    Does writeToFile:atomically, add data to an existing .plist? Is it possible to modify a value in a .plist ? SHould the app be recompiled to take effect the change? I have a custom .plist list in my app. The structure is as below: <array> <dict> <key>Title</key> <string>MyTitle</string> <key>Measurement</key> <dict> <key>prop1</key> <real>28.86392</real> <key>prop2</key> <real>75.12451</real> </dict> <key>Distance</key> <dict> <key>prop3</key> <real>37.49229</real> <key>prop4</key> <real>58.64502</real> </dict> </dict> </array> The array tag holds multiple items with same structure. I need to add items to the existing .plist. Is that possible? I can write a UIView to do just that, if so. *EDIT - OK, I just tried to writetofile hoping it would atleast overwrite if not add to it. Strangely, the following code selects different path while reading and writing. NSString *rootPath = [NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) objectAtIndex:0]; The .plist file is in my project. I can read from it. When I write to it, it is creating a .plist file and saving it in my /users/.../library/! Does this make sense to anyone?

    hi, I m stuck in a really simple problem. And i m afraid my question might annoy some people. The problem i am facing in short is that i want to add UITabBar Control to my iphone application other than the main screen. Let me explain, I have done everything successfully Added UItabbar control from IB in the main window's xib, added a variable at the back end , associated it by dragging the line. Also added a UIWindow variable and wrote these lines . [window addSubview:tabBarController.view]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; when i launch the application a blank window appears and tab bar shows on its bottom. But the problem i dont want to add it to a particular window which is inside my app. Its no the first screen of my app. Its actually the 3rd screen of my app. Can anybody help ? thanks Taimur

    I have taken some photos from a recent vacation, but forgot to set the "away" time, so the time is slightly off. Thats not much of an issue since its only an hour from my home time, but my partner also took photos, but she was smart enough to adjust the time, so when merged together the overlap is annoying. Is there an easy way (preferably in iPhoto) to adjust the time that the photos were taken?

    I need to power 16 IP phones over their Ethernet connections. I am in the process of changing our switches and only the phones need PoE, everything else is powered by mains cables. I have contacted the supplier of the phones and for 16 mains leads it will be close to £300. I know it's possible to get a PoE injector that goes between the mains and the phone but I would like to do this as tidily as possible and ideally in bulk. I imagine something that looks like a switch but doesn't actually 'switch' if that makes sense. Basically I want to inject power to 16 devices at once.

    I am trying to do POST with HttpURLConnection(I need to use it this way, can't use HttpPost) and I'd like to add parameters to that connection such as post.setEntity(new UrlEncodedFormEntity(nvp)); where nvp = new ArrayList<NameValuePair>(); having some data stored in. I can't find a way how to add this ArrayList to my HttpURLConnection which is here: HttpsURLConnection https = (HttpsURLConnection) url.openConnection(); https.setHostnameVerifier(DO_NOT_VERIFY); http = https; http.setRequestMethod("POST"); http.setDoInput(true); http.setDoOutput(true); the reason for that awkward https and http combination is the need for not verifying the certificate. That is not a problem, though, it posts. But I need it to post with arguments. Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

To use in some functions which translate a given url to the secure one, unsecure one, etc. Now I need a second SSL secured site on the server so I need to dynamically add a port number while converting http to https, and remove any port number while converting from https to http.     I am trying to add files to an existing zip file. Whenever i do, the new one contains the new list of files im passing in, but all of the previous ones are wiped out.     I want to add a non-native shared library to Android so every application on the device would be able to use it. I mean using packaged classes just like a core library as if they were present in the application itself. I studied Android source code to figure out a way to add a new path to the application ClassLoader and found out that it is created during startup and there's no way to change the paths later. I can use my own ClassLoader, but all I will get after loading a class will be a reference to a Class object. This way I will be bound to work through reflection mechanism, which is slower than the native execution system. Is there any way to organise a shared library on Android?

    Hi all. I'm trying to add my recently uploaded flickr feed onto a site. I've followed tutorials with Simple Pie, but can't get what I desire. I need to be able dictate where each image will sit in multiple DIV's rather than just one repeated DIV. Here is a website which seems to do what I want.. wearecondiment.com It basically updates the Static URL inside each seperate DIV.. I cant find the PHP anywhere in there code. Here is the site I plan to add this feature to.. "http://www.openyourheart.org.uk" I'll make a new page and template of square DIVs where each photo will sit. The aim of it will basically be so that people can upload their own images to display in the campaign and automatically appear on the site. It would also be great if somehow the image could crop to the size of each square/rectangle. Any ideas? Cheers, Bradley

For small grammars I got good results by calling _recognition.RequestRecognizerUpdate() and then doing the unload of the old grammar and loading of a rebuilt grammar in the event: void Recognition_RecognizerUpdateReached(object sender, RecognizerUpdateReachedEventArgs e) For large grammars this becomes too expensive.

  • How do I display grouped XML data in a Flex pie chart?

    I've looked into grouping XML data with GroupingCollections and AdvancedDataGrids, but I can't figure out how to display that data in a chart. Basically, what I want to do is group the data by the category field, which should give me two rows under red, one under blue, and one under green. When inputting this data into the pie chart, it should take up the right amount of space (1/2 for red, 1/4 each for blue and green). I don't need the other_data field, as I'd like to use the group name (category in this case) as the callout. Any suggestions?     I just switched to Windows 7 and love the taskbar and library features. If I make a desktop shortcut to a webpage, then it becomes searchable from the taskbar (i.e., press the Win/meta key and type the shortcut's name and it pops up). The IE bookmarks/favorites already come with shortcuts in your "Favorites" folder. Can I programatically do this with my chrome shortcuts? My first thought was to export bookmarks to IE, but I can't find an option in IE that allows me to export bookmarks/favorites as shortcuts. Thanks!

    One thing I really love about languages such as Python is that if you have a piece of code you'd like to try out, you can just open the interactive shell and do it in seconds. Is there a Visual Studio add-in that does the same for C#? Basically what I'm looking for is something that opens up a window or tab with a text editor (preferably with code completion, because VS does it so nicely) and a button that runs the code and displays the output. Extra points for convenience features such as displaying complex output in a user-friendly way (think Firebug's console.log), automatically referencing all the assemblies the current project references, etc. I tried googling for a while, but either I fail at coming up with good keywords, or no-one has made an add-in like this. If there really is none, I'm considering making one myself.

    Hi guys, in my app i got a TTLauncher Object with some TTLauncherItems in it. Now i want to add some Items dynamically inside my App by pressing a button. Is there a simple way to do that or do i have to create my own methods? In the original facebook application there is already something like that implemented. (You can add your Friends to the Launcher) If not, what would be the best thing to do something like that? Store all "extra items" in a plist oder even in a database and query them, each time TTLauncher object is initialized? Thanks for help :)

I put a breakpoint into the ChangeValue sub but anything happens. I read on some post that handler for the first DropDownList is not necessary but, how is it possible to tell DropDownList to call my sub after changevalue?
