• "PGError: no connection to the server" after idle

  After my application sits idle overnight, when I try to access it in the morning I get a 500 Internal server error and the logs indicate "PGError: no connection to the server". After this first request if I refresh the page again everything is fine. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 with apache 2, Passenger 3.0.2, Rails 2.3.8, and Postgres 8.4 on a remote server. Any ideas how to fix this? • Html2Canvas ...Google Map is not rendering

  I am running a Apache Server . I have a simple screen capture set up using Html2canvas .The capture function is rendering a blank Image . I have tried numerous ways to configure the javascript using related articles from this site to no Avail . The code is all working and tested because I can capture the image prior to "google maps api being loaded . • MVC 3 Client Validation works intermittently

I’ve notice that client validation is not working as it suppose in the application that we are creating, so I’ve made a quick test. However in some cases (after a build) Title validation is not working and Email is, or CardNumber or Title and CardNumber but Email is not. But never all validation is working before clicking Create. I’ve tried creating form with Html.EditorForModel as well as enforce client validation just before BeginForm: @{ Html.EnableClientValidation(); } I’m providing a source code for this sample on dropbox – as maybe our dev env is broken :/ I’ve done tests on IE 8 and Chrome 10 beta. Just in case, in web config validation scripts are enabled: <appSettings> <add key="ClientValidationEnabled" value="true"/> <add key="UnobtrusiveJavaScriptEnabled" value="true"/> </appSettings> So my questions are Is there a way to ensure that Client validation will work as it supposed to work and not intermittently? I wanted the foreach ($_POST as &$value) and foreach ($_GET as &$value) loops to loop through the received info from the user submission and strip/remove all malicious input. I am calling a function called clean on the input first to achieve the objective as stated above. This function will process each of the input, whether individual field values or even arrays and allow only tags and remove everything else. The rest of it is obvious. Once this happens, the new/cleaned values will be processed by the fn_register() function and based on the values returned after the validation, we get the corresponding errors or NULL values (as applicable). So here's my questions: 1. This pretty much makes me feel secure as I am forcing the user to correct malicious data and won't process the final data unless the errors are corrected. Am I correct? Does the method that I follow guarantee the speed (as I am using lots of functions and their corresponding calls)? The fields of a form differ and the minimum number of fields I may have at any given point of time in any form may be 3 and can go upto as high as 100 (or even more, I am not sure as the website is still being developed). Will having 100's of fields and their validation in the above way, reduce the speed of application (say upto half a million users are accessing the website at the same time?). What can I do to improve the speed and reduce function calls (if possible)? 3, Can I do something to improve the current ways of validation? I am holding off object oriented approach and using FILTERS in PHP for the later. So please, I request you all to suggest me way to improve/tweak the current ways and suggest me if the script is vulnerable or safe enough to be used in a Live production environment. • Using javascript to limit survey choices to three unique values

  I'm required to use a limited survey application, and have to adapt the provided code to meet more advanced functionality. I need to create a weighted ranking question, so users can select their top three choices and the data will go into the survey application and be accessible in the survey reports. The application only supports 2 types of questions (text fill & multiple choice) but I can alter the code, as long as it still sends the form data back to the survey application. The code is set up so it will show a drop-down menu of 0-3 for each option. Now I want to limit the user's choices so they can only select one "1" "2" or "3", three choices total. Ideally, if the user already had "2" selected for one option and they tried to select it for another option, it would set the first "2" as "0" or blank. Is this possible to do with javascript? If so, does anyone know of a site that might show code like this, or provide similar enough examples that I could adapt it? • Android remote service doesn't call service methods

  Hello, I'm developing a GPS tracking software on android. I need IPC to control the service from different activities. So I decide to develop a remote service with AIDL. This wasn't a big problem but now it's always running into the methods of the interface and not into those of my service class. Maybe someone could help me? I fill in all of the fields in the contact form and the correct reCaptcha words, but the form does not submit.   I'm implementing the Credit Card Payment form of PayMill according to the Payment Form docu. So I copied the JS from the Bridge docu page and the form from the Payment Form docu page. But no token is created. When I try to debug the JS and add console.info(error.apierror); into the paymillResponseHandler(...) function, I get the error code: field_invalid_amount. According to the support page There are three possible reasons for this error message: no amount value was provided numbers were rounded wrong delimiter symbol But the amuont is provided and I've already tried different delimiter symbols. • MVC4 Model in View has nested data - cannot get data in model

  I have a Model defined that gets me a View with a list of RadioButtons, per IEnumerable. Within that Model, I want to display a list of checkboxes that will vary based on the item selected. Finally, there will be a Textarea in the same view once the user has selected from the available checkboxes, with some dynamic text there based on the CheckBoxes that are selected. What we should end up with is a Table-per-hierarchy. The layout is such that the RadioButtonList is in the first table cell, the CheckBoxList is in the middle table cell, and the Textarea is ini the right table cell. If anyone can guide me to what my model-view should be to achieve this result, I'll be most pleased...   I have been trying to create a gui that calculates trigonometric functions based off of the user's input.   I am trying to create a login page that will send the user to a different index.php page based on their login credentials. For example, should a user with the "IT Technician" role log in, they will be sent to "index.php", and if a user with the "Student" role log in, they will be sent to the "student/index.php" page.   Hello, My question is how do i put these session variables into a array? I have tried countless ways but none of them work. Not really sure what to put in a array and what no and how to adress them. Currently when i fill in the form the data gets displayed in a table. Next when i press the hyperlink that takes me back to the same form, i wish to enter data again. This data should be added in a new row in the same display table. Best Regards.
