    With ASP.NET Webforms, I could drag and drop a control on a form and be able to access its properties: if (number == 0) AddButton.Enabled = false; Although I cannot drag and drop a control on a ASP.NET MVC View template, can I change its attributes? For instance: disable a button in some conditions and be able to enable it if conditions change. Be able to change the text of a button from "Next-" to "Finish" etc.

    Hey, How do you set the id of an Html.Form in ASP.NET MVC 2? I tried this: <% using (Html.BeginForm("Save", "Clients", new { id = "SubmitForm" })) {%> But it doesn't work, my form still doesn't have an id property: <form action="/TothSolutions/Secure/Clients/Save/SubmitForm" method="post"> I'm guessing this worked in ASP.NET MVC 1 but not 2. The reason I need the id property set is so that I can do jQuery validation on the form: $("#myForm").validate etc... Thanks, Justin

TimeSpan oneDay = TimeSpan.FromDays(1.0); for (DateTime d = startDate; d < endDate; d += oneDay) { // some code } Obviously you could do it without a For loop (i.e., with a While); I'm just curious if there's a certain syntax to construct a VB.NET For loop with a non-integer increment that I'm not aware of.

    I have a .NET app (webforms - .NET 3.5) that is running on a 64-bit server as 32-bit (I checked the IntPtr.Size result). The compilation is set to AnyCPU so I would expect that on a 64-bit machine, the app would be run at 64-bit. There are many Third-party programs incorporated into the app, could they be causing a problem? How do I figure out why 64-bit compilation is not being done?

I thought it was syntax for linq2sql or ado.net entity framework but I'm just using straight ado.net. I don't understand why the VWD used that syntax when generating the Create form.     I have an asp.net C# web forms application in .net framework 4 In my pages, when I view html source it changes control IDs to something like ctl00_CPHPageContents_txtUserID actually it is txtUserID This application was first in Framework 3.5 and IDs were generated like CPHPageContents_txtUserID So, in short, in Framework 3.5 Id was CPHPageContents_txtUserID and now in Framework 4 ID is ctl00_CPHPageContents_txtUserID which is breaking our automation tests. Can I remove this ctl00 added by Framework 4?

    I'm in the process of converting a couple of sites up to .net 4.0 and I seem to have a problem with regionalisaion of dates. This code: Date.Today.AddDays((Date.Today.DayOfWeek - 1) * -1).ToString() In .net 3.5 produces: '19/04/2010 00:00:00' but as soon as I change the app pool to 4.0 it produces: '4/19/2010 12:00:00 AM' Where can I change the setting that governs this?

    In "traditional" ASP.NET (Web Forms), the UpdatePanel control lets you do a partial refresh of a part of a page. You don't need to write much code to hook this up. What's the equivalent in ASP.NET MVC? I'm guessing I'd need to use a partial view for the bit that I want to update, then on the client side retrieve that HTML and pump it into the innerHtml of the correct DIV? A tutorial/example would be helpful...
