  • html5media & flowplayer wmode issues...

    I'm working on our new homepage and need to implement a solution that will run a video across iphone/ipad and the standard web browsers. I found a pretty decent solution with html5media - http://code.google.com/p/html5media/ but ran across an issue with a jquery dropdown falling behind the the swf object (this only happens on FF & IE - works fine on Safari & Chrome because it's loading mp4 instead of a swf object). I know the issue is the wmode setting but can not for the life of me figure out where to set it in the html5media (http://html5media.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/src/html5media.min.js). I'm hoping someone can help me or possibly give me a better solution of implementing the video.     Hi, I'm using HTTP connection to share data with my JSON server. I use URLs like "MyServlet?param1=value1" and so on... I'm now facing a problem with one of my servlet (I can't change it because some other views are using it) : The servlet is working with a syntax including those symbols "{" and "}". The exact syntax is {(value1_value2)(value3_value4)(value5_value6)}{(value7_value8)(value9_value10)(value11_value12)}{(value13_value14)(value15_value16)(value17_value18)} Values are integers, the problem is only when I use "{" and "}" my UrlConnection returns an error for bad URL. I use this to instantiate my NSString : NSString *myURL = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://somesite.com/Servlet?PARAM={(%@)}"]; How can I code those char in my NSString ? Thanks in advance !

  • IE's responseXML.getElementsByTagName() unable to handle non English character ?

    I have a javascript that does this (http is your XMLHttpRequest object) var r = http.responseXML.getElementsByTagName('item'); The issue is variable r is always an empty list if the response contains non-English character (r.length is 0). The response header is correctly set Content-Type: text/xml;charset=ISO-8859-1 This is what the response from the webserver looks like <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?> <d> <r> <item value="jmob" label="John Möb"/> </r> </d> It happens only in IE (both IE6 and IE8), works in Firefox and Chrome. If items contain only English characters, it works fine. Is there a workaround for this ?

  • jQuery image fade not working for unknown reason...?

    Just when I thought I was done for the night, another issue is keeping me awake. It appears that somehow I have broken the fade I was using on my thumbnails. If you go here: http://ftframes.com/milad2/ When you hover your mouse of the thumbnails, it should fade up. To give you an idea, this is a working version of the script: http://nothingcantouchme.com/stackoverflow.php#download_page As you can see, the hover works fine with the fade. And please mind the mess on this one, I just added it to demonstrate. Is there anyone that can kindly assist me in solving this issue? I would lie if I told you that I wasn't completely lost.

    I want to design a webservice that returns a URI to a local resource on the webserver. What is the best (simplest) way to do this in C# using .asmx webservice? Or in other words - how can I get the URI for a physical file path in a webservice? Build a URI using the Uri class and the [WebService] namespace attribute? I know there is Server.MapPath(); that converts a virtual path into the corresponding physical path. I am looking for a way to do the opposite - having the physical path, I want to get not only the virtual path but the full URI. So if the webservice URI is http://some.server.com/services/example.asmx, the virtual path to the file I want to return is /Updates/file.xml and the physical path to that file is C:\Updates\file.xml what is the best way to get the URI http://some.server.com/updates/file.xml from that information? Currently, if the user visits a directory level URL, (Ex: http://localhost/design or localhost/css) , my .htaccess file above make sure to show him the "Access Forbidden" page. But if he visits the file level URL, (Ex: http://localhost/design/css/site.css), it shows him the CSS file or the js file or PHP file.. How can I make sure to lock file level access for the above file types, if accessed directly from the URL? Since my application is JS intensive, I want to protect it from users looking at it. Thanks

  • How to design service that can provide interface as JAX-WS web service, or via JMS, or as local meth

    Using a typical JEE framework, how do I develop and deploy a service that can be called as a web service (with a WSDL interface), be invoked via JMS messages, or called directly from another service in the same container? Here's some more context: Currently I am responsible for a service (let's call it Service X) with the following properties: Interface definition is a human readable document kept up-to-date manually. Accepts HTTP form-encoded requests to a single URL. Sends plain old XML responses (no schema). Uses Apache to accept requests + a proprietary application server (not servlet or EJB based) containing all logic which runs in a seperate tier. Makes heavy use of a relational database. Called both by internal applications written in a variety of languages and also by a small number of third-parties. I want to (or at least, have been told to!): Switch to a well-known (pref. open source) JEE stack such as JBoss, Glassfish, etc. Split Service X into Service A and Service B so that we can take Service B down for maintenance without affecting Service A. Note that Service B will depend on (i.e. need to make requests to) Service A. Make both services easier for third parties to integrate with by providing at least a WS-I style interface (WSDL + SOAP + XML + HTTP) and probably a JMS interface too. In future we might consider a more lightweight API too (REST + JSON? Google Protocol Buffers?) but that's a nice to have. Additional consideration are: On a smaller deployment, Service A and Service B will likely to running on the same machine and it would seem rather silly for them to use HTTP or a message bus to communicate; better if they could run in the same container and make method calls to each other. Backwards compatibility with the existing ad-hoc Service X interface is not required, and we're not planning on re-using too much of the existing code for the new services. I'm happy with either contract-first (WSDL I guess) or (annotated) code-first development. Apologies if my terminology is a bit hazy - I'm pretty experienced with Java and web programming in general, but am finding it quite hard to get up to speed with all this enterprise / SOA stuff - it seems I have a lot to learn! I'm also not very used to using a framework rather than simply writing code that calls some packages to do things. I've got as far as downloading Glassfish, knocking up a simple WSDL file and using wsimport + a little dummy code to turn that into a WAR file which I've deployed.

  • VLC helper protocol on Mac OS X

    Hey everybody, I am trying to add a vlc:// helper protocol on Mac OS X. To register the protocol, I have unsuccessfully been playing around with the MoreInternet PrefPane. What I want to have in my browser is a vlc://someressource.com/audio.mp3, which should launch VLC and add http://someressource.com/audio.mp3 to the playlist (this works fine on Windows and also Linux if I remember correctly). Maybe even just have vlc://http:// so that https would also be supported. I have no idea how to achieve this. I tried making a bash script, which MoreInternet would not accept. Then I tried making an application through Automator with my Bash script embedded. That did not work either, as the Automator application has no "creator code" - whatever that is?! Can any of you guys point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

  • Can a proxy server cache SSL GETs? If not, would response body encryption suffice?

    Can a (||any) proxy server cache content that is requested by a client over https? As the proxy server can't see the querystring, or the http headers, I reckon they can't. I'm considering a desktop application, run by a number of people behind their companies proxy. This application may access services across the internet and I'd like to take advantage of the in-built internet caching infrastructure for 'reads'. If the caching proxy servers can't cache SSL delivered content, would simply encrypting the content of a response be a viable option? I am considering all GET requests that we wish to be cachable be requested over http with the body encrypted using asymmetric encryption, where each client has the decryption key. Anytime we wish to perform a GET that is not cachable, or a POST operation, it will be performed over SSL.

  • rails controller defaults to respond with application/xml in production

    I have a standard contacts_controller.rb with index action that responds as follows: respond_to do |format| format.html format.xml { render :xml => @contacts } end In development, it works as intended: when I browse to http://localhost:3000/contacts, I get an html response. But, when I start the app using capistrano on a remote Ubuntu server and browse to the same url, I get an xml response. If I go to http://remote_host:8000/contacts.html, then I see the html response. If I comment out the format.xml { render :xml => @contacts }, then I see the desired html response. Pretty sure I'm missing something subtle about difference between Rails development and production modes. Any ideas about what I'm overlooking? Thanks, - Dave

    My app is currently written to accept vendor and product information like this. http://www.mydomain.com/foo.aspx?v=1&p=100 could this be re-written like this? http://www.mydomain.com/1/100/foo Since the values in the original query string are database IDs, how would I express newly created IDs as segments of the "path" in the re-written version of the URL? My goal would be to create more of an automated solution that would accomplish this. EDIT: The app is written using ASP.NET webforms, .NET 4.0 and IIS 7

    Many email clients don't like linked CSS stylesheets, or even the embedded <style> tag, but rather want the CSS to appear inline as style attributes on all your markup. BAD: <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="/style.css"> BAD: <style type="text/css">...</style> WORKS: <h1 style="margin: 0">...</h1> However this inline style attribute approach is a right pain to manage. I've found tools for Ruby and PHP that will take a CSS file and some separate markup as input and return you the merged result - a single file of markup with all the CSS converted to style attributes. I'm looking for a Perl solution to this problem, but I've not found one on CPAN or by searching Google. Any pointers?   • Popular open source projects using Zend Framework

    Hello, I am trying to find any open source project based on Zend Framework. Something well written and as popular as Wordpress or Drupal to see actual benefits of ZF as well as possibly use it as an example. The only 'showcase' I managed to find is http://framework.zend.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=14134. But this list looks confusing as for the 'official' PHP framework. The same is about ZF statistics by numbers (http://framework.zend.com/about/numbers) - 10 million downloads against 400 actual projects which is less than 500 examples in the user guide... Also Yahoo chose Symfony for their bookmarks service not ZF... Am I missing something? Thank you!

    I am trying to setup jQuery rows, with add/remove row functionality. I got started with online tutorial, http://jsbin.com/aciba that works fine. It only has input forms though. We need select to choose from. Now, I made some changes to accept selects as as well as inputs: http://jsbin.com/emata This does not work. Try selecting option 3 in cell 1, and press add "Add". The row added gets default "Cell 1" selected option to 1. What could be the reason?

    I am able to webscrape a table from a webpage containing news library(XML) webpage <- "http://www.tradingeconomics.com/calendar" tables <- readHTMLTable(webpage ) n.rows <- unlist(lapply(tables, function(t) dim(t)[1])) dfcal <- as.data.frame(tables$calendar) However I do not know how to interrogate for date or for importance. For example how could I webscrape news from Jan 2014? I am able to do this on the webpage by altering button settings, but how can I do it from within R? I was also not able to collect the importance column data. Also are there better ways for collecting economic news from within R? I have looked on http://www.rseek.org/ but could not find anything.
