  • Why are Facebook Likes Insisting on using Wrong Product Image...?

    Firstly, I'm not a web developer so please be patient. I have read the other posts but I think i have everything covered. My website http://www.joaniesgifts.co.uk includes the like button on the product pages. However, I've found that certain product pages are using the incorrect image when a user likes the page. For example - http://www.joaniesgifts.co.uk/terramundi-money-pots/terramundi-money-pot-holiday-fund I think this may have been down to an original incorrect setup which is now corrected. However, the problem remains... The only thing I have to go on :- if i use the facebook url linter (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug) on the above product page, I receive the following error :- Object at URL 'http://www.joaniesgifts.co.uk/terramundi-money-pot-holiday-fund' of type '213689662010141:product' is invalid because the domain 'www.joaniesgifts.co.uk' is not allowed for the application id '213689662010141' which owns the specified object type. If you are the owner of this application, you can verify your configured 'Site Domain' at developers.facebook.com/apps/213689662010141. (I have verified my site's domain) Everything else appears fine except it is also showing the wrong image!! However, under Raw Open Graph Document Information it has the correct link! If I then click graph api - graph.facebook.com/10150450766583352 it again shows the wrong image was linked! I've no idea what else to do - can you help me?   • Building "isolated" and "automatically updated" caches (java.util.List) in Java.

    Hi Guys, I am trying to write a framework which contains a lot of short-lived caches created from a long-living cache. These short-lived caches need to be able to return their entier contents, which is a clone from the original long-living cache. Effectively what I am trying to build is a level of transaction isolation for the short-lived caches. The user should be able to modify the contents of the short-lived cache, but changes to the long-living cache should not be propogated through (there is also a case where the changes should be pushed through, depending on the Cache type). I will do my best to try and explain: master-cache contains: [A,B,C,D,E,F] temporary-cache created with state [A,B,C,D,E,F] 1) temporary-cache adds item G: [A,B,C,D,E,F] 2) temporary-cache removes item B: [A,C,D,E,F] master-cache contains: [A,B,C,D,E,F] 3) master-cache adds items [X,Y,Z]: [A,B,C,D,E,F,X,Y,Z] temporary-cache contains: [A,C,D,E,F] Things get even harder when the values in the items can change and shouldn't always be updated (so I can't even share the underlying object instances, I need to use clones). I have implemented the simple approach of just creating a new instance of the List using the standard Collection constructor on ArrayList, however when you get out to about 200,000 items the system just runs out of memory. I know the value of 200,000 is excessive to iterate, but I am trying to stress my code a bit. I had thought that it might be able to somehow "proxy" the list, so the temporary-cache uses the master-cache, and stores all of it's changes (effectively a Memento for the change), however that quickly becomes a nightmare when you want to iterate the temporary-cache, or retrieve an item at a specific index. Also given that I want some modifications to the contents of the list to come through (depending on the type of the temporary-cache, whether it is "auto-update" or not) and I get completly out of my depth. Any pointers to techniques or data-structures or just general concepts to try and research will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Aidos

  • How to flush output after each `echo` call?

    Hi all! I've a php script that only produces logs to the client. When I echo something, i wan't it to be transfered to client on-the-fly. (Because while the script is processing, the page is blank) I had already played arround with ob_start() and ob_flush(), but they didn't worked. What's the best solution?     Finally I accomplished to cache dynamic images, css, and javascript files using HTTP headers BUT I have a problem now: I have specific dynamic images that are equal but has different URL's. For example: http://example.com/image/src/the-same-image.jpg http://example.com/image/custom/src/the-same-image2.jpg 1 and 2 has the same file content but different URL. This is a problem now because the navigator assumes that the file are different and need to be cached (due to the URL), when the real cached file is only one. I have the possibility to know if the file at the URL's are the same. How I can use the headers to indicate in the Response that possibility, and the navigator will cache only one file?

  • Using redirect_to to :create action

    I am trying to redirect to the create method of another controller. However, I can't find a way to set the method to POST. This results in the index method to be called. Using :method => :post just creates a new parameter, but doesn't change the http method. Any ideas how to redirect to the create method?

    I am trying to make a racing game with an overhead view looking down. There will be a separate mc for the ground and another separate mc for the players car. How can I do this? O ya and just in case i am thinking the way I did: I tried to "rotate" the ground but when the car moves down the ground it moves away from the registration point, so therefore it rotates non relative to the car i want to make this game in as3.

  • Avoiding dog-piling or thundering herd in a memcached expiration scenario

    I have the result of a query that is very expensive. It is the join of several tables and a map reduce job. This is cached in memcached for 15 minutes. Once the cache expires the queries are obviously run and the cache warmed again. But at the point of expiration the thundering herd problem issue can happen. One way to fix this problem, that I do right now is to run a scheduled task that kicks in the 14th minute. But somehow this looks very sub optimal to me. Another approach I like is nginx’s proxy_cache_use_stale updating; mechanism. The webserver/machine continues to deliver stale cache while a thread kicks in the moment expiration happens and updates the cache. Has someone applied this to memcached scenario though I understand this is a client side strategy? If it benefits, I use Django.

    I have a web site built on Symfony2 which uses twig templates, LESS, and assetic. In order to cache bust assets, I'm simply using this in my config.yml: framework: templating: engines: ['twig'] assets_version: 'asset-version-here' And then I use the asset() function to load the asset and the cache busting is handled for me. However, the concern I have is when I load my LESS (css) file, there are references to other files, and I would like to know how these files can be cache busted as well. Example: .someSelector { background:url('../images/filename.png'); } How can I make sure that the referenced file, filename.png is cache busted upon deployment? The asset files referenced in Twig using asset() are cache busted automatically upon deployment (I use a deployment script hook that updates the assets_version in the framework's config), but those referenced in a stylesheet are not. How can I do this?

    I used HTTP Chache Manager to Cache files which are being cached in browser. I am successful of doing it for some of the pages. Number of files being cached in Jmeter is equal to Number of files being cached by browser. But in some cases : I found number files being cached is lesser than the files being cached by browser. Using Jmeter I found only 5 files are being cached but in real browser 12 files are getting cached. Thanks in advance

  • node_load in drupal gets incorrect node when you are NOT logged in

    Hi All, i have a module and i am using node_load(array('nid' = arg(1))); now the problem is that this function keep getting its data for node_load from DB cache. how can i force this function to not use DB cache or static value? Example my link is http://mydomain.com/node/344983 now: $node=node_load(array('nid'=arg(1)),null,true); echo $node-nid; output: 435632 which is a randomly node id (available in the database) and everytime i ctrl+F5 my browser, i get new nid!! Note: if i am logged in, it gives the result correctly, but this problem happens only when i am browsing the website as an anonymous user i really appreciate any idea!! Thanks

So the data must be accessible from various processes. The data being cached is read-only. For now, all processes are located on the same machine. The environment is .net framework 3.5 and c#. My question is, how can multiple appdomains/processes retrieve cached data from a single windows service?

  • Share Link - Perform action in background

    I have an application that will accept URLs from the built in web browser via the "Share page" menu item. I'm using the send intent and it works just fine. However, I'd like to accept a URL and process it in the background without bringing my application to the front. I don't want the user to have to actually leave the web browser. It will notify the user it has finished processing the URL with a Toast message. I'm just not sure what type of activity should be used for this. A good example of this behavior is the "Read Later" instapaper application in the android market. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Imagine the following use case: I use an AJAX request for getting some info about Item and use this URL: http://domain/items/show/1 In my database all items have a field called modified_at where we store the moment when this item was previously modified. How can Last-Modified server HTTP header in response can minimize load/reduce requests/increase responsiveness if we need to process this request every time on the server side? It looks like we don't reduce the number of HTTP requests with that response and we don't reduce the load on server. Who needs this anyway?

    We have the following code: <asp:ScriptManager runat="server"> ... <Services> <asp:ServiceReference Path="~/JSONServices/ProfileService.svc" /> </Services> ... This results in a Javascript proxy found in /JSONServices/ProfileService.svc/js. This Javascript has content expiry set to the same time it was called (so it is never cached on the client). Is it possible to have the clients cache these proxies for some time?

  • iPhone webapp: my ressources don't get cached

    Hello, First of all, I'd like to say I'm not using any off-line feature from HTML5. I have a web-application which runs on the iPhone. When viewing it from safari, everything works quite well. But when I launch the application from the home screen (to remove the navigation bar), it can be really slow. I checked the logs in Apache and it appears that Safari does a good work to cache the resources (css / js / images), with Apache answering "304 Not Modified" when needed. However, when the web app run as a "real" application (navigation bar hidden), those resources doesn't get cached and Apache the content has to be transferred over and over again (response code 200 Ok + content), resulting in a significantly slower page load. How can I prevent this behavior? Do I need to always run my webapp inside Safari, even when it's launched from the home screen? Thank you!

  • Image not loading from cache after it's loaded in an iframe

    I'm loading an image in an iframe and then (once the iframe is loaded) loading the image on the page. But most browsers seem to be loading the image twice. Why isn't the img tag being loading from the cache?   • Is there a version of postActionEvent for KeyEvent (specifically for a JTextArea)?

    I'm writing a program that contains multiple JTextFields and 2 JTextAreas within an input panel. I have a submit button on the bottom. I have it set up so when a user types something into each field (including the JTextAreas) and hits the Enter key, it updates a text file, and when they press the submit button it updates the file then outputs a new version of it in the local directory. If the user presses Enter in any of the fields, it validates their input, however, I want to re-validate all fields when they press the submit button. Each field (again, JTextAreas included) has it's own validation check within its ActionListener or KeyListener (for the JTextAreas). It's easy enough to use postActionEvent() for the JTextFields, but is there a similar method for the JTextAreas to force fire a KeyEvent? I don't want to duplicate code and consume memory by re-writing the validation for those 2 Components inside the ActionEvent for the JButton. Unfortunately, I can't provide a sample because I'm writing the program on a classified machine (PC).

    I am wondering where the hibernate second level cache works as expected if I put a where clause in the hbm.xml class definition: <hibernate-mapping> <class name="com.clazzes.A" table="TABLE_A" mutable="false" where="xyz=5" > <cache usage="read-only"/> <id name="id" /> ... Will hibernate still put the id as key into the cache, or do I have enable the query cache? E.g. when I then execute a HQL query like from A where id=2 that results in an SQL similar to select * from TABLE_A where id=2 and (xyz=5). If I execute this query twice, will it consider the second level cache, or will it nevertheless execute the SQL twice?
