• Possible conflict with jquery libraries

  http://www.pro-marketing-invest.de/golz-racing/reservierungen I made a wp plugin which makes online reservations for rent a car but I tested it locally with a different wp theme and it worked fine! but when I installed it in this web site for some reason the jquery functions dont work! when I press the fortsetzen button it wont open the other step (its a form with 4 steps). I think it is because of the other jquery functions or libraries that the theme uses, I am frustrated I dont know what is causing this! Any ideas?

  There's a button in Flash which looks something like a jQuery SplitButton. The Flash button consists of two parts, the text and the icon. [text portion] [v] I have used it to display string search operators for the user: equals, starts with, ends with, contains. In Flash, when the icon is clicked, the text-area drops down a list of choices; it would look like this: [ ] [v] equals starts with ends with contains And when the user makes a choice from the list, the choice is displayed in the text area of the button and the list rolls up. [ starts with ] [v] I'm trying to convert my Flash app and am hoping to come up with a counterpart to this functionality. For space considerations on the form, a radio-button-group would be less than ideal. That's the major virtue of this Flash button -- it's very economical in its use of screen real-estate.   Hi, We're about to launch a little twitter Christmas competition, and I've run into a little snag. To enter, people will need to post a tweet in the following format: @user blah, blah, blah #hashtag Currently, I have a form where they enter their answer (the blah, blah, blah) and a PHP script which encodes the entire statement and adds on the twitter url: http://www.twitter.com/home?status=%40user%20blah%2Cblah%2Cblah%20%23hashtag Then takes the user to twitter and puts the status in the update field. However, whilst the spaces (%20) are decoded fine the @ and # characters remain as %40 & %23 respectively, even when the tweet is posted. I cannot put the actual characters in the url as twitter mistakes this for a search. Is there any way to solve this? I'd like to do it without requiring username & password etc if possible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

• How do I quiet image_submit_tag from params hash?

  Does anyone know how to eliminate the x and y params when you use image_submit_tag with a get method? I have a simple search form, and using get to pass the value in the url. When I use image_submit_tag, it also appends the x and y coords, so I get urls like http://example.com?q=somesearchterm&x=15&y=12 When I have used submit_tag, I can use the :name = nil attribute (was in one of Ryan Bates' Railscasts), but it doesn't seem to work for image_submit_tag. Granted it doesn't affect functionality, but I don't need them and would like them quieted.

  I am developing a project in asp.net web forms. I have a little problem. Whent the page load, I load some data from the dabase and present it on the page. On the same page I have form where I can input some textobox and with the click on the button make update on the same data in the database whis is at the first time loaded on the same page? The date is update, I can see it in SQL SERVER, but on the web page not. Its still the old data presents. After I close my application and run it again, then the new data appears on the page.

• Comparing large strings in JavaScript with a hash

  I have a form with a textarea that can contain large amounts of content (say, articles for a blog) edited using one of a number of third party rich text editors. I'm trying to implement something like an autosave feature, which should submit the content through ajax if it's changed. However, I have to work around the fact that some of the editors I have as options don't support an "isdirty" flag, or an "onchange" event which I can use to see if the content has changed since the last save. So, as a workaround, what I'd like to do is keep a copy of the content in a variable (let's call it lastSaveContent), as of the last save, and compare it with the current text when the "autosave" function fires (on a timer) to see if it's different. However, I'm worried about how much memory that could take up with very large documents. Would it be more efficient to store some sort of hash in the lastSaveContent variable, instead of the entire string, and then compare the hash values? If so, can you recommend a good javascript library/jquery plugin that implements an appropriate hash for this requirement?

  I used to be visual basic 6 programmer, i was pleased with visual basic : it is high level language that do stuff fast,easy to learn, easy to do stuff in,you can drag and drop stuff to the form and write your code,it is simply amazing.however microsoft buried VB6 and pointed us to VB.NET which is so different that it is not the old VB anymore.I didn't like what microsoft did and would like to look somewhere AWAY from microsoft and from any other proprietary language . I would like to look into a similar language that is easy,cross platform (windows / Linux), object oriented, visual design, non proprietary and compile (for some guarding against reverse engineering). i am freelancer so the choice is entirely mine,i don't care about performance of programs, the time taken to develop a given programs is much more important. desktop / database / GUI /networking programming is what i am looking for. so any such language offered by our open source community ? thank you so much

How would I set up my validations such that both belongs_to associations are required BUT also allow for Registration objects to be created in nested forms?

  i'm using the following regular expression to form a basic email validation. var emailRegEx = /^([a-zA-Z0-9])(([a-zA-Z0-9])*([\._\+-])*([a-zA-Z0-9]))*@(([a-zA-Z0-9\-])+(\.))+([a-zA-Z]{2,4})+$/; this works pretty well for what i need but i also need to exclude these specific characters for reasons i won't go into. !,#,$,%,^,&,*,(,),-,+,|,{,},[,],:,>,<,?,/,\,= - (the characters between the "," if that isn't clear) could someone help me with adding the second group to the first? I know the pro's and cons of using javascript to validate email addresses - i have to do it this way. thanks.

• How can I get a set of radio buttons to accept NULL (nothing checked)?

  I'm working on a Rails application where I have some a set of two radio buttons where users can click "yes" or "no". The MySQL DB column created by the ActiveRecord migration is a tinyint. If the user doesn't click either radio button I want MySQL to store NULL. (The column allows NULL.) And when they come back to edit the data, neither button should be checked. What's happening is that ActiveRecord is storing 0 and then when I come back the "No" button is checked. Rails 2.3.5 Form code (I'm using Haml): = f.radio_button( :model_attribute, true ) Yes = f.radio_button( :model_attribute, false ) No (In retrospect it probably would have been better to use a single checkbox, but it would be difficult to change that now.)

• URL decoding Japanese characters etc. in Java

  I have a servlet that receives some POST data. Because this data is x-www-form-urlencoded, a string such as ???? would be encoded to &#12469;&#12508;&#12486;&#12531;. How would I unencode this string back to the correct characters? I have tried using URLDecoder.decode("encoded string", "UTF-8"); but it doesn't make a difference. The reason I would like to unencode them, is because, before I display this data on a webpage, I escape & to &amp; and at the moment, it is escaping the &s in the encoded string so the characters are not showing up properly.

• How to make dll referenced by ActiveX component accessible?

  I have an ActiveX component developed in C#. I'm referencing a dll which comes with other native dlls and it is loading them on the fly expecting them to be in the same folder (probably using Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location but not sure, I don't have control over them). There is also one ini file which is also expected to be in the same folder. When I run the application as Windows form app, everything is fine, of course. But the trouble comes when I run it within Internet Explorer as the base directory is at the location of iexplore.exe. Obviously neither the dlls or the ini file can be found and many temporary working files outputted by the dlls are located in Internet Explorer folder. The workaround is to copy all ddls and ini file into the ie folder but that is not something I'd be happy about. What is the proper solution to this? Can I somehow set the base path for the ActiveX component?

A bit of background: just practicing making a web app, a form on page 1 takes in some values from the user, posts them to the next page which contains the code to connect to the DB and populate the relevant tables. • "Remember" last three MySql queries; Cookie, passed variable or other method?

  I have a classified website, with pretty sophisticated searching, and I am about to implement a function where the last three queries is displayed for the user, so that the user can go back easier through the queries. This because for each query the user has to provide a lot of input. I have four questions for you: I wonder, how can I save the actual query (SELECT * FROM etc etc)...? Do I need to add some form of encryption to be on the safe side? How will this affect performance? (I don't like the fact that cookies slow websites down) Anything else to think about? • How do I make a DIV stay at the top of the screen no matter ow far down the page my visitor scrolls?

  What I'm saying is, I have some extremely long pages on my website, which can make it annoying I've my visitors need to scroll to the top of the page to be able to navigate to another page. I'm not quite sure what I would call this but any Google search that contains the words 'DIV' and 'float' come up with completely unrelated results... What I'm looking to do is create a DIV that stays at the top of the Screen (not to be confused with the page) so that if the user is at the bottom of the page, they can still see the navigation bar just floating at the top of the screen. What I can think of is to position the DIV relative to the position of the screen but I don't know how to code this. I'm happy to use JavaScript (preferably in the form of jQuery), but if you know how to do this using CSS, I would favour your response. This might help: I know a little bit of jQuery and JavaScript and I know a good deal of CSS and HTML. Thanks in advance.

Now my question is: Should i use a form to post my search string. If so, then which method should i use, GET or POST. OR, should i use javascript window.location method, and append the search string to it. If we use this method then search string can append more than once to url. Or any other best way to implement this. Can anybody give the best solution for this as it is a common task for each application to have.

• Postfix evaluation in C

  I’m taking a course in C and we have to make a program for the classic Postfix evaluation problem. Now, I’ve already completed this problem in java, so I know that we have to use a stack to push the numbers into, then pop them when we get an operator, I think I’m fine with all of that stuff. The problem I have been having is scanning the postfix expression in C. In java it was easier because you could use charAt and you could use the parseInt command. However, I’m not aware of any similar commands in C. So could anyone explain a method to read each value from a string in the form: 4 9 * 0 - = Where the equals is the signal of the end of the input. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance :)
