• Switching DataSources on a ReportViewer in WinForms

  I have created a winform for the users to view view the many reports I am creating for them. I have a drop down list with the report name which triggers the appropriate fields to display the parameters. Once those are filled, they press Submit and the report appears. This works the first time they hit the screen. They can change the parameters and the ReportViewer works fine. Change to a different report, and the I get the following ReportViewer error: An error occurred during local report processing. An error has occurred during the report processing. A data source instance has not been supplied for the data source "CgTempData_BusMaintenance". As far as the process I use: I set reportName (string) the physical RDLC name. I set the dataSource (string) as the DataSource Name I fill a generic DataTable with the data for the report to run from. Make the ReportViewer visible Set the LocalReport.ReportPath = "Reports\\" = reportName; Clear the LocalReport.DataSources.Clear() Add the new LocalReport.DataSources.Add(new ReportDataSource(dataSource, dt)); RefreshReport() on the ReportViewer.   Hi, we have a VSTO outlook add-in we'd like to silently deploy to everyone via AD. I'm signing the App with a "Code signing" certificate (requested certmgr from AD). If I add this certificate to my Trusted Publishers, then I can silently install the signed app via the VSTOInstaller.exe (with the /S switch). We don't want to have to install my certificate as a trusted publisher on everyone's machine - we'd like to be able to say that any code signed by a certificate issued within our AD is trusted. Is there some way to do this?

• ASP.NET MVC 2: Updating a Linq-To-Sql Entity with an EntitySet

  I have a Linq to Sql Entity which has an EntitySet. In my View I display the Entity with it's properties plus an editable list for the child entites. The user can dynamically add and delete those child entities. The DefaultModelBinder works fine so far, it correctly binds the child entites. Now my problem is that I just can't get Linq To Sql to delete the deleted child entities, it will happily add new ones but not delete the deleted ones. I have enabled cascade deleting in the foreign key relationship, and the Linq To Sql designer added the "DeleteOnNull=true" attribute to the foreign key relationships. If I manually delete a child entity like this: myObject.Childs.Remove(child); context.SubmitChanges(); This will delete the child record from the DB. But I can't get it to work for a model binded object. I tried the following: // this does nothing public ActionResult Update(int id, MyObject obj) // obj now has 4 child entities { var obj2 = _repository.GetObj(id); // obj2 has 6 child entities if(TryUpdateModel(obj2)) //it sucessfully updates obj2 and its childs { _repository.SubmitChanges(); // nothing happens, records stay in DB } else ..... return RedirectToAction("List"); } and this throws an InvalidOperationException, I have a german OS so I'm not exactly sure what the error message is in english, but it says something along the lines of that the entity needs a Version (Timestamp row?) or no update check policies. I have set UpdateCheck="Never" to every column except the primary key column. public ActionResult Update(MyObject obj) { _repository.MyObjectTable.Attach(obj, true); _repository.SubmitChanges(); // never gets here, exception at attach } I've read alot about similar "problems" with Linq To Sql, but it seems most of those "problems" are actually by design. So am I right in my assumption that this doesn't work like I expect it to work? Do I really have to manually iterate through the child entities and delete, update and insert them manually? For such a simple object this may work, but I plan to create more complex objects with nested EntitySets and so on. This is just a test to see what works and what not. So far I'm disappointed with Linq To Sql (maybe I just don't get it). Would be the Entity Framework or NHibernate a better choice for this scenario? Or would I run into the same problem?

(they're 460 and 416) I suppose the height of NavigationBar is not included in viewDidLoad, but should I add it manually (add 44)?

• SmartGWT Canvas width problem

  I am having problems with showing my entire SmartGWT Canvas on my initial page. I've stripped everything out and am left with an extremely basic EntryPoint to illustrate my issue. When I just create a Canvas and add it to the root panel, I get a horizontal scrollbar in my browser. Can anyone explain why and what I can do to have the Canvas sized to the width of the window?   I've tried the add() method but nothing is displayed when I try to add Test to GraphicsTest. How should I be adding it? Can someone show me? • Databinding to ObservableCollection in a different UserControl?

  Question re-written on 2010-03-24 I have two UserControls, where one is a dialog that has a TabControl, and the other is one that appears within said TabControl. I'll just call them CandyDialog and CandyNameViewer for simplicity's sake. There's also a data management class called Tracker that manages information storage, which for all intents and purposes just exposes a public property that is an ObservableCollection. As long as CandyNames is populated first, and then the consumer UserControl is displayed, all of the names are there. I obviously don't get any errors in the Output Window or anything like that. The issue I have is that when the ObservableCollection is modified from the model, those changes are not reflected in the consumer UserControl! I've never had this problem before; all of my previous uses of ObservableCollection updated fine, although in those cases I wasn't databinding across assemblies. Although I am currently only adding and removing candy names to/from the ObservableCollection, at a later date I will likely also allow renaming from the model side. Is there something I did wrong? Is there a good way to actually debug this? Reed Copsey indicates here that inter-UserControl databinding is possible. Unfortunately, my favorite Bea Stollnitz article on WPF databinding debugging doesn't suggest anything that I could use for this particular problem.

• Jmesa table page navigation

  I am new to Jmesa and am trying to use it on my jsp page. I use exactly same JSP and controller code as the example on http://code.google.com/p/jmesa/wiki/JSPTagExample . The table shows up and looks fine. The problem is non of the buttons on the toolbar are working. E.g. page navigation arrows, etc. What might be wrong with my code( As I said it is exactly same as the example). Should I add extra code for page navigation? Thanks, Sara. Update: I found out what the problem is, after I enter toolbar buttons it routes to "localhost:8080/portal/projectTag.run?maxRows=4&projectTag_tr_=true&projectTag_p_=1&projectTag_mr_=4" "Instead of "localhost:8080/portal/page/projects/projectTag.run?maxRows=4&projectTag_tr_=true&projectTag_p_=1&projectTag_mr_=4" So it doesn't include the "/page/projects" in the url. How can I add that?

• ASP.NET radiobuttonlist onclientclick

  I've noticed there is no OnClientClick() property for the radiobuttonlist in the ASP.NET control set. Is this a purposeful omissiong on Microsoft's part? Anyway, I've tried to add OnClick to the radio button list like so: For Each li As ListItem In rblSearch.Items li.Attributes.Add("OnClick", "javascript:alert('jon');") Next But alas, it doesn't work. I've even checked the source in firebug, and there is no javascript shown in the radiobuttonlist. Does anyone know how to get this very simple thing working? I'm using ASP.NET control adpaters so don't know if that has anything to do with it. (I wish asp.net/javascript would just work out the box!!!)

When i create a new object for CustomerMaster and trying to update the fields using TryUpdateModel, it is not updating. But the TryUpdateModel is working fine on the Edit Profile Page and that particular record is referenced. The View appears nicely and works, but I need to add buttons to the toolbar that is part of the NavigationView. I can see the toolbar in IB. • Silverlight: DataContractSerializer cannot handle read only collection properties

  Hey Stackoverflowers :) For our Silverlight Project (SL4) I'm using a Model which might contain Lists (IList<AnotherModel>). According to good practice and rule CA2227:CollectionPropertiesShouldBeReadOnly the IList properties don't have a public setter. We serialize the Model using the DataContractSerializer which is working. But when I try to deserialize, a SecurityException is thrown by DataContractSerializer's ReadObject(Stream) Method, complaining that the target property (pointing to the IList property) cannot be set due to a missing public setter. Since the DataContractSerializer is sealed and neither extendable nor flexible so I currently see no chance to add some kind of additional rules which allow to deserialize the ILists using a foreach-loop on Add() method or some other method of transferring the collection items. I've also tried to dig into DataContractSerializer source (using Reflector) to create a little fork but it looks like i'd have to dig very deep and replicating whole serialization classes doesn't seem to be a viable solution. Do you see another chance to serialize a List with no public setter using the DataContractSerializer? Thank you very much in advance for your ideas! Thomas

• Need Help with Jquery TableSorter Pager plugin.

  Hi I am using the tablesorter plugin: http://tablesorter.com/docs/ with jquery 1.4.2 Now my problem is this. The user can dynamically add rows to the table. But this seems to mess up the paging. Like first it gets added to the first "page" of rows but if you would go to the second page and you go back to the first page. You newly record is gone. I don't know where it goes but it is just gone. I tried to do this $('#pagerid').unbind('click'); $('#tbl tbody ').append(response.HtmlRow); $('#tbl').trigger('update'); So I tried to unbind the pager click method and do a trigger update but that does not seem to work. • Pylons FormEncode @validate decorator pass parameters into re-render action

  I am attempting to use the validate decorator in Pylons with FormEncode and I have encountered an issue. I am attempting to validate a form on a controller action that requires parameters, and if the validation fails, the parameters aren't passed back in when the form is re-rendered. Here's an example. def question_set(self, id): c.question_set = meta.Session.query(QuestionSet).filter_by(id=id).first() c.question_subjects = meta.Session.query(QuestionSubject).order_by(QuestionSubject.name).all() return render('/derived/admin/question_set.mako') This is the controller action that contains my form. The form will add questions to an existing question set, which is identified by id. My add question controller action looks like this: @validate(schema=QuestionForm(), form='question_set', post_only=True) def add_question(self): stuff... Now, if the validation fails FormEncode attempts to redisplay the question_set form, but it does not pass the id parameter back in, so the question set form will not render. Is it possible to pass the id back in with the @validate decorator, or do I need to use a different method to achieve what I am attempting to do?

• WinForms AcceptButton not working?

  Ok, this is bugging me, and I just can't figure out what is wrong... I have made two forms. First form just has a simple button on it, which opens the other as a dialog like so: using (Form2 f = new Form2()) { if (f.ShowDialog() != DialogResult.OK) MessageBox.Show("Not OK"); else MessageBox.Show("OK"); } The second, which is that Form2, has two buttons on it. All I have done is to set the forms AcceptButton to one, and CancelButton to the other. In my head this is all that should be needed to make this work. But when I run it, I click on the button which opens up Form2. I can now click on the one set as CancelButton, and I get the "Not OK" message box. But when I click on the one set as AcceptButton, nothing happens?   I am taking a stab at html agility pack and having trouble finding the right way to go about this. For example: var findclasses = _doc.DocumentNode.Descendants("div").Where(d => d.Attributes.Contains("class")); However, obviously you can add classes to a lot more then divs so I tried this.. var allLinksWithDivAndClass = _doc.DocumentNode.SelectNodes("//*[@class=\"float\"]"); But that doesn't handle the cases where you add multiple classes and "float" is just one of them like this.. class="className float anotherclassName" Is there a way to handle all of this? I basically want to select all nodes that have a class = and contains float.
