• Anyone have a script to delete a specific local windows profile?

- by Jordan Weinstein
I'm looking for Powershell (preferred) script, or .CMD or .VBS, to delete a specific user profile on a workstation (WinXP) or terminal server (2000, '03 or '08). I know all about the delprof utility... That only allows you delete based on a period of inactivity. I want a script to: prompt admin for a username delete that username's profile and to delete the entire profile - registry hive too (not just the folder structure within Documents and Settings). The same way it would if you went to My Computer Properties Advanced tab User Profiles Settings and deleted profiles from there. Any ideas? All I can think of is doing an AD lookup to get the SID of the user specified, then using that to delete the correct registry hive too... something simpler would be nice though... Basically, my HelpDesk used to be local administrators on our Citrix servers and a common fix for various issues was for them to delete a user's profile on the citrix server(s) and have that user log back in - voila, whatever issue they had was resolved. Going forward, in new Citrix environment, they will no longer be local admins on those boxes, but still need to be able to delete profiles (deleting the entire profile: folder and reg hive is key). thanks.

• Delete / Remove node from XPathNodeIterator, given an XPath

- by RymdPung
First of all, if someone has a different, perhaps shorter (or better), solution to the problem, it's welcome as well. I'm trying to "simply" remove (almost) duplicate elements in XSLT. There's some (metadata) nodes i don't want to include when comparing, and i couldn't figure out how do do that in XSLT so thought i'd extend it with a function removing these nodes. Like so: <xsl:for-each select="abx:removeNodes(d/df600|d/df610|d/df611|d/df630|d/df650|d/df651|d/df655, '*[@key="i1" or @key="i2" or key="db"]')"> <xsl:if test="not(node()=preceding-sibling::*)"> blah </xsl:if> </xsl:for-each> And the extension, which doesn't work so well... (C#) public XPathNodeIterator removeNodes(XPathNodeIterator p_NodeIterator, String removeXPath) { Logger Logger = new Logger("xslt"); Logger.Log("removeNodes(removeXPath={0}):", removeXPath); foreach (XPathNavigator CurrentNode in p_NodeIterator) { Logger.Log("removeNodes(): CurrentNode.OuterXml={0}.", CurrentNode.OuterXml); foreach (XPathNavigator CurrentSubNode in CurrentNode.Select(removeXPath)) { Logger.Log("removeNodes(): CurrentSubNode.OuterXml={0}.", CurrentSubNode.OuterXml); // How do i delete this node!? //CurrentSubNode.DeleteSelf(); } } return p_NodeIterator; } My initial approach using 'CurrentSubNode.DeleteSelf();' doesn't work because it gets confused and loses its position in the XPathNavigator, causing it to only delete the first item it finds using "removeXPath". Something like a DeleteAndMoveNext() would be nice but there seems to be no such method... Example data: <df650> <df650 key="i1"> </df650> <df650 key="i2">0</df650> <df650 key="a">foo</df650> <df650 key="x">bar</df650> <df650 key="db">someDB</df650> <df650 key="id">b2</df650> <df650 key="dsname">someDS</df650> </df650> ..and then another identical node (if you ignore the meta fields; db,id,dsname). <df650> <df650 key="i1"> </df650> <df650 key="i2">0</df650> <df650 key="a">foo</df650> <df650 key="x">bar</df650> <df650 key="db">someOtherDB</df650> <df650 key="id">b2</df650> <df650 key="dsname">someOtherDS</df650> </df650> The result should be... <df650> <df650 key="i1"> </df650> <df650 key="i2">0</df650> <df650 key="a">foo</df650> <df650 key="x">bar</df650> </df650>

• C++ MySQL++ Delete query statement brain killer question

- by shauny
Hello all, I'm relatively new to the MySQL++ connector in C++, and have an really annoying issue with it already! I've managed to get stored procedures working, however i'm having issues with the delete statements. I've looked high and low and have found no documentation with examples. First I thought maybe the code needs to free the query/connection results after calling the stored procedure, but of course MySQL++ doesn't have a free_result method... or does it? Anyways, here's what I've got: #include <iostream> #include <stdio.h> #include <queue> #include <deque> #include <sys/stat.h> #include <mysql++/mysql++.h> #include <boost/thread/thread.hpp> #include "RepositoryQueue.h" using namespace boost; using namespace mysqlpp; class RepositoryChecker { private: bool _isRunning; Connection _con; public: RepositoryChecker() { try { this->_con = Connection(false); this->_con.set_option(new MultiStatementsOption(true)); this->_con.set_option(new ReconnectOption(true)); this->_con.connect("**", "***", "***", "***"); this->ChangeRunningState(true); } catch(const Exception& e) { this->ChangeRunningState(false); } } /** * Thread method which runs and creates the repositories */ void CheckRepositoryQueues() { //while(this->IsRunning()) //{ std::queue<RepositoryQueue> queues = this->GetQueue(); if(queues.size() > 0) { while(!queues.empty()) { RepositoryQueue &q = queues.front(); char cmd[256]; sprintf(cmd, "svnadmin create /home/svn/%s/%s/%s", q.GetPublicStatus().c_str(), q.GetUsername().c_str(), q.GetRepositoryName().c_str()); if(this->DeleteQueuedRepository(q.GetQueueId())) { printf("query deleted?\n"); } printf("Repository created!\n"); queues.pop(); } } boost::this_thread::sleep(boost::posix_time::milliseconds(500)); //} } protected: /** * Gets the latest queue of repositories from the database * and returns them inside a cool queue defined with the * RepositoryQueue class. */ std::queue<RepositoryQueue> GetQueue() { std::queue<RepositoryQueue> queues; Query query = this->_con.query("CALL sp_GetRepositoryQueue();"); StoreQueryResult result = query.store(); RepositoryQueue rQ; if(result.num_rows() > 0) { for(unsigned int i = 0;i < result.num_rows(); ++i) { rQ = RepositoryQueue((unsigned int)result[i][0], (unsigned int)result[i][1], (String)result[i][2], (String)result[i][3], (String)result[i][4], (bool)result[i][5]); queues.push(rQ); } } return queues; } /** * Allows the thread to be shut off. */ void ChangeRunningState(bool isRunning) { this->_isRunning = isRunning; } /** * Returns the running value of the active thread. */ bool IsRunning() { return this->_isRunning; } /** * Deletes the repository from the mysql queue table. This is * only called once it has been created. */ bool DeleteQueuedRepository(unsigned int id) { char cmd[256]; sprintf(cmd, "DELETE FROM RepositoryQueue WHERE Id = %d LIMIT 1;", id); Query query = this->_con.query(cmd); return (query.exec()); } }; I've removed all the other methods as they're not needed... Basically it's the DeleteQueuedRepository method which isn't working, the GetQueue works fine. PS: This is on a Linux OS (Ubuntu server) Many thanks, Shaun

• Display problem after deletion in linked list in C

- by LuckySlevin
Hi, actually this was another problem but it changed so I decided to open a new question. My code is typedef struct inner_list { int count; char word[100]; inner_list*next; } inner_list; typedef struct outer_list { char word [100]; inner_list * head; int count; outer_list * next; } outer_list; void delnode(outer_list **head,char num[100])//thanks to both Nir Levy and Jeremy P. { outer_list *temp, *m; m=temp=*head; /*FIX #1*/ while(temp!=NULL) { if(strcmp(temp->word,num)==0) { if(temp==*head) { delinner(temp->head); /* FIX#2 */ *head=temp->next; free(temp); return; } else { delinner(temp->head); /* FIX#2 */ m->next=temp->next; free(temp); return; } } else { m=temp; temp= temp->next; } } printf(" ELEMENT %s NOT FOUND ", num); } void delinner(inner_list *head) { /* FIX#2 */ inner_list *temp; temp=head; while(temp!=NULL) { head=temp->next; free(temp); temp=head; } } void delnode2(outer_list *up,inner_list **head,char num[100]) { inner_list *temp2,*temp, *m; outer_list *p; p = up; while(p!=NULL){m=temp=temp2=p->head; while(temp!=NULL) { if(strcmp(temp->word,num)==0) { if(temp==(*head)) { *head=temp->next; free(temp); return; } else { m->next=temp->next; free(temp); return; } } else { m=temp; temp= temp->next; } } p=p->next; } printf(" ELEMENT %s NOT FOUND ", num); } void print_node(outer_list *parent_node) { while(parent_node!=NULL){ printf("%s\t%d\t", parent_node->word, parent_node->count); inner_list *child_node = parent_node->head; printf("list: "); if(child_node ==NULL){printf("BUARADA");} while (child_node != NULL) { printf("%s-%d", child_node->word,child_node->count); child_node = child_node->next; if (child_node != NULL) { printf("->"); } } printf("\n"); parent_node = parent_node->next; } } While deleting an element from outer list I am also trying the delete the same element from inner_list too. For example: - Let's say aaa is an element of outer_list linked list and let's point it with outer_list *p - This aaa can also be in an inner_list linked list too. (it can be in p-head or another innerlist.) Now, the tricky part again. I tried to apply the same rules with outer_list deletion but whenever i delete the head element of inner_list it gives an error. Where is the wrong thing in print_node or delnode2?

• ANDROID: inside Service class, executing a method for Toast (or Status Bar notification) from schedu

- by Peter SHINe ???
I am trying to execute a {public void} method in Service, from scheduled TimerTask which is periodically executing. This TimerTask periodically checks a condition. If it's true, it calls method via {className}.{methodName}; However, as Java requires, the method needs to be {pubic static} method, if I want to use {className} with {.dot} The problem is this method is for notification using Toast(Android pop-up notification) and Status Bar To use these notifications, one must use Context context = getApplicationContext(); But for this to work, the method must not have {static} modifier and resides in Service class. So, basically, I want background Service to evaluate condition from scheduled TimerTask, and execute a method in Service class. Can anyone help me what's the right way to use Service, invoking a method when certain condition is satisfied while looping evaluation? Here are the actually lines of codes: The TimerTask class (WatchClipboard.java) : public class WatchClipboard extends TimerTask { //DECLARATION private static GetDefinition getDefinition = new GetDefinition(); @Override public void run() { if (WordUp.clipboard.hasText()) { WordUp.newCopied = WordUp.clipboard.getText().toString().trim().toLowerCase(); if (!(WordUp.currentCopied.equals(WordUp.newCopied))) { WordUp.currentCopied = WordUp.newCopied; Log.v(WordUp.TAG, WordUp.currentCopied); getDefinition.apiCall_Wordnik(); FetchService.instantNotification(); //it requires this method to have {static} modifier, if I want call in this way. } } } } And the Service class (FetchService.java) : If I change the modifier to static, {Context} related problems occur public class FetchService extends Service { public static final String TAG = "WordUp"; //for Logcat filtering //DECLARATION private static Timer runningTimer; private static final boolean THIS_IS_DAEMON = true; private static WatchClipboard watchClipboard; private static final long DELAY = 0; private static final long PERIOD = 100; @Override public IBinder onBind(Intent arg0) { // TODO Auto-generated method stub return null; } @Override public void onCreate() { Log.v(WordUp.TAG, "FetchService.onCreate()"); super.onCreate(); //TESTING SERVICE RUNNING watchClipboard = new WatchClipboard(); runningTimer = new Timer("runningTimer", THIS_IS_DAEMON); runningTimer.schedule(watchClipboard, DELAY, PERIOD); } @Override public void onDestroy() { super.onDestroy(); runningTimer.cancel(); stopSelf(); Log.v(WordUp.TAG, "FetchService.onCreate().stopSelf()"); } public void instantNotification() { //If I change the modifier to static, {Context} related problems occur Context context = getApplicationContext(); // application Context //use Toast notification: Need to accept user interaction, and change the duration of show Toast toast = Toast.makeText(context, WordUp.newCopied+": "+WordUp.newDefinition, Toast.LENGTH_LONG); toast.show(); //use Status notification: need to automatically expand to show lines of definitions NotificationManager mNotificationManager = (NotificationManager) getSystemService(Context.NOTIFICATION_SERVICE); int icon = R.drawable.icon; // icon from resources CharSequence tickerText = WordUp.newCopied; // ticker-text long when = System.currentTimeMillis(); // notification time CharSequence contentTitle = WordUp.newCopied; //expanded message title CharSequence contentText = WordUp.newDefinition; //expanded message text Intent notificationIntent = new Intent(this, WordUp.class); PendingIntent contentIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(this, 0, notificationIntent, 0); // the next two lines initialize the Notification, using the configurations above Notification notification = new Notification(icon, tickerText, when); notification.setLatestEventInfo(context, contentTitle, contentText, contentIntent); mNotificationManager.notify(WordUp.WORDUP_STATUS, notification); } }

• Centralized backup method recommendation for SMEs with various OSes

- by Akinator
Hi I was wondering what in your opinion is the "best" method for having "everything" backed-up in the following situation. We are a SMEs with 10 computers in total. Three of those computers are MACs The rest are windows (1 vista, 4 win7 and 2 XPs) I'm very open to what the method should be but you should also consider the follwing: Very limited resources Quite "small" bandwidth (4 MBs for all (download) 0.4 MBs (upload, yep, thats it)- though this might get, a little bit better) One of the main thing to back up would be the mails, considerations: All windows computers use outlook, mainly 2003 There is one mac that uses outlook too (for mac of course - not 2011 yet) We also have to backup the files: Not a huge amount Very few very big files Very organizes (by machine) What I would like is to hear your opinions as to which would be the best method (or combination of methods - preferably one of course) considering. We are not sure what do we need and I'm open to suggestions, though an online (cloud based applications) would be great, remember the the bandwidth is unbearable. Last think to consider, it that we would like to do weekly updates (unless the method is very easy of course). Thanks in advance!! I tried to be as specific as possible, but if anything is needed I'll gladly update, please ask for any clarification needed! Please avoid any answers like upgrade all to windows 7 and throw away your macs :) our's may not be an ideal situation, but it is what it is, and right now, it would be impossible for us to change it for a lot of circumstances.
