    You're probably familiar with Oracle Secure Global Desktop, our solution for providing secure, browser-based access to Oracle Applications and other enterprise software. It's a fantastic product and one I've been personally involved with for nearly a decade! I wanted to give you a quick update on all the fantastic things that are going on with it: First, we have done a few videos with Oracle's Mohan Prabhala at trade shows recently.   • How to fix sound in wolfenstein Enemy Territory

    I installed wolf:et, and i cant get sound to work. Everything that i have installed is in default paths, i had 10.4 and then upgraded to 10.10 via software update gui. I had sound working in 10.04 with method under 2. I have tried following killall esd; et; esd with that i get ------- sound initialization ------- /dev/adsp: No such file or directory Could not open /dev/adsp ------------------------------------ sudo -i echo "et.x86 0 0 direct" /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss echo "et.x86 0 0 disable" /proc/asound/card0/pcm0c/oss exit with that i get bash: /proc/asound/card0/pcm0p/oss: No such file or directory and indeed i do not have that, i have only sub0 and sub1 in pcm0p I have tried running et with et-sdl-sound script, but with that i get this output in console http://pastebin.com/J7gRU1uh I have probably messed up sdl libraries, could not get sound to work, so downloaded new from debian package site and installed them. Tried setting SDL_AUDIODRIVER="pulse" in et-sdl-sound, looks like i am getting same error as in method 3. pasuspender -- et +set s_alsa_pcm plughw:0 gives me ------- sound initialization ------- /dev/adsp: No such file or directory Could not open /dev/adsp _------------------------------------ Misc: @Oli: i do not know if i am running pulse or esd, how can i check that?

    Hi Guys I would like to run a Java program with garbage collection switched off. Managing memory in my own code is not so difficult. However the program needs quite a lot of I/O. Is there any way (short of using JNI for all I/O operations) that I could achieve this using pure Java? Thanks Daniel

  • Navigate to prev and next pdf file?

    I got a pdf viewer in a uiwebview, from Daniel Barry http://github.com/danberry/PDF-Viewer and it works really well, it displays a pdf doc that you can scroll up and down. Now I would like to display just one page at the time and also have a menu underneat the pdf page with a prev and next button. Can anybody help a newbe to figure out how? Thanks!

  • Twitter authentication without authorization

    I wish to get the tweeter usename of a visitor to my site. I do not wish to post statuses or access any other information. I'd be happy to use OAuth, possibly with a 'Sign in with Twitter' button, but this then takes the user to a page which requests authorization for the application, that I wish to avoid. Is there a way to get the username without authorization? Thanks, Daniel

  • Windows repair console, imposible?

    Hi guys, I found an old Windows XP SP2 in my -trash- cd can and tryed it on a 30 gb FAT32 partition. Installation went fine till the copying operation was completed and XP asked for reboot. After that either it starts over again or throws invalid disk. Starting over is an infinite loop the only way I see is to choose the "Repair console" but i'm not used to a dos box. Can anyone help me through this harmful instalation? Cheers, Daniel

It's a new window which I'll be using often so I think this is the right way. The window will be opened by envoking the showDialog-Method as known from the other dialog. Any Idea?     Hi, I'm using Ajax to get some XML, and then filling in some fields on a form with the results. There is a numerical field on the form and I would like to sort the results by this number (highest first). How would I go about doing this in jQuery?   • Developing for Mac, without a Mac.

    Hello I am a "lone wolf" game developer, and games sell more on Mac (because noone make Mac games... bizarre), so I need to make Mac games. My problem is: I don't own a Mac, and I have no way to get one (unless someone donate one to me...), I don't have money even to upgrade my crappy 3 year old PC, or buy a netbook... So, how I develop for Mac without a Mac? I guess that if I installed Mac OS on my machine, it would do, or can I just use Open Darwin instead? Or Mac OS run on virtual machines?

    I can't figure out how to call a base class method from a derived class method but concurrently applying this method call at an object passed as argument. What I mean is this: class Animal { virtual void eat(Animal& to_be_eaten) = 0; }; class Carnivores: public Animal { virtual void eat(Animal& to_be_eaten) { /*implementation here*/} }; class Wolf : public Carnivores { virtual void eat(Animal& to_be_eaten) { /*call eat method(of Base class) of Base to_be_eaten here*/ } } I thought of something like this dynamic_cast<Carnivores&>(to_be_eaten).eat(*this) //and got a segmentation fault Is there any way for this to be done?   • ReadyNAS Duo - FTP home network connectivity issue

    I have a ReadyNas Duo that I recently purchased and configured on my local home network. I'm an AT&T DSL subscriber using their default 2701HG-B Gateway (2Wire) wireless router. Basically, I have managed to configure my ReadyNAS, and can access HTTP shares and WINS shares just fine, but cannot get access to it via FTP. I've enabled it in the 'Standard File Protocols' section in the UI, and made a share have read/write default access via FTP. My settings: Port: 21 Authentication mode: User Allow upload resumes: Yes Passive ports: 1024-65535 Masquerade as: (empty, but I've tried the internal IP address). I've even poked around at my router, which has a firewall, and even tried to poke a hole for the 'FTP Server'app for the ReadyNAS. Doesn't seem like I should need to do this, or should. Any ideas what else to check? Thanks! -Daniel

    Dear All! I would like to backup our business-data to a remote backup-server. We would like to set-up our own backup-server running on any operating system (windows appreciated) which comes with a web-interface, that enables to restore individual versions of one file. Because budget is limited, an open-source software or at least a cheap software is a must! Unfortunately I couldn't find even a single software, which fulfills the requirements of file versioning and web-interface for single file-restore. Do any of you have already set-up such a system?
