  • Using JavaScript to parse an XML file

    I am new to Stack OverFlow and coding in general. I am trying to take an XML file and render it in the browser using JavaScript. My .html file and .xml file are in the same folder, so I believe I have the correct file pathway. I could just be making a rookie mistake here, but I can't for the life of me figure out why a table listing the c_id and facebook_id values is not being created. I looked around for answers and haven't been able to find any. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I have a requirement where in I want to redirect to an external Url Here is my code in routes.rb map.connect "/myapp/:someparam" , :controller = "foocontroller" , :action = "redirect_to_external_url" In my foo controller i have this action def redirect_to_external_url redirect_to "http://externalurl.com/#{params[:someparam]}.html" end which will redirect to the external url The problem That I am facing is After redirecting, The browser shows "http://externalurl.com/bar.html whereas I want the browser to show "/myapp/bar" url (ex http://mydomain.com/myapp/bar) for seo purpose. Any idea on how this can be achieved in rails ? The Rails version that I am using is 2.3.4

I've built an app using Codeigniter and notice that they just have index.html pages with a 403 Forbidden message in all directories - is this a secure method to use? Is an index.html page in the directory sufficient or do I need to update config or .htaccess?

  • Why bubling not working

    I just want to understand how capturing and bubbling work. Unfortunately this code just work in IE, and not working in firefox. When i click on div3, it just stop there.it not bubling up toward body element.   • Directory.GetFiles returning entire path, I only want the filename?

    This is the code I have set up to scan a directory of files: Dim fileArray() As String fileArray = Directory.GetFiles(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory & "help\") And it successfully gets all files in the directory, but it gets their absolute paths aswell. For example, one of the entries in fileArray() is: F:\Project\Project\bin\x86\Debug\help\book_troubleshoot.html And I want it to just be: book_troubleshoot.html Is there a way to do this without parsing through all the array entries to trim off the path? Thanks.

I assume its somewhere under MBeans tab and the com.sun.management - HotSpotDiagnostic - Operations - setVMOptions ?

I tried putting a different placeholder for each tab, but that didn't fix everything either, since when loading "/Forums" it will sure load the forum tab, but the Blog tab will show up first. Furthermore, when using separate placeholders, If I load the "/Blogs" url, It will first load the content statically in the Blog contentplaceholder and then trigger an ajax call to load it a second time and replace it. If I just link the tab to the hashtag, then when loading the forum tabs, I won't get the blog content... How would you achieve the expected behaviour? I feel like I might have a deeper probelm in the organization of my views. Is putting the tabs in the masterpage the way to go? Maybe I should just hijax the links manually and not rely on jquery-ui tabs to do the work for me. I cannot load all tabs by default and display them using the hash tags, I need an ajax loading because it is a search process that can be long. So to sum up : /Forum should load the forum tab, and let the other tabs be loaded with an ajax call when clicking on it. /Twitter should load the twitter tab and let the other tabs.... the same goes for /Blogs and any tabs I would add later.

We have two sites: 1) Flex / Flash 2) HTML I think with Flex I can attempt to download http://youtube.com/crossdomain.xml and if it is valid XML assume the site is available But with HTML I dont know how to do it. I cant even think of a 'nice hack'

When I run the page outside of Simple Modal I can use Autocomplete, however when the page is loaded through Simple Modal it does not work.   • Using JSON Data to Populate a Google Map with Database Objects

    I'm revising this question after reading the resources mentioned in the original answers and working through implementing it. I'm using the google maps api to integrate a map into my Rails site. I have a markets model with the following columns: ID, name, address, lat, lng. On my markets/index view, I want to populate a map with all the markets in my markets table. I'm trying to output @markets as json data, and that's where I'm running into problems. I have the basic map displaying, but right now it's just a blank map. I'm following the tutorials very closely, but I can't get the markers to generate dynamically from the json. Any help is much appreciated! The thing is, i wish to distinguish between the content,title and date for each blog post. I might be able to get the date through regex, but there are so many custom scripts people are using now that the html classes and structure is so different.   • having trouble with zooming in android webview

I created two buttons for zoomin and zoomout using behind function zoomIn() & zoomOut() respectively. These functions work fine. The problenm is, when I zoom in, some of the text goes out from both top and bottom and it doesn't appear when I scroll. How can I resolve this?
