production web server. So, I connect the webserver to the firewall, change the public IP address on one of the NICs reboot the server and I have outbound internet access. Then I run the command: static (inside,outside) xx.xx.xx.150 192.168.1.x which is successful. I then run the command: access-list acl-outside permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.150 eq 80 Which is successful. I then try to browse the internet and I get nothing. I try to telnet in through port 80 and I get nothing (though I'm guessing because the response to the telnet request is being blocked). I've tried this with the production web server and then I tried it with another web server that is for internal testing and have the exact same problem. Both work fine until I run the static NAT rule and then no outbound internet access. I have a feeling that it's something simple that I'm missing, but my limited experience with this device is killing me. Below I've pasted the current configuration. I'm currently trying to get this to work on the .153 server which is the internal testing server. After installing vim with sudo apt-get install vim I cannot seem to start it: $ gvim The program 'gvim' can be found in the following packages: * vim * vim-gnome * vim-tiny * vim-athena * vim-gtk * vim-nox Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package> $ Is this an issue with lubuntu? Is there a workaround? Vim does start in terminal mode, I would prefer gvim though.

    Windows Live Mail by default changes straight quotation marks (" and ') to typographic quotation marks, aka "smart quotes" (“, ”, ‘ and ’). This often results in the recipient of the email seeing blank rectangles or other symbols instead of the smart quotes, due to encoding problems. Unlike in most programs, there's doesn't seem to be any built-in option to disable this, and searching online for solutions only leads to workarounds, like hitting Backspace immediately after typing a single or double quote, and switching to "Plain text" mode. Is there any way to disable this behaviour?

  • VB6 Scheduled tasks on Windows Server 2008 Standard

    Hello, this is my first time using this forum. Here is my situation: We are having issues with specific tasks written in VB6 it would seem. I am not a developer, but I am told these tasks exe are written in VB6. The task is initiated by task scheduler, the process begins to run (you can view the task in task manager, but no resources are used, 00 CPU, 760 K RAM), but nothing occurs. In a normal operating situation, the task will use 25% CPU and up to 20 MB RAM. When the task fails to run, you can still end and start it via Task Scheduler, but nothing happens. If you run just the process via the exe, it runs fine. The problem just seems to be when it is initiated via Task Scheduler. And this is a random issue, which always disappears after a server reboot. All of these tasks are VB 6 applications on Windows Server 2008 Standard, some servers are SP1, some are SP2, but both versions experience the issue. The task has been configured to run with highest priviledges, and to run whether logged on or not. Setting compatibility mode on the exe to 2003 does not make a difference. Situation 1: 51 - ERROR - Program did not appear to complete, check server!! (Desc: Input past end of file) in this situation, the task is running in task scheduler and you can view the process in task manager. . In the log file, all that is logged is: 12/17/2009 03:16 Starting T2 Populator version - 1.0.12 You can just end the task via task scheduler and start it via task scheduler and away it goes Situation 2: 36 - ERROR - Program last ran on 16-Dec-2009 in this situation the task is running in Task Scheduler and you can view the process in task manager, but no resources are used, 00 CPU, 760 K RAM. Nothing is logged in the log file. You end the task via task scheduler, but you must manually run the exe for it to complete. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced issues with VB6 tasks, or any tasks for that matter, on Server 2008?

  • lftp make-backup not functioning as expected

    With default settings, when 'putting' the file, it is clobbered without complaint or warning. When 'getting' lftp complains: get: super.sh: file already exists and xfer:clobber is unset I change my /etc/lftp.conf and append: set xfer:make-backup yes set xfer:clobber yes When putting and getting, the files get clobbered, however no backup is made. I've checked the settings with "set -a | grep clob" and "set -a | grep backup" and the values are correct.

When I try to drag a file into gnome-terminal, I don't get the path of this file, instead the image of this file just came back to the original place. Anyone knows why this happened?

I don't know why, but the replication doesn't seem to allow calculated columns (which are also primary key). It works now too, without the 'Id' column, and using the NodeId and LocalId as a combined PK. So now the question is, why isn't it allowed to have a calculated column as PK for replication with conflict detection?

    Does anyone know how to disable the unknown publisher security warning when running an application in Windows Xp Home? It's pretty annoying to have to click run everytime... I have tried: Run gpedit.msc, and go to Local Computer Policy-User Configuration-Administrative Templates-Windows Components-Attachment Manager and enable "Default risk level for file attachments", and then enable "Inclusion list for low risk file types" and add to this list the file extensions that you want to open without triggering this crap. But this file 'gpedit.msc' doest not exist on my computer, i checked system32 folder also =/ maybe its for xp pro
