  • Fetch a specific tag from Rally in order to compute a value in another field

    - by 4jas
    I'm extremely new to Rally development so my question may sound dumb (but couldn't find how to do it from rally's help or from previous posts here) :) I've started from the rally freeform grid example - my purpose is to implement a Business Value calculator: I fill the score field with a 5-digit figure where each number is a score in the 1-5 range. Then I compute a business value as the result of a calculation, where each number is weighted by a preset weight. I can sort my stories by Business Value to help me prioritize my backlog: that's the first step, and it works. Now what I want to do is to make my freeform grid editable: I am extracting each of my digits as a separate column, but those columns are display-only. How can I turn them into something editable? What I want to do of course is update back the score field based on the values input in each custom column. Here's an example: I have a record with score "15254", which means Business Value criteria 1 scores 1 out of 5, Business Value criteria 2 scores 5 out of 5, and so on... In the end my Business Value is computed as "1*1 + 5*2 + 2*3 + 5*4 + 4*5 = 57". So far this is the part that works. Now let's say I found that the third criteria should not score 2 but 3, I want to be able to edit the value in the corresponding column and have my score field updated to "15354", and my Business Value to display 60 instead of 57. Here is my current code, I'll be really grateful if you can help me with turning that grid into something editable :) <!--Include SDK--> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://rally1.rallydev.com/apps/2.0p2/sdk-debug.js"></script> <!--App code--> <script type="text/javascript"> Rally.onReady(function() { Ext.define('BVApp', { extend: 'Rally.app.App', componentCls: 'app', launch: function() { Ext.create('Rally.data.WsapiDataStore', { model: 'UserStory', autoLoad: true, listeners: { load: this._onDataLoaded, scope: this } }); }, _onDataLoaded: function(store, data) { var records = []; var li_score; var li_bv1, li_bv2, li_bv3, li_bv4, li_bv5, li_bvtotal; var weights = new Array(1, 2, 3, 4, 5); Ext.Array.each(data, function(record) { //Let's fetch score and compute the business values... li_score = record.get('Score'); if (li_score) { li_bv1 = li_score.toString().substring(0,1); li_bv2 = li_score.toString().substring(1,2); li_bv3 = li_score.toString().substring(2,3); li_bv4 = li_score.toString().substring(3,4); li_bv5 = li_score.toString().substring(4,5); li_bvtotal = li_bv1*weights[0] + li_bv2*weights[1] + li_bv3*weights[2] + li_bv4*weights[3] + li_bv5*weights[4]; } records.push({ FormattedID: record.get('FormattedID'), ref: record.get('_ref'), Name: record.get('Name'), Score: record.get('Score'), Bv1: li_bv1, Bv2: li_bv2, Bv3: li_bv3, Bv4: li_bv4, Bv5: li_bv5, BvTotal: li_bvtotal }); }); this.add({ xtype: 'rallygrid', store: Ext.create('Rally.data.custom.Store', { data: records, pageSize: 5 }), columnCfgs: [ { text: 'FormattedID', dataIndex: 'FormattedID' }, { text: 'ref', dataIndex: 'ref' }, { text: 'Name', dataIndex: 'Name', flex: 1 }, { text: 'Score', dataIndex: 'Score' }, { text: 'BusVal 1', dataIndex: 'Bv1' }, { text: 'BusVal 2', dataIndex: 'Bv2' }, { text: 'BusVal 3', dataIndex: 'Bv3' }, { text: 'BusVal 4', dataIndex: 'Bv4' }, { text: 'BusVal 5', dataIndex: 'Bv5' }, { text: 'BusVal Total', dataIndex: 'BvTotal' } ] }); } }); Rally.launchApp('BVApp', { name: 'Business Values App' }); var exampleHtml = '<div id="example-intro"><h1>Business Values App</h1>' + '<div>Own sample app for Business Values</div>' + '</div>'; // Default app viewport uses layout: 'fit', // so we need to insert a container into the viewport var viewport = Ext.ComponentQuery.query('viewport')[0]; var appComponent = viewport.items.getAt(0); var viewportContainerItems = [{ html: exampleHtml, border: 0 }]; //hide advanced cardboard live previews in examples for now viewportContainerItems.push({ xtype: 'container', items: [appComponent] }); viewport.remove(appComponent, false); viewport.add({ xtype: 'container', layout: 'vbox', items: viewportContainerItems }); }); </script> <!--App styles--> <style type="text/css"> .app { /* Add app styles here */ } </style>

  • Lua metatable Objects cannot be purge from memory?

    - by Prometheus3k
    Hi there, I'm using a proprietary platform that reported memory usage in realtime on screen. I decided to use a Class.lua I found on http://lua-users.org/wiki/SimpleLuaClasses However, I noticed memory issues when purging object created by this using a simple Account class. Specifically, I would start with say 146k of memory used, create 1000 objects of a class that just holds an integer instance variable and store each object into a table. The memory used is now 300k I would then exit, iterating through the table and setting each element in the table to nil. But would never get back the 146k, usually after this I am left using 210k or something similar. If I run the load sequence again during the same session, it does not exceed 300k so it is not a memory leak. I have tried creating 1000 integers in a table and setting these to nil, which does give me back 146k. In addition I've tried a simpler class file (Account2.lua) that doesn't rely on a class.lua. This still incurs memory fragmentation but not as much as the one that uses Class.lua Can anybody explain what is going on here? How can I purge these objects and get back the memory? here is the code --------Class.lua------ -- class.lua -- Compatible with Lua 5.1 (not 5.0). --http://lua-users.org/wiki/SimpleLuaClasses function class(base,ctor) local c = {} -- a new class instance if not ctor and type(base) == 'function' then ctor = base base = nil elseif type(base) == 'table' then -- our new class is a shallow copy of the base class! for i,v in pairs(base) do c[i] = v end c._base = base end -- the class will be the metatable for all its objects, -- and they will look up their methods in it. c.__index = c -- expose a ctor which can be called by () local mt = {} mt.__call = function(class_tbl,...) local obj = {} setmetatable(obj,c) if ctor then ctor(obj,...) else -- make sure that any stuff from the base class is initialized! if base and base.init then base.init(obj,...) end end return obj end c.init = ctor c.instanceOf = function(self,klass) local m = getmetatable(self) while m do if m == klass then return true end m = m._base end return false end setmetatable(c,mt) return c end --------Account.lua------ --Import Class template require 'class' local classname = "Account" --Declare class Constructor Account = class(function(acc,balance) --Instance variables declared here. if(balance ~= nil)then acc.balance = balance else --default value acc.balance = 2097 end acc.classname = classname end) --------Account2.lua------ local account2 = {} account2.classname = "unnamed" account2.balance = 2097 -----------Constructor 1 do local metatable = { __index = account2; } function Account2() return setmetatable({}, metatable); end end --------Main.lua------ require 'Account' require 'Account2' MAX_OBJ = 5000; test_value = 1000; Obj_Table = {}; MODE_ACC0 = 0 --integers MODE_ACC1 = 1 --Account MODE_ACC2 = 2 --Account2 TEST_MODE = MODE_ACC0; Lua_mem = ""; print("##1) collectgarbage('count'): " .. collectgarbage('count')); function Load() for i=1, MAX_OBJ do if(TEST_MODE == MODE_ACC0 )then table.insert(Obj_Table, test_value); elseif(TEST_MODE == MODE_ACC1 )then table.insert(Obj_Table, Account(test_value)); --Account.lua elseif(TEST_MODE == MODE_ACC2 )then table.insert(Obj_Table, Account2()); --Account2.lua Obj_Table[i].balance = test_value; end end print("##2) collectgarbage('count'): " .. collectgarbage('count')); end function Purge() --metatable purge if(TEST_MODE ~= MODE_ACC0)then --purge stage 0: print("set each elements metatable to nil") for i=1, MAX_OBJ do setmetatable(Obj_Table[i], nil); end end --purge stage 1: print("set table element to nil") for i=1, MAX_OBJ do Obj_Table[i] = nil; end --purge stage 2: print("start table.remove..."); for i=1, MAX_OBJ do table.remove(Obj_Table, i); end print("...end table.remove"); --purge stage 3: print("create new object_table {}"); Obj_Table= {}; --purge stage 4: print("collectgarbage('collect')"); collectgarbage('collect'); print("##3) collectgarbage('count'): " .. collectgarbage('count')); end --Loop callback function OnUpdate() collectgarbage('collect'); Lua_mem = collectgarbage('count'); end ------------------- --NOTE: --On start of game runs Load(), another runs Purge() --Update I've updated the code with suggestions from comments below, and will post my findings later today.

  • Custom Memory Allocator for STL map

    - by Prasoon Tiwari
    This question is about construction of instances of custom allocator during insertion into a std::map. Here is a custom allocator for std::map<int,int> along with a small program that uses it: #include <stddef.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <map> #include <typeinfo> class MyPool { public: void * GetNext() { return malloc(24); } void Free(void *ptr) { free(ptr); } }; template<typename T> class MyPoolAlloc { public: static MyPool *pMyPool; typedef size_t size_type; typedef ptrdiff_t difference_type; typedef T* pointer; typedef const T* const_pointer; typedef T& reference; typedef const T& const_reference; typedef T value_type; template<typename X> struct rebind { typedef MyPoolAlloc<X> other; }; MyPoolAlloc() throw() { printf("-------Alloc--CONSTRUCTOR--------%08x %32s\n", this, typeid(T).name()); } MyPoolAlloc(const MyPoolAlloc&) throw() { printf(" Copy Constructor ---------------%08x %32s\n", this, typeid(T).name()); } template<typename X> MyPoolAlloc(const MyPoolAlloc<X>&) throw() { printf(" Construct T Alloc from X Alloc--%08x %32s %32s\n", this, typeid(T).name(), typeid(X).name()); } ~MyPoolAlloc() throw() { printf(" Destructor ---------------------%08x %32s\n", this, typeid(T).name()); }; pointer address(reference __x) const { return &__x; } const_pointer address(const_reference __x) const { return &__x; } pointer allocate(size_type __n, const void * hint = 0) { if (__n != 1) perror("MyPoolAlloc::allocate: __n is not 1.\n"); if (NULL == pMyPool) { pMyPool = new MyPool(); printf("======>Creating a new pool object.\n"); } return reinterpret_cast<T*>(pMyPool->GetNext()); } //__p is not permitted to be a null pointer void deallocate(pointer __p, size_type __n) { pMyPool->Free(reinterpret_cast<void *>(__p)); } size_type max_size() const throw() { return size_t(-1) / sizeof(T); } void construct(pointer __p, const T& __val) { printf("+++++++ %08x %s.\n", __p, typeid(T).name()); ::new(__p) T(__val); } void destroy(pointer __p) { printf("-+-+-+- %08x.\n", __p); __p->~T(); } }; template<typename T> inline bool operator==(const MyPoolAlloc<T>&, const MyPoolAlloc<T>&) { return true; } template<typename T> inline bool operator!=(const MyPoolAlloc<T>&, const MyPoolAlloc<T>&) { return false; } template<typename T> MyPool* MyPoolAlloc<T>::pMyPool = NULL; int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { std::map<int, int, std::less<int>, MyPoolAlloc<std::pair<const int,int> > > m; //random insertions in the map m.insert(std::pair<int,int>(1,2)); m[5] = 7; m[8] = 11; printf("======>End of map insertions.\n"); return 0; } Here is the output of this program: -------Alloc--CONSTRUCTOR--------bffcdaa6 St4pairIKiiE Construct T Alloc from X Alloc--bffcda77 St13_Rb_tree_nodeISt4pairIKiiEE St4pairIKiiE Copy Constructor ---------------bffcdad8 St13_Rb_tree_nodeISt4pairIKiiEE Destructor ---------------------bffcda77 St13_Rb_tree_nodeISt4pairIKiiEE Destructor ---------------------bffcdaa6 St4pairIKiiE ======Creating a new pool object. If you wish to run it on a 64-bit machine, you'll have to change at least the line return malloc(24). Changing to return malloc(48) should work.

  • System.Timers.Timer leaking due to "direct delegate roots"

    - by alimbada
    Apologies for the rather verbose and long-winded post, but this problem's been perplexing me for a few weeks now so I'm posting as much information as I can in order to get this resolved quickly. We have a WPF UserControl which is being loaded by a 3rd party app. The 3rd party app is a presentation application which loads and unloads controls on a schedule defined by an XML file which is downloaded from a server. Our control, when it is loaded into the application makes a web request to a web service and uses the data from the response to display some information. We're using an MVVM architecture for the control. The entry point of the control is a method that is implementing an interface exposed by the main app and this is where the control's configuration is set up. This is also where I set the DataContext of our control to our MainViewModel. The MainViewModel has two other view models as properties and the main UserControl has two child controls. Depending on the data received from the web service, the main UserControl decides which child control to display, e.g. if there is a HTTP error or the data received is not valid, then display child control A, otherwise display child control B. As you'd expect, these two child controls bind two separate view models each of which is a property of MainViewModel. Now child control B (which is displayed when the data is valid) has a RefreshService property/field. RefreshService is an object that is responsible for updating the model in a number of ways and contains 4 System.Timers.Timers; a _modelRefreshTimer a _viewRefreshTimer a _pageSwitchTimer a _retryFeedRetrievalOnErrorTimer (this is only enabled when something goes wrong with retrieving data). I should mention at this point that there are two types of data; the first changes every minute, the second changes every few hours. The controls' configuration decides which type we are using/displaying. If data is of the first type then we update the model quite frequently (every 30 seconds) using the _modelRefreshTimer's events. If the data is of the second type then we update the model after a longer interval. However, the view still needs to be refreshed every 30 seconds as stale data needs to be removed from the view (hence the _viewRefreshTimer). The control also paginates the data so we can see more than we can fit on the display area. This works by breaking the data up into Lists and switching the CurrentPage (which is a List) property of the view model to the right List. This is done by handling the _pageSwitchTimer's Elapsed event. Now the problem My problem is that the control, when removed from the visual tree doesn't dispose of it's timers. This was first noticed when we started getting an unusually high number of requests on the web server end very soon after deploying this control and found that requests were being made at least once a second! We found that the timers were living on and not stopping hours after the control had been removed from view and that the more timers there were the more requests piled up at the web server. My first solution was to implement IDisposable for the RefreshService and do some clean up when the control's UnLoaded event was fired. Within the RefreshServices Dispose method I've set Enabled to false for all the timers, then used the Stop() method on all of them. I've then called Dispose() too and set them to null. None of this worked. After some reading around I found that event handlers may hold references to Timers and prevent them from being disposed and collected. After some more reading and researching I found that the best way around this was to use the Weak Event Pattern. Using this blog and this blog I've managed to work around the shortcomings in the Weak Event pattern. However, none of this solves the problem. Timers are still not being disabled or stopped (let alone disposed) and web requests are continuing to build up. Mem Profiler tells me that "This type has N instances that are directly rooted by a delegate. This can indicate the delegate has not been properly removed" (where N is the number of instances). As far as I can tell though, all listeners of the Elapsed event for the timers are being removed during the cleanup so I can't understand why the timers continue to run. Thanks for reading. Eagerly awaiting your suggestions/comments/solutions (if you got this far :-p)

  • nivo slider and drop down menu doesnt work in IE

    Does anyone has any idea why drop down menu in IE disappear under nivo slider? tried to play with z-index, didn't help, i also know that drop down menus dissappear under flash content, but this is not the case(wmode=transparent) as far as i know the nivo slider uses just jquery, no flash. here is the html: <table> <tr height="50"><td colspan="2" align="right" class="bottom_menu"> <ul id="nav" class="dropdown dropdown-horizontal" > <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.logout" class="dir" style="border:0 !important;" >Çikis</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_basket" class="dir">Sepetim</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.me" class="dir">Sirketim</a> <ul> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_opportunities">Firsatlar</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.form_add_partner">Sirkete Kullanici Ekle</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.form_upd_my_company">Kullanici Yönetimi</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_analyses">Analizler</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.list_extre">Hesap Ekstresi</a></li> <li><a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.popup_add_online_pos" target="_blank">Sanal Pos</a></li> </ul> </li> </ul> </td></tr> </table> <div id="banner"> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/l_top.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; left:0; top:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/r_top.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; right:0; top:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/l_bottom.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; left:0; bottom:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/r_bottom.gif" style="z-index:1;position:absolute; right:0; bottom:0;" width="24px" height="24px" border="0" /> <div class="banner_img"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/nivo-slider.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <div id="slider" class="nivoSlider"> <img title="#1" src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/canon.jpg" alt="" /> <img title="#2" src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/indigovision.jpg" alt="" /> </div> <div id="1" class="nivo-html-caption"> <a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.detail_product&product_id=612&stock_id=612"><img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/daha_fazlasi.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div> <div id="2" class="nivo-html-caption"> <a href="/index.cfm?fuseaction=objects2.detail_product&product_id=630&stock_id=630"><img src="/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/daha_fazlasi.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div> <script type="text/javascript" src="/JS/jquery.nivo.slider.pack.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(window).load(function() { $('#slider').nivoSlider({ effect:'random', //Specify sets like: 'fold,fade,sliceDown' slices:15, animSpeed:1000, //Slide transition speed pauseTime:10000, startSlide:0, //Set starting Slide (0 index) directionNav:true, //Next & Prev directionNavHide:true, //Only show on hover controlNav:true, //1,2,3... controlNavThumbs:false, //Use thumbnails for Control Nav controlNavThumbsFromRel:false, //Use image rel for thumbs controlNavThumbsSearch: '.jpg', //Replace this with... controlNavThumbsReplace: '_thumb.jpg', //...this in thumb Image src keyboardNav:true, //Use left & right arrows pauseOnHover:true, //Stop animation while hovering manualAdvance:false, //Force manual transitions captionOpacity:1.0, //Universal caption opacity beforeChange: function(){}, afterChange: function(){}, slideshowEnd: function(){}, //Triggers after all slides have been shown lastSlide: function(){}, //Triggers when last slide is shown afterLoad: function(){} //Triggers when slider has loaded }); }); </script> </div> </div> Here is css for dropdown menu: http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/default.css http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/default.advanced.css http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/dropdown.css and for nivo slider: http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/style.css http://www.micae.com/documents/templates/projedepo/banner/nivo-slider.css and for banner divs: #banner { position:relative; width:980px; height:435px; background:#fff; margin-bottom:20px; margin-top:-1px; color:#000; z-index:60; } .banner_img { padding:8px;position:absolute;z-index:2; } and the javascript by default, jquery and nivo slider http://www.micae.com/JS/jquery.nivo.slider.pack.js

  • C++ Sentinel/Count Controlled Loop beginning programming

    - by Bryan Hendricks
    Hello all this is my first post. I'm working on a homework assignment with the following parameters. Piecework Workers are paid by the piece. Often worker who produce a greater quantity of output are paid at a higher rate. 1 - 199 pieces completed $0.50 each 200 - 399 $0.55 each (for all pieces) 400 - 599 $0.60 each 600 or more $0.65 each Input: For each worker, input the name and number of pieces completed. Name Pieces Johnny Begood 265 Sally Great 650 Sam Klutz 177 Pete Precise 400 Fannie Fantastic 399 Morrie Mellow 200 Output: Print an appropriate title and column headings. There should be one detail line for each worker, which shows the name, number of pieces, and the amount earned. Compute and print totals of the number of pieces and the dollar amount earned. Processing: For each person, compute the pay earned by multiplying the number of pieces by the appropriate price. Accumulate the total number of pieces and the total dollar amount paid. Sample Program Output: Piecework Weekly Report Name Pieces Pay Johnny Begood 265 145.75 Sally Great 650 422.50 Sam Klutz 177 88.5 Pete Precise 400 240.00 Fannie Fantastic 399 219.45 Morrie Mellow 200 110.00 Totals 2091 1226.20 You are required to code, compile, link, and run a sentinel-controlled loop program that transforms the input to the output specifications as shown in the above attachment. The input items should be entered into a text file named piecework1.dat and the ouput file stored in piecework1.out . The program filename is piecework1.cpp. Copies of these three files should be e-mailed to me in their original form. Read the name using a single variable as opposed to two different variables. To accomplish this, you must use the getline(stream, variable) function as discussed in class, except that you will replace the cin with your textfile stream variable name. Do not forget to code the compiler directive #include < string at the top of your program to acknowledge the utilization of the string variable, name . Your nested if-else statement, accumulators, count-controlled loop, should be properly designed to process the data correctly. The code below will run, but does not produce any output. I think it needs something around line 57 like a count control to stop the loop. something like (and this is just an example....which is why it is not in the code.) count = 1; while (count <=4) Can someone review the code and tell me what kind of count I need to introduce, and if there are any other changes that need to be made. Thanks. [code] //COS 502-90 //November 2, 2012 //This program uses a sentinel-controlled loop that transforms input to output. #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include <iomanip> //output formatting #include <string> //string variables using namespace std; int main() { double pieces; //number of pieces made double rate; //amout paid per amount produced double pay; //amount earned string name; //name of worker ifstream inFile; ofstream outFile; //***********input statements**************************** inFile.open("Piecework1.txt"); //opens the input text file outFile.open("piecework1.out"); //opens the output text file outFile << setprecision(2) << showpoint; outFile << name << setw(6) << "Pieces" << setw(12) << "Pay" << endl; outFile << "_____" << setw(6) << "_____" << setw(12) << "_____" << endl; getline(inFile, name, '*'); //priming read inFile >> pieces >> pay >> rate; // ,, while (name != "End of File") //while condition test { //begining of loop pay = pieces * rate; getline(inFile, name, '*'); //get next name inFile >> pieces; //get next pieces } //end of loop inFile.close(); outFile.close(); return 0; }[/code]

  • Swing object: first setText() gets "stuck" when using Mac Java SE 6

    - by Tim
    Hi there, I am a Java newbie trying to maintain an application that works fine under J2SE 5.0 (32- and 64-bit) but has a very specific problem when run under Java SE 6 64-bit: [Tims-MPB:~] tlynch% java -version java version "1.6.0_15" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03-226) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.1-b02-92, mixed mode) The application is cross-platform and reportedly works correctly on Java SE 6 under Windows, though I haven't been able to verify that myself. The program uses a JTextField for some text entry and a JLabel to indicate the text to be entered. The first time the showDialog() method is called to set the label text and display the dialog, it works correctly, but subsequent calls all result in the display of the label from the initial invocation rather than the one most recently specified via setText(). public void showDialog(String msgText) { System.out.println("set ChatDialog: " + msgText); jLabel1.setText(msgText); jLabel1.repaint(); // I added this; it didn't help System.out.println("get ChatDialog: " + jLabel1.getText()); super.setVisible(true); } [the full text of the class is provided below] The added printlns validate that expected text is passed to the label's setText() method and is confirmed by retrieving it using getText(), but what shows up on the screen/GUI is always the text from the very first time the method was called for the object. A similar issue is observed with a JTextArea used to label another dialog box. These problem are consistent across multiple Mac systems running Java SE 6 under OS 10.5.x and 10.6.x, but they are never observed when one reverts to J2SE 5.0. If there is some background information pertinent to this problem that I have omitted, please let me know. • Access violation using LocalAlloc()

    - by PaulH
    I have a Visual Studio 2008 Windows Mobile 6 C++ application that is using an API that requires the use of LocalAlloc(). To make my life easier, I created an implementation of a standard allocator that uses LocalAlloc() internally: /// Standard library allocator implementation using LocalAlloc and LocalReAlloc /// to create a dynamically-sized array. /// Memory allocated by this allocator is never deallocated. That is up to the /// user. template< class T, int max_allocations > class LocalAllocator { public: typedef T value_type; typedef size_t size_type; typedef ptrdiff_t difference_type; typedef T* pointer; typedef const T* const_pointer; typedef T& reference; typedef const T& const_reference; pointer address( reference r ) const { return &r; }; const_pointer address( const_reference r ) const { return &r; }; LocalAllocator() throw() : c_( NULL ) { }; /// Attempt to allocate a block of storage with enough space for n elements /// of type T. n>=1 && n<=max_allocations. /// If memory cannot be allocated, a std::bad_alloc() exception is thrown. pointer allocate( size_type n, const void* /*hint*/ = 0 ) { if( NULL == c_ ) { c_ = LocalAlloc( LPTR, sizeof( T ) * n ); } else { HLOCAL c = LocalReAlloc( c_, sizeof( T ) * n, LHND ); if( NULL == c ) LocalFree( c_ ); c_ = c; } if( NULL == c_ ) throw std::bad_alloc(); return reinterpret_cast< T* >( c_ ); }; /// Normally, this would release a block of previously allocated storage. /// Since that's not what we want, this function does nothing. void deallocate( pointer /*p*/, size_type /*n*/ ) { // no deallocation is performed. that is up to the user. }; /// maximum number of elements that can be allocated size_type max_size() const throw() { return max_allocations; }; private: /// current allocation point HLOCAL c_; }; // class LocalAllocator My application is using that allocator implementation in a std::vector< #define MAX_DIRECTORY_LISTING 512 std::vector< WIN32_FIND_DATA, LocalAllocator< WIN32_FIND_DATA, MAX_DIRECTORY_LISTING > > file_list; WIN32_FIND_DATA find_data = { 0 }; HANDLE find_file = ::FindFirstFile( folder.c_str(), &find_data ); if( NULL != find_file ) { do { // access violation here on the 257th item. file_list.push_back( find_data ); } while ( ::FindNextFile( find_file, &find_data ) ); ::FindClose( find_file ); } // data submitted to the API that requires LocalAlloc()'d array of WIN32_FIND_DATA structures SubmitData( &file_list.front() ); On the 257th item added to the vector<, the application crashes with an access violation: Data Abort: Thread=8e1b0400 Proc=8031c1b0 'rapiclnt' AKY=00008001 PC=03f9e3c8(coredll.dll+0x000543c8) RA=03f9ff04(coredll.dll+0x00055f04) BVA=21ae0020 FSR=00000007 First-chance exception at 0x03f9e3c8 in rapiclnt.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x01ae0020.   • std::vector optimisation required

    - by marcp
    I've written a routine that uses std::vector<double> rather heavily. It runs rather slowly and AQTime seems to imply that I am constructing mountains of vectors but I'm not sure why I would be. For some context, my sample run iterates 10 times. Each iteration copies 3 c arrays of ~400 points into vectors and creates 3 new same sized vectors for output. Each output point might be the result of summing up to 20 points from 2 of the input vectors, which works out to a worst case of 10*400*3*2*20 = 480,000 dereferences. Incredibly the profiler indicates that some of the std:: methods are being called 46 MILLION times. I suspect I'm doing something wrong! Some code: vector<double>gdbChannel::GetVector() { if (fHaveDoubleData & (fLength > 0)) { double * pD = getDoublePointer(); vector<double>v(pD, pD + fLength); return v; } else { throw(Exception("attempt to retrieve vector on empty line")); ; } } void gdbChannel::SaveVector(GX_HANDLE _hLine, const vector<double> & V) { if (hLine != _hLine) { GetLine(_hLine, V.size(), true); } GX_DOUBLE * pData = getDoublePointer(); memcpy(pData, &V[0], V.size()*sizeof(V[0])); ReplaceData(); } ///This routine gets called 10 times bool SpecRatio::DoWork(GX_HANDLE_PTR pLine) { if (!(hKin.GetLine(*pLine, true) && hUin.GetLine(*pLine, true) && hTHin.GetLine(*pLine, true))) { return true; } vector<double>vK = hKin.GetVector(); vector<double>vU = hUin.GetVector(); vector<double>vTh = hTHin.GetVector(); if ((vK.size() == 0) || (vU.size() == 0) || (vTh.size() == 0)) { return true; } ///TODO: confirm all vectors the same lenghth len = vK.size(); vUK.clear(); // these 3 vectors are declared as private class members vUTh.clear(); vThK.clear(); vUK.reserve(len); vUTh.reserve(len); vThK.reserve(len); // TODO: ensure everything is same fidincr, fidstart and length for (int i = 0; i < len; i++) { if (vK.at(i) < MinK) { vUK.push_back(rDUMMY); vUTh.push_back(rDUMMY); vThK.push_back(rDUMMY); } else { vUK.push_back(RatioPoint(vU, vK, i, UMin, KMin)); vUTh.push_back(RatioPoint(vU, vTh, i, UMin, ThMin)); vThK.push_back(RatioPoint(vTh, vK, i, ThMin, KMin)); } } hUKout.setFidParams(hKin); hUKout.SaveVector(*pLine, vUK); hUTHout.setFidParams(hKin); hUTHout.SaveVector(*pLine, vUTh); hTHKout.setFidParams(hKin); hTHKout.SaveVector(*pLine, vThK); return TestError(); } double SpecRatio::VValue(vector<double>V, int Index) { double result; if ((Index < 0) || (Index >= len)) { result = 0; } else { try { result = V.at(Index); if (OasisUtils::isDummy(result)) { result = 0; } } catch (out_of_range) { result = 0; } } return result; } double SpecRatio::RatioPoint(vector<double>Num, vector<double>Denom, int Index, double NumMin, double DenomMin) { double num = VValue(Num, Index); double denom = VValue(Denom, Index); int s = 0; // Search equalled 10 in this case while (((num < NumMin) || (denom < DenomMin)) && (s < Search)) { num += VValue(Num, Index - s) + VValue(Num, Index + s); denom += VValue(Denom, Index - s) + VValue(Denom, Index + s); s++; } if ((num < NumMin) || (denom < DenomMin)) { return rDUMMY; } else { return num / denom; } } The top AQTime offenders are: std::_Uninit_copy , double *, std::allocator 3.65 secs and 115731 Hits std::_Construct 1.69 secs and 46450637 Hits std::_Vector_const_iterator ::operator !=1.66 secs and 46566395 Hits and so on... std::allocator<double>::construct, operator new, std::_Vector_const_iterator<double, std::allocator<double> >::operator ++, std::_Vector_const_iterator<double, std::allocator<double> >::operator * std::_Vector_const_iterator<double, std::allocator<double> >::operator == each get called over 46 million times. I'm obviously doing something wrong to cause all these objects to be created. Can anyone see my error(s)?

  • PHP: How to automate building a 100 <UL>/<LI> menuitems, while keeping the Menu Structure File Flat / Simply Managable?

    - by Sam
    Above: current "stupid" menu. (entire ul/li menu for javascript menu system) + (some li lines as page-specific submenu) Hi folks! With passion for automation and elegancy, but limited knowledge/knowhow, im stuck with "my hands in my hair" as we Dutch say, for my current menu system works perfectly, but is a pain in the a*s to update! So, i would appreciate it greatly, if you can suggest how to automate this in php: how to let the php generate the html menu code basing on a flat menu input file with TABS indented. OLD SITUATION <ul> <!-- about 100 of these <li>....</li> lines --> <li><a href="carrot.php"><p class="mnu" style="background-position:0 -820px"><? echo __("carrot juice") ?></p></a></li> <!-- lots of data, with only little bit thats really the menu itself--> </ul a javascript file reads a ul/li structure as input to build menu of format in that ul/li, the items with a hyperlink and sprite-bg position represent webpages, (inside LI) while items without hyperlink and sprite-bg are just headers of that menusection, (inside H6) to highlight the current page in the menu, the javascript menumaker uses an id number. this number corresponds to the consequtive li that is a webpage, skips h6 headers correctly. these h6 headers are only there for when importing sections of the same menu as submenu. non-li headers are not shown in menu, nore counted by the javascript menu for their ID. to know which page should be shown, i have to count from ID 0, the li items till finding the current webpage in the li structure and then manually put it in each webpage! BUT: changing an item in li order, means stupidly re-counting their entire li again! each webpage has an icon (= sprite bg-position numer), which is also used in the webpage. INTENDED RESULT I dream of, once setting what the current webpage is (e.g carrot.php) the menu system automatically "finds" and "counts" the li's and returns the id nr (for proper highlight of main menu); generates the entire menu html, and depending on which headings are set for submenu, (e.g. meals, drinks) generates those submenu (entire section below each given header); ginally adds h5 highlight inside the li of that submenu item. For the menu, i wish an easily readable, simple plain txt menu that is indented with tabs, (each tab is one depth for example) and further tabs follow for url and sprite position of icon. MY DREAM MENU-MANAGEMENT FILE |>TAB SEPARATED/INDENTED FLATMENU FILE |MUST BE CALCULATED BY PHP: |>MENUTEXT============URL=============SPRITE=====|ID===TAG================== |>about "#" -520 |00 li |> INFORMATION |—— h6 |> physical state "physical.php" -920 |01 li |> mental health "mental.php" -10 |02 li |> |>apetite "#" -1290 |03 li |> meals "#" -600 |04 li |> COLD MEAL |—— h6 |> egg salade "salad.php" -1040 |05 li |> salmon fish "salmon.php" -540 |06 li |> HOT MEAL |—— h6 |> spare ribs "spareribs.php" -120 |07 li |> di macaroni "macaroni.php" -870 |08 li |> |> drinks "#" -230 |09 li |> JUCY DRINK |—— h6 |> carrot juice "carrot.php" -820 |10 li |> mango hive "mango.php" -270 |11 li DESIRED CHRONOLOGY php outputs the entire ul/li html so the javascript can show the menu: webpage items go inside li tags, and header items go inside h6 tags, e.g. <h6>JUCY DRINK</h6> Each website page has a url filename [eg: salad.php]. Based on this given fact, the php menu generator detects the pagename, gives the IDnr of the position of that page according to the li-item nr and sets variable for javascript to highlight current menu item. the menu items below the specified headers are loaded as submenu in which the current page.php is wrapped inside h5 to highlight current page in submenu: e.g. (<li><h5><a href="carrot.php"><p>..etc..</p></h5></li> Question Which methods / steps / (chronological)ways are there for doing this? I am no good in php programming, but am learning it so please dont write any code without a line of comment why I should use that method etc. Where do I start? If I am unclear in my question, please ask. Thanks. Much appreciated!! Concrete Task List from the provided Comments/Answers, sofar: (RobertB) First, get some PHP code working that can read through a tab-delimited file and put the data into an appropriate data structure. • How can I map "insert='false' update='false'" on a composite-id key-property which is also used in a one-to-many FK?

    - by Gweebz
    I am working on a legacy code base with an existing DB schema. The existing code uses SQL and PL/SQL to execute queries on the DB. We have been tasked with making a small part of the project database-engine agnostic (at first, change everything eventually). We have chosen to use Hibernate 3.3.2.GA and "*.hbm.xml" mapping files (as opposed to annotations). Unfortunately, it is not feasible to change the existing schema because we cannot regress any legacy features. The problem I am encountering is when I am trying to map a uni-directional, one-to-many relationship where the FK is also part of a composite PK. Here are the classes and mapping file... CompanyEntity.java public class CompanyEntity { private Integer id; private Set<CompanyNameEntity> names; ... } CompanyNameEntity.java public class CompanyNameEntity implements Serializable { private Integer id; private String languageId; private String name; ... } CompanyNameEntity.hbm.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/dtd/hibernate/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping package="com.example"> <class name="com.example.CompanyEntity" table="COMPANY"> <id name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <set name="names" table="COMPANY_NAME" cascade="all-delete-orphan" fetch="join" batch-size="1" lazy="false"> <key column="COMPANY_ID"/> <one-to-many entity-name="vendorName"/> </set> </class> <class entity-name="companyName" name="com.example.CompanyNameEntity" table="COMPANY_NAME"> <composite-id> <key-property name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <key-property name="languageId" column="LANGUAGE_ID"/> </composite-id> <property name="name" column="NAME" length="255"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> This code works just fine for SELECT and INSERT of a Company with names. I encountered a problem when I tried to update and existing record. I received a BatchUpdateException and after looking through the SQL logs I saw Hibernate was trying to do something stupid... update COMPANY_NAME set COMPANY_ID=null where COMPANY_ID=? Hibernate was trying to dis-associate child records before updating them. The problem is that this field is part of the PK and not-nullable. I found the quick solution to make Hibernate not do this is to add "not-null='true'" to the "key" element in the parent mapping. SO now may mapping looks like this... CompanyNameEntity.hbm.xml <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mapping PUBLIC "-//Hibernate/Hibernate Mapping DTD 3.0//EN" "http://www.jboss.org/dtd/hibernate/hibernate-mapping-3.0.dtd"> <hibernate-mapping package="com.example"> <class name="com.example.CompanyEntity" table="COMPANY"> <id name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <set name="names" table="COMPANY_NAME" cascade="all-delete-orphan" fetch="join" batch-size="1" lazy="false"> <key column="COMPANY_ID" not-null="true"/> <one-to-many entity-name="vendorName"/> </set> </class> <class entity-name="companyName" name="com.example.CompanyNameEntity" table="COMPANY_NAME"> <composite-id> <key-property name="id" column="COMPANY_ID"/> <key-property name="languageId" column="LANGUAGE_ID"/> </composite-id> <property name="name" column="NAME" length="255"/> </class> </hibernate-mapping> This mapping gives the exception... org.hibernate.MappingException: Repeated column in mapping for entity: companyName column: COMPANY_ID (should be mapped with insert="false" update="false") My problem now is that I have tryed to add these attributes to the key-property element but that is not supported by the DTD. I have also tryed changing it to a key-many-to-one element but that didn't work either. So... How can I map "insert='false' update='false'" on a composite-id key-property which is also used in a one-to-many FK?

    Ok, so once upon a time, my code worked. Since then I did some refactoring (basic stuff so I thought) but now I'm getting a null reference exception, and I can't bloody well figure out why. Here's where it starts. note, this is the logout method, but all of my ActivityLogs sections are throwing this error Function LogOut(ByVal go As String) As ActionResult ActivityLogService.AddActivity(AuthenticationHelper.RetrieveAuthUser.ID, _ IActivityLogService.LogType.UserLogout, _ HttpContext.Request.UserHostAddress) ActivityLogService.SubmitChanges() ''# more stuff happens after this End Function The service is pretty straight forward (notice the ERROR THROWN HERE) Public Sub AddActivity(ByVal userid As Integer, ByVal activity As Integer, ByVal ip As String) Implements IActivityLogService.AddActivity Dim _activity As ActivityLog = New ActivityLog With {.Activity = activity, .UserID = userid, .UserIP = ip.IPAddressToNumber, .ActivityDate = DateTime.UtcNow} ActivityLogRepository.Create(_activity) ''#ERROR THROWN HERE End Sub And the Interface that the Service uses looks like this Public Interface IActivityLogService Sub AddActivity(ByVal userid As Integer, ByVal activity As Integer, ByVal ip As String) Function GetUsersLastActivity(ByVal UserID As Integer) As ActivityLog Sub SubmitChanges() ''' <summary> ''' The type of activity done by the user ''' </summary> ''' <remarks>Each int refers to an activity. • The impossible inline Javascript delay/sleep

    - by trex005
    There is a JavaScript function, of which I have zero control of the code, which calls a function that I wrote. My function uses DOM to generate an iFrame, defines it's src and then appends it to another DOM element. However, before my function returns, and thus allows continued execution of the containing function, it is imperative that the iFrame be fully loaded. Here are the things that I have tried and why they do not work : 1. The SetTimeout option : 99.999% of the time, this is THE answer. As a matter of fact, in the past decade that I have been mentoring in JavaScript, I have always insisted that code could always be refactored to use this option, and never believed a scenario existed where that was not the case. Well, I finally found one! The problem is that because my function is being called inline, if the very next line is executed before my iFrame finishes loading, it totally neuters my script, and since the moment my script completes, the external script continues. A callback of sorts will not work 2. The "Do nothing" loop :This option you use while(//iFrame is not loaded){//do nothing}. In theory this would not return until the frame is loaded. The problem is that since this hogs all the resources, the iFrame never loads. This trick, although horribly unprofessional, dirty etc. will work when you just need an inline delay, but since I require an external thread to complete, it will not.In FF, after a few seconds, it pauses the script and an alert pops up stating that there is an unresponsive script. While that alert is up, the iFrame is able to load, and then my function is able to return, but having the browser frozen for 10 seconds, and then requiring the user to correctly dismiss an error is a no go. 3. The model dialogue : I was inspired by the fact that the FF popup allowed the iFrame to load while halting the execution of the function, and thinking about it, I realized that it is because the modal dialogue, is a way of halting execution yet allowing other threads to continue! Brilliant, so I decided to try other modal options. Things like alert() work beautifully! When it pops up, even if only up for 1/10th of a second, the iFrame is able to complete, and all works great. And just in case the 1/10 of a second is not sufficient, I can put the model dialogue in the while loop from solution 2, and it would ensure that the iFrame is loaded in time. Sweet right? Except for the fact that I now have to pop up a very unprofessional dialogue for the user to dismiss in order to run my script. I fought with myself about this cost/benefit of this action, but then I encountered a scenario where my code was called 10 times on a single page! Having to dismiss 10 alerts before acessing a page?! That reminds me of the late 90s script kiddie pages, and is NOT an option. 4. A gazillion other delay script out there:There are about 10 jQuery delay or sleep functions, some of them actually quite cleverly developed, but none worked. A few prototype options, and again, none I found could do it! A dozen or so other libraries and frameworks claimed they had what I needed, but alas they all conspired to give me false hope. I am convinced that since a built in model dialogue can halt execution, while allowing other threads to continue, there must be some code accessible way to do the same thing with out user input. The Code is literally thousands upon thousands of lines and is proprietary, so I wrote this little example of the problem for you to work with. It is important to note the ONLY code you are able to change is in the onlyThingYouCanChange function Test File : <html> <head> </head> </html> <body> <div id='iFrameHolder'></div> <script type='text/javascript'> function unChangeableFunction() { new_iFrame = onlyThingYouCanChange(document.getElementById('iFrameHolder')); new_iFrame_doc = (new_iFrame.contentWindow || new_iFrame.contentDocument); if(new_iFrame_doc.document)new_iFrame_doc=new_iFrame_doc.document; new_iFrame_body = new_iFrame_doc.body; if(new_iFrame_body.innerHTML != 'Loaded?') { //The world explodes!!! alert('you just blew up the world! Way to go!'); } else { alert('wow, you did it! Way to go!'); } } var iFrameLoaded = false; function onlyThingYouCanChange(objectToAppendIFrameTo) { iFrameLoaded = false; iframe=document.createElement('iframe'); iframe.onload = new Function('iFrameLoaded = true'); iframe.src = 'blank_frame.html'; //Must use an HTML doc on the server because there is a very specific DOM structure that must be maintained. objectToAppendIFrameTo.appendChild(iframe); var it = 0; while(!iFrameLoaded) //I put the limit on here so you don't { //If I was able to put some sort of delay here that paused the exicution of the script, but did not halt all other browser threads, and did not require user interaction we'd be golden! //alert('test'); //This would work if it did not require user interaction! } return iframe; } unChangeableFunction(); </script> </body> blank_frame.html : <html> <head> </head> <body style='margin:0px'>Loaded?</body> </html>

  • jQuery getting these functions to work together

    - by brett
    I'm new to jQuery and have tried looking around for an answer on how to do this. I have 2 functions and I would like both to work together. The one function is submitHandler and its used to hide a form and at the same time add a class to a hidden element to unhide it - ie a thank you for submitting h1. The other function is to grab the input data and display it onsubmit in the form. So the problem is that I can get that one to work but then the other doesnt. Ie on form submit I can see the data input but not the h1 Thank you message. Here are the functions: SubmitHandler: submitHandler: function() { $("#content").empty(); $("#content").append( "<p>If you want to be kept in the loop...</p>" + "<p>Or you can contact...</p>" ); $('h1.success_').removeClass('success_').addClass('success_form'); $('#contactform').hide(); }, onsubmit="return inputdata()" function inputdata(){ var usr = document.getElementById('contactname').value; var eml = document.getElementById('email').value; var msg = document.getElementById('message').value; document.getElementById('out').innerHTML = usr + " " + eml + msg; document.getElementById('out').style.display = "block"; return true; }, The form uses PHP and jQuery - I dont know about AJAX but after some reading even less sure. Please help me out I dont know what I'm doing and at the moment I am learning but its a long road for me still. Thank you The form: <form method="post" action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" id="contactform" onsubmit="return inputdata()"> <div class="_required"><p class="label_left">Name*</p><input type="text" size="50" name="contactname" id="contactname" value="" class="required" /></div><br/><br/> <div class="_required"><p class="label_left">E-mail address*</p><input type="text" size="50" name="email" id="email" value="" class="required email" /></div><br/><br/> <p class="label_left">Message</p><textarea rows="5" cols="50" name="message" id="message" class="required"></textarea><br/> <input type="submit" value="submit" name="submit" id="submit" /> </form> The PHP bit: <?php $subject = "Website Contact Form Enquiry"; //If the form is submitted if(isset($_POST['submit'])) { //Check to make sure that the name field is not empty if(trim($_POST['contactname']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { $name = trim($_POST['contactname']); } //Check to make sure sure that a valid email address is submitted if(trim($_POST['email']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else if (!eregi("^[A-Z0-9._%-]+@[A-Z0-9._%-]+\.[A-Z]{2,4}$", trim($_POST['email']))) { $hasError = true; } else { $email = trim($_POST['email']); } //Check to make sure comments were entered if(trim($_POST['message']) == '') { $hasError = true; } else { if(function_exists('stripslashes')) { $comments = stripslashes(trim($_POST['message'])); } else { $comments = trim($_POST['message']); } } //If there is no error, send the email if(!isset($hasError)) { $emailTo = '[email protected]'; //Put your own email address here $body = "Name: $name \n\nEmail: $email \n\nComments:\n $comments"; $headers = 'From: My Site <'.$emailTo.'>' . "\r\n" . 'Reply-To: ' . $email; mail($emailTo, $subject, $body, $headers); $emailSent = true; } } ? The Jquery Validate bit: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactform').validate({ showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { //restore the normal look $('#contactform div.xrequired').removeClass('xrequired').addClass('_required'); //stop if everything is ok if (errorList.length == 0) return; //Iterate over the errors for(var i = 0;i < errorList.length; i++) $(errorList[i].element).parent().removeClass('_required').addClass('xrequired'); }, Here is the full jQuery bit: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactform').validate({ showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { //restore the normal look $('#contactform div.xrequired').removeClass('xrequired').addClass('_required'); //stop if everything is ok if (errorList.length == 0) return; //Iterate over the errors for(var i = 0;i < errorList.length; i++) $(errorList[i].element).parent().removeClass('_required').addClass('xrequired'); }, submitHandler: function() { $('h1.success_').removeClass('success_').addClass('success_form'); $("#content").empty(); $("#content").append('#sadhu'); $('#contactform').hide(); }, }); }); Latest edit - Looks like this: $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactform').validate({ showErrors: function(errorMap, errorList) { //restore the normal look $('#contactform div.xrequired').removeClass('xrequired').addClass('_required'); //stop if everything is ok if (errorList.length == 0) return; //Iterate over the errors for(var i = 0;i < errorList.length; i++) $(errorList[i].element).parent().removeClass('_required').addClass('xrequired'); }, function submitHandler() { $('h1.success_').removeClass('success_').addClass('success_form'); $("#content").empty(); $("#content").append('#sadhu'); $('#contactform').hide(); }, function inputdata() { var usr = document.getElementById('contactname').value; var eml = document.getElementById('email').value; var msg = document.getElementById('message').value; document.getElementById('out').innerHTML = usr + " " + eml + msg; document.getElementById('out').style.display = "block"; }, $(document).ready(function(){ $('#contactForm').submit(function() { inputdata(); submitHandler(); }); }); });

  • Qt C++ signals and slots did not fire

    - by Xegara
    I have programmed Qt a couple of times already and I really like the signals and slots feature. But now, I guess I'm having a problem when a signal is emitted from one thread, the corresponding slot from another thread is not fired. The connection was made in the main program. This is also my first time to use Qt for ROS which uses CMake. The signal fired by the QThread triggered their corresponding slots but the emitted signal of my class UserInput did not trigger the slot in tflistener where it supposed to. I have tried everything I can. Any help? The code is provided below. Main.cpp #include <QCoreApplication> #include <QThread> #include "userinput.h" #include "tfcompleter.h" int main(int argc, char** argv) { QCoreApplication app(argc, argv); QThread *thread1 = new QThread(); QThread *thread2 = new QThread(); UserInput *input1 = new UserInput(); TfCompleter *completer = new TfCompleter(); QObject::connect(input1, SIGNAL(togglePause2()), completer, SLOT(toggle())); QObject::connect(thread1, SIGNAL(started()), completer, SLOT(startCounting())); QObject::connect(thread2, SIGNAL(started()), input1, SLOT(start())); completer->moveToThread(thread1); input1->moveToThread(thread2); thread1->start(); thread2->start(); app.exec(); return 0; } What I want to do is.. There are two seperate threads. One thread is for the user input. When the user enters [space], the thread emits a signal to toggle the boolean member field of the other thread. The other thread 's task is to just continue its process if the user wants it to run, otherwise, the user does not want it to run. I wanted to grant the user to toggle the processing anytime that he wants, that's why I decided to bring them into seperate threads. The following codes are the tflistener and userinput. tfcompleter.h #ifndef TFCOMPLETER_H #define TFCOMPLETER_H #include <QObject> #include <QtCore> class TfCompleter : public QObject { Q_OBJECT private: bool isCount; public Q_SLOTS: void toggle(); void startCounting(); }; #endif tflistener.cpp #include "tfcompleter.h" #include <iostream> void TfCompleter::startCounting() { static uint i = 0; while(true) { if(isCount) std::cout << i++ << std::endl; } } void TfCompleter::toggle() { // isCount = ~isCount; std::cout << "isCount " << std::endl; } UserInput.h #ifndef USERINPUT_H #define USERINPUT_H #include <QObject> #include <QtCore> class UserInput : public QObject { Q_OBJECT public Q_SLOTS: void start(); // Waits for the keypress from the user and emits the corresponding signal. public: Q_SIGNALS: void togglePause2(); }; #endif UserInput.cpp #include "userinput.h" #include <iostream> #include <cstdio> // Implementation of getch #include <termios.h> #include <unistd.h> /* reads from keypress, doesn't echo */ int getch(void) { struct termios oldattr, newattr; int ch; tcgetattr( STDIN_FILENO, &oldattr ); newattr = oldattr; newattr.c_lflag &= ~( ICANON | ECHO ); tcsetattr( STDIN_FILENO, TCSANOW, &newattr ); ch = getchar(); tcsetattr( STDIN_FILENO, TCSANOW, &oldattr ); return ch; } void UserInput::start() { char c = 0; while (true) { c = getch(); if (c == ' ') { Q_EMIT togglePause2(); std::cout << "SPACE" << std::endl; } c = 0; } } Here is the CMakeLists.txt. • How to manage maintenance/bug-fix branches in Subversion when third-party installers are involved?

    - by Mike Spross
    We have a suite of related products written in VB6, with some C# and VB.NET projects, and all the source is kept in a single Subversion repository. We haven't been using branches in Subversion (although we do tag releases now), and simply do all development in trunk, creating new releases when the trunk is stable enough. This causes no end of grief when we release a new version, issues are found with it, and we have already begun working on new features or major changes to the trunk. In the past, we would address this in one of two ways, depending on the severity of the issues and how stable we thought the trunk was: Hurry to stabilize the trunk, fix the issues, and then release a maintenance update based on the HEAD revision, but this had the side effect of releases that fixed the bugs but introduced new issues because of half-finished features or bugfixes that were in trunk. Make customers wait until the next official release, which is usually a few months. We want to change our policies to better deal with this situation. I was considering creating a "maintenance branch" in Subversion whenever I tag an official release. Then, new development would continue in trunk, and I can periodically merge specific fixes from trunk into the maintenance branch, and create a maintenance release when enough fixes are accumulated, while we continue to work on the next major update in parallel. I know we could also have a more stable trunk and create a branch for new updates instead, but keeping current development in trunk seems simpler to me. The major problem is that while we can easily branch the source code from a release tag and recompile it to get the binaries for that release, I'm not sure how to handle the setup and installer projects. We use QSetup to create all of our setup programs, and right now when we need to modify a setup project, we just edit the project file in-place (all the setup projects and any dependencies that we don't compile ourselves are stored on a separate server, and we make sure to always compile the setup projects on that machine only). However, since we may add or remove files to the setup as our code changes, there is no guarantee that today's setup projects will work with yesterday's source code. I was going to put all the QSetup projects in Subversion to deal with this, but I see some problems with this approach. I want the creation of setup programs to be as automated as possible, and at the very least, I want a separate build machine where I can build the release that I want (grabbing the code from Subversion first), grab the setup project for that release from Subversion, recompile the setup, and then copy the setup to another place on the network for QA testing and eventual release to customers. However, when someone needs to change a setup project (to add a new dependency that trunk now requires or to make other changes), there is a problem. If they treat it like a source file and check it out on their own machine to edit it, they won't be able to add files to the project unless they first copy the files they need to add to the build machine (so they are available to other developers), then copy all the other dependencies from the build machine to their machine, making sure to match the folder structure exactly. The issue here is that QSetup uses absolute paths for any files added to a setup project. However, this means installing a bunch of setup dependencies onto development machines, which seems messy (and which could destabilize the development environment if someone accidentally runs the setup project on their machine). Also, how do we manage third-party dependencies? For example, if the current maintenance branch used MSXML 3.0 and the trunk now requires MSXML 4.0, we can't go back and create a maintenance release if we have already replaced the MSXML library on the build machine with the latest version (assuming both versions have the same filename). The only solution I can think is to either put all the third-party dependencies in Subversion along with the source code, or to make sure we put different library versions in separate folders (i.e. C:\Setup\Dependencies\MSXML\v3.0 and C:\Setup\Dependencies\MSXML\v4.0). Is one way "better" or more common than the other? Are there any best practices for dealing with this situation? Basically, if we release v2.0 of our software, we want to be able to release v2.0.1, v2.0.2, and v.2.0.3 while we work on v2.1, but the whole setup/installation project and setup dependency issue is making this more complicated than the the typical "just create a branch in Subversion and recompile as needed" answer.

  • Using C# to detect whether a filename character is considered international

    - by Morten Mertner
    I've written a small console application (source below) to locate and optionally rename files containing international characters, as they are a source of constant pain with most source control systems (some background on this below). The code I'm using has a simple dictionary with characters to look for and replace (and nukes every other character that uses more than one byte of storage), but it feels very hackish. What's the right way to (a) find out whether a character is international? and (b) what the best ASCII substitution character would be? Let me provide some background information on why this is needed. It so happens that the danish Å character has two different encodings in UTF-8, both representing the same symbol. These are known as NFC and NFD encodings. Windows and Linux will create NFC encoding by default but respect whatever encoding it is given. Mac will convert all names (when saving to a HFS+ partition) to NFD and therefore returns a different byte stream for the name of a file created on Windows. This effectively breaks Subversion, Git and lots of other utilities that don't care to properly handle this scenario. I'm currently evaluating Mercurial, which turns out to be even worse at handling international characters.. being fairly tired of these problems, either source control or the international character would have to go, and so here we are. My current implementation: public class Checker { private Dictionary<char, string> internationals = new Dictionary<char, string>(); private List<char> keep = new List<char>(); private List<char> seen = new List<char>(); public Checker() { internationals.Add( 'æ', "ae" ); internationals.Add( 'ø', "oe" ); internationals.Add( 'å', "aa" ); internationals.Add( 'Æ', "Ae" ); internationals.Add( 'Ø', "Oe" ); internationals.Add( 'Å', "Aa" ); internationals.Add( 'ö', "o" ); internationals.Add( 'ü', "u" ); internationals.Add( 'ä', "a" ); internationals.Add( 'é', "e" ); internationals.Add( 'è', "e" ); internationals.Add( 'ê', "e" ); internationals.Add( '¦', "" ); internationals.Add( 'Ã', "" ); internationals.Add( '©', "" ); internationals.Add( ' ', "" ); internationals.Add( '§', "" ); internationals.Add( '¡', "" ); internationals.Add( '³', "" ); internationals.Add( '', "" ); internationals.Add( 'º', "" ); internationals.Add( '«', "-" ); internationals.Add( '»', "-" ); internationals.Add( '´', "'" ); internationals.Add( '`', "'" ); internationals.Add( '"', "'" ); internationals.Add( Encoding.UTF8.GetString( new byte[] { 226, 128, 147 } )[ 0 ], "-" ); internationals.Add( Encoding.UTF8.GetString( new byte[] { 226, 128, 148 } )[ 0 ], "-" ); internationals.Add( Encoding.UTF8.GetString( new byte[] { 226, 128, 153 } )[ 0 ], "'" ); internationals.Add( Encoding.UTF8.GetString( new byte[] { 226, 128, 166 } )[ 0 ], "." ); keep.Add( '-' ); keep.Add( '=' ); keep.Add( '\'' ); keep.Add( '.' ); } public bool IsInternationalCharacter( char c ) { var s = c.ToString(); byte[] bytes = Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes( s ); if( bytes.Length > 1 && ! internationals.ContainsKey( c ) && ! seen.Contains( c ) ) { Console.WriteLine( "X '{0}' ({1})", c, string.Join( ",", bytes ) ); seen.Add( c ); if( ! keep.Contains( c ) ) { internationals[ c ] = ""; } } return internationals.ContainsKey( c ); } public bool HasInternationalCharactersInName( string name, out string safeName ) { StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); Array.ForEach( name.ToCharArray(), c => sb.Append( IsInternationalCharacter( c ) ? internationals[ c ] : c.ToString() ) ); int length = sb.Length; sb.Replace( " ", " " ); while( sb.Length != length ) { sb.Replace( " ", " " ); } safeName = sb.ToString().Trim(); string namePart = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension( safeName ); if( namePart.EndsWith( "." ) ) safeName = namePart.Substring( 0, namePart.Length - 1 ) + Path.GetExtension( safeName ); return name != safeName; } } And this would be invoked like this: FileInfo file = new File( "Århus.txt" ); string safeName; if( checker.HasInternationalCharactersInName( file.Name, out safeName ) ) { // rename file }

  • Cocos2d-iPhone: CCSprite positions differ between Retina & non-Retina Screens

    - by bobwaycott
    I have a fairly simple app built using cocos2d-iphone, but a strange positioning problem that I've been unable to resolve. The app uses sprite sheets, and there is a Retina and non-Retina sprite sheet within the app that use the exact same artwork (except for resolution, of course). There are other artwork within the app used for CCSprites that are both standard and -hd suffixed. Within the app, a group of sprites are created when the app starts. These initially created CCSprites always position identically (and correctly) on Retina & non-Retina screens. // In method called to setup sprites when app launches // Cache & setup app sprites [[CCSpriteFrameCache sharedSpriteFrameCache] addSpriteFramesWithFile: @"sprites.plist"]; sprites = [CCSpriteBatchNode batchNodeWithFile: @"sprites.png"]; hill = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"hill.png"]; hill.position = ccp( 160, 75 ); [sprites addChild: hill z: 1]; // ... [create more sprites in same fashion] // NOTE: All sprites created here have correct positioning on Retina & non-Retina screens When a user taps the screen a certain way, a method is called that creates another group of CCSprites (on- and off-screen), animating them all in. One of these sprites, hand, is always positioned identically (and correctly) on Retina & non-Retina screens. The others (a group of clouds) successfully create & animate, but their positions are correct only on Retina displays. On a non-Retina display, each cloud has incorrect starting positions (incorrect for x, y, or sometimes both), and their ending positions after animation are also wrong. I've included the responsible code below from the on-touch method that creates the new sprites and animates them in. Again, it works as expected on a Retina display, but incorrectly on non-Retina screens. The CCSprites used are created in the same way at app-start to setup all the initial sprites in the app, which always have correct positions. // Elsewhere, in a method called on touch // Create clouds cloud1 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_1.png"]; cloud1.position = ccp(-150, 320); cloud1.scale = 1.2f; cloud2 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_2.png"]; cloud2.position = ccp(-150, 335); cloud2.scale = 1.3f; cloud3 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_4.png"]; cloud3.position = ccp(-150, 400); cloud4 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_5.png"]; cloud4.position = ccp(-150, 420); cloud5 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_3.png"]; cloud5.position = ccp(400, 350); cloud6 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_1.png"]; cloud6.position = ccp(400, 335); cloud6.scale = 1.1f; cloud7 = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName: @"cloud_2.png"]; cloud7.flipY = YES; cloud7.flipX = YES; cloud7.position = ccp(400, 380); // Create hand hand = [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName:@"hand.png"]; hand.position = ccp(160, 650); [sprites addChild: cloud1 z: 10]; [sprites addChild: cloud2 z: 9]; [sprites addChild: cloud3 z: 8]; [sprites addChild: cloud4 z: 7]; [sprites addChild: cloud5 z: 6]; [sprites addChild: cloud6 z: 10]; [sprites addChild: cloud7 z: 8]; [sprites addChild: hand z: 10]; // ACTION!! [cloud1 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(70, 320)]]; [cloud2 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(60, 335)]]; [cloud3 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(100, 400)]]; [cloud4 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(80, 420)]]; [cloud5 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(250, 350)]]; [cloud6 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(250, 335)]]; [cloud7 runAction:[CCMoveTo actionWithDuration: 1.0f position: ccp(270, 380)]]; [hand runAction: handIn]; It may be worth mentioning that I see this incorrect positioning behavior in the iOS Simulator when running the app and switching between the standard iPhone and iPhone (Retina) hardware options. I have not been able to verify this occurs or does not occur on an actual non-Retina iPhone because I do not have one. However, this is the only time I see this odd positioning behavior occur (the incorrect results obtained after user touch), and since I'm creating all sprites in exactly the same way (i.e., [CCSprite spriteWithSpriteFrameName:] and then setting position with cpp()), I would be especially grateful for any help in tracking down why this single group of sprites are always incorrect on non-Retina screens. Thank you.

  • OpenSSL in C++ email client - server closes connection with TLSv1 Alert message

    - by mice
    My app connects to a IMAP email server. One client configured his server to reject SSLv2 certificates, and now my app fails to connect to the server. All other email clients connect to this server successfully. My app uses openssl. I debugged by creating minimal openssl client and attempt to connect to the server. Below is the code with connects to the mail server (using Windows sockets, but same problem is with unix sockets). Server sends its initial IMAP greeting message, but after client sends 1st command, server closes connection. In Wireshark, I see that after sending command to server, it returns TLSv1 error message 21 (Encrypted Alert) and connection is gone. I'm looking for proper setup of OpenSSL for this connection to succeed. • From HttpRuntime.Cache to Windows Azure Caching (Preview)

    - by Jeff
    I don’t know about you, but the announcement of Windows Azure Caching (Preview) (yes, the parentheses are apparently part of the interim name) made me a lot more excited about using Azure. Why? Because one of the great performance tricks of any Web app is to cache frequently used data in memory, so it doesn’t have to hit the database, a service, or whatever. When you run your Web app on one box, HttpRuntime.Cache is a sweet and stupid-simple solution. Somewhere in the data fetching pieces of your app, you can see if an object is available in cache, and return that instead of hitting the data store. I did this quite a bit in POP Forums, and it dramatically cuts down on the database chatter. The problem is that it falls apart if you run the app on many servers, in a Web farm, where one server may initiate a change to that data, and the others will have no knowledge of the change, making it stale. Of course, if you have the infrastructure to do so, you can use something like memcached or AppFabric to do a distributed cache, and achieve the caching flavor you desire. You could do the same thing in Azure before, but it would cost more because you’d need to pay for another role or VM or something to host the cache. Now, you can use a portion of the memory from each instance of a Web role to act as that cache, with no additional cost. That’s huge. So if you’re using a percentage of memory that comes out to 100 MB, and you have three instances running, that’s 300 MB available for caching. For the uninitiated, a Web role in Azure is essentially a VM that runs a Web app (worker roles are the same idea, only without the IIS part). You can spin up many instances of the role, and traffic is load balanced to the various instances. It’s like adding or removing servers to a Web farm all willy-nilly and at your discretion, and it’s what the cloud is all about. I’d say it’s my favorite thing about Windows Azure. The slightly annoying thing about developing for a Web role in Azure is that the local emulator that’s launched by Visual Studio is a little on the slow side. If you’re used to using the built-in Web server, you’re used to building and then alt-tabbing to your browser and refreshing a page. If you’re just changing an MVC view, you’re not even doing the building part. Spinning up the simulated Azure environment is too slow for this, but ideally you want to code your app to use this fantastic distributed cache mechanism. So first off, here’s the link to the page showing how to code using the caching feature. If you’re used to using HttpRuntime.Cache, this should be pretty familiar to you. Let’s say that you want to use the Azure cache preview when you’re running in Azure, but HttpRuntime.Cache if you’re running local, or in a regular IIS server environment. Through the magic of dependency injection, we can get there pretty quickly. First, design an interface to handle the cache insertion, fetching and removal. Mine looks like this: public interface ICacheProvider {     void Add(string key, object item, int duration);     T Get<T>(string key) where T : class;     void Remove(string key); } Now we’ll create two implementations of this interface… one for Azure cache, one for HttpRuntime: public class AzureCacheProvider : ICacheProvider {     public AzureCacheProvider()     {         _cache = new DataCache("default"); // in Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching, see how-to      }         private readonly DataCache _cache;     public void Add(string key, object item, int duration)     {         _cache.Add(key, item, new TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 0, duration));     }     public T Get<T>(string key) where T : class     {         return _cache.Get(key) as T;     }     public void Remove(string key)     {         _cache.Remove(key);     } } public class LocalCacheProvider : ICacheProvider {     public LocalCacheProvider()     {         _cache = HttpRuntime.Cache;     }     private readonly System.Web.Caching.Cache _cache;     public void Add(string key, object item, int duration)     {         _cache.Insert(key, item, null, DateTime.UtcNow.AddMilliseconds(duration), System.Web.Caching.Cache.NoSlidingExpiration);     }     public T Get<T>(string key) where T : class     {         return _cache[key] as T;     }     public void Remove(string key)     {         _cache.Remove(key);     } } Feel free to expand these to use whatever cache features you want. I’m not going to go over dependency injection here, but I assume that if you’re using ASP.NET MVC, you’re using it. Somewhere in your app, you set up the DI container that resolves interfaces to concrete implementations (Ninject call is a “kernel” instead of a container). For this example, I’ll show you how StructureMap does it. It uses a convention based scheme, where if you need to get an instance of IFoo, it looks for a class named Foo. You can also do this mapping explicitly. The initialization of the container looks something like this: ObjectFactory.Initialize(x =>             {                 x.Scan(scan =>                         {                             scan.AssembliesFromApplicationBaseDirectory();                             scan.WithDefaultConventions();                         });                 if (Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ServiceRuntime.RoleEnvironment.IsAvailable)                     x.For<ICacheProvider>().Use<AzureCacheProvider>();                 else                     x.For<ICacheProvider>().Use<LocalCacheProvider>();             }); If you use Ninject or Windsor or something else, that’s OK. Conceptually they’re all about the same. The important part is the conditional statement that checks to see if the app is running in Azure. If it is, it maps ICacheProvider to AzureCacheProvider, otherwise it maps to LocalCacheProvider. Now when a request comes into your MVC app, and the chain of dependency resolution occurs, you can see to it that the right caching code is called. A typical design may have a call stack that goes: Controller –> BusinessLogicClass –> Repository. Let’s say your repository class looks like this: public class MyRepo : IMyRepo {     public MyRepo(ICacheProvider cacheProvider)     {         _context = new MyDataContext();         _cache = cacheProvider;     }     private readonly MyDataContext _context;     private readonly ICacheProvider _cache;     public SomeType Get(int someTypeID)     {         var key = "somename-" + someTypeID;         var cachedObject = _cache.Get<SomeType>(key);         if (cachedObject != null)         {             _context.SomeTypes.Attach(cachedObject);             return cachedObject;         }         var someType = _context.SomeTypes.SingleOrDefault(p => p.SomeTypeID == someTypeID);         _cache.Add(key, someType, 60000);         return someType;     } ... // more stuff to update, delete or whatever, being sure to remove // from cache when you do so  When the DI container gets an instance of the repo, it passes an instance of ICacheProvider to the constructor, which in this case will be whatever implementation was specified when the container was initialized. The Get method first tries to hit the cache, and of course doesn’t care what the underlying implementation is, Azure, HttpRuntime, or otherwise. If it finds the object, it returns it right then. If not, it hits the database (this example is using Entity Framework), and inserts the object into the cache before returning it. The important thing not pictured here is that other methods in the repo class will construct the key for the cached object, in this case “somename-“ plus the ID of the object, and then remove it from cache, in any method that alters or deletes the object. That way, no matter what instance of the role is processing the request, it won’t find the object if it has been made stale, that is, updated or outright deleted, forcing it to attempt to hit the database. So is this good technique? Well, sort of. It depends on how you use it, and what your testing looks like around it. Because of differences in behavior and execution of the two caching providers, for example, you could see some strange errors. For example, I immediately got an error indicating there was no parameterless constructor for an MVC controller, because the DI resolver failed to create instances for the dependencies it had. In reality, the NuGet packaged DI resolver for StructureMap was eating an exception thrown by the Azure components that said my configuration, outlined in that how-to article, was wrong. That error wouldn’t occur when using the HttpRuntime. That’s something a lot of people debate about using different components like that, and how you configure them. I kinda hate XML config files, and like the idea of the code-based approach above, but you should be darn sure that your unit and integration testing can account for the differences.

  • timer_getoverrun() doesn't behave as expected when using sleep()

    - by dlp
    Here is a program that uses a POSIX per-process timer alongside the sleep subroutine. The signal used by the timer has been set to SIGUSR1 rather than SIGALRM, since SIGALRM may be used internally by sleep, but it still doesn't seem to work. I have run the program using the command line timer-overruns -d 1 -n 10000000 (1 cs interval) so, in theory, we should expect 100 overruns between calls to sigwaitinfo. However, timer_getoverrun returns 0. I have also tried a version using a time-consuming for loop to introduce the delay. In this case, overruns are recorded. Does anyone know why this happens? I am running a 3.4 Linux kernel. Program source /* * timer-overruns.c */ #include <unistd.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <stdio.h> #include <signal.h> #include <time.h> // Signal to be used for timer expirations #define TIMER_SIGNAL SIGUSR1 int main(int argc, char **argv) { int opt; int d = 0; int r = 0; // Repeat indefinitely struct itimerspec its; its.it_interval.tv_sec = 0; its.it_interval.tv_nsec = 0; // Parse arguments while ((opt = getopt(argc, argv, "d:r:s:n:")) != -1) { switch (opt) { case 'd': // Delay before calling sigwaitinfo() d = atoi(optarg); break; case 'r': // Number of times to call sigwaitinfo() r = atoi(optarg); break; case 's': // Timer interval (seconds) its.it_interval.tv_sec = its.it_value.tv_sec = atoi(optarg); break; case 'n': // Timer interval (nanoseconds) its.it_interval.tv_nsec = its.it_value.tv_nsec = atoi(optarg); break; default: /* '?' */ fprintf(stderr, "Usage: %s [-d signal_accept_delay] [-r repetitions] [-s interval_seconds] [-n interval_nanoseconds]\n", argv[0]); exit(EXIT_FAILURE); } } // Check sanity of command line arguments short e = 0; if (d < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Delay (-d) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (r < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Number of repetitions (-r) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (its.it_interval.tv_sec < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Interval seconds value (-s) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (its.it_interval.tv_nsec < 0) { fprintf(stderr, "Interval nanoseconds value (-n) cannot be negative!\n"); e++; } if (its.it_interval.tv_nsec > 999999999) { fprintf(stderr, "Interval nanoseconds value (-n) must be < 1 second.\n"); e++; } if (e > 0) exit(EXIT_FAILURE); // Set default values if not specified if (its.it_interval.tv_sec == 0 && its.it_interval.tv_nsec == 0) { its.it_interval.tv_sec = its.it_value.tv_sec = 1; its.it_value.tv_nsec = 0; } printf("Running with timer delay %d.%09d seconds\n", (int) its.it_interval.tv_sec, (int) its.it_interval.tv_nsec); // Will be waiting for signals synchronously, so block the one in use. sigset_t sigset; sigemptyset(&sigset); sigaddset(&sigset, TIMER_SIGNAL); sigprocmask(SIG_BLOCK, &sigset, NULL ); // Create and arm the timer struct sigevent sev; timer_t timer; sev.sigev_notify = SIGEV_SIGNAL; sev.sigev_signo = TIMER_SIGNAL; sev.sigev_value.sival_ptr = timer; timer_create(CLOCK_REALTIME, &sev, &timer); timer_settime(timer, TIMER_ABSTIME, &its, NULL ); // Signal handling loop int overruns; siginfo_t si; // Make the loop infinite if r = 0 if (r == 0) r = -1; while (r != 0) { // Sleeping should cause overruns if (d > 0) sleep(d); sigwaitinfo(&sigset, &si); // Check that the signal is from the timer if (si.si_code != SI_TIMER) continue; overruns = timer_getoverrun(timer); if (overruns > 0) { printf("Timer overrun occurred for %d expirations.\n", overruns); } // Decrement r if not repeating indefinitely if (r > 0) r--; } return EXIT_SUCCESS; }

  • How can I generate XML application configuration using Zend_Tool?

    - by wimvds
    When creating a new project using zf create project myproject it will create a default project layout with an application.ini in the configs folder. Where can I change these default settings so that it generates (and uses) an XML file (application.xml)? I've looked at the documentation for Zend_Tool (http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.tool.html), but there seems to be no information on how to do this. And suppose you'd like to use a different default folder layout (ie. use htdocs instead of public as your document root), is there a way to specify this as well? Any pointers to relevant information (btw I've looked at the Quickstart, nothing relevant is mentioned there unless I'm overlooking it)? edit I already tried creating a profile (stored in .zf/project/profiles), and used that to create a project (using zf create project myproject myprofile) but that doesn't change anything, even though the .zfproject.xml file in the root of the new project does contain the <applicationConfigFile type="xml"/> setting... The new project contains this (as you can see, it's just the default settings, only the type of applicationConfigFile has been changed) : <?xml version="1.0"?> <projectProfile type="default" version="1.10"> <projectDirectory> <projectProfileFile filesystemName=".zfproject.xml"/> <applicationDirectory classNamePrefix="Application_"> <apisDirectory enabled="false"/> <configsDirectory> <applicationConfigFile type="xml"/> </configsDirectory> <controllersDirectory> <controllerFile controllerName="Index"> <actionMethod actionName="index"/> </controllerFile> <controllerFile controllerName="Error"/> </controllersDirectory> <formsDirectory enabled="false"/> <layoutsDirectory enabled="false"/> <modelsDirectory/> <modulesDirectory enabled="false"/> <viewsDirectory> <viewScriptsDirectory> <viewControllerScriptsDirectory forControllerName="Index"> <viewScriptFile forActionName="index"/> </viewControllerScriptsDirectory> <viewControllerScriptsDirectory forControllerName="Error"> <viewScriptFile forActionName="error"/> </viewControllerScriptsDirectory> </viewScriptsDirectory> <viewHelpersDirectory/> <viewFiltersDirectory enabled="false"/> </viewsDirectory> <bootstrapFile filesystemName="Bootstrap.php"/> </applicationDirectory> <dataDirectory enabled="false"> <cacheDirectory enabled="false"/> <searchIndexesDirectory enabled="false"/> <localesDirectory enabled="false"/> <logsDirectory enabled="false"/> <sessionsDirectory enabled="false"/> <uploadsDirectory enabled="false"/> </dataDirectory> <docsDirectory> <file filesystemName="README.txt"/> </docsDirectory> <libraryDirectory> <zfStandardLibraryDirectory enabled="false"/> </libraryDirectory> <publicDirectory> <publicStylesheetsDirectory enabled="false"/> <publicScriptsDirectory enabled="false"/> <publicImagesDirectory enabled="false"/> <publicIndexFile filesystemName="index.php"/> <htaccessFile filesystemName=".htaccess"/> </publicDirectory> <projectProvidersDirectory enabled="false"/> <temporaryDirectory enabled="false"/> <testsDirectory> <testPHPUnitConfigFile filesystemName="phpunit.xml"/> <testApplicationDirectory> <testApplicationBootstrapFile filesystemName="bootstrap.php"/> </testApplicationDirectory> <testLibraryDirectory> <testLibraryBootstrapFile filesystemName="bootstrap.php"/> </testLibraryDirectory> </testsDirectory> </projectDirectory> </projectProfile>

  • With XSLT, how can I use this if-test with an array, when search element is returned by a template call inside the for loop?

    - by codesforcoffee
    I think this simple example might ask the question a lot more clearly. I have an input file with multiple products. There are 10 types of product (2 product IDs is fine enough for this example), but the input will have 200 products, and I only want to output the info for the first product of each type. (Output info for the lowest priced one, so the first one will be the lowest price because I sort by Price first.) So I want to read in each product, but only output the product's info if I haven't already output a product with that same ID. I couldn't figure out how to get the processID template to return a value that I need to do my if-check on, that uses parameters from inside the for-each Product loop -then properly close the if tag in the right place so it won't output the open Product tag unless it passes the if test. I know the following code does not work, but it illustrates the idea and gives me a place to start: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" cdata-section-elements="prod_name adv_notes"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <List> <xsl:for-each select="ProductGroup"> <xsl:sort select="ActiveProducts/Product/Rate"/> <xsl:variable name="IDarray"> <xsl:for-each select="ActiveProducts/Product"> <xsl:variable name="CurrentID"> <xsl:call-template name="processID"> <xsl:with-param name="ProductCode" select="ProductCode" /> </xsl:call-template> </xsl:variable> <xsl:if test="not(contains($IDarray, $CurrentID))"> <child elem="{@elem}"> <xsl:select value-of="$CurrentID" /> </child> <Product> <xsl:attribute name="ID"> <xsl:select value-of="$CurrentID" /> </xsl:attribute> <prod_name> <xsl:value-of select="../ProductName"/> </prod_name> <rate> <xsl:value-of select="../Rate"/> </rate> </Product> </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:variable> </xsl:for-each> </List> </xsl:template> <xsl:template name="processID"> <xsl:param name="ProductCode"/> <xsl:choose> <xsl:when test="starts-with($ProductCode, '515')">5</xsl:when> <xsl:when test="starts-with($ProductCode, '205')">2</xsl:when> </xsl:choose> </xsl:template> Thanks so much in advance, I know some of the awesome programmers here can help! :) -Holly An input would look like this: <ProductGroup> <ActiveProducts> <Product> <ProductCode> 5155 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 3.99 </Rate> </Product> <Product> <ProductCode> 5158 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 4.99 </Rate> </Product> </ActiveProducts> </ProductGroup> <ProductGroup> <ActiveProducts> <Product> <ProductCode> 2058 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 2.99 </Rate> </Product> <Product> <ProductCode> 2055 </ProductCode> <ProductName> House </ProductName> <Rate> 7.99 </Rate> </Product> </ActiveProducts> </ProductGroup> 200 of those with different attributes. I have the translation working, just needed to add that array and if statement somehow. Output would be this for only that simple input file:
