  • Book recommendation for project architecture?

    I already have a solid knowledge of Object-oriented PHP as well as HTML/Javascript/MySQL plus a basis in Java. Now I would like to implement my projects in an efficient way, whether it is a web project in PHP or an Android application. My problem is once my code gets bigger I start messing error handling, with form validation etc, and I guess its because of my poor basis in software architecture. Thanks.

And I got it wrong so I asked my teacher and he said he wants the actually definition of static not a static method, class or variable just static. My intension was just trying to gather knowledge from programming guru's who worked in both the programming technologies.     I was studying the legacy API's in the Java's Collection Framework and I learnt that classes such as Vector and HashTable have been superseded by ArrayList and HashMap. However still they are NOT deprecated, and deemed as legacy when essentially, deprecation is applied to software features that are superseded and should be avoided, so, I am not sure when is a API deemed legacy and when it is deprecated.

  • Adding images to a JAR file in Eclipse?

    I'm trying to make a game in java, but I'm a bit of a newb. The game has images, and when I run the application from eclipse, they all show up fine. But when I export the project as an application, the images don't show up. When I put the application in the same folder as the images, they show up when I run the application, so someone suggested that I just need to put the image files inside my JAR. Can someone tell me how? Thank you

    I want to do AES CBC encryption in Java. I'm using javax.crypto. After I have the Cipher initialized, do I only need to call doFinal on the clear bytes to properly encrypt it? Or do I need to do something with update? Documentation says update: Continues a multiple-part encryption or decryption operation and doFinal Encrypts or decrypts data in a single-part operation, or finishes a multiple-part operation what exactly do they mean by multiple-part encryption?
