  • Sharing same properties of ViewController for iPhone Stroryboard and iPad Story Board

    I'm developing a universal application. in the first view, I have the login screen for the user. In iPhone storyBoard, I have added 2 text field and one button( login check). I have added properties in ViewController.h file by dragging those objects(Ctrl key + Dragg) to .h file. I have added code for login check and it is working fine for iPhone. This is the code in ViewController.h @property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UITextField *txtUserId; @property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UITextField *txtUserPwd; @property (strong, nonatomic) IBOutlet UIButton *btnLogin; In the iPad storyBoard, I have added 2 text field( userid and password) and i button for login. So now, I want to bind those objects with the veriable which I declared already in ViewController.h file in case of iPhone. My questions: 1. What is the right way to bind properties for both storyboard? 2. Am I on the right direction or should I think in a different way to do it? I am new with iPhone development. Please help.     How could I adapt this query to show the previous 61 weeks? (still exlcluding the current week). My query currently shows me the total weekly sales for 2010 grouped by ISO Week and ISO Year (exlcuding the current week). select to_char(order_date,'IYYY') as iso_year, to_char(order_date,'IW') as iso_week, sum(sale_amount) from orders where to_char(order_date,'IW') <> to_char(SYSDATE) and to_char(order_date,'IYYY') = 2010 group by to_char(order_date,'IYYY') to_char(order_date,'IW') I realize I could probably just omit the "2010" requirement, order by desc and limit results to a certain bnumber of rows. But that just doesn't seem right! Much appreciate any help pointing me in the right direction!

  • iPhone memory management (with specific examples/questions)

    Hey all. I know this question's been asked but I still don't have a clear picture of memory management in Objective-C. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of it, but I'd still like some correct answers for the following code. I have a series of examples that I'd love for someone(s) to clarify. Setting a value for an instance variable. Say I have an NSMutableArray variable. In my class, when I initialize it, do I need to call a retain on it? Do I do fooArray = [[[NSMutableArray alloc] init] retain]; or fooArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; Does doing [[NSMutableArray alloc] init] already set the retain count to 1, so I wouldn't need to call retain on it? On the other hand, if I called a method that I know returns an autoreleased object, I would for sure have to call retain on it, right? Like so: fooString = [[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d items", someInt] retain]; Properties. I ask about the retain because I'm a bit confused about how @property's automatic setter works. If I had set fooArray to be a @property with retain set, Objective-C will automatically create the following setter, right? - (void)setFooArray:(NSMutableArray *)anArray { [fooArray release]; fooArray = [anArray retain]; } So, if I had code like this: self.fooArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; (which I believe is valid code), Objective-C creates a setter method that calls retain on the value assigned to fooArray. In this case, will the retain count actually be 2? Correct way of setting a value of a property. I know there are questions on this and (possibly) debates, but which is the right way to set a @property? This? self.fooArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; Or this? NSMutableArray *anArray = [[NSMutableArray alloc] init]; self.fooArray = anArray; [anArray release]; I'd love to get some clarification on these examples. Thanks!

    Hello, We have an application structured roughly like this: <Grid x:Name="LayoutRoot"> <ScrollViewer> <Canvas x:Name="canvas"> <StackPanel> < Button /><Slider /><Button /></StackPanel> <custom:Blob /> <custom:Blob /> <custom:Blob /> </Canvas> </ScrollViewer> </Grid> Each Blob consists of 1 or more rectangles, lines, and text boxes; they are positioned anywhere on the canvas. If I print the document using the LayoutRoot: PrintDocument pd = new PrintDocument(); pd += (s, pe) => { pe.PageVisual = LayoutRoot; }; pd.Print("Blobs"); ... it is like a print-screen -- the scrollbars, the sliders, the blobs that are visible -- are printed. If I set PageVisual = canvas, nothing is printed. How can I get all the blob objects, and just those objects, to print? Do I need to copy them into another container, and give that container to PageVisual? Can I use a ViewBox to make sure they all fit on one page? Thanks for any pointers....

    Does anyone know of a Firefox plugin that would enable tab-completion (or some other key sequence like Alt-L) of items in drop-down lists in web forms? e.g. ou<TAB>in<TAB>s<TAB> for 'OurCompany - Internal Support' Vimperator's hints mode makes it very ergonomic to focus the drop-down list with a key sequence like f13 but the keyboard interface to the drop-down list still sucks. I very frequently have to pick items from a very long list with very long common prefixes among the entries (e.g. 30-40 starting with OurCompany -), which renders both the built-in keyboard interface and the mouse pretty slow and unergonomic. I basically want readline support for filling webforms!

  • Django - Static content display based on URL

    I'm working on a Django site with a basic three column design. Left column navigation, center column content and right column URL specific content blocks. My question is about the best method of controlling the URL specific content blocks in the right column. I am thinking of something along the lines of the Flatpages app that will make the content available to the template context if the URL matches a pre-determined pattern (perhaps regex?). Does anyone know if such an app already exists? If not, I am looking for some advice about the best way to implement it. Particularly in relation to the matching of patterns to the current URL. Is there any good way to re-use parts of the Django URL dispatcher for this use?

  • Unable to dismiss MFMailComposeViewController, delegate not called

Problem is, delegate method mailComposeController:(MFMailComposeViewController)controllerdidFinishWithResult* is never called when I select Cancel or Send button in Mail compose window.   • Problem with ScriptManager when trying to email rendered contents of ASP.NET page

    I recently added a Telerik control to an ascx that is included in an aspx page. This page has a "Send email" button, which when clicked will email the user the rendered output of the page. The Telerik control I added requires a ScriptManager, so I added that to the ascx. However, now the email button won't work. I get the following error: The control with ID 'myIdHere' requires a ScriptManager on the page. The ScriptManager must appear before any controls that need it. I know the script manager exists because the page works fine when I go that url, it is only failing when it tries to email the rendered output. Here's a code snippet, any ideas as to whether there is a problem with scriptmanager when doing this sort of thing?     I need a VNC LIKE application which rather than sharing the screen, can take control of a specific application and then share that functionality across a network to multiple clients. Obviously, VNC requires use of the mouse and therefore only one user can do something at one time, this is NOT what I am after. I am after something that can hijack the graphic user interface, map certain controls, and then display them in another piece of software (perhaps like TOUCHOSC) The software I would like to map and share is called YAMAHA STUDIO MANAGER and is used to control certain Yamaha audio hardware, and in my case a Yamaha LS9 and M7CL mixing console.   • validation controls are not validating on enabling on client side using java script, plz guide

    Hi, As per requirement I disabled all validation controls in page on PageLoad event in server side. On clicking submit button I want to activate them and validate the page and if the page is ok submit other wise not. I am able to enable all validaters but one thing that I am unable to understand is that they do not validate the page. I set alerts and check they are being enabled but they do not validate the page and let the page submit. I am sorry I couldn't get where I am wrong, may be there need to call some validation method as well or I should prevent default behavior of button. please guide me.   • Systray stretching out for no reason.

    I just restored my Windows install back to a previous state with Macrium. For some odd reason it is now stretching out my systray up to halfway across my taskbar. Any ideas why? No it did not do this 6 months ago when I took the image or anytime after that when I was using it. This is in Windows 7x64. The blank area seems to be filled with blank icons because if I place the mouse anywhere in the blank area the systray will slide over by about 1 icon's width. The missing icon between the battery and the volume is I assume my network icon. Not sure why that is missing as well.

Why doesn't putting a margin on the div cause the input to move down? Why must I put the margin on the input itself? There must be some fundamental law of css I am not grasping.

    I want to change search image in magento. On search in magento the image name is btn_search.gif. Right now it take image from skin/frontend/default/default/images. If this exist then it will take skin image. I want to use that locale image instead of that skin image. So when i click on french store i get the image which is i set in /app/design/frontend/default/default/locale/fr_FR/images/btn_search.gif I check the code for getSkinUrl in /app/code/core/Mage/Core/Model/Design/Package.php. And i found that he check locale for file but it return skin url. Is there any method which return locale url ?

  • Ubuntu 9.10 freezes when HDMI port is connected

    I have a Sony Vaio FW350 with a HDMI output. I'm trying to use it under Ubuntu 9.10 with a LG LCD monitor 21,5'. The laptop has a Intel 4500 video card. I've tried two approaches: Boot the laptop with the HDMI cable connected and monitor turned on. Result: LCD Monitor keeps turned on but the whole screen is black and Ubuntu do not seem to be initializing. Boot Ubuntu until the end. I then connect the HDMI cable into the Laptop. The mouse and the whole system freezes. In both cases the only way to turn off the laptop is holding the power button. I've looked around the internet for similar problems, but only found workarounds for the same problem with VGA input, not HDMI. I also tried to use metacity before connecting the cable, but still got the same result. Any hints?

  • Handling Complex Rules in in GUI applciations (C++ or C#)

    Im working on a dialog box in which several rules must be satisfied before the OK button is enabled. Currently any action on the page such as entering data or selecting an item from a drop down list (amongst other things) calls a single function called ProcessEvent() - this function handles all logic and either enables or disables the OK button. My problem is I finding it difficult making the rules concise and understandable. Some of the rules can be negated by another action on the dialog and I have now ended up with if else statements all over the place or which are difficult to read and follow & extend. The code below is a simplification of the problem but demonstrates it well.   • Quick CPU ring mode protection question

    Hi, me again :) I am very curious in messing up with HW. But my top level "messing" so far was linked or inline assembler in C program. If my understanding of CPU and ring mode is right, I cannot directly from user mode app access some low level CPU features, like disabling interrupts, or changing protected mode segments, so I must use system calls to do everything I want. But, if I am right, drivers can run in ring mode 0. I actually don´t know much about drivers, but this is what I ask for. I just want to know, is learning how to write your own drivers and than call them the way I should go, to do what I wrote? I know I could write whole new OS (at least to some point), but what I exactly want to do is acessing some low level features of HW from standart windows application. So, is driver the way to go?

  • C++ Why am I unable to use an enum declared globally outside of the class it was declared in?

    Right now, my project has two classes and a main. Since the two classes inherit from each other, they are both using forward declarations. In the first object, right underneath the #include statement, I initialize two enums, before the class definition. I can use both enums just fine inside that class. However, if I try to use those enums in the other class, which inherits from the first one, I get an error saying the enum has not been declared. If I try to redefine the enum in the second class, I get a redefinition error. I have even tried using a trick I just read about, and putting each enum in its own namespace; that didn't change anything.
